Ryan Reynolds brought out his two daughters for his Walk of Fame ceremony

FFN_KM_RReynolds_WOF_121516_52259901

Yesterday, Ryan Reynolds got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I’ve gotten used to barely even looking at the photos from the Walk of Fame ceremonies, because usually there are no big surprises and usually the photos are pretty boring. But Ryan gave us something new: the very first photo-op with his wife and two daughters. I think baby James (the oldest girl) has been photographed once or twice in blurry paparazzi photos, but never like this. As it turns out, James has oodles of personality. She has more pizzazz than both of her parents combined. James totally dominated the Walk of Fame ceremony, literally grabbing the mic and running around, happily posing for the photographers but not how her mom and dad wanted her to pose.

Obviously, the photographers and assembled media outlets were beyond pleased. They thought they were in for a fairly mundane photo op and they got the first look at both daughters. I think James looks so much like her mom, right? And that curly hair! So cute. As for the baby… Blake gave birth to her in September and we still don’t have the baby’s name. I’ve still got my fingers crossed for Girl Michael.

What else? James wore a $200 jacket from Coach (which is already sold out). Blake’s dress is Atelier Versace (and it’s hella tight). Blake also wrote a nice tribute to Ryan on her Instagram – go here to see.

I was not crazy about them together but after these pics I have to say they look very much in love and they have a beautiful family.
Those girls are just adorable. So much chubbiness! Gahh too cute.

  2. Rocío says:

Beautiful children! The eldest reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence.

    • lannisterforever says:

That’s actually who she reminded me of too!

      Gorgeous family.

      • Nicole says:

Same. This seems like how jen was as a kid. James has a ton of personality in that little body. Adorable.

And the way Ryan looks at Blake…wow. It’s lovely to see

    • V4Real says:

That baby has Ryan’s eyes. I never found Blake pretty, not even after all that plastic surgery but together they made some beautiful babies.

      • almondmilk says:

        Those girls are adorable.

Yea, they both have Ryan’s old eyes he no longer has (epicanthic folds). Especially the youngest. I love their eyes. ❤︎

I wonder if Ryan looks at his beautiful kids and regrets his own round eye surgery.

        He should.

Ryan looked totally different as a very young man on Canadian tv. Like perhaps he had some indigenous heritage. For whatever reason he wanted to make that look disappear.

Now his kids have his eyes. Lol strong trait.

      • SnarkySnarkers says:

I think she favors Ryan more than Blake. Its kinda nice to see Blake hasn’t lost the baby weight yet too. I had my babe in July and still have 15 more pounds to go. Ugh.

      • Allie B. says:

Very cute family and the eldest daughter has Blake’s original nose. No shade.

      • detritus says:

@AM, I agree they are adorable eyes. His rise was around the time execs seemed to be telling talent to erase their unique features. Julie Chen was straight up told to get work on her eyes done. Has Ryan ever said anything about it?

I wonder how they will talk to their kids about surgery, since they’ve both done quite a few alterations.

      • burnsie says:

The baby has Ryan’s eyes and James has Blake’s original nose

        Cute family!!

      • Flora says:

I assume that the lady with the short blond hair is his mother? The kids look just like her and Ryan. Same eyes. I wonder if they have Sami genes like Renee Zellweger.

    • INeedANap says:

She has her mom’s original nose! 😉

      • Neelyo says:

        I recognized that too!

      • artistsnow says:

        YES!!!!
I will never forget how disappointed I was when Blake ruined her nose. She had a lovely distinctive nose that gave her beauty much more depth. What I loved in the Traveling Pants movie was gone forever when she mushed it into the generic celebrity schnoz.

      • lisa says:

when people change their face and give birth to someone with the old face, i always wonder how they feel about that

like maybe they regret it and are glad to see it, or do they think it is gross and give the kid a complex?

      • emilybyrd says:

i always think that maybe it makes them see those features in a new way. when you love your kids that much, and they have those features that you changed away, i think you can’t help but see how beautiful those features suddenly can be.

