2nd Presidential Debate Open Post: Hosted by HRC getting the first question

wenn29635074

Here is your Open Post for the second presidential candidate debate, airing tonight at 9 pm on every single channel on your television. Hillary Clinton has not been in front of any cameras since the Trump Tape dropped on Friday afternoon/evening. She has not made any public appearances, and by all accounts, she has been diligently prepping for the debate with mock town-halls. Trump, on the other hand, couldn’t even pay attention for 30 full minutes when he tried to do a mock town-hall last week, and that was before the Access Hollywood tape came out. Now there are reports that Trump basically spent the weekend holed up in Trump Tower, stewing in his own orange pervert juices and growing madder and more unhinged as big-name Republicans began fleeing the Trumpster Fire.

There’s actually a lot of cause for concern on all fronts. An animal is at its most dangerous when it’s wounded, and that’s applicable here. No one knows what Donald Trump is going to do in the debate, how far he will go and what he will try to hang on Hillary. No one even knows what kind of language he’ll use, if he’ll actually try to apologize again or if he’s just going to attack, attack, attack. But that’s why HRC’s silence is so important too: sources say that Clinton made a conscious choice not to respond to Trump on camera this weekend because she wanted her reaction to have the biggest impact on live TV, on the debate stage, in front of tens of millions of viewers. While I do think Trump is going to say some nasty sh-t to HRC to her face, I also think that the reaction in the room is going to be immediate and Trump will obviously overplay his (tiny, delicate, child-like) hand.

Reportedly, debate moderators Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper are already allocating the first few questions of the night to the Trump Tape. And a coin toss means that Hillary Clinton gets the first question. Which is… wow. The first few minutes are going to be amazing. Also: some political commentators are trying to make this a thing: “Should Hillary shake Donald Trump’s hand?” Why is that a thing? What is she going to do, ball up her fists and stomp her feet when she sees him? HRC is a seasoned pro – please don’t make this about juvenile “she shouldn’t even touch him!” bulls—t.

CB and I will be tweeting some during the debate. You can follow me here, and you can follow Celebitchy here.

  1. Christin says:

Rather than prepare to discuss relevant matters in a civil way, one candidate chooses to hold a cheap pre-debate spectacle to focus on unfounded claims.

Desperation and deflection on overdrive. I have never seen anything like this, and the debate hasn’t started!

  2. Tiffany27 says:

JFC he is a psychopath. I hope they have security. It would not surprise me if he tried to physically harm her.

    • Little Darling says:

You mean grab her by the pussy?

    • marjiscott says:

HRC a psychopath? What does that make The Donald after orchestrating that stunt before the debate? Trumps number have fallen tremendously with independent women voters in the last two weeks. His own VP nominee is MIA as of tonight. Over sixteen Republic Senators (it may be more after this) have run for the hills. The Republic Committees attorneys are actively talking about dropping him as of tomorrow from the Presidential ticket.

      • Tiffany27 says:

Hillary? No the orange devil is the psychopath not her. I’m legit fearful for her safety. The man is unhinged.

      • Kitten says:

I’m glad someone else is stoned besides me.
Yeah she meant Trump. Jesus, he is a terrible human.

“Very very bad. A disaster. Bad. Very bad. Rates are going up. I have plans that are SO good. Extremely good. Plans you’ve never seen before. Strongly…” SNIFF

  3. Ally8 says:

The good news already is that apparently Billy Bush won’t be on the Today Show tomorrow (or ever again hopefully).

    • Christin says:

First time I heard the tape, I focused on DT’s words. Since then, I’ve listened more carefully and am more sickened by Billy’s reactions. He was an active participant, IMO.

      • Little Darling says:

Agreed. Bush comes equally disgusting, he was enthusiastically participating. Nothing nervous at all about his hearty laughter, and he was clearly shouting out about the women (including the one Trump called “it”.) 100% happy and totally into this behavior.

And then getting out of the car and asking the woman hug The Donald is a weird power play and social dynamic which clearly made her uncomfortable.

I’d love to accept the 11 year he’s a “changed man” argument, but he’s been married to the same woman since 1998, he has three daughters and the eldest is 18.

    • Lolo86lf says:

Does Billy Bush deserve to lose his job or just a lengthy suspension? If he gets fired it will be hard for him to find another job based on his newly acquired infamy. He does have a family to support and we have to think of the children going without because he played cheerleader to Trump’s male Bravado. Billy should offer a HEARTFELT apology to women and beg for forgiveness. Now Trump on the other hand can rot in hell.

      • Little Darling says:

I’m not sure if I would feel bad to have Billy Bush off of the air, or if he couldn’t find another job. He’s a frat boy who used his connections to get to where he is. I don’t think I would mind seeing him struggle for many years for that damn hug alone.

