Drake introduced Taylor Swift to his mom, but sources say they’re not dating

This week, we discussed the potential power-coupling of Drake and Taylor Swift. Both musical stars happen to be single right now – Taylor and Tom Hiddleston broke up last month and Drake and Rihanna broke up this month. Taylor made a point to attend Drake’s big birthday bash in LA on Sunday, and sources were buzzing about how much time Drake spent with Taylor, and how they looked flirty and giggly together. I think the idea of Drake and Tay-Tay as a couple is quite insane. I mean, I can see why it would look good on paper, but in reality? No. It would be bad. Really bad. In any case, TMZ’s sources – are these Drake sources? – want you to know that sure, Drake introduced Tay-Tay to his mom, but that Tay and Drizzy are not dating.

Drake gave Taylor Swift the VIP treatment at his 30th birthday bash, including some QT with his mom — normally an early sign of dating — but that’s not the case … this time. Sources connected to Drake tell us he introduced Swift to his mom and several of his homies during the Sunday night party in WeHo. TayTay’s not a regular at Drizzy’s legendary parties … which is why he wanted to make sure she met his inner circle, including Mom. After all, she’s arguably the biggest female music star on the planet.

Of course, the special care sparked all sorts of post-party reports Drake and Taylor were getting hot and heavy at the event — and we’re told they are close, but only friends. They have been for years, in fact, they hung out at the 2013 VMAs. So, no banging here. Besides, that’s RiRi’s job.

[From TMZ]

You know how we know they’re not dating? Because there aren’t photos of Taylor and Drake’s mom walking along a Toronto street together. That’s how the Taylor Swift Boyfriend Experience works, get it straight! So while it’s suspicious that Drake made a point of introducing Taylor to his mom, the fact that there are no photos of the event probably means that there’s nothing there.

Still, we should probably think of a name for the possible Drake + Taylor coupling. CB was the one to come up with Tiddles (Hiddles + Taylor) before they even happened. Would Drake + Taylor be Draylor? Drift? Swake? Taubrey (Taylor + Aubrey)?

That would be rich. Maybe TayTay has decided to go for someone more of color to keep her boyfriend career fresh. She’s about done everything else.
Better yet maybe they are dating but she keeps it on the downlow because he isn’t the right “type”.

  2. Snowflake says:

I think Drake is hot. Am I the only one? It looked that way on the other post.

Oh on a separate issue, I’m having trouble losing weight, even though I’m working out. Do you guys track your calories? Does that help? What do you recommend? Thanks

    • Nicole says:

I’ve had a crush on Drake since he was Aubrey Graham on Degrassi (Jimmy in the wheelchair!). So no you’re not the only one. I’ve grown up crushing on this guy

    • Locke Lamora says:

Physically yes, he is hot. But his whiny nasal voice ruins it.

    • Lightpurple says:

Keep a good journal. Track calories but track carbs, fat, and protein too. If you’re just eating lettuce, you’ll meet your calorie goal but won’t be doing your body any good. Apps like My Fitness Buddy help

      • lwil2 says:

        Lightpurple is right.

The My Fitness App is great for helping lose weight while don’t depriving yourself of necessary foods (cheese and wine are necessities for me).

The app tracks cals that go in and out. it also links up to your smart phone to track how many steps you’re taking.

        its dieting/exercise w/o over complication.

      • eggy weggs says:

I second. Or third. My Fitness Pal FTW. I call it “My Fatness Pal.” If nothing else, tracking your food and exercise makes you aware and, if you wish, accountable.

    • Nasty Little Darling says:

Drake and Taylor would surprise me. I don’t think they’re each other’s types at all. If it’s true bring on the gossip gods!

Snowflake: Aside from tracking foods and exercising and eating clean, I highly recommend:
Brooke Castillos podcast/website The Life Coach School. She is a life coach and she specializes in weight loss but also has AMAZING life tools. She offers so much free sage advice surrounding weight loss and life practice in general. She also has a webcast that corresponds.

Starting the day right food wise. Oatmeal is amazing for weight maintenance if you have it consistently, so are daily green smoothies. Having a piece of fruit and a bit of healthy fat (coconut oil or nuts etc) can set your stomach right for the day. A lot of people who maintain healthy weight also drink water with lemon first thing every morning, some also drink Apple cider vinegar with warm water. A tonic of turmeric, one whole lemon, ginger and a touch of cayenne is good too.

