Here are some photos from some of the post-Golden Globes parties on Sunday night. It’s our annual tradition to get to the party girls a little bit late, but we didn’t forget about them! Here’s Diane Kruger at the InStyle party, flying solo. She wore Nina Ricci, which seems out of character for her. She usually goes… um, more high end? Not that Nina Ricci is cheap, mind you. But this is unexpected on Diane. I also wonder if this a “whole new Diane” since she’s officially (or something) with Norman Reedus these days.
Miranda Kerr wore this August Getty to the InStyle party. I get that the style is “weird drapes,” but does anyone else get a pregnancy vibe from Miranda? Her billionaire already proposed, so I maybe she’s trying to get him to set a date.
Here’s Naomie Harris, who switched Armani gowns to party. I don’t get how this ball gown would be more comfortable that her other Armani, but whatever.
Laverne Cox in Mikael D. She looks amazing. I like that she’s gone darker with her hair, it looks so much better than the honey-blonde shade she was working a year ago.
Naomi Campbell also switches gowns to party. That whole thing fascinates me, especially for people who aren’t nominated for anything. They’re just coming out to present, the they change frocks to party. Weird. Anyway, this is a pretty color on her.

Naomi’s beautiful face is starting to look weird, changed. Ditto for Julianne Hough.
Julianne Hough is unrecognizable these days. And not in a good way. Fresh and cute worked. I don’t know what she’s done to herself, but it’s not good.
I don’t understand the comment it’s weird for presenters to change. A lot of people, specifically women, change because it still gives them and the designers more publicity. It’s obviously a lot more low key but they will be photographed when going to the afterparties.
If people were letting me wear nice dresses, I would change for each party.
But don´t ask them about it! Right…?
Usually the idea is that the awards show/red carpet dress is too big/difficult to get around to parties, so another dress is needed for the rest of the evening. Because no one gets much publicity for being the 2nd gown of the night. But it’s odd to change from a column gown to a ball gown for parties, and generally the unspoken rule is that it’s really just nominees who are wearing a crazy amount of dress that they need to change.
Naomi was outplayed in purple by Lea Michelle and Diane Kruger. She was also outplayed in hair by Laverne Cox, who’s looking like Naomi wanted to look.

Props to Mikael D for making the inserts the color of Laverne’s skin. It looks beautiful! I feel like so often darker women are given transparent mesh that doesn’t match, and my guess is they’re just told to deal with it because they often do.
When it comes to long sleeved, purple and crew neck gowns, Diane’s is better than Lea’s imo. Diane looks pretty cool whereas Lea, as usual, looks like she’s trying way too hard.
And Laverne’s is the way to do sexy cleavage without baring your entire sternum. Perfect!
Laverne looks great, the new hair colour/style makes her look younger, somewhat.
Naomi’s dress is terrible. And I love Diane’s Nina Ricci, simple and high collared without being dowdy.
La Krugs style has changed since the breakup in the summer, fashionable to tacky in six months. Maybe she’s just sad so her clothes reflect it?
Personally I hate Diane’s dress, it looks cheap and tacky to me.
Diane looks…unusual. Not bad at all, though. She took a risk and went all the way with it.

Laverne looks amazing and Naomi is always the queen, she has that something. Diane in disco seems fine to me.
I think Diane and Joshua were so much more than the sum of their parts. On her own she’s not all that special? Or it might just be a post breakup slump. It’s a little depressing, whatever it is.