      • Emily says:

I can’t feel sorry for Billy Bush, especially if the argument is he has three kids to support. He wasn’t some first generation immigrant working at a gas station, tricked by someone more powerful. He’s been on tv for years, and comes from a famous/rich family. He did offer an apology, where he basically said he was immature…at 33. Give me a break.

      • qwerty says:

“If he gets fired it will be hard for him to find another job based on his newly acquired infamy. ”

YES! Let;s worry about his future!

      • Ally8 says:

As opposed to worrying about Nancy O’Dell, in whose harassment he colluded, whom Trump later tried to fire for being pregnant/ “unattractive”/ saying no to him.

      • Robin says:

Either what he said was unacceptable and he should lose his job, or it was acceptable and he shouldn’t. His family status has ZERO to do with it.

And yes, it was unacceptable and he should lose his job.

      • lightpurple says:

If Bush loses his job, it will be because of his past history with the network, prior infractions, and prior discipline. Meaning, if he loses his job, it will be because this incident, which occurred a decade ago, would not be the first infraction for which he received discipline of some sort.

People who have done absolutely nothing wrong lose their jobs every day in lay-offs or discriminatory actions and their employers don’t factor their need to support children into any decisions.

Besides, Billy Bush’s family could help him out, if it hasn’t already provided him with a rather healthy trust fund.

      • mary mary says:

Billy Bush, has wealthy family connections, perhaps they can assist in securing him other employment opportunities, should this suspension turn into termination.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Lolo86, he’s a member of the Bush clan, nephew to one ex-pres and first cousin to another. He’ll be JUST fine. And, yes, he should be fired — he’s a liability to the show’s ratings, even if the execs don’t care about his behavior.

  4. Ally8 says:

Here’s a link to a Twitter thread with another Billy Bush anecdote showing similar lack of judgement when meeting a woman in a professional setting:
    https://twitter.com/saucissonsec/status/784558445391388672

  5. Jayna says:

He might surprise us and start off all humbled and apple-izing to his wife and daughters for his behavior, and the women in the tape, and all women, very sincerely. That would be the smart thing to do, but we’re talking about Trump. That would amount to humbling himself and apologizing, which I think this narcissistic, sexist, asshole man-baby is incapable of even faking for the debate.

    • Christin says:

I think he’s going to go nuts.

Carville is saying that DT is overweight, tired and just plain angry. “Politically, he’s very, very stupid,” he just said. Sums it up!

    • mayamae says:

Someone would first need to remind him that he has two daughters before he can apologize to them.

      • Antonym says:

He’s on tape telling Stern that it’s okay to refer to Ivanka a “a piece of ass”. He himself calls Ivanka “voluptuous”.

I don’t think reminding him that he has daughters would make a difference.

      • mayamae says:

I agree. I heard a clip of the Stern interview. Stern said that Ivanka is a nice piece of ass and Trump responded, “yeah”.

  6. Little Darling says:

I just want to take a quick second to say that when I first started checking out Celebitchy, waaaaaaaaay back when it started, I had no idea that I’d find a likeminded community of thoughtful feminists, commenters whom I not only get amazing perspective and conversation from, but also a community of thoughtful, loving, caring, supportive women. This past year, with so much crap going on, this website has become a refuge of sorts. The place where I can go and unload my viewpoints, knowing whether I’m agreed with or not I will be respected.

I also want to thank the writers, who share so much of themselves in their writing, combining the frivolous topics with the heavy hitting topics with grace and laughter. For giving us a place to come and share camaraderie. I consider y’all my people and I’m eternally grateful for each and every one of you.

Okay UGH AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE TRUMP IS RUBBING about Bill Clinton.

    Annnnnnnnd Billy Bush is suspended.

  7. Who says says:

Donald Trump , with his before debate news conference, has just made assault on women , a dog and pony show before the debate.

  8. LinaLamont says:

This has worried me all along…

“That lead has given some of her longtime aides pause: if the past is prelude, this is exactly when Clinton chokes.”

“’She has, historically been a really horrible front-runner,’ conceded one veteran of her 2008 campaign. ‘She’s extremely cautious and risk-averse, and it causes her, ironically, to make mistakes.’ Another longtime aide added: ‘Finishing the deal has been hard for her in many contexts. Nobody in her universe is fully confident until it’s actually over.’”

    Also..a great tweet:
    ” Pumpkin Spice CeeJay
    @ceejayoz
Trump won’t drop out. Hey, Republicans, how does it feel to be forced to carry something to term?”

    • Imqrious2 says:

“Trump won’t drop out. Hey, Republicans, how does it feel to be forced to carry something to term?”
      ^^^^^^^^
Lolololol!!!! That is the BEST comment ever! LOVE it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    • Little Darling says:

There is a hilarious Meme of Pence pregnant carrying the Republican elephant in his stomach.

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

LinaLamont, “how does it feel to be forced to carry something to term”: that is the question of the hour — brilliant!

    • I Choose Me says:

      O.M.G. That quote is everythang.

