Duchess Kate repeated a DVF coat & wore a new Temperley coat this weekend

wenn30220079

Yesterday was Remembrance Sunday, the Sunday after Remembrance Day (November 11th), marking the end of World War I. It’s a somber annual event for the British royal family, and every Remembrance Sunday, there’s a huge service at the Cenotaph in London. The same thing happened this year that happened in past years: Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry all took part in the laying of wreaths and an observation of two minutes of silence. The Countess of Wessex (Sophie), the Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla) and the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate) all stood on the balcony overlooking the Cenotaph, and they also observed the two minutes of silence.

For this year’s Remembrance Sunday, Kate did not wear a new black coat, which is nice, I guess. I mean, she has a million coats and she probably already has a dozen black coats, so why go out and buy another one? She wore the same 2008 Diane Von Furstenberg coat that she wore during the 2011 Remembrance Sunday service. In 2011, she wore her hair down though. I guess, if we’re setting the bar that low, we should praise Kate for finally understanding that Remembrance Sunday is the moment when she should do a conservative chignon.

Saturday evening, Kate and William also joined the royal family at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the Royal Festival of Remembrance. The Cambridges were there with the Queen, Edward and Sophie, the Duke of York, and Charles and Camilla. For Saturday’s event, Kate did wear a new coat – the black “Callas” coat from Temperley London. To me, this doesn’t look like a coatdress at all. This just looks like a coat, and I don’t know why Kate never takes off her coat when she’s inside.

More photos from Remembrance Sunday.

Kare’s solemn face looks like my “I’m trying not to barf” face.
And it’s funny/quaint to me that the Queen carries a purse.

    • mkyarwood says:

Rut roh, baby number three already! I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate just went for the Royal Brood approach.

      • CoKatie says:

That’s what I thought too, Mkyarwood. Something just shouts pregnancy. Her color and also the way William is watching carefully where she steps. Protective.

    • sarah says:

Hey, progress. At least she was solemn. One of my favorite pics is the one on Remembrance Day with her twirling her sausage curl with a grin on her face, and Sophie giving her the stink eye

  2. paolanqar says:

She looks so old when she wears black.

I wish the Queen could live forever. I was watching a documentary about her the other night and it made it even more clear of what an amazing woman she is.

  3. Kitty says:

Wow she does look old. Off topic but I fear for the monarchy once The Queen passes.

    • Kori says:

But she still maneuvers those stairs backwards and unassisted. (I’m 45 and with a crap sense of balance and I couldn’t do it even in flats) I think she’ll be trucking along for a few more years.

  4. lala says:

Kate´s copying her MIL is getting pathetic

    https://twitter.com/TheRegalLook/status/797859323946930176

Is there anybody in the BR family who could talk to her about the creepiness of this IaMDiana approach?

    • bluhare says:

      I also see Maxima.

    • Huckle says:

All 3 of those ladies look like Diana! No offense, but what are you talking about? Nobody else but Diana thought of wearing a black coat and black hat to a solemn event?

      • notasugarhere says:

        double breasted
        high neckline, not a v-neck
        shiny black plastic buttons
        exaggerated collar and cuffs
        heavily decorated collar and cuffs
three poppies when one is traditional
        dangle teardrop pearl earrings
large upturned black hat with velvet accents

Camilla has two of those elements, but isn’t aping Diana because she has her own style. It isn’t one or two accidental elements on Kate Middleton. It is all of them put together that closely mimic an outfit of Diana’s.

      • What I see... says:

I think that Kate and Diana wore very similar clothes for such an occasion.
But Diana looked dramatic. That not-too-tight fit of Diana’s coat gave her gravitas.
Kate looks worn-out and old and her coat looks like it were made for a young girl. It is simply too tight for Kate.

I also think that Kate copies Diana but not just out of cold hard calculation but because Kate is lazy. Too lazy to develop her own style / personality / approach.

And yes, it might be that Kate is preggers: she looks like she would like to throw up.

      • MrsK says:

        @nota
“three poppies when one is traditional”

I noticed that right away too!

But the Queen is wearing five poppies, and we know the Queen is everything that is correct and proper. I wonder if there is some new trend, maybe people are wearing additional poppies in remembrance of specific fallen soldiers or at the request of specific organizations or something.

