Everyone in the White House is ‘jealous’ of Jared Kushner’s influence

Ivanka Trump And Jared Kushner Take Their Kids Out For Ice Cream In Aspen

One of the long-reads on Politico this weekend was a fascinating piece on Jared Kushner and his influence over his father-in-law, the Notorious B.I.G.L.Y. While some claimed that Emperor Bigly was upset at Kushner’s absence during the healthcare debacle, other sources later claimed that Jared and Bigly were just fine, thank you very much, and Jared is still one of Bigly’s most influential advisers. I think that’s true, by the way: if Bigly was really mad about Kushner’s ski trip with Precious Ivanka, Bigly would not have put Kushner in charge of reorganizing the entire federal government. I also think Kushner has become a True Believer, a guy who will “exfoliate” liberals from his life in service of maintaining his sphere of influence over Bigly. So just what does that sphere of influence entail? And are White House staffers concerned? Some highlights from Politico:

Kushner isn’t very popular in the White House: Kushner’s status as the big-issue guru has stoked resentment among his colleagues, who question whether Kushner is capable of following through on his various commitments. And some colleagues complain that his dabbling in myriad issues and his tendency to walk in and out of meetings have complicated efforts to instill more order and organization into the chaotic administration. These people also say Kushner can be a shrewd self promoter, knowing how to take credit — and shirk blame — whenever it suits him. “He’s saving the government and the Middle East at the same time,” one senior administration official quipped.

The Hatchet Man: Kushner “serves as Trump’s unofficial hatchet man” and many believe he will have his fingerprints all over the coming staff shake-ups. Kushner apparently wants “fewer zealots and less ideology in the West Wing — and is frustrated with the constant leaking and infighting that have characterized the administration’s early days.” Kushner was one of the main proponents of kicking out Corey Lewandowski, Paul Manafort and Chris Christie.

So Jelly. “Everyone is jealous,” said one person close to the White House. Kushner is “the ultimate decider. Mostly people are jealous.”

This paragraph is ridiculous: Kushner spends his days bopping from meetings on Capitol Hill to pacing the Oval Office with Trump to calling Trump’s friends and potential media allies, like morning show host Joe Scarborough. He involves himself in high-level discussions on all manner of policy priorities, ranging from health care and tax reform to trade policy. In foreign policy, he’s been publicly tasked with solving Middle East peace, while also handling Canada, China and Mexico issues.

Boy drama: “Kushner has told people that he believes at least some of the resentment of him is being whipped up by people who worked on the campaign but didn’t get the jobs in the White House, such as Corey Lewandowski, as well as conservatives concerned that he’s too liberal. Lewandowski did not respond to a request for comment, but Kushner’s allies contend that Lewandowski and other critics have tried to plant negative stories about Kushner in the media.”

The Jewish lobby is worried. The right-wing Jewish groups thought Kushner would be an ally in the White House but now those same people are feeling a “deep concern that Jared is not the person we thought he was — that this guy who is supposed to be good at everything is totally out of his depth.” Apparently, Kushner has pretty much refused to install a bunch of neoconservative pro-Israel warmongers in the State Dept.

Kushner hated the Trumpcare/Ryancare bill. “Kushner privately expressed displeasure with the GOP replacement bill to the president repeatedly and in no uncertain terms, three people familiar with the discussions told POLITICO. He voiced his displeasure so often that Trump at one point grew exasperated, telling his son-in-law that he fully understood his position, according to the two senior administration officials.

[From Politico]

There are also sources repeatedly saying that the concern is that Kushner lacks focus and depth because he’s taken on so many “big issues” all at once. The fact that he’s alienated the neoconservatives isn’t bothersome (to me), and the fact that he is Bigly’s hatchet man isn’t bothersome either. You know what I was thinking about as I read this? Watergate, and the last days of the Bigly Administration. Some executives believe that you should never hire anyone that you can’t pin the blame on and fire. Kushner is now “unfireable” and he was there, meeting with Russian officials too. When sh-t hits the fan for Kushner and Bigly, would Bigly ever fire Kushner? Probably not. But Kushner would ask for immunity and turn on his father-in-law.