  9. Lolo86lf says:

I literally cannot wait to see what Trump is going to do tonight. He seems really mad. I read a weekly article a couples of months ago written by Ann Coulter and she discussed how Hillary intimated one of Bill’s lovers into not telling the media about the affair. Supposedly Bill sort of raped the woman and Hillary threatened her so she would not press charges. Ann Coulter states that what she describes in her article is all true. This is horrible.

  10. Kaiser says:

Nicole Wallace: “This is the bottom dropping out, this is what it looks like.” I believe her.

    • Tiffany27 says:

The RNC has begun redirecting funds. He’s over.

      • Little Darling says:

But then what??? Scary mofo Pence???? He frightens me way more than Trump.

      • Melody says:

Interestingly, Little Darling, the VP is a separate nomination, so Pence would not become the presidential nominee. The GOP would actually have to choose another candidate to run with Pence as their VP!

      • tracking says:

Except that the deadline for that has already passed in a number of states, and early voting is underway. Don’t think it’s possible at this point.

    • Jayna says:

      I love Nicole Wallace.

    • LinaLamont says:

From your (Wallace’s mouth) to the electoral college’s ears. But, “it ain’t over till it’s over”.

  11. adastraperaspera says:

Well, let’s all wish up a whole lotta light and shine it right on Hillary, right now.

  12. Tate says:

I can’t believe I had to tell my 11 and 13 y o that they couldn’t watch the debate until I watched it first so I could be prepared to answer their questions. 😔

  13. lisa says:

i’m seeing women defend him on my Facebook page

    the internalized misogyny is sad

  14. Little Darling says:

Let’s do this Anderson. We are counting on you!!

    • Redgrl says:

Pretty disappointed in Anderson right now. He’s allowing trump to not answer questions, go off topic. Very disappointed.

  15. adastraperaspera says:

Children of the corn just came in. With their big sister Melania.

  16. Jayna says:

    Trump is despicable.

  17. Jayna says:

    Hillary looks great.

  18. MC2 says:

He sniffed!!! Or his microphone is broken again…..

    • Jayna says:

He’s sniffling again. LOL What is going on?

    • adastraperaspera says:

OMG the sniffs are going to save us!!

    • LinaLamont says:

Hah! We posted at the same time. 🙂

    • Christin says:

      The sniffing is back. Bigly.

      • Antonym says:

The sniffing is out of control. It’s like every other word. Does he have a stamina problem that causes him to get so out of breath from just talking?!?

      • Christin says:

It sounds like sniffing combined with being short of breath.

Random thoughts — I could show up with no preparation and yap about buzzwords like he’s doing. I hope to see a transcript of this, because he is rarely saying a complete sentence.

    • Jane says:

He sniffed over 90 times. I say he’s on something.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Yup. Maybe the guy has allergies that mysteriously only strike at debate time, but I think it’s a lot more likely that he pumps himself up for these encounters with Bolivian marching powder.

  19. LinaLamont says:

    He’s sniffling

  20. Neo says:

His sons have matching sympathy comb overs! His sons have matching sympathy comb overs!!

  21. Floydy says:

SNIFF!!! Why does he keep doing that??!!!

  22. lisa says:

im so glad anderson said it assault

and the answer contains the word isis????

  23. SusanneToo says:

    Trump the bullsh1t artist.

  24. MC2 says:

What is that called?! There is a thing for a “look- it’s worse over there” defense…..and it’s crap.

    • Jayna says:

It’s called deflect. Pivot. Deflect. Pivot.

      • Little Darling says:

The blame game. I know you are but what am I.

But deflection is the most fitting.

      • MC2 says:

Yes- deflect for sure and I found the fallacy I was thinking of….it’s perfect for how he started. Found this on the interweb:

The “not as bad as” argument, also known as the fallacy of relative privation,[2] is a form of the moral equivalence fallacy that takes note of the existence of things that are worse than what is actually under discussion—for different purposes, as outlined below.

It’s popular with people who know perfectly well they’re doing something wrong; being fully aware that they’re doing something wrong, they feel compelled to attempt to justify it and do so by pointing to other (usually worse) actions.

  25. Little Darling says:

    I am loving Anderson Cooper.

You FUCKING liar Trump. You WERE proud.

So his stance is the same. Deflect. Deflect.

If I hear the term Locker Room Talk again I’m going to spit on my tv.

    Yay Anderson. Love him.

The only border we need in this country is the border around Donald’s mouth.

  26. Aang says:

The silver fox strikes! Go Anderson!

  27. Jayna says:

locker room talk. ISIS. ISIS. locker room talk. ISIS, ISIS.

  28. Lightpurple says:

Let’s not talk about me bragging about sexual assault, ISIS is more important and the administration of the EEOC, which is the President’s job, is irrelevant! ISIS! We need to talk about ISIS! Pay no attention to that jerk behind the curtain. ISIS!

