The GoFugYourself ladies did a retrospective of Ruth’s recent outfits-and they’re wonderful. This is probably the most uninteresting of all of her looks. She wore a brightly colored print the other day and it looked gorgeous on her.

… to Be clear, As besotted as I am with her, no she did not … This is pretty unsalvageable… On the other hand he is giving me like with this olive suit

  2. Carmen says:

Not feeling that dress at all.

  3. Miss M says:

Better later than never. Apology accepted, CHems!

I really liked Ruth in Marvel agents of shield.

  4. Steph says:

She still looks so f beautiful. I hope to see more of her.

Her face is just so amazing. And the dress is weird but I actually kind of like it.

I once watched a video of Joanna Gaines speaking about her faith and relationship with God… I’m not religious, but I did find it very sincere and heartfelt. I don’t think they preach their faith bc it would obviously turn off some viewers so they’re savvy in that aspect, but I’ve no doubt about how churchy they might be.

Yeah, I agree. I fail to see how it’s newsworthy or anything. I read elsewhere that she and Chip at one point were in a financially perilous situation before getting the show and the church provided them a lot of help and kept them afloat, so they’re now very devoted to it. I have never seen them treat anybody poorly on the show or even really mention religion at all (except maybe a passing reference I missed). I just don’t get why it’s even something that comes up.

i did read some earlier stuff that was not my favorite—it’s nothing scandalous, just sort of rhapsodies about being “blessed” with their wealth. the American Christianity values of prosperity linked to God’s blessings/favor. it’s a strange interpretation of Christianity where you do well with business when you are in line with your faith. the problem being 1) people who are poor are somehow out of God’s will or it’s their fault; 2) Jesus actively advocated for poor people and against getting sucked up in the material trappings of this life, e.g., “easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven”
i’m not a Christian nor anti-Christian but there is an emphasis in American Christianity of capital ventures/economy prosperity that dominates over Jesus’s core values of love, empathy and taking care of needy and social outcasts.

Regarding Chris Hemsworth…we are all ignorant about something at some point in our lives. What matters, what makes a difference- is when we are willing to learn and grow out of that ignorance. It’s not easy, but I commend him for his apology. Most men with his privilege wouldn’t even bother.

  8. Insomniac says:

I have no idea why, but I like Ruth’s dress. Like her, too.

  9. Georgia says:

Ruth looks like a young Lelia Goldoni.

  10. Mannori says:

No, don’t go to see Inferno. Wasted money and time.

  11. Wren33 says:

I don’t like dresses that make me feel anxious. I have to surpress the urge to reach through the screen and move/remove that scarf thing. It is distracting.

  12. Lucy says:

Gigi’s outfit kinda looks like a fashionable pirate costume. That is to say, I actually like it (I know, I know). Put her a hat, a belt and an eyepatch on, give her a prop sword and she’s ready to go.

  13. NeoCleo says:

She is lovely and a wonderful actor.

  14. Danielle says:

    Love her in that dress.

  15. Danielle says:

Worst thing about gigis look is the hair. Awful!

  16. Jess says:

My goodness is Ruth Negga gorgeous!! The dress is a bit avante garde for me but I think she pulls it off. I’m so excited to see Loving! I’ve been absolutely captivated by their story since reading Loving v Virginia in my poli-sci class and the trailers look really promising 😊

  17. Josefina says:

She’s so pretty, but that dress…. is not.

  18. Kate Kack says:

If you care about LGBT rights boycott the Gaines and their HGTV Show Fixer Upper. They are virulent homophobes.

  19. JackieJormpJomp says:

It’s hard for a dress to look bad when you have that face…

  20. Greenieweenie says:

Oh, that Senator is so gross. So gross. Feel like I’ve been bumping up against that entitled smarm my whole life. I hope she slaughters him in the election.

  21. A Fan says:

Not good on her. Unflattering at best.

[*No idea if the two of them are a couple, but they look great together!*]

  22. Debutante says:

A big FUG to both of their outfits.