Interesting that Sophie Wessex is wearing a piece of jewelry, not just the simple poppy button everyone else has on.

      • LAK says:

Sophie’s brooch isn’t just a piece of Jewelry. It’s a regimental badge of the 5th Battalion rifles for whom she is Royal colonel in chief.

Similarly, Camilla is wearing a regimental badge for her late father’s regiment. Her father was a Major of the 12th Lancers.

    • Paula says:

Its remembrance day of course they both wore black outfits or are you saying anything Diana wore is not wearable by anyone else?

  5. Jenni says:

    She looks old. No bueno.

    • Belle Epoch says:

Yikes. She looks sepulchral. She still doesn’t look like she is “there,” but this is more appropriate than ringlet twirling and smiling.

    • HK9 says:

She does. You can see the bags under her eyes. She needs a good make up artist to show her how to camouflage ASAP.

      • Tris says:

I need that, too. Any tips for bags under eyes (besides “being 20” or “not having children”)?

      • Alix says:

Unfortunately, smoking and sun have taken their toll — she has terrible skin tone (elasticity, I mean, not color).

      • Susannah says:

@Tris, you could look into allergy eye drops or nasal steroids. I had some issues with my eyes, watery, blurry vision along with under eye bags and puffiness. My doctor recommended allergy eye drops and not only did the blurry vision go away but the under eye bags did too! The astringent in the eye drops allowed the fluid behind my eyes to finally drain. Nasal steroids can do the same if you have allergies you might want to look into those with your allergist. I hope it helps!

      • msthang says:

HK9, Unfortunately, all the make-up in the world can’t hide sheer misery !!!!

    • Radley says:

Glad I wasn’t the only one thinking it. Both she and William look bombed out. smh

    • Lana 234 says:

I agree Kate looks old . Is she not getting enough sleep? I don’t understand why she looks soo haggard she is only in her mid thirties. Considering that she doesn’t have hard job she should show up looking well rested.

      • Ravine says:

Some of us just look old before our time. I’m 29 and already have pretty crappy skin compared to just a few years ago. And no, I’ve never dieted, smoked or tanned. (I’ll admit I’ve been lax about sunscreen, exfoliating, moisturizer and not picking at blemishes, though, so I guess it’s at least partly my fault.)

I remember HELLO doing a stupid article a few years ago “revealing” that Kate and Camilla’s skin secret is a super-expensive face potion containing bee venom. If that’s true, I’m glad I wasn’t suckered into buying it, because clearly it isn’t as miraculous as all that.

      • LAK says:

Ravine, crappy skin is usually a sign of poor diet/exercise. Not judging you, but if you don’t diet, smoke, tan as well as those other good habits that you acknowledge you don’t do, then a simple overhaul of your diet plus light exercise might do trick.

  6. Amelia says:

I love it so much that the queen gets to wear the most poppies. Nobody else gets 4. Long live her majesty!

  7. PHAKSI says:

Both looks are meh. Royal watchers on twitter didn’t like that her hair hid her poppy pin on Saturday, and her having her coat on then whole time she was inside. like you have pointed out before Kaiser, makes it seem like she wont be staying long at whatever event she’s at

  8. Sunsetsnow says:

Hiding inside her Norfolk compound, away from work and the press, is sucking the life out of her face. She looks old and and tired. She might need to call Max, Letizia, Mary, or Victoria for some tips.

  9. jmo says:

She looks like she is in her early 40s. Being part of the British royal family really ages you.

    • LAK says:

No it doesn’t. That’s just her.

Sophie is 50 and looks a decade younger.

Fergie never looked old when she was a member. Ditto Diana. And those ladies were far more scrutinised and unprotected the Palace. Not to mention decades younger than Kate.

  10. ;) says:

Kate thought: When is this all over? I want to go home.

  11. Jenn says:

I just saw pictures from their wedding day. Both looked young and happy and now 5 years later… well yeah.

    • Ruby says:

It’s amazing how much they have changed during these years…and not for the better.
Almost makes you scared to imagine how they’ll be in five years..?

  12. Meow says:

Looks old and arrogant. Which fits with the RF, to be honest.

    • Zardi123 says:

So agree she looks soo old … and she looks as if she is in a right mood ..
one can look solemn but she looks as if any moment a tantrum will unfold …
spoilt arrogant and lazy comes to mind … we had enough of these over indulgent pair ..
and at night looks as though she is only stopping a minute with coat on …

  13. Yolanda says:

    Her eyes are so empty.