    • Christin says:

It’s locker room talk. Oh, and now he’s sniffing about Bill.

He is sniffing and sounds winded already. He may be out of steam (gas?) by the end of the first hour.

    • Little Darling says:

      ISIS is the new Mexico.

  29. SusanneToo says:

He just played the Bill card. SNIFF, SNIFF.

  30. Lightpurple says:

Clinton did not pay any fine to Paula Jones. Clinton WON the Jones case and then paid a settlement to end her numerous appeals. The settlement didn’t even cover her legal fees.

  31. Solo says:

    Holy cow. He is infuriating!

  32. SusanneToo says:

Oh, he’s going to LOCK HER UP!!! SNIFF, SNIFF.

  33. Rose says:

He makes my skin crawl. Now he is threatening her!!!

  34. Lynnie says:

Hillary is taking the high road and I love it. Her follow up answer to Trump’s non-sensical rebuttal to the first question was so beautiful and inclusive that I started crying. I feel sorry for being sucked into the Killary hype at first.

As for Trump if he doesn’t have anything better besides “I know who you are, but what am I” he needs to go the f*ck home.

  35. Jusayin says:

    Did he just threaten her?

  36. adastraperaspera says:

Now the threats. She is loving it. She can handle this.

  37. Little Darling says:

Hillary; I don’t give a damn about who needs to ask questions…

  38. Kittahlove83 says:

He threatened her? Then the crowd cheered when he said shed be in jail if it was up to him. 😓

    • Esmom says:

We just walked in the door at that moment, I couldn’t believe it. Who is this audience? Seems like the moderators were trying to get them in line.

      • Antonym says:

I find those cheers absolutely terrifying. Terrifying. There are vocal people who still want to vote for and support this despicable person. Our future is in jeopardy. Terrifying.

      • Kittahlove83 says:

Yeah, Anderson tried to shut it down pretty quickly. I am enjoying the moderators this time

      • Solo says:

Who the eff is this audience? I need a drink….

    • Ally8 says:

“Audience of undecided voters” – yeah, right.

I think “undecideds” are people embarrassed by their choice or eager for media attention.

      • jwoolman says:

The first debate’s audience may have been undecided, but I doubt if many for this one were. The first audience seemed to follow the rules, this audience has a significant number who don’t. Only Trump supporters would behave the way they did, that’s what happens at his rallies.

  39. noodle says:

    hahahaaaaa. let’s fa(c)t check donald

ETA but donald is trying to stay calm breathing heavily thru that nose..and still talking around and not answering questions because isis and 33 000 mails..

  40. adastraperaspera says:

He is trucking in conspiracy theories now. His base loves this.

  41. Snowflake says:

    Whoa, it’s getting ugly already!

  42. Jayna says:

The Big Whiney Baby has finally emerged. Everybody is ganging up on me. Waa-waa-waa. Give Donnie his pacifier.

  43. Lightpurple says:

He is whining that it is 3 against 1 and complaining that Cooper isn’t asking about the emails even though the last question was about the emails

    • Jayna says:

Donnie whines and complains. “I’m being ganged up on. Poor me.” It’s his go-to line.

Hillary, being a woman, has never had that luxury in the political realm, as it would be seen as weak, but, more importantly, it is not in her nature.

  44. SusanneToo says:

He keeps waving those tiny hands. SNIFF, SNIFF.

    • Ally8 says:

I love how he keeps unconsciously flashing the loser sign. Poor Donald revealing his deepest sense of self.

  45. minx says:

Sniffling again, was he tooting before the debate?

  46. Little Darling says:

    The 2016 Presidential DEFLECTION.

  47. Lynnie says:

WHY DID HE JUST COME FOR CANADA. I HOPE HE GETS TRAMPLED BY A MOOSE

    • Snowflake says:

      Me too!

    • LinaLamont says:

      @Lynnie
Do you live in Canada? If Trump wins, can I come live with you?

    • Redgrl says:

From Canada – I don’t know anyone who’s gone to the US for surgery – wtf is he talking about?

      • noodle says:

there’s a boy from canada currently in minnesota (jonathan pitre). canadian government covers part (i think more than a half) of the expenses and a charity is covering the other part.

      • Who ARE these people? says:

When Canada cannot handle it due to being a smaller country, a province may well send patients to the USA. It’s a matter of scale and practicality.

      • ohdear says:

The only people I hear of going the States are to Arizona for plastic surgery and those going for experimental trial treatments, but those are really rare. Canada’s health system is doing fine, even though we do have wait time challenges. I wouldn’t trade it for possible bankruptcies ever.

    • Who ARE these people? says:

We’Re in Canada and hooted when he said that. He has no idea what he’s talking about.

      • jwoolman says:

He probably doesn’t realize that the system still pays even if the medical work is done in the USA.