      • BendyWindy says:

@Lisa, that’s actually the reason I never had rhinoplasty. I didn’t have money in my early 20s, and now I have kids that have my nose. I will live with a nose I dislike, because I don’t want them to ever get the idea (from me) that there is something about themselves that needs “fixing.”

I’m very careful not to complain about my looks in their presence. And I certainly don’t single out any of their features for negative attention, like my own parents did.

    • Jegede says:

      Yes.

And both babies have very very blue eyes.

  3. Sam says:

Their daughter is adorable!! Her hair and everything. They’re a cute family. And you can tell Ryan worships the ground Blake walks on. What he said about her being the best thing that’s ever happened to him…my cold heart has melted. Side note but does anyone else think their oldest looks like Taylor Swift when she was younger?

Oh and since when are Ryan and Anna Farris really close friends? I never knew that.

    • Tulip Garden says:

I didn’t know Ryan and Anna were friends either. I did love them in “Just Friends”! Anna’s over the top portrayal of a pop princess was hilarious. Also loved Amy Smart that played the love interest.
“I swear by the moon and the stars in your eyes, I’ll be there…..” Ear worm for the rest of the day!

      • Sam says:

She gave a speech during the ceremony and was seen with James. I thought it was cute. Just never knew Anna and Ryan were that close haha

  4. Eribra says:

Why did I think the second baby was a boy?

    • Eva says:

I did too, I’m sure I heard that when the birth was announced? I think I remember wondering if they would call him a girl’s name, and I still thought she was a boy looking at these pictures until I read the commentary! Very cute either way.

    • Gene123 says:

I thought the same thing and was questioning my memory because I SWORE they had a boy

  5. Liberty says:

Charming family. I’ll embrace anything nice & cute & potentially sweet that mean-girl 2016 can give us.

    • original kay says:

I was going to snark that I did not like her dress, until I read your post. You’re right. After the hellish 2016 we’ve had, photos of a loving family are nothing to snark about.

To quote the Cereal Professor: Nope, nothing wrong here.

      🙂

    • Who ARE These People? says:

You betcha, this is a real lift.

    • Kitten says:

OMG yes. I don’t really have strong feelings about these two but these pics are adorable.
And yeah, smiles are few and far between these days so I’m grateful for any opportunity.

  6. Tulip Garden says:

Those curls are to much! Beautiful family, all of them.

  7. lightpurple says:

Those two little girls have the same face. Definitely sisters. Definitely cute.

  8. Alix says:

Why all the secrecy around the baby’s name? It’s pretentious.

And $200 on a child’s jacket? Even if I had their money, I wouldn’t blow three figures on a child’s garment. Ridic.

    • Sam says:

So it’s okay for mom and dad to wear expensive clothing but we stop with the kids? If you had their kind of money you’d realize that the $200 they spent on the jacket is like $20 for them…which for how much they make and how much they spend on their own personal clothes is nothing.

      • Alix says:

I didn’t comment on the parents’ clothing. Whether it’s $20 to them or not, I personally wouldn’t spend $200 on a jacket a child will outgrow in months.

    • ell says:

it’s not pretentious, they don’t have to share. many celeb parents don’t nowadays.

    • L says:

      @ Alix: Yup I agree. 🙄

      • Maria says:

@ Alix – i also totally agree. If you are going to expose your kids (and the need for a 2 months old baby to be there is also debatable) to the cameras, not releasing the second name to me is also pretentious and so self-important.

    • Bonbon says:

The name thing annoys me too. My adult step daughter gave birth in august, knew in advance it was a girl, but continuously professed they “hadn’t decided” up until a week post delivery. Finally she shared the name……a male-ish 1st name and an old lady middle name (without an ounce of family connection.). Even my husband rolled his eyes at the time because the name was just not very good.

I read a new mommy blog that told parents to be that If they were choosing names that might be controversial …to not announce until post birth when the child is here and has been held….because only a cretin will say something negative at that point. But pre birth they may be subject to “oh…..really……are you sure….” blah blah blah

I doubt that’s the motivation here though. It’s just a dumb way to exert power / control and keep the center of attention.

