i can never logically comprehend the idea that a woman gets pregnant… as if men are somehow conned into it. i’m not speaking from feminist perspective, just don’t understand the logistics. i mean, a man has GOT TO know by that age that if they put an unprotected penis inside a vagina, chances are good you’ll have a baby. so if the guy can be careless and have a baby, why can’t a woman be careless and have a baby without it being entirely premeditated. i mean, don’t women have the honor of being stupid and not thinking things through?
in my life, i’ve noticed that people who don’t want a baby, don’t usually have one. man or woman. they generally make an effort to remain child free. so i think that he probably (subconsciously or not) wanted this baby as much as she did.
Mel has been seperated from his wife for three years and has been with this Oksana woman for some time, so I guess this is not really surprising or shocking.
And again, sex does not have to be unprotected to result in a pregnancy. Using a form of protection decreases the chance of becoming pregnant but DOES NOT eliminate the possibility all together. Sorry to sound like a rant, but the misconception (no pun intended) that if a person becomes prego, they automatically didn’t use any protection is just wrong.

Nina, I agree that you can’t force a relationship, but if Mel wanted out, he should have been a man about it. Instead, he humiliated his wife and kids by having an affair. I almost feel sorry for his girlfriend and their child, because he’ll probably turn around and do the exact same thing to them.