  48. MC2 says:

    Answer the f-in question Don!!!!

  49. Jayna says:

He never gives a valid policy as far as specifics. It’s bull. All vague promises with no solutions.

  50. SusanneToo says:

Anyone laying bets he’ll deny sniffing? Or blame it on ISIS? Or on Hillary?

  51. MC2 says:

oh.my.god what is he doing to that Muslim woman?! I would cry in frustration if I was her. That was not an answer to her question.

    • SusanneToo says:

He doesn’t answer any questions. His people crammed about three talking points in his thick head and that’s all he can go to.

      • Jayna says:

They trained him for the debate like they trained Sarah, with index cards and pivoting to talking points.

  52. adastraperaspera says:

Oh, thanks. Right off the bat he is talking about violence when the woman asked the question about helping Muslims in America. That does not help my cousin’s little kid who is right now getting bullied in Kansas City at his school every day, because he’s Muslim!! Ugh!!

  53. Lynnie says:

I hope he doesn’t get off for that horrible hypothetical he posed about Captain Khan may he RIP

  54. MC2 says:

I hate the people in that audience that look so stressed & crazy. I probably would too but damn, some of them look intense in a kind of creepy way.

  55. Kitten says:

Man, Trump has the bleakest view of our country. Like he just straight-up hates the United States.

    • Karina says:

Sadly, it does seem that Trump has a very poor view of our country. He has a “Messiah” complex. He is going to save our country from itself.

    • Who ARE these people? says:

      Every other sentence: “disaster.”

  56. adastraperaspera says:

    He is lying about refugees

  57. Antonym says:

He’s nothing more than an overgrown playground bully.

    • adastraperaspera says:

He’s throwing a bunch of wild punches, not connecting on any. He is so desperate.

      • Jayna says:

Bingo. But the deplorables love it.

      • Antonym says:

But Jayna if they are this enthusiastic about him then they will likely go out and vote. I’m concerned that there are too many who feel certain that he can’t when with all of these disasters and so won’t be motivated to vote. The hate will motivate Trump supporters to vote. It is terrifying.

      • Jayna says:

I’m not worried about his base of supporters. They are always with him. What is important and will make this election are where the undecideds go. That’s where these debates help them make their decision. I hope they are intelligent enough not to fall for Humpty Dumpty. If Hillary gets a lot of those, she’s strong.

  58. SusanneToo says:

Does that moron not realize he’s on a split screen while he’s strutting and preening and making faces while Hillary responds? SNIFF, SNIFF.

    • Kitten says:

He sounds like a raving lunatic. He’s going on and on but saying NOTHING. I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s like a really bad skit, like satire.

      Except it’s not

      • mayamae says:

No I didn’t assault them. You misunderstood. Isis. I’m going to kick Isis’s butt. I’m embarrassed and apologize to my family. Isis Isis Isis Isis.

      • Little Darling says:

I was JUST Thinking the same thing. He might as well be the damn Charlie Brown teacher.

        WHY IS THE AUDIENCE CLAPPING??

      • Kitten says:

Oh my god you guys is this real? He hasn’t answered one effin question! This is crazy…he should not be anywhere NEAR the Oval Office.

He is just a superb idiot.

      • smd says:

Yes Kitten they do and they vehemently defend him, which is what worries me. I’m in GA and he has tons of support, among all classes, races and genders. Please do not underestimate his support 🙁

    • Who ARE these people? says:

He stood behind her in a menacing way. Not a good look in light of the tape.

    • Jane says:

      He’s imitating Alec Baldwin. LOL

  59. mayamae says:

Why is Cheeto allowed to prowl and pace into her territory? Gore did this once and they acted like he almost assaulted W. He should not be able to taunt into his microphone while she’s talking.

    • Karina says:

I don’t appreciate that despite the moderators repeatedly requesting Donald to stop interfering while Hillary speaks, he continues to ignore it.

He interrupts the moderators too when they are switching to a different question.

  60. Karina says:

Why doesn’t Donald candidly answer the question about paying federal income taxes?

“I pay tax, and I pay federal tax, too. But I have a write-off.”

Okay…so he loves depreciation. Answer the question, how many years were the taxes not paid?

  61. Rose says:

👏👏👏👏 Martha fact checked Littlle Donnie. Hillary did not go over time.

  62. Victoria1 says:

I can’t be the only one thinking Alec is Donald during the debate, right?

  63. noodle says:

god, i want to slap donald. he is just ugh…what a miserable miserable being.
i don’t understand how any woman can support him. or anyone for that matter.

  64. Rose says:

Go Martha! War Crimes and Syria. Great question. Donnie doesn’t know what she is talking about……

    • Karina says:

Kudos to the moderator, Martha, for reiterating the question about Syria. She basically outlined the entire question into sizeable chunks for him to understand.

I don’t think he still gets the question or the topic.

  65. LinaLamont says:

    Welp…Pence just quit.

