The casting of every character was brilliant. The humour also made it for me. I probably shouldn't talk too much about fanboys/girls. I could have squealed when I saw Simon Pegg come onscreen. Restaurants encourage customers to drop anonymous critiques about their customer service in suggestion boxes and malls often employ "secret shoppers" to anonymously rate the work of employees. Restaurants encourage customers to drop anonymous critiques about their customer service in suggestion boxes and malls often employ “secret shoppers” to anonymously rate the work of employees. Anonymous internet comments about celebrities are no different than this.

Some really nasty things were said about Chris. (Chris kind of got it the worst because word got out early on that Quinto had Nimoy's seal of approval but Shatner never said a word about Chris and all that came out was that there was some kind of "dispute" and Abrams wouldn't put Shatner in the movie.) I think that's what he's talking about. Of course, now that's it's released most of the fans have changed their tune. It's had quite a good reception with most of the hardcore fan base actually. But I felt bad for him before - that's a lot of pressure and he was getting ripped to pieces before anyone ever saw him. And he IS grateful for the opportunities he's had - I've watched probably like 50 different interviews with him and Quinto and each and every time he's mentioned how grateful he is for what he's experiencing.
