Chris Pratt shows us his calorie-portioned snacks on the set of Jurassic World 2

'Passengers' Premiere - Arrivals

Actors spend long days on set, and I’m sure boredom can set in pretty easily at times. Chris Pratt, working on the set of the sequel to Jurassic World, has managed to alleviate boredom and share some healthy eating tips with his followers.

The 37-year-old actor, who famously went from having a “Dad bod” during his days on Parks and Recreation to getting ripped for Guardians of the Galaxy, has taken to Instagram to share his snacks with his followers in a series he’s dubbed “What’s My Snack?” Chris posted the first installment last Thursday, detailing his baobab, banana, cacao and chia smoothie.

In subsequent episodes, Chris’ snacks include sashimi (yum), olive oil pistachio cake (also yum) and an apple (bleah…but, as he confessed, he ate his cake a day before his designated “cheat day.”)

And, if you only thought actresses were body shamed on social media, think again. Chris has his share of haters as well, who have recently accused him of looking “skeletal,” using the comments section on his snack posts to tell him so. Chris responded with his trademark sense of humor, posting a pic of a T-Rex skull from the set with a caption that reads, in part, “Body shaming hurts. So to prove my security in the way I look I’m posting a current selfie of me at what I consider a very healthy weight. 500lbs. Zero percent body fat.”

Chris has delighted in joking around with fans of his other blockbuster franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy, posting a clip with Kurt Russell from the set captioning it “Kurt Russell poses with a fan on the set of #guardiansofthegalaxy vol 2.”

GoG2 director James Gunn is also joining in the fun. Over the weekend, he shared a post Chris made on Facebook, claiming that the upcoming flick already had a 234% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and will win not only “every movie award” but 39 Olympic gold medals.

I love Chris Pratt. I loved him with his “Dad bod” and I love him just as much now. I’m glad he’s handling his body shamers with humor. Let’s hope, though, that Chris took a few days off of his diet, as he spent an evening this past weekend in Paris, home of some of the most wonderful, non-diet food in the world, with his lovely wife, Anna Faris. Hope you had an extra croissant, Chris, you definitely deserved it.

How come he deserves it? For being paid millions to make movies, have meals prepared specially for him, and neglecting his pets?

    • Stella says:

This guy is a tool of the highest order, and his wife is just as bad. Disgusting animal abusers. Disgusting.

This is worse than a paid shill. It’s middle school fangirling .

      • Bridget says:

They were kind of callous about how they re-home their pets, but that is far from animal abuse.

    • lisa says:

he’s a tool and she cant be much better if she is ok with it

    • Butterscotch says:

Why on earth would you like this disgusting douche?
After the disgusting way he and his wife treated their pets?
The way he brags about hunting for fun?
      I can’t stand him

  2. ZGB says:

Am not very into sheer dresses but I love the one his wife is wearing in that pic.

This article is so positive *checks writer*….Hmmmmn, no wonder!!!

    • Tobbs says:

I love Corey’s articles. They’re always a breath of positive air around here.

    • deadnotsleeping says:

Too funny! I had to go back to check the author too!

I enjoy Chris Pratt as an actor and wish him well. My ten year old CANNOT WAIT until GOTG2 comes out. We’re going on a mama/son date and have already picked out what restaurant to try out.

  3. Psu Doh Nihm says:

Exactly what I was thinking. Weren’t they just ripped a new hole on this site for animal neglect? For a moment I doubted my memory after reading this love fest…

    • jinni says:

Different writer and even though I am not a fan of Pratt and have reservation about him l appreciate the different perspective on him.

As for the article, it’s good he said something about the body shaming from male angle. So many think guys aren’t effected but they are. Honestly if I was a celeb I would not read any I the comments or just disable them because no matter what you do someone will complain about you and your life. I know social media is supposed to be in order to connect with fans but I would only acknowledge them if I was doing an ask me anything for a movie, but otherwise just post with no response to the comments.

  4. astrid says:

I can’t get over the dog situation a while back to enjoy him as much as I used to

    • misery chick says:

@ Astrid-me either! Parks and Rec Chris Pratt is my favorite CP, so the show isn’t as fun now.

  5. Cee says:

    Jurassic World 2? WHY?

    • Sam says:

Because the first one made $1.6 billion dollars. That’s why.

    • Rae says:

Because it was good fun… and it made a heap load of cash.

The latter would have guaranteed it a sequel anyway, the former just makes it worth it a little more!

  6. Forestlass says:

He stills looks chubby to me!

  7. Jenns says:

I’m not sure what to make of Chris Pratt. Sometimes he comes across like an OK guy, and other times he seems kind of douchey.

Also, I saw Passengers this weekend and it might be the worst movie I have seen in years. His character is so unlikable that I almost quit watching. Now I kind of wish I did.