Other than that…..I love this family. So,cute

      • Bashful says:

When I was pregnant, we didn’t tell anyone his name till after he was born. Part of
it was “superstitious” as he was a surprise “miracle” baby, I struggled with infertility for 10 years and didnt want to jinx it.

Both sides of our families had “Name Traditions” and gave us lists of “approved” names. He didn’t get any of those. When my husband told his grandmother our baby’s name she wailed “But it’s not a family name!” My awesome husband responded, “It is now”.

      • Matomeda says:

Ummm I didn’t tell either. I told with my first and got a lot of, “oh.” or “don’t do that to her.” (excuse me?) so we played the Idk game this time. My family also had strong opinions. At one point of nonstop pressure I said well mayyyybeeee we’re thinking X, and they all said they hated it, ignored it, and kept suggesting other names. So we just said ok we don’t know yet then. BUT their baby is here now. So stop being weird and just say the name! Lol

  9. JulP says:

Just here to say their children are adorable! I love James’ curls 🙂

  10. Froggy says:

The oldest looks like her clone and the baby looks like him. Really cute.

  11. sun says:

he’s hustling hard for that Golden Globe

    • Goldie says:

Yeah I was wondering if Ryan had a new movie out soon. It just seems like he’s been doing a lot of press and appearances lately. I just looked at IMDb and his next film isn’t out until March. So I guess you’re right, it’s award hustling.

      Anyway, adorable family.

    • Smoke Artist says:

      Part of the job.

    • QQ says:

Yup There it is Sun….. them front facing good clear shots!… you know they held on as long as they possibly could.. Bless em

  12. Jess says:

That’s the cutest thing I’ve seen in weeks.
Their daughters are adorable, and James is gorgeous. Her curls are to die for!

They look like a beautiful family

  13. Esmom says:

Lovely family. The baby is the spitting image of Ryan, so cute. The older girl is a doll, too.

    • honeybee blues says:

I know that “spitting image” is very common, but in case you’re interested, the actual term is “spirit and image.” It got bastardized over the decades, but I find the original makes a lot more sense. Not trying to be a pedantic ass; I just thought you might find it interesting.

      • Shirleygail says:

@honeybee blues thank you for sharing that tidbit! I DID find it interesting, and had no idea. Also, I really like your call name. Honeybee blues……clever! But sad.

      • Kitten says:

Wow really? That’s so much more beautiful than “spitting image” which is an odd yet commonly-used phrase.
I will use “spirit and image” from now on. Thanks, honeybee!

      • LadyT says:

Very interesting. I appreciate the little lesson.

      • Lady D says:

That’s cool. I’m going to use it too.

      • Esmom says:

honeybee blues, thank for the info, I’d never heard that but I have occasionally wondered where the expression came from. “Spirit and image” does make more sense and sounds a lot nicer.

      • Señorita Awesome says:

I had a relative who used to shorten the term spitting image to “the spit”

For example she would say “Oh he’s the spit of his father’

        Gross.

      • Cali says:

@Honeybee Blues I haven’t laughed so hard in a while so thank you for the correction. I’m an American serial “spitting image” user. I’m sure there are many other phrases That have been butchered throughout history.

    • Luca76 says:

I just see Robyn Lively teen Teen Witch. She looks just like her aunt.

  14. CornyBlue says:

Ryan Reynolds is so thirsty oh my god! Golden globes mean nothing… why is he hustling so much for that damn statue

    • V4Real says:

I was wondering why someone like RDJ has never received a star then I found out the process. You have to submit an application, pay a sponsorship fee along with other criteria. So now I know they just don’t sit around and say let’s give this celeb a star. The celeb has to submit an application or someone has to submit it for them with their permission. I guess RDJ is not as thirsty as Ryan. RDJ also turned down Barbara Walters ‘ The most fascinating people of the year title

      • CornyBlue says:

A lot of actually big celebs dont have stars. Sometimes the studio does it for them, like I heard WB did for Peter Jackson which is a nice sign of respect to a director such as him. But like Ryan has not even done anything to warrant such recognition.

      • anna says:

It annoys me how many flops he got to survive unscathed and how many chances he got to succeed. No man of color or woman in general could even dream to sniff the privilege he’s gotten by on.