Also: after Politico published this over the weekend, Kushner jetted off to Iraq to meet with military officials, diplomats and more. I guess Kushner’s in charge of Iraq now too. Which brings me to something I was wondering about this weekend: remember Bigly’s big secret plan to defeat ISIS? Where’s the plan? Is the plan to just send Jared Kushner everywhere?

Soooooooo Jared is now the U.S. Secretary of State? This is beyond satirical.

    • Lightpurple says:

While we pay a guy to be Secretary of State and not do the job.

    • Christin says:

This is apparently like dress up, only with key administration roles.

      • Esmom says:

Omg, this is exactly what it’s like. I would laugh if I didn’t feel like breaking down in sobs.

      • Nicole says:

Essentially. It’s like playing government in school except they might kill us in the process

      • Christin says:

I started to expand on this with job examples, but humor turned to fear.

If just one-tenth of this had been in a movie script just two years ago, no one would have believed it.

    • Megan says:

The notion of Kushner negotiating a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians is truly laughable. Why would either entity negotiate with an envoy who has no experience and represents one of the most corrupt regimes operating in the world today. There is literally nothing in it for either side.

      • L says:

Trump, “hey, I know a Jewish guy! Very smart! We can get him for that situation in the Middle East, I mean he’s smart and Jewish! Perfect!”

    • Tiffany :) says:

Secretary of State and then some. He’s also in charge of addressing the opioid addiction crisis.

What a well planned administration! It’s operating like a well run business. Overwhelming unqualified staff with an impossible workload and unattainable goals is a sure fire way to get things done, and done right!

      • vauvert says:

I thought he just put Christie in charge of the opioid crisis?

      • Tiffany :) says:

There was an announcement of a commission lead by Christie last week, but there have also been statements about Kushner doing his own thing.

        From Vox:
“On Monday, President Donald Trump announced that he’d tapped his son-in-law to lead the newly formed “White House Office of American Innovation.” Its charges include fulfilling key Trump campaign pledges like “fighting the opioid crisis” and “reforming care for veterans,” according to the Washington Post.”

  3. Shambles says:

Something just does not seem right here. WHY him, of all people? Why give this random person who married your daughter so much influence? Is it a favor to Ivanka, Trump’s prized possession? Is there something more nefarious going on? Just… why? He has experience in the field of inheriting real estate companies from his father. It makes no sense to me. But then again, I’m sure it makes perfect sense to Trump, because his only experience is in that very same field and somehow he ended up running the country. Oh, Jesus, just let this end.

    • INeedANap says:

Bigly Boy and Jared are basically the same person. Rich kids who inherited wealth spend years poorly managing real estate business for their fathers and fail upwards repeatedly. He sees himself in Jared in life, in business, and in their love for Ivanka.

Jared Kushner, for all that his parents spent money on the best schooling available, still had to buy him an entrance to Harvard. He couldn’t sell property on 5th Avenue. He bankrupted a newspaper that had a devout online following. And now he’s wheeling and dealing with foreign governments.

      I’ll be in my bunker.

      • Esmom says:

Seriously. I need to build that bunker, don’t know why I’ve put it off this long.

As someone pointed out yesterday, can you imagine if Obama had installed relatives in positions like this? Why can’t the Dems react with the insane levels of outrage that the GOP surely would have?

      • Betsy says:

I think the Dems have their hands full trying to keep the Republic together.

      • Kitten says:

“He sees himself in Jared in life, in business, and in their love for Ivanka.”

*runs to the bathroom to throw up”

      • EM says:

You hit it on the nose – they are mirror images of each other. And since Jared brought in Bill’s accusers we know for sure that he’s also a sleazebag – see mirror.

      • JustBitchy says:

I need a nap – you are so right and the whole situation so wrong

    • Megan says:

Being married to Trump’s golden girl is definitely part of the equation, but I suspect Jared has throughly sucked up to Trump and, whether or not his sentiment is genuine, I think he is probably kinder and more loving towards Trump than any of Trump’s actual sons. Since Trump desperately craves love and admiration, and has a massive ego, he assumes Jared must be extraordinary for seeing in him what others do not. I’m sure Trump thinks Jared “really gets him.” As a result, Trump over trusts him.

