Freida Pinto, Elizabeth Banks & Evangeline Lilly are the new faces of L’Oreal

The rumor going around a few months ago was that Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto would be the new “face” of Estee Lauder. I was rooting for that contract, just because it seemed to piss off Gwyneth “GOOP Lauder” Paltrow. Alas, Goop pulled rank, and Freida was instead offered a contract with L’Oreal Paris. Freido’s contract was just announced, and she will be joining Elizabeth Banks and Evangeline Lilly as the three new faces of the brand:

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto has a new job title she can add to her growing CV. The Indian actress has been revealed as an international spokesperson for beauty brand L’Oreal Paris.

Twenty-four-year-old Freida – due to begin filming her second big screen project, Woody Allen’s as yet unnamed flick in July – says she is “moved” by the new appointment.

She joins Lost actress Evangeline Lilly, who has also been recruited by the brand. Other new signings revealed earlier this year include Grey’s Anatomy hunk Patrick Dempsey and Scrubs actress Elizabeth Banks.

[From Hello Magazine]

I don’t have any problem with the choices of Banks, Pinto and Lilly. They’re all lovely ladies that appeal to a wide spectrum of women. Pinto is probably the biggest “get” for the brand, because every cosmetics company in the West wants a market share of India, and with Freida as a brand ambassador, it will be easier for L’Oreal to pick up interest amongst half a billion Indian women.

But, as many of you readers of the site and fans of Lost know, I can’t let Evangeline Lilly’s name pass without some mention of how crappy she is on Lost. Last night was the season finale of Lost, and we have to wait until next year to find out what happened with the bomb and the pocket of energy and Jacob and all of it. The finale killed me in several different ways, of which all of you are welcome to discuss. Such as: it was cool finally seeing Jacob; what in God’s name is happening with Locke; how stupid was it for Jack and Sawyer to duke it out in the forest as Sayid was dying; and finally, how much did everyone want to smack the hell out of Kate the whole two hours?

Here’s Frieda on the set of “Miral” on April 30th. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.

Not a cute haircut at all Freida!

Kate’s just kinda there. Something extremely interesting needs to happen with her character. People are too drawn to Juliette and Sawyer’s relationship. With Kate being thrown in to mess it up, people just like her less and less. And without that love triangle she literally is just there wasting in space.

Aside from her being on the show, I think she is so beautiful. She seems to be a good pick for the spokesperson deal.

As for the fight between Sawyer and Jack, I really wish Sawyer would have had the upper hand in it. Jack got in way too many licks.

    Poor Juliette much? *tears*

  3. Kaiser says:

Ash – I was totally crying when Sawyer was holding on to Juliette, too! Those two actors have so much chemistry together. *sigh* F*cking Kate.

she was in slumbdog millionaire for 8 whole seconds, while those kids were in it for much longer… this is so sad that she’s having a whirlwind career and those kids don’t even have a tarp to live under :(:(:(

I’m guessing you might not know this, but Evangeline Lilly is not one of Lost’s writers. But, if you’re into bashing the writers about Kate’s storylines, be my guest and please do NOT be gentle. How friggin wishy-washy did they write Kate’s character for the finale? Geez, she totally recruits Sawyer and Juliette to stop Jack, then because of Juilette’s sappy story pulls a complete reversal?

Good comments Ash and Kaiser. I hope both Sawyer and Juliette’s actors get awards for their big scene.

  8. Sara says:

Well…not going into much details, Locke isn’t really Locke. Erm.

And who cares about anything else? I can’t believe they had the NERVE! Juuuuliieeeeeet!

  9. Michelle says:

I love Elizabeth Banks, but she looks odd in the L’Oreal haircolor commercial I’ve seen her in on tv. Not like train-wreck bad, just way too airbrushed and plastic-looking or something.

Don’t know/couldn’t care less about the other two ladies. No offense.