  14. Carla says:

Am I the only one who thinks she’s on meds?

  15. IMO. says:

I used to like Wills and Kate but now I just want them to go away.

  16. Deedee says:

Wearing the hair curtains at the Royal Festival of Remembrance. She needs to take out half the extensions.

  17. Canadian Becks says:

So from all of Kate’s early pictures, she has very straight brows with no arch. Her brows were basically a straight line, and George has inherited those brows.

But that Left brow has been very arched since that event where they watched the horses, and she wore that red coat and sat next to Prince Phillip in the front row (and where Bea got sh## for texting behind the Queen).
That left brow has calmed down a bit but you can still see it.

Is there a procedure that does that?

    • Yolanda says:

Botox. Lots of botox. Letizia of Spain also does it.

    • Sharon Lea says:

I’ve noticed the brow shape change too, and her eyes seem more open, or round, now. Could botox do that too?

      • sandy says:

yes – especially at the outer ends of your eyebrow. it will lift them high up giving you an arch and a small more surprised look.

    • Canadian Becks says:

Then why is it that the left one is so much more arched than the right? The discrepancy was very noticeable in those pictures where she say front row next to Prince Phillip.

And also, I actually liked her straight brows- one of the things I liked about Brooke Shields. Now she just looks quizzical.

      • Hazel says:

All I noticed was that the right brow got more pencil than the left, which is, as you say, more arched than usual.

    • notasugarhere says:

She has a strongly asymmetrical face. One half looks like Pippa, one half like Carole. The different eyebrow shapes are related to that asymmetry. One is naturally more straight, the other naturally more arched. And as others have said, the botox plus harsh brow makeup accentuates the differences.

  18. Hashtagwhat says:

You marry for money (or status), you earn every cent.

Agree with comments that her eyes look dead. There’s nothing behind them. I’m no fan of hers but man, it makes me sad.

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Why? This is what she spent 10 years chasing after, i guess the reality is not what she expected or wanted. I truly think that she thought she could have an easy life once they were married and I don’t think she expected to work as much as she, as a senior member of the BRF, should be. The little that she does is no where near the level of other senior and elderly family members. She wanted the wealth and the status – she never wanted the duty part and is clearly unhappy that she is being made to perform her duty.

      • Hashtagwhat says:

She married a title, and one from a man who appears to be so psychotically controlling that she has siphoned whatever traces of personality Carole allowed her to have as a young girl out of her. All for the sake of the pursuit. And she got it. And now she’s paying. The bill always comes due.

Are you asking why does it make me sad that’s she so empty if this is what she wanted? Because I know what I don’t think she bargained for and that’s that all the Crown Jewels in the world will not give you a rich inner life, and she clearly has none, and I don’t care if she “deserves” that or not, it makes me sad for her. And especially for her kids. They’re the ones that really pay. Imagine looking at your mom looking like that all day. If you have no life behind your eyes you don’t just look unhappy in front of the cameras or at events.

      • Kitty says:

@Hash, well she was persistent and kind of stalked William. She wanted this and I guess it’s probably not her path in life to be a Royal. I don’t think she will be Queen consort anyways.

    • notasugarhere says:

She only looks bored and unhappy at certain events. Get her around celebrities or Ben Ainslie, or when she’s center of attention as she is at the second event, and she lights right up. The dead expression in her eyes here is boredom and annoyance at sharing the limelight.

      • LucyHoneychurch says:

This! Any fun event with celebrities, she is grinning ear to ear. I don’t think she is depressed generally. I think she specifically does not want to do the boring or somber events.

      • Hashtagwhat says:

Well, I was just about to add to my comment that on the other hand, it is possible that she’s such a vapid girl (what’s that awful Jersey Shore-like reality show in England that’s said to be her fave?) that she thinks this is an appropriate “sad face”. So, Nota, as always you make good points.

I was just trying to start my day out generously you guys😉!

      • Llamas says:

In the top photo both Camilla and Sophie are looking the same way and have their books out. Kate is looking elsewhere with no book; it really shows how little effort she is putting in.

    • Alix says:

Diana fell asleep at her first Opening of Parliament ceremony and she STILL looked more alive than Kate does here!

