Prince Harry ‘is more serious’ about Meghan than any other other girlfriend

wenn29644611

Two Sundays ago, Meghan Markle unexpectedly flew to London to spend some time with her boyfriend-lover Prince Harry. The tabloids insisted that Meghan and Harry were going to go on vacation together after Christmas, but apparently they couldn’t wait to see each other. Meghan ended up spending a full week with Harry in London, and now she’s flown back home, although I’m not sure if that means Toronto or LA. According to the Daily Mail, Harry even dropped her off at Heathrow.

Prince Harry’s American actress girlfriend Meghan Markle has been spotted leaving Britain after enjoying a getaway in London with the young royal. The California-born actress left London yesterday after spending a romantic week with the prince, who personally dropped her off at Heathrow airport before she boarded her flight. Meghan, who appeared to be in good spirits, was accompanied by airline staff prior to boarding her flight, while the prince was flanked by five police protection officers.

[From The Daily Mail]

I think that’s sort of sweet. Harry seems to want to be part of a “normal couple,” regardless of his princely title. He wants to nest at her apartment with her dogs. He wants to drop her off at the airport himself. He wants to go Christmas-tree-shopping with her. As for how he really feels, sources tell E! News that this is the most serious Harry has even been about a lady.

Things are certainly heating up between Prince Harryand Meghan Markle. A source shares brand new details about the couple, telling E! News exclusively that the redheaded royal’s relationship with the Suits star is far more than a casual fling. “Harry is more serious [about Meghan] then he ever has been about a woman before,” the insider reveals.

Additionally, the source confirms previous outlets’ reports that Meghan has indeed met big brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as their two young children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. As for Meghan coming face to face with Queen Elizabeth II, Harry hasn’t taken it quite to that level just yet.

[From E! News]

Is this really the most serious he’s ever been about a girl? Harry and Chelsy Davy were together for years and years and they were reportedly very much in love. So while I do think that Harry and Chelsy were very serious about each other, I also think that relationship was different because they got together when they were so young. They “grew up” together, you know? The thing with Meghan is different because it started when Harry and Meghan are both well into their 30s. It’s a different dynamic altogether.

ENOUGH PLEASE…. CAN WE BREATHE. ARRRRGH
TOO MANY STORIES ABOUT THIS TWO

    • INeedANap says:

At this point I am only going to get hype if they actually get engaged, with an official announcement from KP.

Then the game is on! A biracial American princess in England! A thousand fanfics just came to life.

      • Vox says:

She wouldn’t be a princess, though. It would be nice to see Harry marry someone he genuinely adores and who has charisma and charm, unlike Kate and William. I don’t think her being American means anything, the royals have married outside of the UK since the inception of the monarchy. They’ve even married people who weren’t white before.

I agree, we don’t need a new story every day on these two.

    • Laurenlauren says:

      It’s getting a little overkill!

    • Nancy says:

Amen on that. This guy is over thirty and is being portrayed as some teenager with his first love. Harry’s been around the block a few times. He should do what feels right and shut up or at least the press should. Starting to be like Kim frigging Kardashian.

    • LO says:

Seriously! Why are there multiple new stories about them every day?? People are going nuts! If they get engaged, they get engaged. Until then people need to chill.

    • seesittellsit says:

IKR? It’s like Hiddleswift all over again, with the same people assuring us all that this is the Real Deal And She Wants to Have Babies with Him and He is About to Propose.

      Oooops!

I must say, Harry is starting to seem Past His Good Looks Sell Date lately – balding, frazzled. Both he and Wills lost their looks somewhere around 30. At his age, relationships with whomever SHOULD start looking more like relationships than flings; doesn’t guarantee anything but at least it looks grownup . . .

    • Amy says:

Totally feel the opposite, if anyone is listening! This is the feel good story of the year (for me). I love them together and am eating it up! Blessings on them!