    • Cali says:

Passengers IS the worst movie I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame that it’s visually stunning, I hated both characters equally at the end and it was so unrealistic that she’d give up that opportunity in the end. Barf

  8. lala says:

I can’t with him ever since the multiple stories about how he treats his pets have come out.

    nope. nope. nope.

Maybe worry less about calories and worry more about being a better person?

    • Bridget says:

Jeez. The guy was less than sensitive when it came to re-homing his pets, but he didn’t lock the dog in a closet and forget about it a la Paris Hilton.

  9. Nn says:

You would think by now they’d fix those HD cameras so they won’t add 10 pounds! It’s ridiculous that actors have to damn near starve themselves to look normal size on camera.

  10. bread says:

Isn’t this guy basically a white bread and mayo sandwich? If you need a blandly attractive male protagonist for your comic book/sci fi movie then he’s your man. Or maybe I’m confusing him with one of the other Chris’s…

    • Moonstone says:

      😂😂

    • derpshooter says:

He does have a good nose though. I think it’s his own, not from surgery. And I hate most noses, including my own.

    • Mocha says:

He’s also a terrible actor. Really, really bad. See the Jurassic Park reboot for example. I used to find him charming on screen but the hunting and awful attitude towards their pets just put me off both of them.

  11. Esmom says:

Not a fan but I didn’t love Parks and Rec. I’d never seen the final season and I was finally ready to fire it up yesterday. I was so dismayed to see that it’s no longer on Netflix. Boo.

    • amilu says:

I loved Parks and Rec more than just about everything, but I hated the final season. In my opinion, you’re not missing much.

      • Esmom says:

Ah, good to know, thanks. I think I’ll hold off on TV til next month, The Leftovers and Better Call Saul are both back then if I’m not mistaken.

  12. Moonstone says:

The comments were really nasty, people are never happy with the way you look, when I was battling an ED, I had many people come to me to tell me how fragile and awful I looked and encouraging me to go grab a burger, then when I got back on my feet and was on my way to recovery I still had to deal with people’s comments about how I was putting on extra pounds and not let myself go. It’s a losing battle!! Hope he doesn’t go too far.

  13. Anitas says:

Loved him in Parks & Rec, I enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy, but he’s been pretty cringey in all the other roles I’ve seen him. I also loved that he was honest about his struggle with weight and how much effort it actually takes to get in shape – it’s always refreshing for a celebrity to be so honest about the work they have to put in. But the more I learn about him – like animal abuse – the less I like him, to the point that he now gets an “ugh” reaction from me.

  14. Jerkface says:

Why should we care what his diet is? How much do you poop? How often do you brush your teeth? Such details are too many details. No one cares

  15. Tessa says:

    DOGS
    Need I say more?
Bore off and eat your apple. You are a Prat, Pratt.

  16. detritus says:

    Chad snacks.

this could be any chad and the story would be no different.

c’mon Hollywood, give me someone different.

That being said, i’m watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in theatre.

  17. Amandahugandkiss says:

I couldn’t even make it through the first one. Exhausting.

It is not funny when you either:
    a) pretend to be dumb and loud in real life, or
    b) are dumb and loud in real life.

    I just can’t anymore.

  18. Annetommy says:

Oh Corey, liking Chris Pratt on this site is the equivalent of worshipping Satan. I’m sure plenty of posters will tell you why. Not sure they will talk about Pratt’s $1,000,000 donation to a children’s hospital (ie a hospital not intended for “furry babies”), but hey, priorities….

    • Mocha says:

Tax benefits. The animal abuse issue wasn’t about them “choosing” to abuse animals because they had to save some human so I don’t think judging them for the abuse is about priorities per se.

They were neglectful probably just because they were lazy. And he’s a proud recreational hunter. Honestly, you can look past that if it had been a one-off, but the fact Anna went around saying she’d been frantically looking for the chihuahua when the shelter made a point of saying she didn’t even bother calling them back when they tried contacting her multiple times just shows their true colours. Then she said her son’s allergic and they were focused on being good parents so had to give away the dog. Okay, whatever you say.

  19. Gg says:

    Died laughing!!!!

  20. artistsnow says:

Wow. I guess I am the exception here.
I’ve been watching the PrattPrattPratt snack eating shorts on his instagram account.
I thought they were hysterically funny. Particularly the one where he snorts up the olive oil cake.
He is so hot. I love a guy who makes fun of himself.

  21. Christina says:

Pet abuser! I will never pay another buck to see any of his films.

    • Annetommy says:

I think perhaps a list should be drawn up so that no-one inadvertently sees a film, reads a book, watches a play, or listens to music where those involved are not morally upright in all respects.