“We haven’t spoken. I disagree with him. “

  66. MC2 says:

Cracks between him & Pence! Wow!

  67. adastraperaspera says:

He just contradicted what Pence said their Russian policy is.

  68. fee says:

You can see on Hilary’s face that she cannot believe that this moron is what she has to debate against. I am LOVING Martha just grilling Trump about specifics. Get him! (I also want to say that I am so glad that I have a place like Celebitchy to come read posts and comments by smart, intelligent women who understand the importance of this election.)

  69. adastraperaspera says:

OMG when the African American man asks a question the first thing in Trump’s answer is INNER CITIES. He is so racist.

    • Snowflake says:

Yes! That’s his way of saying black people have guns and violence and that’s why they get shot by cops. Which is total b.s., as if only blacks have guns and violence. Is he not aware of Asian and Hispanic gangs on the west coast? Black people are being shot by racist cops for b.s. “reasons.” The Manhattan bomber got in a shootout with cops, was not killed. The guy who killed five people in a mall, apprehended without getting killed. The kid on flakkka who was eating his victims face when cops came on the scene, did not get shot and killed. I guess they weren’t dangerous *rolls eyes*. But some reason, cops are very good at killing black men. Then their record, if they have one, is posted, as if that was good reason for them to be shot and killed.

    • Lucy2 says:

I just saw a great screen cap of that guys face when Trump starts “answering” his question.

    • Margo S. says:

I thought the exact same thing!! Just because he’s black he lives in an inner city? You moron!!!

  70. Rose says:

Racist answer to the black man. Does Donnie just think black people live in the inner cities?

  71. Karina says:

Donald proclaims that he will be a great president.

Sure, I believe it. He will remain devoted and be a great president while denigrating religious freedoms, using the “N” word (it’s on the Apprentice tapes), women, people with disabilities, and races.

How is he truly going to bring the entire country from “disaster?” How many times has he used this word since this debate began?

  72. merlot says:

Unfortunately, as someone who is not in the US so don’t identify as republican or democrat in the american sense – I think the Donald is doing a good job stirring up fears and populist support. He is saying what people want to hear.

    • SusanneToo says:

He’s saying what deplorable people want to hear.

      • merlot says:

Yes, he is saying what that segment want to hear. It is very childish, just blame everyone and simplify hugely complex issues.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a bounce back. I don’t like either candidates to be honest. It is terrible election year.

    • Kitten says:

Yep. This is all he has to do: just mirror their fears right back to them. Validate them. Remind them of how awful this America is and reassure them that he can make America great again and their lives won’t suck anymore.
Trump-supporters are so fearful and he makes them feel better.

  73. MC2 says:

He just said there are no jobs in the inner city & nothing to lose. Wtf?! Reminds me of when B. Bush said that people were better off in the dome after Katrina because it was nicer then their homes.

  74. mayamae says:

Did Cheeto really claim Captain Khan would be alive if HE were president.

  75. Karina says:

Clinton needs to stay grounded. Don’t go over the time limit. I can understand that she may be frustrated.

  76. Snowflake says:

I like what she said earlier about Medicare being a single payer system. No one seems to have a problem with Medicare. But bring up single player health system and people start screaming socialism.

Also, so much that Trump screams about, he does. He calls her hateful, but I he talks crap about everybody. And bills affairs? Trump’s a cheater, how can he say anything? He calls her a liar, so is he ! Do people not see the irony in this?! I’ve come to the conclusion that people want anybody but Hillary, so they will literally take anyone else. Because how else can Republicans endorse trump, who literally embodies everything they say they are against

  77. Rose says:

Good answer on Supreme Court Hillary!

  78. Rose says:

Is Donnie really talking about the Constitution? He hasn’t a clue.😂😂

  79. adastraperaspera says:

    Dear Trump,
Clean Coal is a myth. It does not and never will exist. It is propaganda.
    Sincerely,
    The World

  80. mayamae says:

I’m bothered that Cheeto, as a man, can glower, frown, sniff, and snarl. Yet Hillary, as a woman, has to continually grin like a pageant contestant. Yet she will probably be called shrill, abrasive, and bitchy. And Cheeto’s just being himself. Whatchagonnado?

    • Jayna says:

Donald was toned down compared to the last debate. LOL They must have worked on him. I wanted him to lose it more.

    • Kitten says:

Phoebe Robinson was on NPR discussing the angry black woman trope and by extension, how women in general are expected to present a certain way. She did this great bit about how she doubts Putin ever worries about ‘resting bitch face’.

But yeah, I’m with you about Hil having to maintain this perfect smiling facade and she can’t lose her composure for a second while Trump gets the green light to make faces that are even scarier than his regular one.

      • lightpurple says:

But she has to be careful about the smile because some describe it as smug. She just can’t win with some people.