Pile that on top of the fact that Trump is paranoid, lonely, and isolated, his bond with Jared takes on new significance in his present circumstances.

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

I personally think it’s because Jared is the son he wishes he had. I don’t think he thinks much of the older 2 he has and Ivanka is a lot like Bigly. She’s the chip off the old block and she married someone who is like her father.

      • bleu_moon says:

Yeah, I think he’s smarter than the Trump sons, but I hear that’s not difficult to achieve. I’m sure Trump thinks Jared is a genius compared to Gollum and Bat Boy. Last I heard Jared “Natural Talent” Kushner will bring peace to the middle east, strip the government of unnecessary departments, fix the opioid crisis, turn water into wine, part the red sea, etc. etc. etc.

      • swak says:

My thoughts are that he didn’t give his sons any position in the White House so that they could go about his business and make money for him. This way Trump won’t be violating any laws (at least according to Trump). Plus he gets a twofer with Jared (or with Ivanka, however you want to look at it).

      • Esmom says:

bleu_moon, thanks for sharing, it was a great read. I realize now that Jared truly is Trump 2.0, minus the erratic tweeting.

I was in a similar situation when my ad agency was bought by a hated businessman (Dan Snyder) who knew nothing of our business. He came to tour all the divisions he acquired and I had to give a presentation of our work on behalf of our team. I’ve never presented to anyone less engaged, he literally had zero interest in what I was saying or showing. I always wondered if it had to do with the fact that I was a woman, I never compared notes with any of the men who gave presentations. It was like talking to a wall, which is how I imagine Jared and Trump both tend to respond when people try to brief them about anything. It’s demoralizing to be sure.

      • JustBitchy says:

And she had to work hard to make that shidduch.

    • Lightpurple says:

    • Alexandria says:

Because he is family and Trump doesn’t trust outsiders. Crooks and conmen rarely trust people because their mentality is since I can cheat anyone, I shouldn’t trust anyone because they can also cheat me.

    • vauvert says:

Money. Jared’s dad, the convict, and his convict friends are in the running to get the new FBI and pentagon buildings (billions of dollars) and are part of the whole “privatize infrastructure and line your pockets” team.

Plus – the whole reason Kushner was NOT involved in the healthcare debacle is money – his brother’s $2B app is dependent on Obamacare – which is why they may tweak it but not kill it. So Jared did not want to be present that week and therefore not part of that particular mess.

Also – Jared is in debt to the tune of hundreds of millions (if not billions) for 666Park – I know, ominous. Guess who is pouring money into his failing businesses? The Chinese. And he is one of the “secret” agents meeting with the Russians too. So – it all comes down to $. Jared knows where all the bodies are buried and has a lot of his own.

  4. Chelly says:

    He looks like a twink

  5. Nancy says:

This is becoming quite the monarchy. He goes to Iraq as the shadow secretary of state, scary shit. I won’t rattle off all of my concerns, bc I’m quite sure they’re the same as you guys. What I am curious about is what he didn’t like about the “replacement” healthcare bill. Does he have a soul? Does he care that his people wanted to take away Medicaid and Family Planning and basically wipe out the poor people of our Nation. I am so concerned about what’s ahead, it’s palpable.

    • LAK says:

Jared’s younger brother has a billion dollar startup healthcare company, Oscar health, that is predicated on Obamacare. It’s rumoured that Jared was an investor or at the very least an advisor.

With that much money at risk, i don’t think Jared was ever going to support a replacement healthcare plan that bankrupted his brother because every profile of the brothers strongly projects a mafia style family loyalty.

      • Nancy says:

Interesting @LAK. If only Joshua was in the position his brother is. I’ve heard Jared and his wife are distancing themselves from their liberal friends. But this is at least a glimmer of hope that he will have some influence in the future. With that said, that wasn’t what trump was pushing so vehemently, quite the opposite. trump has given him so much responsibility, he’s like president jr., but I didn’t see anywhere on his agenda to “fix the healthcare.” He may have a strong loyalty to his brother, but stronger to his wife, and I haven’t a clue what she believes in, just as long as she’s in the White House with her father getting photo ops.

      • LAK says:

Whenever Jared is accused of disloyalty or support of any particular Trump policy, it’s interesting to know who in Jared’s orbit, who might not necessarily be visibly in Trump’s orbit, influencing that position.

