Bristol Palin is pregnant for the third time, but this is the first time in wedlock

(Yes, she really cropped her son Tripp out of this Instagram.)

In 2015, we were pretty absorbed in the saga of abstinence advocate Bristol Palin’s second unplanned, out-of-wedlock pregnancy. Personally, I don’t care if someone is married or if their pregnancy was unplanned, but Bristol and the Palin clan always preached one thing and then did another, and Bristol’s second pregnancy seemed like Peak Hypocrisy. There were a lot of conspiracies to go around with Bristol’s second pregnancy too, like the idea that she didn’t know the paternity of the child – was it Dakota Meyer’s kid or someone else’s? – and a lot of confusion around why she broke off their engagement and canceled the wedding at the last moment. About a year ago, she gave birth to daughter Sailor Grace Palin (yes, she gave the baby her surname) and then after some back-and-forth legal issues about who would actually be supporting whom (not to mention a quiet paternity test, I’m assuming), Bristol and Dakota finally worked things out.

But June of this year, Dakota and Bristol were married and acting like the whole 18-month long drama had never happened. I kind of forgot about them, honestly. But now that Sailor is one year old, Dakota and Bristol have announced that they are expecting again. Fingers crossed that this kid is also Dakota’s! Fun fact: this is Bristol’s third pregnancy but her first pregnancy in wedlock.

Congrats are in order for Bristol Palin and her husband, Dakota Meyer, who are expecting their second child together!

“We are so excited to announce that our family is expanding!” the couple told ET in an exclusive statement. “God has blessed us so much; we are thankful for His grace and new beginnings. A springtime baby in the Meyer home and we can’t wait!”

Palin and Meyer welcomed a daughter, Sailor Grace, last December, and the couple exclusively confirmed their nuptials to ET in June.

“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” they shared at the time. “We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!”

[From ET]

Ten bucks says Dakota Meyer is the kind of guy who won’t stop until he gets a son. Just my opinion! In any case, congratulations, I guess. I assume Bristol is enjoying the fact that she’s finally married to a guy who just wants her to stay at home and have babies. From the looks of it, Dakota had to uproot his life and move to Alaska too, although who knows what will happen long-term. Sarah Palin is surely going to be a part of the Trump administration in some way. Will she move her entire family down to Washington? Considering the confederacy of dunces President Trump is assembling, now I’m wondering if Bristol will be hired for a White House position too.

Also: Bristol has gotten more face work done in the past year, right?

Didn’t realize she got married and yes, she definitely looks like she had more work done on her face.

    • Sullivan says:

Are all D-list celebrities going to the Kardasians’ plastic surgeon?

    • Runcmc says:

Unpopular opinion: she looks GREAT. I mean she seems to be rotten to the core, but her plastic surgeon does really good work. She looks worlds better, and if we didn’t have a side by side of her faces changing I wouldn’t know she had work done (as in she doesn’t have that awful plastic pulled-tight look some people hve after surgery)

    • Pawra says:

I can’t get over how much surgery she’s had done to her face. She looks completely different. I mean, her surgeon is a very talented man/woman, but geez, she looks nothing like herself.

  2. Lucy2 says:

    She looks so different.
For the kids’ sake I hope they really are a happy family, but that sure was a messy start.

  3. Jayna says:

He obviously moved to Alaska for her. What is he doing for a job?

  4. Sayrah says:

    Eh congratulations?

  5. Ramona says:

Trashy family. Of course they’ll have a public falling out as soon as that baby is born. She’ll spin it as “Gods plan” and her fans will coo about how brave she is. He’ll try to sell his story and then mama Palin will swoop in with some “hush and make up” money. They’ll reconcile and go on a national speaking tour titled You Too Can Your Marriage Work.

    • Lotusgoat says:

      @Ramona: spot on. It’s like you’re psychic.

I dislike the Palins so much, and especially this one. And it’s mostly because she has such an awful, hypocritical, uneducated message to pass on to other young women.

    • Down and Out says:

You’re probably right. When they first split before the wedding, Dakota Meyer liked a tweet saying he’d need to get a paternity test. True love!

  6. RussianBlueCat says:

I am just picturing the Trump family and the Palin family in Washington at the same time. The SNL writers will have hit the jackpot for material.

  7. original kay says:

    She cropped her kid 🙁

  8. JenB says:

    #blessed
    *rolls eyes*
All the best to the baby but I just can’t with Bristol and her hypocrisy.

    • HappyMom says:

Ditto. They’re trashy hypocrites. I wish the whole lot of them would fade back into obscurity.

      • Belle Epoch says:

Here’s an article that explains in detail how Dakota’s recollection of events does not match anyone else’s. Just little things, like claiming he rescued more men than actually went on the mission, and how he did not drive but was riding in the back seat … The worst part is that another living Marine was nominated for this award first, but his paperwork was LOST for over a year – which allowed Dakota to jump in line because they wanted a “living hero” to promote, even if he lied.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Belle –I used to write award citations, and the packets go up the food chain with an extensive form that includes summaries of all those items of evidence BUT not any of the actual statements, et cetera. So at EACH level some officer will usually direct some lackey to “polish up the writing, improve the odds of approval.” This is true of all branches of the Armed Services, by the way.

Like a giant game of telephone, it isn’t surprising that a citation packet under so much scrutiny and under so much pressure to be approved for the highest level award would have gotten so warped and “bigged up”.

Thanks for the real story, and as an OIF vet it rings true to me.

      • Belle Epoch says:

        @totallybiased – interesting! Thanks!

  9. Lolo86lf says:

I bet Bristol can’t wait for her mommy to get a big job in Washington D.C. given to her by royal appointment of his Majesty Donald I. That’ll put the Palin family back on the map. On another subject, Dakota does look to me like he won’t stop having kids until he gets a boy. I cannot wait for scientists to be able to predetermine the gender of an embryo so women don’t have to have a ton of babies until they get a boy to please their husbands.

