When Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott gush to the press about their love for each other I’m reminded of this first person account MSat pointed out to me. McDermott’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, detailed how she was coldly dumped by her husband of 12 years for for Tori right after they adopted a baby girl. He told her, “[Tori and I are] soulmates. She loves me unconditionally” while Eustace countered “You’ve know each other three weeks…. we just adopted a baby.” McDermott told her “I’m not leaving the kids, I’m leaving you.” They also have an 11 year-old son together, Jack, with whom they share joint custody.
So when I heard that McDermott got another tattoo for Tori to represent their “undying love” it made me think that he’s a selfish ass and that he and Tori deserve each other. At least this tattoo is of something other than Tori’s mug. He also has a tattoo of Tori’s face on his left tricep, a gothic cross with “Tori girl” down it on his left forearm, and a photo of an Angel’s ass with the the words “Truly, Madly, Deeply Tori” on his right forearm. Dean McDermott had so many ways he wanted to celebrate Tori Spelling’s 36th birthday that he took a long weekend to do them all.
On May 14, the actor surprised his wife with a new tattoo: A large Koi fish symbolizing Tori, a tiger representing Dean, and three baby Koi fish for Liam, 2, Stella, 11 months, and (McDermott’s son from a previous marriage) Jack, 10. The tattoo also featured peonies, which stand for health and prosperity, and the word “forever.”
“I did it to profess my undying love for my gorgeous wife and beautiful children,” McDermott says of the creation, which took Tim Hendricks at Spotlight Tattoo in Hollywood seven hours to complete. “She loved it when I revealed it to her. She thinks it’s beautiful, chic and sexy.”
The following day – Tori’s actual birthday – McDermott whisked her off for a weekend at hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica. And Saturday night, it was time for a party at the Vicery hotel, including a birthday cake from Hansen’s Cakes. Says McDermott: “She was totally surprised when she saw all her friends there. It was awesome and she had a wonderful time.”
The weekend was capped off with a surfing lesson on Sunday morning. “When we were flying home from Canada, where we first met [on the set of the 2006 TV movie Mind Over Murder], we wrote down everything we wanted to do together,” says McDermott. “Surfing was one of them and I wanted her to have that experience.”
“I wanted her to have a special birthday because she’s the love of my life,” he says of the weekend. “She deserves the world.”

Tori was also married when she met Dean and recently described the first time she saw him on the set of a Lifetime movie they co-starred in together as “like a million blocks of hearts just fell on me,” conveniently forgetting to mention that they were both married at the time. That’s sweet if Dean is so into pampering her and proclaiming his love, but it’s hard to forget how these two hooked up and all the people they hurt in the process. Dean also buys Tori a ring for every year they’ve been married. I wonder if she’ll keep collecting them or if his love will fade and he’ll move on to some other “soul mate,” saying she understands him so much better. He’s going to have a lot of tattoos to re-do if that happens.

He alwys ments her appearance/beauty when he talks about her– si that like, the only reason he ‘loves’ her or something… or is it that he loves her so uch thats the way he sees her…. I would like the chance to observe them as a couple… so I could draw my own conclusions about these two.
Three little koi for his kids? Umm… I’m not so great at math but doesn’t he have two kids with the ex and two with Tori, for a total of four?

Ya, what about the wife and kids he left behind to have an affair with Tori… does he even see them ever? Does he have tattoos of them? What a loser. Don’t like him at all. I can’t believe she had 2 kids with a man who left his other wife and kids for her! I would think that she would think it showed a lack of character on his part. Stupid humans.
That’s a good rule: Never get a tattoo without planning a “cover-up” tattoo for after the breakup (Think “Wino Forever”).

I also heard that his first wife urged him to get close to Tori because she was Aaron Spelling’s daughter in order to boost his career. Look what happened. Good for them if they are happy but I never think much of unions that start with hurting other people. And he should remember that little adopted girl.
these two are like an older heidi and spencer. stop sharing and go away. as for tori’s beauty, she is the only woman with a noggin as large as dean’s, so he has no choice but to find her beautiful. they are both aliens.
he got 3 tattos for his 3 kids. the other child the ex has full custody of. since the baby was only weeks old and not his biological child they both decided she would raise that child. look things up if u going ot judge have your facts straight. he see’s his son often. there is many photos of dean, tori and his son out and about. he is a very carrying dad toward his son. ya they hurt ppl but they love each other and thats all that counts. i wouldnt stay with someone i wasnt in love with. things happen. his ex needs to move on and get over it. i think tori and dean make a great couple. you dont see tori’s ex whining about it. he didnt write a book. they divorced and he moved on. why keep dragging it out. its been years. deans ex needs to get some help for her issues and move on
Regarding the last poster: Tori and her husband had only been married for a few years and did not have children together. Dean and his wife had been together for many years and had two children-it’s a completely different story. He’s gross-a total gold digger.
The ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, has her book on the whole thing coming out later this year. I, for one, have pre-ordered this book because it’s sure to be juicy.
Tori and Dean won’t stop talking about their love, 9:07, why should the ex-wife? The ex-wife is just providing another angle to the sickening story. A much more interesting angle as Tori and Dean are both really gross.

