The Gotham Awards were held last night in New York. In the grand scope of things, the Gothams aren’t really much of an awards-season harbinger, historically speaking. Although, I did look through this year’s award-winners and I do think many of these people will be nominated for an Oscar this year. You can see the full list of Gotham Award winners here – the list included Moonlight for Best Picture (yay!), Casey Affleck for Best Actor and Isabelle Huppert for Best Actress. Historically, the Gothams aren’t really the best fashion event either, but still… let’s talk about fashion! Natalie Portman was there with her husband Benjamin. Natalie’s going to be all over the place, hustling for Jackie. And I hope her awards-season fashion is better than this insipid Rodarte dress.

Here’s Katie Holmes in Zac Posen. I usually don’t like Posen and I think he’s endlessly overworked. But I sort of like this. It feels heavy enough for winter, plus it does give off a Christmas vibe.

Amy Adams wore Max Mara. I like that she did a smart suit here. Her evening gowns tend to feel same-y.

Margot Robbie in Calvin Klein. She’s been doing a lot of clean, minimalist looks for big red carpets over the past year. I like it. Even though I think she’s looks very Kate Bosworth-ish here.

Here’s Benjamin Mckenzie and Morena Baccarin. Her divorce situation is still a mess, but she and Benjamin are still loved up, so God bless, I guess.

Naomie Harris in Monse. I love her and I love this.

And finally, Ethan Hawke. Yes, I would.