    • adastraperaspera says:

Yeah, I had friends who said they thought Hillary should have been more aggressive in the discussions. But are you kidding me? She would be hung out to dry if she pushed too much, because patriarchy won’t allow women to let it all hang out. They tie our hands behind our backs and then taunt us for not throwing punches. She had to stay calm, she had to be the adult in the room. I think she did a good job.

  81. Lynnie says:

    THE LAST QUESTION
    HER ANSWER
    IM SCREAMING
    SHADE

    • Timbuktu says:

What did she say? I quit watching, I was so angry.

      • Lynnie says:

The last question was basically along the lines of, “Despite all the rhetoric your campaigns have thrown out can you at least say something nice/you admire about the other person.” And Hillary goes,

        “Well he has loyal kids”

        I legit started cackling 😂😂😂

  82. Jayna says:

Hillary is such an impressive woman with her great intellect and coupled with common sense.

  83. Karina says:

Interesting question, “…One positive thing you respect in each other.”

    • Timbuktu says:

What did they answer? I quit watching before we got to that part.

      • Who ARE these people? says:

She said his children are loyal.

        He said she never quits.

      • Karina says:

Clinton said that she respects his children. She also mentioned that they are “incredibly able and devoted.” He is proud of his children.

Trump said that Clinton “doesn’t quit” and “doesn’t give up” and that’s a very good trait.

      • DSA says:

Hillary said she respected his children (like, they turned out fine despite being raised by an a-hole). And he said Hillary “never quits” (because I’m sure he wishes she’d just quit already).

  84. mayamae says:

Donald Trump “loves depreciation”. Fu*k you Cheeto.

    • Karina says:

How does a President who loves depreciation ensure that the rich pay their taxes? Truly…how?

  85. Lynnie says:

His best answer would be about her 😪

  86. Karina says:

You are absolutely right, Trump. She does not quit. Thank goodness for it.

  87. Karina says:

Did you folks notice that Trump loomed with his family much longer at both the debates while Clinton began to communicate with the audience much sooner.

  88. SusanneToo says:

Women are actually posing for pics with that slimeball.

    • Kitten says:

I weep for humanity. These women are just sad souls.

    • Jusayin says:

Yeah, I noticed that too. SMH. I think he was told not to touch them and he just kept giving a thumbs up in the pic:

      😑👍 (that’s about his color)

    • DSA says:

Maybe I’m biased, so maybe it’s just me… But did the main women in his life (Melania and Ivanka) look tired, worn-out, and beaten down? It was sad (and I don’t mean that in a mean way at all).

Chelsea greeted Ivanka and I saw she didn’t look as miserable… But I guess when mommy’s issue is that she deleted like 30,000 emails, it just doesn’t drain the life out of you as a woman, does it?

      • ohdear says:

probably because they just had to deal with Donald and his team wanting to put the men who have accused Bill Clinton of assault with them in the family but it was a big showdown 3 minutes before the debate started. Stress and tension show.

  89. Karina says:

Can Anderson and Martha moderate the next debate too? They did a commendable job with this debate.

  90. Jusayin says:

Anyone else see how Trump totally ignored his other daughter? (Sorry forget her name but she’s Marla’s daughter.)

    ETA: Tiffany

    • Jayna says:

I feel so sorry for her. While she was growing up, he saw her a few times a year. She is so trying to win his approval. When she gave her speech at the RNC, he didn’t stick around to watch her and show his pride and support. She must have been so nervous. He got on his private jet and flew home instead. What a pig.

    • mayamae says:

That’s nothing new. He does that frequently.

      • Jusayin says:

He hugged and kissed Ivanka, shook his son’s hands and I think may have kissed his daughter in laws and Tiffany (who wasn’t even sitting with that group) runs over to him and puts her hand on his arm and he brushed her off and walked away. 😱

      • Miss B says:

Guess she’s not “beautiful” enough for him. Probably a good thing too – just in case he starts kissing her.

      • Karina says:

Trump ignoring his daughter with Maples makes me very sad. :/

    • lightpurple says:

Ivanka pretty much ignored Tiffany too. The brothers seemed a bit more receptive to her but not by much.

      • jwoolman says:

His kids with Ivana didn’t grow up with Tiffany, so she’s basically a stranger to them. They also may be dealing with resentment of her mother. The kids were old enough at the time to know what was going on and be very angry about it. They were also angry with Donald, but they’re hoping to cash in from him now.

    • ohdear says:

I think the older 3 are so much a part of the brand that the younger 2 will have hard time integrating themselves. Also, she and Baron (who is also never present for this stuff) are a reminder that he had affairs and multiple marriages.

  91. LinaLamont says:

    Blech…Pence is still in.

    • Karina says:

Pence tweeted that Trump won the debate. “Proud to stand with you as we.” He is right back on board.

      Godspeed Pence!

  92. Tifzlan says:

Abraham Lincoln after tonight: I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one I have never asked to be a part of.

