Billy Ray Cyrus needs a hobby that isn’t trying to tease us about his daughter Miley’s wedding. Daddy Cyrus posted the above photo to Instagram on Friday. It’s a pic of Miley smiling in a white lace dress that could be a wedding dress and if you look at the reflection, that’s Miley taking a picture of her own photo. It’s all very meta and wistful and cryptic. To add to the “huh?” quality, Billy Ray added the caption about being happy that Miley is so happy, which is something one generally associates with wedding days. This all came just a few days after Miley and Liam Hemsworth were caught by paps walking hand in hand on the beach (shirtless Liam and super cute bikini top alert). So this caught fire and the whole internet – including me – was speculating about whether or not this was the long awaited announcement of the Miley/Liam nuptials. And Billy Ray got me – I thought they had and was happy not only that they had gotten married but they had done so in their own way.
But just like when he ignited rumors about a wedding date being set, Billy Ray was talking out of his wiglet again. The following day, after social media had worked itself not a frenzy, he posted the exact same pic but with the caption, “Whoa! Don’t jump the gun. Been at work #StillTheKing Glad to see so many love @MileyCyrus the same as I do #happy.”
So I got mad at Billy Ray. Not because he had done anything wrong but because I got excited that Miley and Liam were married and then they weren’t, a fact that Miley’s manager confirmed. I used to think they were all messing with us but honestly, I think they don’t care. It’s not that they don’t know any switch up will spark rumors, just that that’s on us, not them. I, do, however, suspect they enjoy the confusion they create and honestly, so would I.
In other Cyrus news, both Billy Ray and Miley are posting a lot of throwback pics of late. It’s cute to see baby Cyrusi but I wonder why the parade down Memory Lane? Whatever is going on, it’s always worth it to check out Miley’s IG for the eye candy:

Seriously though for some reason it drives me round the twist that the common narrative is that he is too good for her and she has to change to be worthy of him. It is a scenario that is playing out with my 19 yr old niece right now.
i think this is why i don’t feel good when i read or see them. something just seems off, and that would sum it up neatly that there is an expectation for her to improve herself for him.
i hope not, but i just get a feeling she has muted herself heavily to be with him. and that is sad, imo.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I am not worried about Eva with Ryan because honestly, she has never really been out here doing a Miley. Its not that big a personality change. Miley on the other hand is as EXTRA as they come and always has been. It just feels like she had a personality transplant. Also, she barely promoted her last album, does she at least tour?
I just don’t get a good vibe when I see them together. I think Miley can do better and I feel sorry for her having to go through those drastic personality changes.
To me it seems like the way she’s acting now is almost exactly the same as the way she was acting back in late 2011 and 2012, when she wasn’t really promoting anything career-wise and was dating Liam but done with Disney. The only difference is blonde hair and weirder clothes. It doesn’t look like she’s become a different person, she’s just gone back to one of her more chill phases that she seems to go through when she’s not really promoting anything.
I love the two of them together, I hope they make it
I hate everyone, but these two are so damn cute. I think they called it off a while ago because both were blowing up and it wasn’t fair to try to force a relationship when both had so much going on. Now they’re rolls’ have slowed and I’m glad they reconnected ♥️
Honestly, my first thought was that she was shooting a music video.
I see a lot of Britney Spears in Miley. Both were Disney stars and the pressure that was put on them as a child and young adult is inssermountable. Miley is fighting to find herself and her self. Worth, with all the drastic changes that have occurred I feel it is just to much pressure to quick and the pressure to live up to this new image will bring her down even more.