    • TyrantDestroyed says:

All this coverage reminds me Taylor Swift and her last boyfriend…

  2. Redgrl says:

True that it’s different when you meet as adults… will be interesting to see what happens. Would be great if they upstaged Willnot & Kannot – and in a genuine, charity, goodwill way, not a tabloid-fodder way…

    • Harla Jodet says:

All Meghan has to do to upstage Kate is stand up straight and walk with her hands at her sides but yeah I hope she continues to do her charity and UN work.

      • Mary Mary says:

Her beauty, fashion sense, poise followed by the media frenzy has pushed K to the next queue.

Phase #2 would be charity work for the #1 spot.

  3. justsaying says:

The comments about these two are more negative than positive on British websites.

    • Melly says:

I don’t understand the hate being directed towards Meghan. I have to assume it’s a race thing, because she seems perfectly nice and financially independent.

      • Frannydays says:

I don’t understand it either. She seems so nice and she’s so gorgeous.

      • justsaying says:

Many don’t like it that she is a 35-year-old American (d-list) actress who is divorced.

      • Ramona says:

The front is “she is too old” and “previously married” but they are fine with Camilla apparently. The real problem is that she is mixed race with liberal feminist politics possibly headed into this conservative institution. Their heads will collectively explode if/when Meghan turns up with an engagement ring.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Brexit has made all the racist trolls more confident in polluting the internet with their ‘views’. Bear in mind that on the Fail website it has a large international ‘fan’ base who post on the site.

      • perplexed says:

I wonder if it’s partly (not all of the reason, but partly) because she’s a bit sexier than what we’re used to seeing from a royal. Her glamor is kind of intimidating in pictures, I think. Kate is pretty too, but I think it’s more of an accessible kind of pretty. Her thinness isn’t necessarily accessible, but her lack of charisma kind of is. Even in that lingerie runway photo, she looks kind of bland. Whereas Meghan is kind of a…bombshell? maybe? (In a way, she kind of has to be because she’s an actress). I’m not saying she’s the greatest beauty of all time (despite being very pretty), but she has that sexy thing that actresses have and even the prettiest British royals don’t.

Even though Harry is really charming, I guess I didn’t expect him to land someone this “hot.” I thought he’d end up with someone like Chelsy (not necessarily blond, but, you know, less hot). Diana, for all her world-renowned beauty, didn’t really date hot guys. Maybe I expected Harry to land somewhere in the same ballpark.

      • kimbers says:

My hate stems from the media painting her as some amazing A list actress to try to make it seem like she’s a catch, when she’s more of a B-/C+ She could use some coaching is all.

I like that she’s a thrill girl, otherwise harry would have moved on, and she can keep his attention.

      • valkenburg says:

Everyone freaked out and said horrible things about Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas, too. They were both very white. But of course people have to assume it’s racism.

      • milla says:

most people do not even know she is half black.

the Brits called Davy a pig. People hated Kate Middleton when she was still in college. it is nothing personal.

we still call Kate Middleton names, even though most of us do not pay British taxes. our view of a royal family is different than reality.

the fact is that many people assume that she is using him for publicity. they did the same with every girl he ever met…

      • Mary Mary says:

I thought it was an American actress issue. If she was a beautiful black British theatrical actress instead of a beautiful black American actress there would not be an issue?

Does anyone think it is because she is American and the British Royal fans cannot stand the idea of an American wedded into the British Royal family?

    • Harper says:

I am sure Harry is losing sleep at night over that. LOL He clearly doesn’t care and neither does she.

I’m starting to believe we will see a royal wedding in the next year or two.

      • Sara says:

Could be but whether royal fans like it or not the RF needs the approval of the public. I have read some “we need Brexit for the monarchy” comments. Don’t think it can’t happen because people also thought Brexit or President Trump would never happen.

      • Harper says:

“The public” is not synonymous with online posters. The majority of citizens aren’t sitting around posting nasty comments about royals or who they’re dating.