Some people also take a different approach and do elimination eating to test for allergies (gluten/soy/dairy can all hold on to weight/cause bloating if you’re allergic and so many people are!! ) Whole 30, The a virgin Diet etc.

Other alternative therapies (and I love alternative therapies!) is EFT tapping, you can google it, but Jessica Ortner specializes in it and Brad Yates is a guru of sorts. YouTube for both. Hypnosis and/or meditation for weight loss (free YouTube or podcasts).

Last but not least also try setting a list of all of the foods that you will eat/can eat for maximum fuel and stick with that RELIGIOUSLY for 6 out of the 7 days. Focus those foods on optimal nourishment. This can be eating oatmeal for breakfast a salad with specific ingredients for lunch and then protein veggies and a complex carb like sweet potato (they are fiber rich, so healthy and keep you full for hours (a great breakfast or lunch is over easy egg on sweet potato with sauté spinach or other veggie) and eat a variation of those meals every day.

      Good luck!

    • Bonzo says:

Track your calories on an app as weight lose is more about diet than it is exercise. It’s harder to control what you eat than exercising every day.

    • Snowflake says:

      Thanks guys!

    • greta says:

I will try an unconventional one – how is your sleep? If I don’t sleep it doesn’t matter what I do, I will gain weight

    • Lex says:

@snowflake I’d recommend removing the phrase “eating clean” from your vocabulary entirely. Mentally attributing good and bad tags to foods results in guilt and shame and binges and sadness. Yes eat fresh whole foods and lean meats and legumes and spices and less processed foods/sauces/seasonings but enjoy the things you love in small portions or you’ll feel deprived and fail.

My fitness pal is great but for some people counting calories can take over their life so use it as a guide – you might be surprised to learn how many cals are in some foods over others. use it to learn but not to becone obsessed with every grape and almond or you’ll be miserable.

Good luck! I am 6-7kg down so far

  3. Nancy says:

Who is trying to make Fetch happen. There is no way on Earth these two are together, From Rihanna to her, are you kidding me. Little diversion from the election that can’t be over soon enough.

  4. Sam says:

Again they are business partners. That’s it. And they’re doing all of this because now everyone is talking about both of them. Drake was even seen at Katy Perry’s birthday party. You think Taylor is going to date him? Stop.

Besides Taylor’s been spending all her time on the East Coast. She’s either seen being papped with Cara (who I think she’s dating) or she’s in Bedford. My friend works at this coffee shop there and she said the last couple months Taylor has been spending a lot of time there with the Reynolds. Maybe she’s trying to integrate herself into their relationship. Something she would do.

  5. Yura says:

Yeah drake is really hot these days. Good for taylor. Get that d!!

  6. Ann says:

Um… maybe his mother wanted to meet her. How is that not an option? If Taylor Swift was my friend my mother would want to meet her. I don’t see this happening at all and I’m not sure why meeting someone’s mother at a birthday party is a big deal.

  7. Cool Character says:

    TayRAKE is on!

  8. Boxy Lady says:

I like Taubrey because it sounds like tawdry. 😉

  9. Alleycat says:

It kind of sounds like her team (and maybe his?) are testing the waters to see if the public would accept this coupling. She did this exact same thing with Hiddles too. I still think she prefers the ladies, so I would assume she’d be interested in Drake to expand her “street cred”.

  10. Ayra. says:

    DRIFT.
I also call it as a possible song title.

  11. Capepopsie says:

    Draylor is perfect!

  12. Moon says:

Obvious play to keep taytay in the tabloids while addressing the ‘too white’ criticism of her friend group

  13. Div says:

I actually think they are probably good friends and business partners. As much shit as people give Taylor and even Drake at times, both are hardcore about their business and faithful to Apple. Drake has a type and an instagram harem outside of RiRi, and super skinny mayo white girls do not fit the pattern.

In the words of Lainey though, I wish this was true because it would be great gossip from the gossip gods.

  14. Yoon says:

LOL, this is a laugh. Look at her track record. Hell, look at most of her friends. If she dates a POC I will shit myself.