  93. Timbuktu says:

I’m surprised no one else mentioned this: was I the only one put off by his repeated use of third person when talking to and about HC? “SHE did, SHE didn’t, it was because of HER”. As if she were an empty space. That was demeaning and disrespectful. I didn’t see the entire debate, but I paid close attention to her responses: never once did she do the same. She always called him “Donald”. That alone makes my blood boil because in it, I see a crystallization of every issue we as women have with Trump and his candidacy, and his ignorance, disrespect to women, his crassness, his ego, his disregard for manners and protocol, etc.

    • Jusayin says:

He also called her the devil if I remember correctly and threatened to have her investigated and jailed. That’s the first thing he’s going to do as President apparently. I guess he forgot how important defeating ISIS is like when he said it was more important than his locker room banter.

    • B n A fn says:

I noticed he tried to pretend she was not worthy to be addressed by name. Hillary stayed classy and good for her. She won two poles, one was cnn. Not the online pole.

    • Ally8 says:

Have you seen/heard that recent Giuliani quote: “Don’t you think a man who has this kind of economic genius is a lot better for the United States than a woman?”

First, “economic genius”, LOL. Second and mainly, their point, unconscious or stated outright is that her very gender is disqualifying. The ladies are there for fun only, and then only with a cut-off of age 35 according to the Cheeto Mussolini.

    • Kitten says:

YES. Thank you for pointing this out.

    • nicole says:

My mom said the exact same thing, he has absolutely no respect for women and that is crystal clear, at least he didnt refer to Hillary as an ‘it’ which he referred to the women in the video.

  94. mayamae says:

Anyone notice the extremely cold reception Melania gave Trump post-debate? She didn’t make eye contact and presented a cheek to be kissed.

    • Ally8 says:

I also noticed that she was out of her virginal white campaign wardrobe theme. Maybe that was an FU to whatever Trump idea was pushed on her in that regard.

    • DSA says:

I thought both she and Ivanka looked sad (and I don’t say that in a way to be mean like they looked ‘pathetic’, I’m talking about the negative emotion, triste) and tired. The women in his life looked worn-out and beaten down. I feel bad for the women in his family (including the other daughter I didn’t even know he had because he apparently won’t acknowledge her and likes to pretend she doesn’t exist).

    • ohdear says:

And she was wearing a pussy bow blouse.

  95. Little Darling says:

“Oh please Little Darling…come on. who gives a rats ass…there are more important issues then this bull shit…”

A real woman’s response to me when I commented on that 50 shades meme when I said it wasn’t the word it was ‘m fairly certain the rage isn’t about the word pussy, I’m pretty sure the rage is more about the sexually predatory nature the comment evokes. The fact that he thinks women’s pussies are for him to grab. That’s sexual assault and it has no place in society.

    • smd says:

Hear you Little Darling, our office split down the middle. Either side completely shocked with the other side and outraged. Sigh. I was called a feminazi today (by a younger female co-worker) because she asked me if i was happy that DT woulld finally put HRC behind bars, where she belonged. Well if that means I’m an intelligent HRC supporter who doesn’t bow down to bullies, yes then call me whatever. Since when is hate so valued?

  96. canadiangirlgirl says:

It takes a very strong and disciplined woman to do what hillary did tonight. Good for her.

  97. Size Does Matter says:

The irony. Last time, Trump said HRC doesn’t have a presidential look because of her lack of stamina. This time, the thing he respects about her, her stamina (she doesn’t quit, she’s a fighter).

  98. Jennifer Jones says:

Since Trump’s comments have been made public, I have actually had to defend myself when I have said how awful and illegal his actions are. People are telling me they do not condone what he said but no one, not a single person I have spoken with, is condemning his actions. I guess it’s ok if someone grab’s their mother/grandmother/sister/aunt/wife/girlfriend’s p*ssy, then. The rape culture in the U.S. is strong and until we address it, people like Trump will continue to make excuses for their deplorable actions. If we were talking about a person who is unable to control themselves so they grab a guy’s crotch, kiss him without invitation, or otherwise make unwanted sexual advances, this would be all over the news as the worst thing that has happened in America. But because it is about women, it is dismissed. By the way, I find it interesting that, if someone were to do these things on the street to random people, they would be arrested because it is sexual assault!

    • Kitten says:

Yeah to me the only acceptable reaction to Trump’s words are outrage and outright condemnation. Anything short of that is at least condoning, and at worst endorsing, the sexual assault of women.

  99. Figgy says:

    1st time poster 🙂

im a successful latina (dominican parents 💕) who has been on this site for many, many years and i just had to cosign that this community has educated me and nurtured my thoughts on many topics. Thank you all for your years of commentary, compassion, and snarkiness lol. It’s a joy to get home from a hard days work to hear Celebitchy, Kaiser, Corey, and you all tell me what i missed. Love y’all 💕