to blahblah. i have never cheated in a relationship. but thanks for thinkin u know me. i stand by what i wrote. no one can change how i think. im not defending them out of guilt. i like tori spelling and have for over 10 years. iv been cheated on by an ex but like i said obviously the relationship was over when he did but i didnt run around whining about it. i got over it. it wasnt meant to b. they r happy with each other and the ex needs to move on and get over it.
lovestoriandean, I’m sure she will move on and get over it. BUT, she’s a single mom in the Canadian entertainment industry (which is not a thriving one, especially inthis economy) and by writing this book, she is cashing in on her sorrow. Some will consider that tacky, but I don’t begrudge her that one bit. She’s got to make her money somehow.
I agree for her own sake, the ex-wife needs to move on. But it’s understandable if she wants to write a book getting her side of the story out there. Now that she’s done just this, yes, she should move on with her life. However, they have a son together, so she’ll always have to deal with him, and since he’s a famewhore, she’ll always have to see his vain and stupid face smirking out of some magazine.
i think the koi idea is sweet – my friend has 3 stars tattooed on his forearm – one for his wife and one for each of their kids. he says it reminds him to “thank his lucky stars” for his family. but the tattoo of tori’s horsey man-face is not attractive at all. but at least the tattoo artist actually made her boobs look normal!

I will admit I’ve never been a big fan of these two. My feelings towards them softened when her mother dis-inherited her and they had to make their own living. I’d say I was ambivalent towards them, then yesterday there was a marathon on Oxygen of their reality show: Tori & Dean Inn Love.
During the show they were nesting, preparing for the birth of their first child. They seemed sincerely in love and were very affectionate and kind with each other. They exhibited all the signs of “love” calling each other pet names, expressing their strong emotional and physical attraction, etc. (I think if I wasn’t pregnant myself all this mushy stuff would have been too much for me, haha) Anyway, I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of theirs, but I think they are very happy with each other. They make a good match and are fairly entertaining reality-tv. I think they are in love. Clearly the circumstances surrounding the beginning of their affair are upsetting for his first wife. Still “I’m not leaving the kids, I’m leaving you” is a pretty harsh statement. To me this indicates they probably had some problems before Tori came into the picture.
lovestoriandd: So, because the child was adopted and didn’t arrive before Dean screwed around, it’s ok for him to abandon his role as the father? Would it be different if his wife had been pregnant instead of adopting? Bottom line: these two cheated on spouses, and Dean left an infant at home when he split. I can’t find anything to praise in that situation.
Dean is a gold digger and he left his newly adopted daughter without a father. I bet he thought that with Aaron Spelling as his father-in-law he would be as big as Brad Pitt by now. Instead he’s carrying his wife’s bags and covering himself with tattoos of her image, probably to make sure he doesn’t get kicked out and get sent back to Canada and obscurity. Does this “man” even want a job?
Narcissim at its finest. It would creep me out if my husband turned his body into a shrine of me with my face tattooed all over. But then again my spouse and I won’t get tattoos dedicated to each other.
Completely off topic – but for the most part, I am against cosmetic surgery.
And then I see Tori Spelling’s face.
She should go and personally thank that tattoo artist for making her actually look decent on Dean’s tattoos.
@ Katherine Jaynes – I’m no fan of them either. I find myself suppressing the urge to vomit when their promos air on my TV screen.
I’ve never watched their show so I can’t comment on how real their love looks. All I know is that they are professional actors who have proven their ability to express emotions from the written page. Tori may be in love but I think Dean is digging a huge hole for where to place that Spelling gold (when Tori eventually reconciles with Mama).
I actually met Dean back in 2000. I was a working a promotional event at Holt Renfrew (a high end dept store in Toronto) and it was an event to benefit prostate cancer. At the time, Dean was starring in a Canadian television show (can’t remember the name). Back then, he was pretty hot and had none of the oily slime he oozes with now. Other than being distantly polite when he greeting myself and my colleagues, he was a normal guy back then. I felt awful for Mary Jo. She is over him and is back on TV with her cooking show. I will buy her book too just to show my support.

Dean & ex-wife Mary Jo had son Jack and were going through the process of adopting Lola when their marriage fell apart. Like Sandra Bullock, Mary Jo continued the adoption alone. She chose to complete the adoption as a single parent…I’m not saying anyone’s behaviour was right in this situation but this did happen and it’s time to move on…

LOL. some very funny comments. I agree with the person who said they look in love on TV and get along very well. She also acts funny and sweet, on the show.
However, we all know that Tori Spelling is no looker but, has a very wealthy background. I can 80% bet, that she definitely played the sweet, listening, supportive, person, who gave it up without complaining. Stuff that maybe his wife at that time, wasn’t doing.
Combine that, with the man knowing she is a Spelling. I may just think she was my “soulmate,” too. Folks, she is doing no better than this man. Let us face it. And, he is doing no better- money wise and getting someone to worship him, wise. The 2 idiots deserve each other.

Dean clearly saw megabucks knowing that Tori was the daughter of Aaron Spelling who had more money than all of Hollywood put together. How sad. I like Tori but think she was very wrong to believe Dean loves her for herself.
