Here are some photos from last night’s British Fashion Awards. This is Gigi Hadid in a rather stunning Versace jumpsuit, which works surprisingly well on her. I would not have thought to put Gigi in Versace, but the combination is nice. I also enjoy the fact that she decided to wear pants rather than some cheeseball gown. Is this particular jumpsuit the most flattering and amazing thing in the world? No, of course not. It makes her torso look crazy-long, the sateen pants are wrinkled and Gigi’s slicked-back hair isn’t helping the look. But overall, this is solid. Just what I’d expect from the Model of the Year. Yes, that’s right. Gigi won the award for Model of the Year. Traditionally, at the British Fashion Awards, that award is usually given to a British model. But since Gigi is banging a British guy, I guess they figured, “good enough.”

I laughed out loud when I saw Salma Hayek in this Gucci dress. Baby girl, stop pouring yourself into these terrible dresses! SO BAD.

Eh, I think Gigi is good for a nepotism model ( Cara is still the best). She really fits into VS, les so in high fashion and she seems to have a personality. She’s much better than Kendall or Kaia Gerber.

as a model, gigi is fine. but i just watched gaultier do a mini interview with her on the red carpet and cringed all over again. girl needs a vocal coach like yesterday. her voice has always been really weird and nasal but i figured since she is doing more hosting jobs these days she might have gotten better. nope.
I never liked Alexa Chung (don’t remember why, just general vibe) but I watched her getting her makeup done by Lisa Eldridge on her youtube channel and I found her surprisingly charming and funny so I am now a fan.
And the world stood still for a minute – said no one whatsoever!

That jumpsuit is awful. And so is her hair. I think Karlie Kloss looks best, although I did see pics of Jourdan Dunn and she is absolutely gorgeous.
More importantly, who cares?
Salma has worn better dresses. And the jewelry she chose is overkill with that busy dress.
Gigi is a pretty girl and she is prolific but I don’t think she’s that memorable. Not to mention, her catwalk is terrible. I don’t hate it but… meh.

I wonder if the fashion industry knows that giving awards, accolades, and jobs to nepotism hires is just continuing the cycle of decreasing relevance/turning off the customers who actually buy their goods which forces them to go the insta route, but lol jokes on them because the ones who actually care about the Gigs and Kendalls of the world can’t afford their products/don’t read magazines anymore.
I really like the print on Salma’s dress though!

Alexa Chung is high-end basic.
If she was middle class she’d be sipping a pumpkin spice latte and wearing boyfriend jeans with blundstones, or whatever the new basic trend is.
I like the jumpsuit, it’s a little space age, a little avante garde. Gigi as model of the year? Sure. Same way People’s hottest man of the year is actually the hottest.
Kloss looks classic and elegant, Hayek looks like Ariel Winter wants to.

Taylor Hill has the moat irritating face on the planet. Gigi is much much better.
i am going to respectfully disagree I could look at her face for hours (well mostly into her eyes). Taylor was born with facial features (sharp jawline, great bone structure-gigi is more bubbly) Gigi could only have with tons of contouring, or straight up photoshop

Not “model of the year” whatever that is, but I like her looks. She looks fun and expressive. Not high fashion, but a good Cover GIrl model or the like.
I love Kate Moss’ hairstyle here and Jaden’s style. Everything looks good on him.
I guess Gigi deserved it. She had a big year. She looked great at the Victoria Secret’s show.
I’m sure this is an upsetting win for models who actually have to WORK to get to where they are. Is she deserving? No, she’s a mediocre model who has gotten this far thanks to nepotism.

She’s lost an incredible amount of weight and her face just looks so very different. She was pretty before. These awards are just BS. She’s not a great model and doesn’t have the facial structure to model. Hype and nepotism.

How the hell did Gigi get model of the year? Was it the Melania Trump face she made that helped her win? My god. This girl is not worthy of the award. I saw some other WAY more gorgeous, low key Victoria secret model girls who were more deserving!!