  19. Barrett says:

Black was appropriate but all black is not her color.

  20. Nancy says:

My oh my somebody is PMS’ing. She needs to smile through the tears, she looks very old without flashing the ivories!

  21. Chaine says:

Pic #3, Wills is doing the Mannequin Challenge, yes?

  22. Starlight says:

I loved her coat dress (coat) she wore to the evening event her hair looked very lush glossy and healthy. Is she actually in the present as all the pictures I saw on the media trail in the papers seemed like she had a lot on her mind. Like she was a bit distant to the whole event.

  23. Babyswans says:

I wish someone would explain to me why she never takes her coat off. Do I not get it because I live in Texas weather? But I think about when we visit NYC in the winter and when we enter a place, we at least open our coats. Are these coats made of lighter material? And what the heck is a coat dress? Because it never actually looks like a “dress” to me, just a nicer coat. I have so many questions…

    • LAK says:

I’m guilty of rarely removung my coat during early winter.

As cold as the winter can be, it’s not really super cold until January. There are exceptions in some years, but that is the general trend.

The coats for this time of year can be light such that you can wear a very light outfit underneath. Not all places are heated properly or you might find yourself in a room with draughty windows.

Further, you can find some really beautiful coats that don’t look out of place indoors and can be kept on.

Once the winter kicks in, it’s stupid to wear thinner coats or thin outfits underneath. And heavier coats always look horrid indoors.

      • Timbuktu says:

Where do you find such coats? Most coats that I find that look kinda like Kate’s are very thick and stiff, I’d get too hot and uncomfortable wearing them indoors almost anywhere, even if it’s not properly heated.

      • LAK says:

The trick is to buy them in late summer/beginning of the autumn, August/September-ish. The shops tend to stock light coats in bright colours or patterns.

Also, buy from stores that target grown women meaning that you are more likely to find smooth, clean lines that stop at the knee in places like Jigsaw or French Connection or Banana Republic or Reiss than Topshop.

By mid-October, they are stocking heavy, thick coats in dark colours.

    • Cerys says:

Very underweight people feel the cold more so maybe that’s why she never takes it off.

    • Egla says:

I’m always cold. I have low blood pressure and my doctor told me that’s why and I am not particularly skinny. (although it’s true that underweight people usually have low tolerance to extreme weather). I joke with my friends that only from mid June to mid August I am aviable for outdoors activities such as going to the beach. And here we have Mediterranean climate so we can stay with light clothes most of the year. Well I can understand her not taking off the coat if it’s a light one. Haven’t noticed but does the Queen takes off hers???

  24. MostlyMegan says:

“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.
A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
    ― Roald Dahl, The Twits

  25. Kitty says:

Off topic but does anyone know how big their Norfolk home is?

    • Hashtagwhat says:

It’s often described as having ten bedrooms, no?

      • Citresse says:

Everyone, it seems, caters to William. He has more personal living space than his father did at the same age doesn’t he? I mean, he’s got the bigger country home (more bedrooms) and Amner has the pool and tennis court (Diana asked Charles for a tennis court repeatedly and he said no) and look at his KP digs compared to Charles and Diana’s former marital home at KP.

      • Kitty says:

@Citresse, well I hope Harry has the same. For his official residence will Harry get apartment 8 and 9?

      • LAK says:

Kitty: 8 and 9 is already in use as WHK’s offices and reception rooms. Every time WHK have held a meeting at KP eg Kate’s HuffPo blogging or pre-India tour reception, it was held at 8 and 9.

Highly unlikely that they will give it up.

      • Kitty says:

@LAK, I think they will if Harry wants an apartment at Kensington. I mean what other place is there for him besides Nott Cottage?

      • LAK says:

There are other available apartments. He doesn’t have to reclaim 8 and 9.

  26. Yep says:

The only times Catherine was beautiful was before their wedding and when she was pregnant. She’s too thin.

  27. Sharon Lea says:

I loved Sophie’s look, the dress, the hat, giving me Wallis Simpson and in a good way.

    • ArtHistorian says:

I like the cut of Sophie’s coat but the hat is a no-no. I just don’t like those silly things that perches on the top of the head. I’m a sucker for a proper wide-brimmed hat like those Queen Maxima sports. That woman knows how to rock a big hat.