When snippets come out that Jared opposed Trumpcare even if he was overruled, it’s not inconceivable to think that his opposition was about his brother’s company rather than a love of his fellow man.

I’m not sure how i feel about Joshua. He has that mafia loyalty to Jared, and until Jared took over the Trump campaign, the brothers shared the same positions on everything.

Who is to say that Josh won’t have a similar conversion along the way?

      • Nancy says:

Only the shadow knows. It does make sense in this nonsensical world we live in that Jared may have concern for the people, as well as the profit. He and those like him know nothing of hunger, choosing between meds and food . He lived a life of privilege and married someone with a similar upbringing. These same things may have led Joshua to do his thing, helping those without. It’s hard to try to get inside other people’s heads when you simply don’t know. They can’t all be evil, maybe Jared will be as @SuzanneToo and I have already said, the one to bring down the house of cards. Right now though the only thing flashing in my head is how Jared insisted Bill Clinton’s accusers of twenty years ago be at the debate and was very pissed off that he didn’t get his way to have them sitting visibly to the tv audience by the Clintons. F.

      • LAK says:

Nancy: That Clinton move is very Machiavelian. Ditto how he got rid of Christie etal.

Trump is safe as long as Jared continues to admire or benefit from him.

      • Kitten says:

Holy sh*t. I did not know this but makes a lot of sense.
        Thanks for links, LAK.

      • Lightpurple says:

With that much family money at risk, any participation in healthcare reform is a flagrant violation of conflict of interest laws.

      • LAK says:

Nancy/Kitten/lightpurple: As far as Trump policies go, Jared and Bannon are not the problem despite their very problematic views because they are merely the trojan horses for this guy:

        https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/feb/26/robert-mercer-breitbart-war-on-media-steve-bannon-donald-trump-nigel-farage

        http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/27/the-reclusive-hedge-fund-tycoon-behind-the-trump-presidency

You get rid of this guy, you de-fang Bannon.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Didn’t Kushner also help set up the Russian bank server connection going from the Minnesota medical facility ran by the Betsy DeVos/Erik Prince family to Trump Tower and then back to the Russian bank?

      • LAK says:

Tiffany:) i’ve not heard that before, and google brings up unsubstantiated rumour and gossip on that specific topic generated by the same source.

Unclear on veracity of source which is always a bad sign if they can’t be pinned down precisely.

And it all seems chatter rather than proof.

CNN reporting on this story is why people don’t trust them anymore. They don’t seem to have investigative reporting anymore, if they ever, and instead indulge in speculation, rumour and gossip rather than cold hard facts and that is feeding into Trump’s agenda.

Within their own reporting, they have a tiny paragraph that says there is no suggestion of wrong-doing, but the bulk of the article is rumour, speculation and gosdip that implies wrong-doing. Bloggers picked up the story, and when you dig further than that, you land at the unverifiable source that can’t be pinned down.

      • Christin says:

@LAK – I have noticed that at least two of the major cable news networks are routinely relying on print media / other sources for ‘breaking news’ content.

If they are rushing to put content on air that traces to questionable sources, that feeds into the unreliable narrative that already shrouds ‘Faux News’ network.

      • vauvert says:

Thanks LAK, I didn’t post the links but I have been staying the same above. Adam Khan has been talking about this forever. And whenever people try to suggest charitable motives to any of these grifters my response is – name one charitable endeavour they have undertaken consistently, before politics. Just one – where they invested in the community – not for profit, but to be helpful. Name one corporate policy they had in their own big a** companies where they promoted minorities or women, where they hired people who had come up the hard way in the world. Guess what – zip, zilch, nada.
Same when the talk turns to immigration, his big scary schtick and the whole make American. So much BS when we all know nothing they make was but in the US, and he and his family hires illegals, requests work visas for staff a Mar-a_lago and the winery etc. It is all a big fat scam, and we may never know the complete extent of their thuggery.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I didn’t see it on CNN. I was looking at another source that cited some Forbes articles (was on another device when I read that article, can’t find it now). But I also found this article on Slate, which doesn’t mention Jared, but it does discuss the server connections between Spectrum Health, Alfa Bank, and Trump Organization.

        http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/10/was_a_server_registered_to_the_trump_organization_communicating_with_russia.html

Ultimately, the intelligence agencies will have to get the specifics, but I think raising questions is also an important part of the process. I think the media plays a role in “kicking the tires” of questions of foreign interference.

