LeAnn Rimes and husband selling their Nashville home

LeAnn Rimes and her “hubby” Dean Sheremet are selling their $7.45 million home in Nashville. Her reps are claiming that it’s because they are spending most of their time in NY and LA working on their (her) career. A “friend” of LeAnn’s is quick to point out that the sale has nothing to do with her cheating ways, but I think it may be a way to start getting rid of their mutual financial burdens. The house was completed in 2008, so it’s not as if the home has any emotional significance for the couple.

“LeAnn and Dean’s home is on the market,” the singer/actress’s rep confirms of the $7.45 million property, which was completed in 2008 and features six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, plus exercise and media rooms.

The decision to sell is not related to reports that Rimes, 26, had an affair with her Lifetime TV-movie co-star Eddie Cibrian, 35, a friend of the country singer tells PEOPLE.

“LeAnn and Dean decided to put their home on the market because she’s been spending more time in L.A. [where the couple also have a home] and New York,” says the friend. “She’s been receiving more offers in the film, TV and theater worlds, so they want to have a footprint in all three cities.” Rimes is currently recording a new country album, due this fall, in Nashville.

Rimes and Sheremet, 28, are committed to their relationship, which still has its ups and downs, says Rimes’s friend. “[LeAnn and Dean] are still having challenges and trying to work through them. They’re working on their marriage.”

LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian were seen recently on what was called a “date” at a Laker’s game where neither of their significant others were in attendance, but LeAnn’s “friend” is saying that it was a chance encounter and not planned. That may be true, but don’t you think if there nothing were going on, they would be careful and not speak to each other – especially because they just know there are paparazzi following them around? Just a thought.

I’m betting this marriage won’t last more than a few months longer. Any marriage with a cheating partner is difficult, but this one is being played out in the public eye. And though LeAnn thinks people are interested in the story because she’s famous, it’s really all about the train wreck just waiting to happen.

Okay. Rumours have been around for YEARS about Dean being gay and them getting married to get her away from her controlling father, from what I remember. I’m not surprised that as she’s gotten older she’s decided that she doesn’t want to be a beard anymore.

Dang, for a moment there I thought it was Gwenyth Paltrow until I noticed she was smiling and looking happy.

Dang, a friend just pointed out her house to me the other day. I’m not sure it’s worth almost 7.5 mil though.

    Looks like an interesting read!

I have heard LeAnne in an interview say that they have been building a new custom house on some land out in the country. It seems to be the “in” spot for Nashville stars to live.

I enjoyed the pictures of the house. I pass it all the time and saw that “Cribs” episode too. Staged yes, but more homey than most of the country stars houses I’ve seen in the magazines.