      • vava says:

        same here

      • notasugarhere says:

Mathilde can be good at real hats too, but she rarely treats us with those. Mary has some good ones, like the black-and-cream with cream bow. That is a gorgeous hat, one of her best.

Sophie’s proper hat game has gone downhill; she was better in the early years. Now she alternates little satellite dishes with giant hats stuck on the side of her head. They remind me of the OTT Edwardian hats in My Fair Lady’s Ascot scene.

      • ArtHistorian says:

I think Mary looks best in her little pillbox hats. She has a lovely purple one that I covet. IMO Mary has the best accessories game among the royals, especially when it comes to using accessories as colour accents to the main outfit.
(BTW, Mary and Frederik are celebrating their copper wedding these days).

Maxima’s hat game swings between awesome and utterly horrendous (her odd bagel hats are eyesores) – but that is her general sartorial profile. However, she is never boring.

I think that Mathilde is a very beautiful woman but that she rarely dresses in silhouettes and colours that flatter her cool beauty.

      • notasugarhere says:

I agree, Mary does pillbox hats well. Mette-Marit tries, but hers are exaggerated and too big, like 1960s Givenchy.

Mathilde is tricky to dress. Very long legs, short waist, wide hips, narrow shoulders. Some of her evening gowns are lovely and flattering, but her day-time looks can be awful. Plus her love of all orange or all hot pink accessories makes my head hurt.

      • ArtHistorian says:

Mathilde needs “cool” colours – orange and hot pink are all wrong for her. She looks wonderful in midnight blue and I bet she’d look fab in dusty lavender, etc.

Mette-Marit is just not good when it comes to headwear. It is either the too large pillbox or, even worse, those twee headbands with bows that should be worn by anyone over the age of 12. *shudders*

    • PGrant's Girl says:

Yes! I love Sophie’s outfit. She always looks fantastic, for such a somber occasion.

  28. bread says:

Kate and Sophie look to be about the same age in that first picture. And what’s the deal with rocking THREE poppies? Why isn’t one sufficient to show your respect on Remembrance Day?

    • Nilber says:

I’m not positive but I believe they represent those fighting deployed, those left on the home front and I think the 3rd is POW/KIA.
I’m not absolutely positive on the last one.

  29. seesittellsit says:

I like the coat and hat, but lawdy does she look bored and tired. I realize it’s not a smile and wave occasion, but still. She’s probably sleeping badly at the thought of what will happen when she has to stand next to Markle on occasions like these and the press doesn’t even want a photo of Kate any longer 🙂

  30. Citresse says:

Sophie shed a tear at one point. I wonder if that’s the first time? I don’t recall Sophie being so emotional at all…. I’m thinking it could be linked to the change. Well, it looks more appropriate than standing there giggling and twirling hair like a young schoolgirl (Middleton)…..how could that ever been allowed to happen?

    • Jaded says:

I always cry on Remembrance Day, remembering my father who served in WWII flying missions in North Africa. Maybe she’s thinking of a relative or one of the seniors she’s met in her charitable work. It just gets to you.

      • Citresse says:

Yes Jaded, I understand. This past summer during the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, I felt quite emotional thinking how young they were… so sad.

  31. Ladyjaxinabox says:

You guyyyyyys! Kate looks super duper preggers in that pic with William!

    • Kitty says:

      You really think she’s pregnant?

    • Lorelai says:

      I think so too.

All of the people who predicted she would be pregnant by Pippa’s wedding were likely right!

Only this time, I don’t think it will be enough to get the attention back on them. People are going to be far more interested in Meghan and another royal wedding, IMO.

IIRC, interest even dropped a lot from what it was when she had George when she had Charlotte. Nobody is really going to care all that much about a third baby.

  32. Kori says:

William doesn’t look too bad when he has a hat on. It’s the loss of hair, IMO, that really ruins his looks. Some can pull it off (Philip, Bruce Willis) but it just doesn’t work for William AT ALL.

  33. Shambles says:

I guess I’m crazy. But I don’t understand why everybody is so pissed at her for looking solemn at a solemn event?

    • notasugarhere says:

      Solemn vs. bored and uninterested.

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

With Kate, her solemn and bored faces are the same. its the eyes – you can see that her attention is not on what is happening in front of her.

  34. perplexed says:

I like her hair but her face looks…odd. That’s as kindly as I can put it. Maybe she just looks better when she’s smiling, but you can’t do that a Remembrance Day ceremony.