I’m extra annoyed to now see him being this shamelessly thirsty for a GG and largely getting a pass on it, given how women going after actual Oscars have been dragged for far less.
There’s multiple stories of him treating lesser cast members and crew like shit, and having no respect for the jobs they do. Complete narcissist, which is generally fine, but his loving family man image doesn’t extend to on set. Basically he’s an asshole.

      • Sam says:

Fox were the ones who sponsored Ryan because of Deadpool. Maybe Disney should do the same for RDJ.

And yea he’s campaigning for an award but hello that’s part of the job and when the Oscars rarely recognize comedies, a Golden Globe is the highest honor a comedy actor is going to get.

I have no issue with any actor or actress who campaigns for an award especially if they’ve worked hard to get that role or worked hard in the production process.

      • Locke Lamora says:

Is he really that bad? I’ve always liked him, he’s a good actor and very funny. And Blake seems nice. Bland, but nice. They are an adorable family.

      • Ramona says:

I remember how shocked I was when I saw Robert DeNiro last year I think. Then I learnt that Denzel, Dicaprio and a whole bunch of other mega stars didnt have one either. It’s clearly just a marker for thirstiest celebs.

@Anna, I agree wholeheartedly. Hollywood gave him undeserved shot after shot. And the obliviousness to his hustling for that GG is baffling. I don’t believe its Fox pushing this either. The studio would be better served with pulling this during the release of the sequel. This is Ryan. His entire career is pegged on Deadpool and he figures that if he can get critical recognition then he has a better shot at other roles.

      • CornyBlue says:

@Sam: I would rather it went to an actual good comedy sorry. If it was something like Nice Guys or What We Do In the Shadows would have been the first to congratulate the HFPA.
@LockeLamora: Blake is bland except the part where she continuously defended child molester Woddy Allen. Very adorable family tho yes.

      • KB says:

You can add Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney to the list of actors without them

      • Yeahright says:

It cost 10,000 bucks and anyone can “sponser” a star.

      • Sam says:

@CornyBlue whether you think Deadpool is good or not is a matter of opinion. Clearly enough folks find it to be good comedy considering the film itself got nominated as well as Ryan. The studio behind The Nice Guys didn’t push for their film to be nominated. Fox did. But there’s no use arguing with you folks. Ryan sponsored his own star and got his movie nominated. Even though the folks from Fox were on hand to give Ryan the Star, are his sponsors and are pushing Deadpool the movie during awards season. It’s not just Ryan on his own. He’s got a big studio backing him up. He’s their new face for their X-men franchise now that Hugh is leaving so they’re pushing to make him a bigger star.

    • LOLADOESTHEHULA says:

@Anna you summed up all of my feelings about him so perfectly. Actresses can’t even get pregnant without being accused of exploiting their foetuses for awards. He’s as thirsty and insufferable as his insensitive bimbo wife. I can’t stand either of them.

  15. SusanneToo says:

Aaaaawwww, so cute. James is a charmer. The whole family looks beautiful and happy, congratulations to them.

  16. marshmellow says:

    Aww. Baby Deadpools…

  17. Kate says:

Very cute family. Someone should introduce James to Prince George !

  18. anonymous says:

Very beautiful family. James and her sister are the perfect mix of Blake and Ryan. Blake could have picked a more flattering dress.

  19. ell says:

i think this is adorable, and i’m not one to get all soppy over babies or pretty families at all. i just love how they dressed their girls, they look so cool and not ridiculously girly. i want to like these two so much (and i’ve basically grown up with gossip girl so even more), if only i could forget some of the stupid things blake said about working with woody allen. i need brain bleaching.

