Sarah Jessica Parker is still dressing like Carrie Bradshaw as many of you have pointed out to me. I don’t think this is working for her, nor is her very dated makeup. From far away you might assume this bronze J Mendel dress would be ok without the glove things, but look at the bust and the weird diagonal ruffle skirt. At least she didn’t look as squinty last night as she did at the Golden Globes I guess. Like most of the people who showed up last night, Parker won an award. She got Favorite Premium Series Actress for The Divorce which – is anyone watching that? I have barely heard anything about that show. Her speech was really bad, like Tom Hiddleston level bad, in that she used a bunch of $10 words to say “thanks to my fans for sticking with me through the years.” I’m embedding that below. She speaks like Renee Zellweger writes. Something nice – she looks really happy and relaxed.
Victoria Justice was in Yousef Al Jasmi and I’m including her because she manages to make the lousiest, tackiest dresses look ok. I don’t know how she does it, but SJP needs some of that to rub off on her. Maybe it’s Justice’s styling. The beadwork on this is impressive, especially considering that someone probably created this by hand and had plenty of time to reflect on how gaudy the gold and silver ball sequins would look together.
Ali Larter was in Zac Posen and I know some people find his designs boring but I really appreciate his classic gowns. He knows how to edit well and I find this little red batik-print gown so lovely, with thoughtful details like a tiered bell skirt that isn’t too big and a split bust that fits perfectly.
Ruby Rose presented favorite song along with her costar Larter. That went to Justin Timberlake in what should be the only award he’ll get for that Trolls earworm. Host Joel McHale introduced Rose and Larter with the quip “Please welcome from Resident Evil, The Final Chapter – yeah right,” which just made me laugh out loud. Rose was killing it in a bright orange Veronica Beard pantsuit and goth styling. This was so striking.

Right. Blake Lively wins as favorite actress! Lol. The same people who voted for the new president must have voted for the winners here. I am happy that Bates Motel, Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore got some love though. Great show that nobody watches.
I love Bates Motel! So crazy. And I love Vera’s style and demeanor so much. Freddie also knocks it out of the park. I haven’t gotten to the final season yet, though.
Esmon, last season was epic. The final season will start in February…..but as of this moment, not sure if I can watch as Norman is going to be more like Anthony Perkins. I liked pre-psycho Norman and man Freddie was perfect. The chemistry between Vera and him was off the hook. Okay, I’m psycho’ed out!
Yes, Nancy, I hear you on how unsettling it is to know what will become of poor Norman, I’ve been feeling that all along actually. One day I will get to the second-to-last season. Trying to find time to watch it with my teen has been tricky. And we both realize it’s probably creepy AF for a mom and her son to watch that show together! But the performances are so good and the craziness is addictive!
Oh Mother! Lol. I think it’s cool you watch it together! Time to get caught up…..final season approaching quickly. Rihanna is going to play Marion Crane. Going to be cool, sad to see it end.
I’m a fan of SJP, but I think SJP has had work on her eyes or her face pulled a bit and now Her eye shape is totally different than it was on Sex and the City, which I watch in reruns on tv every night. Still addicted to SATC.

gogoboot, me too. I do think she’s prettier in motion than in stills because still photos don’t always capture how engaging and charismatic she is. I think back in the day people found her to be beautiful more so than today because today’s standard of beauty has seemed to become so artificial and cookie cutter and doesn’t leave room for anything out of a very narrow norm. Sigh.
I always respect the fact that she never did a kiss ‘n’ tell about their relationship.

I read somewhere that SJP and JFK Jr. only dated casually and it was of short duration. Whatever I read implied that more has been made of the relationship than what it really was.
That dress looks crazy good on Victoria, and it’s even fun to zoom in on which you can’t say for every beaded dress.

I have absolutely no sense of fashion, but I am pretty good at googling things … the internetz say her jewellery is by Jacquie Aiche. (Who I’ve never heard of, but the only jeweller I know by name is Tiffany.)

SJP dress is hideous, makeup awful, hair very dated BUT overall face/neck she look so much healthier than she used to. She has maybe gained some weight? Doesn’t have that strained too skinny look any more.
How do people find out who made these outfits? I’m s there a list somewhere or does every celebrity tell who dressed them? I could care less what the names are but it is impressive that people can rattle them off

Ruby looks truly striking. That being said, I don’t get why she’s a thing.
I remember her modeling and on OITNB she was gorgeous, but I also don’t get the hype with her either.
Don’t like SJP’s dress, makeup and ombré hair.
It doesn’t bother me what SJP wears because it is going to be off the wall and I have accepted that about her. She does need to tone down the make-up though. I always pictured her as being someone that looks beautiful without all of the eye make-up. What made me cringe was her acceptance speech. WTH was she trying to say? I felt uncomfortable FOR her…jeesh.
Love her but ,She makes me nervous when she speaks. LOL I saw her on a show and she tried to answer a simple question and it was painful.
The speech! Eeek. Second-hand cringe. It was a weird mix of thinly veiled conceit and resignment. To me, (at least), she projects like an egoist who desperately wants to be seen as humble (which is par for the course among celebrities). But at the same time, I detect a little bit of…well…sadness. Like she’s thinking, “Here I am at the mother of fixed award’s show; is this going to be my lifetime achievement award!? A rigged People’s Choice nod!?”

And, that’s not to say that I don’t like SJP. She’s fine. Just commenting on this speech.
Considering how hard and long JT has been pushing that dumb Trolls movie, it totally surprised me to learn that it was already released. I can’t say that I heard one single thing about it, or ever saw any promo for it other than the happy-rip off.
Why does SJP continue to pile on the eye makeup? Her eyes look like two little black holes! Lighten it up and she’d look so much better!

I like the bronze colour of SJP’s gown and that’s it. I actually kind of like the bead work on Victoria’s outfit as well. Ali Larter looks great. Love her styling and that orange pants suit Ruby is wearing is awesome. I like her hair too but I’m not sure I like the matte dark lip.

I didn’t like SJP dress until I scrolled down to see the hem. I like it, not love it, it fits her well which helps make it look good.

Ok. It’s official SJP’s status as a style icon is the effect of Sex and the city not her own fashion sense. That eye make up is horrible and she is consistent with that look, her nails screen I’m an emo teenage girl, the hair looks messy and she consistently wears redicilous outfits that do not suite herm she is incapable to pull this look of no matter how many atempts at it she makes. She looks horrible. That’s it.

I actually like SJP’s new show (Divorce). It’s not groundbreaking or anything but it’s entertaining.
I watch it too and I enjoy it. I’m glad it was renewed for a second season. Not every show can be TWD ratings-wise!
