Jesus Luz has given an interview in his native Brazil, and The Daily Mail has the best parts of the translation. It seems Jesus claims Madonna is “a friend… only a friend” and that she’s “beautiful, a person full of positive energy, with no visible faults.” Oh, for the love of God, Madge. I realize Madonna wants to convince all of us that she’s still got it, that she’s sexy and hip and cool, but this just smacks of paid promotion. “No visible faults”? Does Jesus not look at the gristly man-arms?

Jesus also denies that he and Madge have gotten hitched (in a Kabbalah ceremony or otherwise) which I do believe. I don’t think Madonna is ever going to let a man near her finances again. She’ll pay Jesus to do her bidding, but they’ll never get joint-checking, you know? Jesus also denies that Madge converted him to Kabbalah, saying that he basically respects all religions. There have even been a few reports that Jesus was into Kabbalah before he even met Madge:

Jesus Luz has spoken for the first time about his on/off lover Madonna, saying she is ‘beautiful’ and has ‘no visible faults’.

In an interview with Brazilian television, the model heaped praise on the singer, but insisted they are just friends.

He said: ‘Madonna is beautiful, a person full of positive energy, with no visible faults. I found her marvellous. Her personality also impressed me. She is a person I admire a lot, a friend in my life, who I remain in contact with. But apart from that I cannot say more.’

He denied claims that the pair are set to tie the knot, insisting: ‘She’s my friend, only a friend.’

‘There are no wedding plans, no wedding presents, she’s just a friend, who I speak to frequently as I do with my friends in Rio de Janeiro,’ he added, in his native Portuguese.

Madonna, 50, met Jesus, 22, on the set of a W magazine shoot in Brazil last December. Despite rumours of a split earlier this year, the couple seem to be going strong and have increasingly been seen out and about in New York of late.

In February he joined the singer and her three children David, three, Rocco, eight and Lourdes, 12, at a Kabbalah service in the city. And last week their wore similar cream outfits as they arrived for another Kabbalah ceremony in New York.

The model’s father Luiz Heitor Pinto da Luz has hinted in an interview that they are preparing to exchange religious vows. He said: ‘My understanding is that this is just a consequence of what is happening. He is already living with her.’

‘I don’t know if there will be an actual wedding. From what I have read there could be a sort of ritual, but I don’t know Kabbalah… to know if it’s valid and legal.’

And the rumours strengthened when Jesus was seen in a jewellery store in Rio.

But the singer’s spokeswoman said the wedding rumours were ‘completely and totally not true.’

In the TV interview Jesus also denied having been converted by Madonna, and said: ‘I used to go to Catholic church in Rio, and Evangelical churches, but I don’t have any special feelings for any specific religion, I respect all of them.’

Long live the boy toy. I think Jesus and Madonna will last just as long as she can stand him. At some point, that boy is going to start grating on her (old-lady) nerves, and she’ll kick him out. But for now, Jesus is in training. I like how this is from a Brazilian interview – it would have been too obvious if Jesus had gone on Good Morning America. In English, we would have been able to more clearly see the talking points Madonna issued him.