      • notasugahrere says:

As long as she works, the public isn’t going to have a problem with it if MM joins the royal family. The only problem would be if she turned out to be as lazy as Middleton. Seeing as MM already works, supports herself, and knows how to give professional speeches? She’d be a welcome addition to the Family Firm.

      • Baker says:

@Harper: She can’t keep working as an actress if she’d marry him.

      • Harper says:

@Baker I know. I don’t think she would have a problem giving up acting. Hollywood isn’t very kind to actresses as they age and she’s in her mid 30s. It would be a struggle for her to find good roles after Suits anyway.

      • seesittellsit says:

I’m already designing the dress. I’m thinking something kind of retro, like the one Elizabeth Taylor wore to her (first) wedding to Nicky Hilton – Taylor was only 18 at the time, but the dress was very, um, grownup.

    • suze says:

Internet trolls hate professionally, plus it’s a good place for those closet racists to vent their spleen.

I think in the real world, the vast majority neither know nor care who Harry dates.

  4. Talie says:

This is his probably his first “grown-up” relationship. Meghan is not a coddled upper-class young lady…she has been on her own and been making her own money for some time, has lived life, been married before, etc.

    • notasugahrere says:

      +1

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

I think thats part of the attraction – she is her own woman and one who would be able to adapt to Royal life. She is used to the media attention that comes with being a successful actress and has causes she works for but the question is, is she willing to give it all up? Yes I think she is, thou I also think if she wanted to continue to act in some way the family wouldn’t stand in her way (as long as its a role that wouldn’t embarrass them). The family need to modernise and they are a couple that could do that.

Good luck to them, I personally think they are a great couple and she would be a great asset to the RF.

I don’t know much about her and i know there has been negative stories about her from family members but we should give her a chance.

      • LO says:

Having a job and supporting herself is not synonymous with being able to adapt to royal life. I also have a job and support myself but I know I’d have trouble. She’d have to give up both acting and her lifestyle blog. You live in a fish bowl and have zero anonymity and privacy. Did you see the DM article over the weekend with the side bar about what Harry was listening to on his music app. That’s so nuts!! Every little thing you do is open for criticism. Every thing your family does is open for criticism. You no longer are allowed to express opinions. You have to live in Britain. Etc.

Yes they have untold privilege and wealth, but I imagine it’s not an easy life to adapt to if you aren’t used to it and didn’t grow up with the monarchy as part of your culture. If this is the life Meghan chooses I sincerely wish her luck, and I hope she finds Harry is worth it.

      • notasugarhere says:

Maxima, Letizia, Mathilde, Daniel. All strong, career-oriented people who gave up their everyday lives for the royal fishbowl. And are doing just fine. Letizia has been basically crucified for years and she’s doing great in her role.

Marry the person you love – even if they are royal, live an amazingly posh life, and spend your time working for charity. As long as they are a strong pairing, they can survive the negative external forces.

      • suze says:

The European royals have far more privacy than the Brits. Nobody cares what Daniel does in his down time. The Dutch press is very easy on their royals. The Belgians are truly obscure outside their own country. Even the Spanairds, who face a critical national press and public, escape scrutiny in the international arena.

Marriage to Harry would be far, far different.

Not to say she couldn’t do it, but it will require a very thick skin. She is only getting a taste of the scrutiny now.

      • LO says:

I’m happy that all those people mentioned were able to find fulfillment in their royal roles. I hope that if Meghan and Harry decide to marry she too will find happiness and fulfillment in her role, but that still doesn’t mean that any person with a job who works and supports themselves wants and would adapt easily to that life. For example Chelsy worked and decided that royal life wasn’t for her. It’s not a life for everyone.

      • notasugarhere says:

suze, you must not be familiar with the Spanish forum completely dedicated to attacking Letizia. She has faced it all, from the yellow press, for 12 years. What W&K face is cake next to what Letizia has been through.