  20. Scar says:

It’s all for the golden globes baby. Beyoncé, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie does not have those stars so it can’t really mean much.
Being all over the place, having shady clap backs for “haters”, being too animated, smoking weed in public doesn’t automatically make a great personality. Pretty sure that child doesn’t have more personality than either of her parents. That’s just the average two year old for you. The “personality” thing irks me because someone like Rihanna gets applauded for having soo much personality cos she claps back on Instagram and smokes weed for everyone to see but then she opens her mouth and says Rachel Dolezal is a hero and proves she’s only fronting. And look at Jennifer Lawrence, she totally thinks that telling fake, self-deprecating stories means she has a personality but it’s still a front. Blake and Ryan gave great personalities and they don’t have to be too animated to prove it

    • Frannydays says:

Yea, but you’re comparing adults to a baby. This little girl has tons of personalities than other two year olds. There are a lot of two year olds who are reserved and shy and will just cling to their parents in public

      • Scar says:

        There

      • Scar says:

There are a lot if two year old’s who cling to their parents and are generally day why some are like Lynette’s kids on Desperate Housewives and none is better than the other. So I’ve never understood why the noisy in your face person is said to have a better personality than the reserved person. They are afterall personalities peculiar to one

  21. Rhiley says:

The children are completely adorable. I think James looks a lot like her dad. She totally has his eyes and mouth. That hair is to die for. Hollywood is gonna come a knockin’, trying to make her the next Shirley Temple.

  22. Joni says:

Those kids are adorable! Beautiful family.

  23. Cari says:

Is it just me, or does Blake look completely uncomfortable in that dress?

    • Tough Cookie says:

“My husband is getting a star on the Walk of Fame!! Look at my boobs!!”

I actually sort of like them even though they are SO THIRSTY.

The whole anonymous baby thing cracks me up.

  24. I Choose Me says:

Those kids are adorable. I like them together as a couple and I really hope they go the distance.

    • Smoke Artist says:

Hustling to be the new Brangelina perhaps? Admist all the celebrity deaths and the election result the bloodthirsty psychopath that is 2016 hasn’t gotten enough credit for taking out Brangelina.

  25. Jackrabbit says:

Perhaps they don’t have a name picked/registered for the baby yet? I know a couple who took months to name their baby – when they had him out in public they would just refer to him as “the baby” or use the name they had picked for the middle name. I’m not sure how long parents typically get but they were able to have an extension granted because the husband travels so much – I believe in the end they had just over three months and decided on the name just days before the government would step in and assign one! I could never be so laid back – I knew the sex of our kids and had their names picked months in advance of their births : )

    • Shirleygail says:

We struggled mightily to name our son. My dad was Joseph Michael and my hubbie was Thomas Joseph so I wanted Joseph Thomas Michael Sawyer, but he’d have none of it. My girlfriend was musing and said if she’d ever had a boy she would have called him Daniel and that was it! My surname is his middle name, with Sawyer as his surname. We were being threatened also, with social services for abandonment, because we couldn’t settle on a name for our son immediately. Created unnecessary stress and pressure. My girlfriend ended up applying to change her son’s name, because after 3 months they realized it wasn’t what they wanted. Sometimes you need to get to know the person before naming them…….

  26. HappyMom says:

They’re cute children. But I hate the way they’re dressed. I’m a traditionalist and I think a little dress, tights and mary janes on their oldest would have been perfect. (And Blake is super girly in her dress-they don’t match styles.)

    • Maria says:

same here. If you dress up for the occasion, you should also dress up the kid. It looks weird on pics… 🙂 but of course it’s a minor detail

    • Marianne says:

Maybe her little girl is more of a tomboy and more comfortable in what she’s ulitmately wearing?

      • HappyMom says:

She’s 2. And be the parents. My kids hate dressing up too. But there are occasions where you wear appropriate, dressy clothing. You can change after the event.

      • Bread and Circuses says:

Eh, I agree with you, Marianne. No, kids shouldn’t be shoehorned into the role of props. And the parents letting their kid dress comfortably ARE “being the parents”. It’s not up to random bystanders to say how the kids should be dressed.

    • Alyce says:

I think James has an adorable outfit that she clearly likes wearing. Better that then a “fancy” dress that she hates and tries to pull off during the ceremony.

  27. Patty says:

Their kids look like kids to me. It’s weird to hear small children described as gorgeous / beautiful. I usually go with cute.

Nothing wrong with James look. Her outfit is perfectly fine. She’s a toddler, it’s possible she doesn’t like dresses or the parents know her activity level and a dress wouldn’t work. Jeez.