    • Alix says:

Men should be constantly reminded that THEY determine the sex of their offspring. And women should be the ones to determine how many “tries” they get for the gender of their choice. Pathetic that gender preference is still so rampant today.

    • Tia says:

I thought this has been possible for years – it’s just illegal in a lot of countries. I know they can check whether embryos are male and female because it is legal if done because there is a risk of gender linked genetic diseases.

    • TotallyBiased says:

They can totally do it now with IVF, look at the Sophia Vergara case!

  10. Louise177 says:

The most interesting part of this story is why did they crop out Tripp? Personally I’m surprised they got back together and are still married. Considering how bizarre their engagement was I feel like there will be a horrifying break-up soon.

  11. Kezia says:

Just went Down the rabbit hole of bristol’s Instagram. That cropping picture is 6 months old, the more recent posts are all up in the kids faces. Particular lowlights were her shilling “pro life, pro god, pro gun” jumpers and reposting of a pro gun cartoon where Obama is drawn like a monkey that her husband had originally posted, so, so gross.

    • Alix says:

What disgusting, horrible people. Hope they disappear.

    • Pansy says:

A MONKEY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!!????!??!? In 2016, someone drew our African-American president as a monkey. What is wrong with our world right now??????????

  12. Myla says:

Nice job shaming her in the title. The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

And while it may be a fact, the title does have implications of shaming.

    • detritus says:

      It is shaming her.
For her hypocrisy of supporting an idiotic program, while ignoring its tenets and doing as she pleases.

    • Aila says:

The unbelievable hypocrisy you’re referring to ought to be BRISTOL’s hypocrisy.

    • Meredith says:

No one would have even brought it up had Bristol not been an abstinence advocate who then got knocked up while unmarried. Anyone whose attitude is “do as I say, not as I do,” deserves to be shamed.

    • kate from canada says:

While I don’t agree with what Bristol stands for… sinking to her level and shaming any women for her choices isn’t fair. Even when that women is a complete contradiction/hypocrite.

    • GreenTurtle says:

      Agree with Myla and kate.

      • Ziki Fly says:

Agreed. The idea here seems to be that it’s OK to shame Bristol for having a kid ‘out of wedlock’ because she would do the same to other women, has made money off abstinence-only speechifying while clearly not following it, etc. etc. While she is a hypocrite, the point of being a feminist and avoiding sexist slurs is that there’s no such thing as someone ‘deserving’ a sexist insult, no matter what they may have done, because sexist insults are rooted in gender. Call her a hypocrite and an a-hole, no problem. Don’t say things like ‘had a child out of wedlock’, especially in a deliberately misleading post title.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

Except this isn’t shaming of someone based on their sexuality and what they do with their bodies, gender-based or otherwise. No misogynistic slurs or stereotypes were used. This is calling out the hypocrisy between the intolerant, backward, sexually repressive political views someone promotes and the way they live their own lives. It’s no more slut-shaming than pointing out that a male politician who promotes discrimination against the LGBTQA community was caught getting down with another dude in a public restroom is ‘homophobia’, or pointing out the fact that Joshua Duggar looks at porn, has affairs, goes to strip clubs, and was a protected incestuous pedophile by his enabling family all while he and his family were dripping with misogyny and intolerance for people who’s sexual choices they disagreed with and painting themselves as having some wholesome moral high ground. Hypocrisy-shaming is not slut-shaming.

    • Veronica says:

Eh, she’s allowed to have children out of wedlock. I don’t really have a problem with that. It is, however, a bit like throwing stones in glass houses when you take money to support abstinence education, which has been shown to be functionally ineffective and even harmful to youth (especially women), while simultaneously supporting anti-choice legislature and conservative restrictions of welfare programs knowing full well that your wealthy family can keep you afloat should you wind up with an unintended pregnancy. If she wants to make money off of the public via reality television and taxpayer money (remember, her son utilizes Native American welfare services because of her father’s heritage), she’s going to have to deal with the attention that brings to her actions, positive or otherwise.

  13. Lea says:

I wonder if she got married because she discovered she was pregnant again. I mean, the baby is due in the Spring, and she and Meyer got married in June, so the baby could have been conceived before the wedding.

  14. Realitycheck says:

This family should not be allowed to reproduce. This is disgusting.

  15. Fiorella says:

    tripp.. Sailor.,,
    Boat?
    Captain ?
    Ocean ?
    Sea?
    Wave?
Captain is my best guess for a boy

  16. Antonym says:

    Isn’t this her fourth pregnancy?

  17. Disgusted says:

This site is dripping with venom for anyone with conservative views.

    • JackieJormpJomp says:

Yeah, how dare people make fun of a twice-pregnant unmarried spokesperson for abstinence. She did nothing to bring it on herself.

    • Ashamed 2 b a Fl girl says:

      New here, dear?

      • vespernite says:

        @Ashamed 2 b a FL girl HAHAHAHA!!!

@ Disgusted Seriously you aren’t tall enough for this ride!!

    • La Blah says:

I *disagree* with anyone with conservative views (where I’m from even the most liberal American viewpoint is considered middle to right wing) but I save my venom for people who slam anyone on welfare while happy to receive it themselves. Who slam single parents and people who have sex outside of marriage while doing it themselves. Who bang on and on about law and order whilst getting into public brawls, who attempt to make hay from a family members time in the military while conveniently ignoring that he didn’t join by choice but because it was a preferable option to jail when busted for criminal acts that could have killed someone. Who spew the most ignorant hateful garbage for years on end about anyone who doesn’t live the same kind of life that they dictate for others but can’t conform to themselves.