      • LAK says:

Christin:Exactly. It’s very frustrating when they do that because then we can’t point and laugh at Faux news boatload of unreliable news reports.

Tiffany 🙂 let’s see what the FBI investigation throws up.

  6. Seraphina says:

I’m wondering when the citizens of this country and the people we have placed in power will wake up and smell the nepotism that has begun to permeate the highest office in the land. I thought all we had to worry about was his craziness but now he has placed his family in these positions.

The hilarious part is my Trump supporting colleagues wanted an end to political family strong holds, thus not voting for Hillary. And now they shake their head because Trump is building one right before their very eyes. UGH!!!!

    • Esmom says:

That’s good to hear that your Trump supporting colleagues are aware of their folly. But I heard yesterday that polls are showing that Republicans say they would re-elect Trump. Sigh.

    • Tiffany :) says:

“wanted an end to political family strong holds, thus not voting for Hillary.”

Oh the irony. Sometimes, it really sucks to be able to say “I told you so.”

      • Seraphina says:

Tiffany, the irony does suck that we have to pay for the mistakes of this egotistical narcissistic megalomaniac. But it is sweet that when they (Trump voters) complain I get to look them in the eyes and say: you morons!

  7. Ophelia says:

Seeing how Trump treats people who are “loyal” to him but not named Ivanka… I wouldn’t be so quick to envy him. I’m sure Ol Bigly won’t have any qualms of throwing him to the wolves when all’s starting to crash down around him.

We can already see hints of it with how he ranted and raved when his (and Ryan’s) idiotic health care act went belly up. He was searching high and low for Jared. Why wasn’t Jared there to shield him and hold his hands, to make it right for him? Basically passive aggressively blaming Jared.

Sleep with one eye open, Jared you married-in. I doubt Ivanka will be much help when it comes the time to throw you off the ravine.

  8. boredblond says:

It’s amazing a guy whose dad had to give Harvard millions to get him in now is considered to be so brilliantly qualified for just everything. Responsible people aren’t jealous, they’re worried.

  9. Lightpurple says:

Does he know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?
Can he find Iraq on a map?
Has he ever talked with an actual federal worker?

i’m pretty sure iRag is a blue-tooth enabled piece of cloth whose wetness or grunginess you can monitor via smartphone. you can even set it to directly alert your maid to throw it into the laundry!

    • Nancy says:

Do you think many people who aren’t on one or the other do know the difference? As I’ve said many times before, we represent the elderly, who in many cases depend upon Medicaid in nursing homes. I think a vast amount of the population thinks Medicaid is for the lazy bums who don’t want to work and get a handout. It’s flabbergasting to me, the lack of knowledge in our country. Fortunately, even the Republicans wouldn’t pass that bill, but trump hates to lose as we know, and he will find a way to eradicate what President Obama fought to get, health care for those who wouldn’t have it otherwise. It’s frightening this kid is loaded with power without knowledge. I hope his secret agenda is to bring his daddy in law down. One can hope, hope is all we have.

      • SusanneToo says:

” I hope his secret agenda is to bring his daddy in law down. One can hope, hope is all we have.”
See my comment at #12. I think jared has been plotting from the beginning, starting with his marriage to Plastic Barbie.

      • Esmom says:

SusanneToo, Really? A long game like that is not something I thought he had in him but I admit the mention of it gave me a tiny glimmer of hope.

      • SusanneToo says:

@Esmom I think when jared first looked at ivanka he also saw the $$$$$ wafting behind her. He realized she was number one in daddy’s heart and other organs and would one day take over the business. Voila!! $$$ + ❣ = 👰🏼🤵🏼
I doubt he thought the crook would steal the presidency, but now that they’re there why not grab as much power as possible. I don’t doubt he and wifey can manipulate donnie who will believe any nonsense you put in front of him.