  35. Kathleen says:

My first thought was that she either: had too many scotchs & cigarettes the night before or is pregs. Maybe both hahaha.

  36. Redgrl says:

Whatever happened with the Irish Guards this year? Did she not go again?

  37. Minxx says:

Oh, my.. I can see now why she usually laughs like a maniac when photographed. She looks so much better smiling. Here she looks AT LEAST 45 and really tired or just bored out of her mind. All this sagging is not normal for someone this young.

    • Ruby says:

Her extreme weight loss is the reason for the sagging face. If she only returned to her normal weight her face would fill out again and the sagging disappear, but we know Waity value thinness above anything else, so that will never happen.

  38. Cerys says:

She looks appropriately dressed for the Sunday service. No hair twiddling. But she looks so old and tired. Others have mentioned she might be on medication. She certainly looks zoned out.
I wasn’t a fan of the Saturday outfit. A black cocktail type dress might have been better. The hair was awful and hid the poppies from view. All the other Royal ladies managed to look appropriate for the occasion. She looked zoned out on Saturday too.

  39. Angel says:

Love the Queen’s hat, so chic.
Not a huge fan a facinators (Sophie) for a solemn event, but she looks lovely.
Don’t like Kate’s ornate buttons and/or the coat trim, something fussy about it but just my opinion.

  40. C’EST says:

Yikes! She does not look good. What happened to her?!!

  41. Jaded says:

She does not look well. Either the cigarettes and starvation have really caught up or there’s something very wrong on the home front.

  42. Doctor Psych-Out says:

Anyone watched Netflix’s The Crown yet? It’s entertaining and intimate. Love seeing the take on Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth’s marriage.

  43. Starlight says:

The Times had a front page picture of her, her eyes raised to the heavens but it actually just looks like she has spotted a London scruffy pigeon flying overhead

The way her makeup is sitting on her face looks like mine does when I’m hungover. She looks like she had two bottles of plonk the night before and a packet of fags to go with them.

You know, this may be why Kate often looks so rough. I have read that she is a SERIOUS drinker. Back in their college days, she apparently matched Will shot for shot, and when he had to stop she just kept going.

    • Annie says:

I keep saying she is an alcoholic but nobody listens. She looks like a 1970’s party girl the morning after…everyday.

      • Citresse says:

I really don’t think Kate is an alcoholic. She’s just not aging terribly well. She didn’t hit the genetic lottery but then the majority of us don’t.

      • Soothie says:

Yes, because you are stating it like it’s a fact and have no evidence other than diagnosing her through photos (amazing talent by the way)

  46. CrystalBall says:

Serious fashion and etiquette faux pas: all the other ladies were in evening dresses (cocktail length) but Duchess Special Case chose to sit through a lengthy indoor theatre performance in outerwear (street clothes). She tries to talk to William but he ignores her. His smile appears when he talks to others – like Prince Phillip. There is a strange vibration going on in the Cambridge household. Such a shame she is in charge of two small children – they will grow into spoilt spendthrifts with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement and no sense of compassion or duty.

  47. Deeanna says:

Way back when his early onset baldness first began, I wished that William would go to see a doctor about hair replacement. I see these photos of him and still wish the same. I do not think it is too late, and I think people would cheer him, not jeer him. It is my understanding that newer methods have made hair replacement more successful and not noticeable like it was way back when.

As for Kate, what surprises me is that this particular photo made its way to the public. Every professional photographer takes lots and lots of shots of his subject. There is always plenty to choose from. When you see the wide publication a particularly bad shot of someone famous, it can sometimes indicate a bit of “payback” for some perceived slight.

Oh, and never believe that old chestnut “the camera doesn’t lie”. Yes it does. And even worse now that there is photoshop!

    • LAK says:

Video of her is more accurate. From her engagement in 2010 until some time after the first child was born, she was photoshopped to a hyper-real version of herself.

That first portrait of her came as a shock to the public because it was closer to the reality than the super photoshopped image they had been looking at for those 2yrs.

These days, depending on WK’s media relationship she is photoshopped less or not at all.

Sadly, the public is still wedded to the unreal photoshopped image so they ascribe all kinds of reasons for the difference in images when it’s simply photoshop or lack of it.
