Here are some photos from last night’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York. The event was well-attended by many models, designers and fashion girls. For me, Solange Knowles was the best-dressed person at the event, mostly because I think so highly of her style and what she’s able to pull off. It’s a weird thing, right? Like, if Beyonce tried to wear this metallic suit, it would look like a costume and it would be a tragedy. But Solange kills this look. Is it because she has a more avant-garde vibe? Is it because she seems to enjoy fashion more than her big sister? I don’t know.
Incidentally, Tina Knowles accidentally (?) posted a photo of Solange and Jay-Z in an elevator. DUN DUN DUN.

More photos from the CFDA event: Karlie Kloss in Prabal Gurung Spring 2017. This was also one of my favorite looks from the event, although I think Karlie’s styling could be a bit better. I don’t think the super-tight pony works on her. You know how I’m always complaining about bangs? This is one of those rare cases where a woman needs some fringe or volume, I think.
Olivia Munn wore a very summery Tanya Taylor Spring 2017 dress. She looks cute, but she also looks like she’s about to watch a game of polo in July. And she also looks like she has a different face (because of potatoes!).
Zendaya in Michael Kors Spring 2017. I don’t really like the dress but she looks great.
Hilary Rhoda in Zac Posen. This is a good example of why I think Posen is incredibly overrated and his clothes are way overworked.
Hailey Baldwin in Baja East Spring 2017. Eh. I might have liked it without the turquoise sleeve fringe?

That SNL performance made me fall in love with her! My fiance woke me up at the performance and said you will love this, her hair and outfit scream you and her voice is beautiful. I am so proud of him! He finally gets style!
She is easily the most striking woman of the lot. *So* magnificent!
Oh god no, the cut of those trousers. The foil oven-ready turkey look doesn’t appeal either.
Think it would totally rock if the cut of the trousers was different.
She looks like she lost a fight with aluminum foil.
i like the food covering foil, but I think the trousers could be slightly less voluminous.
Yeah, pants are bad. She reminds me of the cartoon where a guy wearing a barrel with suspenders holding it up.
You know the fact that she wore a pantsuit was a political message as well 🙂

As I scrolled down Solange’s picture, a loud and involuntary “What the f&&&?” issued from my mouth! Those pants!! Why? Stovepipe/cigarette silhouette would’ve been so much better.
I love Gurung’s dress.
I actually love Zendaya’s dress. She’s young and has the figure to carry it off.

Minx, I came to write the same. I am so over the cutouts but the color and the cape like top are amazing and she looks amazing in it.
Besides her, Karlie and the obvious winner Solange (love her hair too! And it’s Solange so she doesn’t need a cigarette pant, this was the CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, she always brings the extra just like only she can) everyone else does look budget and too summery. Like I feel I wore those dresses in the early 90’s and I bought them last minute at Mandees, Easy Pickins or Strawberries. LOL!
I loved Zendaya’s too. Solange’s pants just don’t work.
I’d love Zendaya’s dress if it was block colour. That pattern is unnecessary and belongs on a couch.

I agree. Zendaya is such a gorgeous girl. And yes-Solange is the epitome of cool style. I could never wear what she carries off-she’s amazing.

I, usually, like her over-the-top clothes, but, not this one. She looks like a zeppelin or helium balloon.

I normally like Solange so much that I even wasn’t too mad at her for her “sorry, not sorry for beating my sister’s cheating husband’s ass” incident but I’m not going to fake it and get behind the SNL thing. It was absurd. And she can’t sing very well. I kept waiting for the part in the song in which her voice would really shine and it never happened. It felt like I was watching Beyoncé (glam outfit) doing her best FKA Twigs impersonation (but with extra jazz hands!). Hubby had the biggest WTF look on his face and kept asking me if he was missing something. It was funny just watching him.
Oh and the pants on this outfit are yucky. She has a beautiful figure and it’s not flattering her at all.
I wish I could make knock-offs of designer dresses. What a dream, to be able to look at some piece of work like that- and it is art- and tweak it into how I think it should be. Then sell it for 40 bucks at target . Fantasy for the day.
Love solange, and zendaya is heavenly. I”d have to see those sleeves in motion. Love the color, the pattern…

I find all the fashion in this post quite tragic, though I do like Solange. And that girl Hailey whatsherface cannot be a model, I seriously don’t get it, I know Kendall and Gigi have zero charisma but they at least look the part.

I LOVE Solange’s style, period. She has the body and ambience that can rock any thing different, avant-gard! She rocks!
I think Zendaya looks the best, she can really pull off anything. I like the top of Solange’s outfit, but those pants are awful (they look like futuristic flood pants). Olivia Munn looks very strange, it looks like she has a wonk eye from using too much botox.