      • Lightpurple says:

I know most people don’t know the difference. I think people who do know the difference and know how those programs operate separately and how they wrap around one another, how they are financed, how they reimburse, how those reimbursements are calculated, the scope of services for both. and the eligibility rules should be at every discussion of healthcare reform. And they were during the year the ACA was debated in the Senate. They have been markedly missing from all the Trumpcare discussions. Someone so lacking in that knowledge as Jared Kushner does not belong anywhere near the discussion

      • Tiffany :) says:

I think the general population should be better informed, but it is another matter entirely that the person wielding great power over these programs is not an expert. Your average American isn’t going to be kicking people off of these programs.

  10. Tiffany27 says:

He just looks like a complete serial killer.

  11. Luca76 says:

This is one of those reads where I just get scared. These people are going to have to deal with some super duper delicate and heavy duty crisis eventually. And they are totally beyond their depth. We are so F***ed.

    • Kitten says:

      Completely and utterly f*cked.

    • Venus says:

Yes. What the f*** does he know about any of this stuff??? He is in no way qualified to do any of this, and was certainly not elected to do so.

  12. SusanneToo says:

That last photo, standing behind trump – the look on jared’s face seems to say, “You old fool, I’m just waiting for my moment to make my move.” I believe he thinks he’s using trump, not vice versa.

    • Christin says:

I suspect the same. My guess is that they will act as if they tried their best to control him, and will paint themselves as heroic for what they ‘endured’. (Assuming the whole bunch isn’t charged with laundering money, etc.)

    • Kitten says:

Yeah there’s something about his face and expressions that is so cold/robot-like yet effeminate/child-like at the same time.
It’s a strange dichotomy that I find very unnerving.

  13. B n A fn says:

All I have to say is, Pence better watch his back because I can see DT appointing Jared as VP. He has every other job in this administration without qualification. He’s now SoS. The appointed SoS does not talk to the press, does not hold briefings. The rumor is, the reporters cannot look him in the eyes when talking to him. He travels without press and no one knows WTF he’s doing.

Now Ran Paul is now asking for Susan Rice to be brought up on charges because she might have had something to do with unmasking some names. However, it’s ok for us to look the other way that the Russians had something to do with outcome of our election. Imo, DT would take down the country before admitting that he got help in the election. That would mean he’s not a legitimate president imo, just saying.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

There is no way Susan Rice can be charged for Doing Her Job. It was her job to find out which US persons were communicating with foreign agents, per communications legally surveilled under a legally obtained international warrant. Sheesh.

      Rand Paul wants attention.

      • Christin says:

This is the daily deflection, for sure. Blame someone for looking closer at the security camera footage when robbery is suspected.

State Department staffers aren’t even allowed to look at Tillerson. Why are we paying him?

  14. OhDear says:

    This will not end well.

  15. Eric says:

By giving Kushner the title if Secretary of Everything, Emperor Zero is using Kushner as an insulator. Surely Kushner won’t flip on EZ-D when he’s charged with treason, will he?

    Can’t wait to find out!

    • SusanneToo says:

If it keeps his a$$ out of jail, you betcha he will.

    • Christin says:

Do we think money laundering will be before or after another charge? I believe laundering and emoluments violations could be likely /quicker charges to have sticking power.

One of the talking heads ‘experts’ a few weeks ago claimed treason could be hard to prove, but that may not be as accurate now that more shoes are dropping. They claimed other charges could be easier to prove. Then again, that was probably day 30-something of this 70-year — err, days— nightmare.

      • Lightpurple says:

I think there will be plea bargains down from treason to money-laundering and insider trading.

  16. robyn says:

They might be jealous of Kushner now but perhaps one day relieved they were not as cozy with Trump or in Kushner’s shoes. Every bit as C O M P L I C I T as Ivanka!!!

  17. antipodean says:

Is it strange that neither he, nor Ivanka, wear wedding rings?

  18. WendyNerd says:

I’m going to say (in English) what I always say in Yiddish whenever I read/see anything about Kushner:

He shames us in front of the Gentiles.

For the record, people, that is basically one of the most damning things a Jew can say about another Jew. But it’s true in so many ways. Jared is yet another who opens the door to anti-semitism, islamophobia, and general hatred, and it does reflect on us as a tribe.