  5. QQ says:

*sits here with the popcorn* watching from the sidelines with great delicious interest

  6. ViXi says:

It could be true. Not sure about Meghan’s priorities though. Hope she’s not a heart breaker.

    • Maria says:

Maybe she wouldn’t intend to break his heart, but when she comes up against this wall that is the BRF, it could be a different story. On the one hand, I want it to work, on the other I want to tell her to run like hell.

      • Ramona says:

I want to tell her to run sometimes too but I think Will and Kates “eff off” attitude at the BRF may were work for Meghan. They really need at least one of Dis princes to play ball and pissing Harry off doesnt help with that. I think the media and the internet in general will be the biggest pests.

      • Olenna says:

I’m with you, Maria. I’ve said it before, I wish them well but she needs to run.

  7. Senaber says:

She is really beautiful and she seems to have a great personality. I like them together very much.

    • Her Indoors says:

As an incredibly ordinary Brit, all I can say is I hope they are very happy together. I haven’t met one person who thinks differently. There is a lot of love for Harry and if Megan is the one, fantastic!

  8. Mrs.Curious says:

What next hint about their relationship will she post/upload on IG?

  9. sorrybutnotsorry says:

Meghan and Harry have the same big nose lol.

  10. cindyp says:

Is it me or does she sort of resemble Pippa? For some reason, I’m getting that vibe from The Sun pic.

  11. JMO says:

The Daily Fail has new pictures of Prince Harry and he is really looking scruffy lately..

    • Ramona says:

He has been holed up for the last week banging madly and passionately day and night to make up for lost time. Scruffy sounds about right 🙂

  12. suze says:

I am sure Harry and Meghan are telling insiders the secrets of their hearts lol.

I am also sure that Meghan can stand on her own merits. No need to compare her with ghosts of girlfriends past.

I think flying back and forth indicates some degree of seriousness for sure.

  13. Elaine says:

Sorry to thread jack, but did y’all see this whitewashing of Meghan?!

Ok, so our girl is biracial, has a light cocoa color, is considered a POC. And who do they get to play her?! Some white model, who, though lovely, is so very obviously, um *white*very .

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/christmas/2016/12/18/behind-scenes-prince-harry-meghans-christmas-party/

So if Harry can’t date a white girl, that’s not a problem -we’ll just pretend she is! Ugh.

  14. CityGirl says:

I choose to believe. I can’t wait for their wedding :o)

  15. Adele Dazeem says:

I love them together! Keep it coming!

That being said, I couldn’t sleep the other night so I threw on a “Suits” episode from the cable box. Very soap opera-y. I expected it to be a little more “Law and Order” and a little less “Days of our Lives.”

Long story short I don’t think we need to worry about her not choosing Harry because of her television career. She definitely wasn’t the worst part of it (that would be the writing and the directing) but I was a little disappointed.

    • swak says:

I watched Suits when I had cable. It’s maybe more like LA Law (never watched it) – about a lawyer’s firm and not really about catching the bad guy.

    • AG-UK says:

I liked at first (season 1/2 ) but then it just got ridiculous and I love Laurence Fishburnes wife who plays Jessica (especially her wardrobe) but couldn’t see that in the “real” lawyer world, I think this season needs to be it. Actually surprised its still on.

  16. Crumpet says:

I like these two together. She is really beautiful – I mean – breathtakingly cute, if that makes sense. And the babies they would have together….. oh man.

  17. Indira says:

I’m probably the only one here but I don’t think she is beautiful like some people do.

  18. Guest says:

Lol. I’m enjoying it. The dm comments don’t like her, and the royal dish had to shut there thread on her down. Now they are taken their frustrations out on harry and trashing him. She’s gorgeous, seems to want to do charity work, has her own identity, friends, and life. Yet to some she’s not good enough. I hope he marries her at this point, just to watch the meltdowns.

    • Kitty says:

      Eh something off about her.