    • HappyMom says:

For a 1 hour event she can wear a dress and tights. She’s not at a park.

      • Chingona says:

James looks perfectly fine and happy. If you prefer for your children to dress up that is great. You saying above “be the parents” is a bit much. If they let their daughter choose what she wants to wear or want her to be comfortable, that doesn’t make them less of a parent.

  28. astrid says:

what’s the weather like in Hollyweird? She’s in a summery dress and he looks to be wearing a pea coat.

  29. Sage says:

Selling the family life for a GG and a new movie.

  30. Marianne says:

GAAHHH! I just love the curly hair!

  31. Thaisajs says:

Babies! Love this. More James and the baby (and less of Boobs McChesty).

  32. Maureen says:

James is a little blonde Teen Witch!!!! Blake’s gene pool totally beat out Ryan’s.

  33. Barbara says:

    Many outlets posted this
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-4039346/Blake-Lively-s-eldest-daughter-Ryan-Reynolds-spitting-image-mom.html
It looks like James is the spirit and image (thanks to someone upthread ho taught me that) of Blake when she was a kid.
It’s no secret I love both Ryan and Blake, so I tend to be biased about the kids and I don’t think either of them is anything special physically… they are a beautiful family in the sense families should be beautiful There’s a lot of love there and his speech about her was simply amazing. Men – especially in Hollywood ever get so vocal in admiring their wives and going out there saying who much of a difference they did in their lives. Absolutely beautiful.

  34. kimbers says:

Is it beedy or beety eyes? Whichever it is ryan has them, and so do the kids…but the kids are cuter with beety eyes. Blake’s eyes are better

    • Unakaiansa says:

Beady, as in they (the eyes) look like little beads.

(Unless it’s a spitting image/spirit and image thing I’m unaware of.)

  35. MellyMel says:

    Those curls!!! So freakin cute!

  36. Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Awww, James is too cute performing for the paps. They are such a lovely family.

  37. hmmm says:

James is a girl, right? This is very confusing. Lovely looking family.

  38. Bread and Circuses says:

ACTUALLY, James looks so much like her dad. Go back and look at that “Taymerica” photo where Ryan Reynolds claimed his pained expression was due to his “resting dying-man” face.

That’s the face James is making in the top photo. She’s got “resting dying-man” face too!

And yes, these are the awesomest Walk of Fame photos because James is a wiggly, grinning, dancing imp and the baby is a chubby blob of Judgement Baby (i.e. it looks like she’s judging it all and is thus far deeply unimpressed.)

  39. CityGirl says:

That is a such a nice, happy looking family!
And it looks like Riley Curry might have some competition, although truthfully I don’t think anyone could really upstage Riley Curry’s upstaging of her dad!
    Whatever, Feel Good Friday

  40. hogtowngooner says:

It’s a shameless photo-op/GG hustle for Ryan but they really do look like a loving family. James is adorable and bursting with personality. Blake’s dress looks amazing on her.

  41. L says:

You give birth 3 months ago and your dress will be hella tight to! Geeze Louise cut her some slack

Blake’s figure is great but I don’t care for the dress. It looks like a disco mall dress from 1978, and too much boobage for the occasion.

Lol, they’re adorable! Love how James is jumping around with the microphone. I think they have another performer in the family…

I like that they brought the family out 🙂

  44. Fiorella says:

I like the squishy one! Blake looks perfect as usual. Ryan is not my type ever.

  45. May says:

That baby is just too squishy and perfect. It almost gives me the baby fever – almost.

  46. Freddy Spaghetti says:

Those kids are adorable! And I suspect Blake’s dress is tight through the chest because she’s probably still nursing.

Any guy who names his daughter James should be forced to change his own name to Gladys. Think of the problems the poor kid is going to have!

I prefer girly names or maybe cool neutral like Sloan or Manon. But James is fine. Love it for a boy but their is at least one supermodel with it for a first name I think and some other celebs have used it. I mean it’s soooo much better than wyatt and her mom has been fine as a Blake. Why lovely MILA would use Wyatt is beyond me though

But she is going to go through life having to explan “no I’m female” and it will cause confusion on application forms for anything.
