Since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September, Brad Pitt has been in the wind. We heard that he was basically hiding out in one of his LA homes, but no one really knows for sure. Some people even theorized that he shuffled off to rehab for a month or so. But Brad did make a semi-public appearance two nights ago, at a special screening for Moonlight. Brad produced Moonlight, and itâs a film thatâs getting a lot of Oscar buzz. He wants to encourage it, and he wants to celebrate the film and make sure that heâs using his name to promote this kind of film.
…Of course, it also works out that this is the week when the promotional tour for Bradâs film Allied is supposed to start. Just a few days ago, The Sun reported that Brad had canceled every appearance on behalf of Allied, and his people were trying to ensure that Marion Cotillard didnât get a ton of questions about the Brangelina split. Well, the premiere is tonight. And Brad will be there. People confirmed it yesterday.
Brad Pitt will make his first red carpet appearance since his split from Angelina Jolie at the premiere of his new film Allied Wednesday night, PEOPLE confirms. The premiere for the World War II spy drama, which also stars Marion Cotillard, will take place Wednesday night in L.A.âs Westwood neighborhood.
Pitt has kept a low profile since Jolie filed for divorce, and even skipped the premiere of his film Voyage of Time on Sept. 28, explaining in a statement that he preferred to stay âfocused on his familyâ at the time.
People Magâs story wasnât the first to claim that Brad actually is going to keep some of his commitments â Page Six reported yesterday morning that Brad will not only attend the premiere, but that heâs âmaintaining multiple commitments for the film. He doesnât usually do much press anyway.â So, that means heâll do the premiere tonight⌠and what else? One big interview with Diane Sawyer? Or something lighter, something he can control from top to bottom? What would that even be at this point? Anyway, my guess is that Brad will walk the red carpet tonight and stop for every photographer⌠but he wonât speak to any entertainment journalists. Or maybe heâll just give Entertainment Tonight a quote about the movie and thatâs it. And then everyone will be like, âOh, Brad is so professional, we hate Angelina so much!â

people are killing me. everything is SPECULATION. and has no one heard about the DCFS? they can be downright criminal. I’d be afraid to ever call them. on anyone. they can be far more corrupt and terrifying than an abusive parent can, sadly. all that aside, the more I think about how Jolie said he was just so wonderful and down-to-earth…she praised him like there was no tomorrow. that’s not the way a battered woman acts, especially if she wants to protect her kids. I would know. we keep our mouths shut in terror, but we don’t praise them in public. especially if we have millions and the ability to get help to get out.
Nudiedoula – If you’ve been there yourself you’ll know that perhaps people respond and behave differently in those situations. I used to sing my ex’s praises to my family and friends, even making thing up to make him sound good. Why? Because I didn’t want them to see what was really going on. So it’s not helpful to say ‘battered women don’t act like that’. Also, having millions doesnt necessarily mean anything – I was supporting my daughter and him (he had no job, and too lazy to even claim benefits) so I was the one with the financial advantage, and it made no difference to the feeling there was no way out. I am not in the slightest suggesting that is the nature of A & B’s relationship or making any comment on their relationship, i’m just responding to your post.

Did anybody actually believe he wouldn’t go to the premier or not do any promotion? I do think he’ll dial it back but Allied is a major film that he’s the star of. The studio wouldn’t just allow him to blow off promotion.

No, actually it would look like he’s putting his children above himself. He’s not doing that. Brad is all about image and career and promoting a movie that he had very little to do with proves that. De de Gardner and Klein are the producers of moonlight. Brad is in name only like most of the movies he takes credit for.
It’s so hard to muster the strength to care about this given the presidential outcome. But I welcome the attempt to distract from the tragedy. I hope Brad and Angie can find peace. They loved each other so much.
Sadly I think they still love each other but his alcoholism ultimately came in between. Alcohol has taken down some good men and has ruined hundred of families.

Actors and actresses have CONTRACTS they have to fullfill. Sometimes those CONTRACTS are ironclad. They HAVE TO promote the movies, just like normal people still have to go to work when they get a divorce too.

I have always thought that Brad was a wonderful man, partner and father. But if he doesn’t realise a statement soon about his alcohol and anger issues being the reasons for the divorce, I will lose all respect I have for him.

I have been a fan of Angelina’s for 17 years and she hasn’t let me down yet. Even though this whole divorce she has behaved in a classy and dignified way. She has taken all the hatred thrown at her in silence because of her children. She deserves to have someone else do the same for her.

He spent years being just fine with being seen as the golden goose that his ex and Jolie fought over. Or the stories of the wicked witch Jolie making him cry. Hell he even used that same story when news of the divorce broke of him crying to his parents because Jolie was such a meany. He had problem letting both of them get dogged out by the media. Sure he was dismissive of the tabs when it was brought up in interviews but I don’t recall him ever flat out saying that them attacking the mother of his kids is f-ed and they really need to stop.
Pitt strikes me as very self-centered ( most celebs are) so I don’t think he’s now going to give any statement that may ruin his rep (since there are still some that thinks he didn’t hit his son which is a load of bs but let them keep living in their dream world) in order to protect Jolie or the kids.

Why would he defend Goop? Angelina is the mother of his six children, so there is a reason for that, but I agree, he will not say anything.
It is hard to care today about anything except what happened in America last night, but I just want to say that Angelina doesn’t need his defending. She is a strong woman and she will be fine. She is used to things being thrown at her all the time and she never needed anyone to speak for her or defend her. Paltrow cut her hair like him. He was very blond and Aniston got her hair lighter and she got slimmer when with him. So, they changed for him, too. With AJ, he changed his hair often, mainly because of movies. He got that ugly beard that he also had with Aniston.
I saw a pic where he looked… not so well, like if he slimmed down too fast and his face showed it… he was bloated, probably the munchies and alcohol have been stopped. He also was smiling like he wanted to congratulate himself with the cameras, widely but like if it was too much. I hope that he and his behavior do get better and he then gets to have the children. They need two good parents.

AJ with full custody is only temporary. He will get joint physical/legal custody sooner than later. I haven’t read anywhere that he ‘ditched’ his family. If that were true, why has he filed for joint custody?

He’ll publicly pretend he has joint custody while filming movies in London and his kids will be in LA with their mom. Nobody has a clue what really went down in their relationship, or on the plane. People have obligations and work even through divorce. Her custody is temporary. Why is everyone acting like they have never made a mistake in life? We all have, unless everyone here is psychic and has more knowledge of the situation. Show some empathy for these people experiencing massive grief. Both of them deserve it, even if you feel they don’t. All humans make mistakes and hopefully he will be unlike my father and care and actively fight to heal himself and his family.
Pitt was just fully cleared by DCFS of child abuse charges. They are closing the case, done. They found no evidence of any abuse or pattern of abuse after investigating everything *exhaustively*.
This paves the way for a joint custody agreement, either made between the parents or issued by the judge. I hope both parents will work with this, AND not be issuing anymore “statements” regarding this situation through reps or proxies.

Hi Lalu…just read the news that after exhaustive investigation there was no abuse or pattern of abuse by Brad. DCFS has officially closed the case. I am so relieved for the children at this point but I agree with you, something isn’t right about this whole situation. What will be brought up now, since the abuse allegations were unfounded?