    • notasugahrere says:

Guest, you know the level of OTT Meghan-bashing is outrageous when somewhere as negative as RoyalDish shuts down all discussion about her.

      • curious says:

        Is RoyalDish so horrible?

      • notasugarhere says:

Is some sections, yes, in others they aren’t that bad. RoyalGossip is the truly awful one, IMO, but they have saved full-text of many whitewashed KM articles that you can’t find anywhere else.

      • curious says:

Royal Gossip has some not so nice pics of Kate… and I’m not talking just about her face ^^

      • lobbit says:

The fact that so many of harry’s fans/supporters can so easily write off all the humanitarian work the man does for wounded vets and high risk aids populations – just because they don’t like his girlfriend?! I think it’s really sad.

    • oce says:

Please, please hurry and get married. and have babies like bunnies!! hahhahaa,!!, The meltdown will be SO So epic for all the racists, lol. (grabs popcorn and latest copy of “Uptown” Magazine for this amazing show) #BlackGirlMagic

      • Guest says:

They have turned on him so fast ever since he started dating meghan on royaldish. Talking about how he loves africa so much but doesn’t talk about uk, and about how he brings up his mom’s death just like William.

    • N.Lopez says:

      +1000

  19. Kitty says:

UGH the media says the same thing with Chelsy and Cressida.

  20. Baker says:

I’ve the feeling that a lot of young people don’t care about the monarchy, it will all end when QE II’s is gone anyway – one way or another. Many people don’t have much respect for Charles or his son.

    • Carey says:

I think you’re right. Once the Queen dies the monarchy will change radically. It may not go away completely but the Royals will get drastically less financial support from taxpayers than they do now and a lot of the rituals will be cut back or die out altogether.

I like Meghan for Harry because she enjoys the spotlight, is poised and articulate and is already very active in charity work. Seems like a good fit for the Firm.

    • Harper says:

The monarchy is still very popular and while QE is the most respected and admired member, Harry is becoming the most lovable of the bunch. His relationship with Meghan could really benefit the monarchy after QE leaves us.

      • IMO says:

It seems that Harry’s popularity in the UK suffers since people know about his relationship to Meg.

      • notasugarhere says:

His popularity among the teen and twentysomething fandom on tumblr who wanted him for themselves, yes. The real world? Him dating MM is not a problem.

      • Kitty says:

@IMO, yep his popularity have suffered.

      • Sixer says:

If I asked either of the Sixlets to tell me which royal will be the next king, I’d just get a blank stare. I say this all the time on here but it’s true. Beyond people who read celebrity magazines, nobody cares. You might get a bit of “Well, Her Maj has put in years of service” or “HOW MUCH?” for Buck House repairs, but that really is it.

Since commenting on this site, I’ve been flabbergasted to discover the interest from Americans. I really had no idea.

      • Harper says:

@notasugarhere Agreed. I think some just desperately want to believe Harry’s popularity is suffering because they don’t like his girlfriend. A very biased, short-sighted view.

      • Meg D says:

No, I don’t agree. I’m British, and Prince Harry is pretty popular here. He certainly has not become less popular, if anything this has increased his popularity here. It’s only the tiny number of obsessed stans and racists flooding every forum they can find that give the false impression this relationship is unpopular. I know a few people who really dislike him, but they all dislike him either because they disagree with the monarchy, or because of the Nazi thing.

But for the most part, Brits just don’t care that much about the monarchy. For some reason Americans and people from certain other countries go absolutely nuts for them, and I think you guys would be surprised if you ever visited Britain, so see how uninterested the average Brit really is.

  21. oce says:

Long live the Queen! And Long live Prince Harry and his future Black Prince-Bride, lolol!! Yeeeeesssss! #BlackGirlMagic

  22. Monroe says:

It’s really funny to me when people question if she’s willing to give up her career to be with Harry. I’m like she’s the fourth billed supporting character on a cable show. It’s not like she’s Jennifer Lawrence or someone equally as popping. It would actually be a step up- “profession wise” if she ends up with him in the end. She became the most googled actress just by dating him and even if they break up next year she will always be in the celeb news just like how Daryl Hannah was when she was dating JFK Jr. When Daryl’s movie relevance was gone she was kept relevant by her past dating life.

    • Luca76 says:

Oh yeah if they marry she could be on the covers of any and every major magazine . Full pictorials in Vogue, Vanity Fair etc a majorly stepped up role with the UN. That’s not going to happen from her cheesy USA show. But there’s also the dark side the behind the scenes royal rivalries (Charles would probably hate to have an influential daughter in law just like he was so jealous of Diana). She wouldn’t just be marrying one person.

    • Sixer says:

He’s the fifth billed supporting character in a thousand year old soap opera!

    • perplexed says:

I don’t think she has a Jennifer Lawrence type career, but I think she does have a career that seems stable enough by acting standards. When you consider that so few people succeed in acting, I do think that her success rate isn’t bad. I don’t know what she’ll do when Suits is over, but with Netflix around she could probably land in something else. And just getting a job in acting seems like career success to me.

Being married to Harry would bring fame and relevancy, but I don’t necessarily think that equals having the career she has now, even if she was lesser-known before she met him.

      • Monroe says:

I half agree with you…. She has a nice career and has more success than a large majority of actors in LA. There’s a saying…. (I just made up) If you’re a working actor then you are successful. But on the other hand, we all know countless actors who were supporting characters on mid-level shows and when the shows ends they can’t get arrested. As it stands now I think if she never started dating Harry she would be forgotten as soon as her show ended. Suits is her most famous and steady gig and Suits is not Breaking Bad. But the Harry factor ensures that she will get another acting job. Hell I know she recently filmed a movie and the producers are currently re-editing it to make her role more prominent.

I don’t want to seem like I’m bashing her or looking down at her career but it stands out to me when people act like her “giving up her career” would be this big sacrifice. I think losing her privacy and having to live your life governed by a committee would be the actually sacrifice.

She will be losing her privacy and independence and that I would whole heartedly agree with but career wise NOPE.

      • perplexed says:

She would get more jobs as Harry’s wife. It’s just not clear to me whether she’d be allowed to take them, though.

Who knows. Maybe the Queen as she gets older doesn’t care anymore or maybe the rules have been relaxed since the Queen Mum died.

She doesn’t have relevancy without Harry, but career-wise she seems to have a comfortable enough life that I think she probably has a set of savings on which to draw from. So overall, I think her life pre-Harry sounds kind of cushy. The fact that she was even able to meet him suggests to me her life was kind of enviable from a regular person’s standpoint. I don’t know if everyone really aspires to relevancy either. I just want a comfortable life — I don’t know if I care whether I’m relevant or not. I think it’s possible she could have the same attitude, especially since she doesn’t fit the same mold that Hollywood looks for in stars like Jennifer Lawrence (i.e blonde, white). Simply dating Harry will help her in the end if she DOESN’T marry him, but I do think she’d be giving up a professional career she likes if she were to go down the aisle. She probably even likes hustling for jobs. I have no idea why you’d become an actress if you don’t.

      • Finn says:

I actually think that becoming a princess wouldn’t be a bad choice for her. Sure she has a nice job now, but being biracial actress approaching 40 is not exactly the recipe to get great roles whenever Suits ends. She likes doing charity/activist type of work, so why not get a job for life doing that, along with all the other perks of royalty, lots of time to spend with your future babies and not wondering where you can get your next gig while juggling family etc.

  23. jane says:

I sincerely believe that for many men it’s almost all about timing. It’s like a switch is flicked: they’re ready. And the next girl can suddenly become the one. All previous doubts and cold feet and ifing and whating fade away as they feel the “ready” and it becomes a singular goal to follow through.