I do wish people would stop focusing so much on that and stop talking about all the Jewish groups that apparently hoped he’d be an advocate or find him “too liberal”. Ha! Most Jewish people are as liberal as they come! Don’t those groups warrant a mention in these articles? If you’re going to talk about how Jewish groups view him, mention all of them. Members of our clergy have gotten arrested protesting the Muslim ban.

Most Jewish groups, though, despise him and the whole Trump racket. And that includes Zionist Jews that I know. Some of them, given PRIOR impressions of Kushner, were hopeful he could be a tempering influence. But then he stayed on after Trump hired Bannon, and he works with him. It’s grotesque.

And for the record, people, before you want to get too deeply into the Israel thing, you should know that even anti-Zionist Jews (like myself, though my feelings are a bit more complicated than black-and-white no-Israel/pro-Israel), still side-eye a lot of anti-Zionist gentiles (who aren’t Palestinian. Palestinians have plenty of authority to speak on that. But if you want to bring up Palestine to me, you had better be from there or Jewish, or you’re getting a side-eye. And not just from us. As it turns out, there are a ton of Palestinians who, like Jews, are sick of being used as props in rhetoric that often turns hateful towards either group!).

I don’t see reports on Bannon or Pence being disliked by Christian lobbies (even though there are plenty who dislike them). But Jared? Yeah. Putting it as simply as “Jewish Groups don’t like him” when you’re talking about specifically hard-core, conservative, Zionist groups bothers me.

I mean, I expect as much. It’s typical. But I’m going to ask people to tread carefully here. Keep in mind that in the early days of Hitler’s regime, there were “useful Jews” who supported Hitler, who thought he’d return Germany to glory, were there to basically be props to set the Jewish community at ease until it was too late. Who supported his targeting of homosexuals and the disabled. Because they were useful. Until they weren’t.

People will die because of these people. The Trumps are foul fascists and Jared is one of them.

Jared Trump, a schande vor de goyim!

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Thank you SO MUCH for this … informative and righteous. He is a schande like you wouldn’t believe, oy vey.

    • Betsy says:

Very well put. I know that Jewish people are not a monolithic group (who is? I, as a Lutheran, do not like being lumped in with the Evangelicals, so I try not to lump any one big group together), but they seem to be far more liberal as a group. Anyway, Kushner’s a snake regardless of his religion, as is just about everyone else in that administration.

And so that’s how “schande” is spelled! I know a woman named Shonda, and I know the spoken phrase “schande vor de goyim,” but I couldn’t figure out how it was spelled.

    • HappyMom says:

Yes. He is an embarrassment and then some.

  19. Scout says:

LoL, I hate this tool and his wife with a passion. Remember when they flew Coach in order to meet up with their private plane? A combined net worth of $700 million and we’re supposed to believe they fly Coach with their kids like the rest of us? I can’t wait for the pregnancy announcement to distract from him testifying/being indicted!

  20. Rapunzel says:

Subway taught me one valuable lesson: Never trust guys named Jared. DT is riding for a fall trusting this slimeball.

    • Christin says:

I apologize in advance to anyone who knows a decent Jared, but the only one I ever personally knew was a man-child who seethed with selfishness and loathing underneath a ‘nice/quiet’ demeanor. When the tea party popped up, he finally let his inner self free and ‘came out’ at last.

    • Esmom says:

Haha. Actually I know an amazingly decent Jared. An upstanding, compassionate citizen who’s actively involved in our town’s youth initiatives and a true mentor to so many. I’d like to think he helps balance out the bad Jareds.

      • Christin says:

I feel sympathy for the sandwich spokesman and this one bringing bad press to the name.

My first name is usually cast as a wanton woman whenever used in TV or movies, so I feel the decent Jareds’ pain! 😀

  21. Rapunzel says:

Holy Moly, now even Glenn Beck is slamming the WH for its “professional nepotism”
    Damn!

  22. PaulY says:

“These people also say Kushner can be a shrewd self promoter, knowing how to take credit — and shirk blame — whenever it suits him.”

He’s certainly learned from the best in this regard.

  23. Alexandria says:

One poster mentioned Jared better watch his back and I agree. He is not safe from DT either. DT is delegating a lot to Jared, which can set him up as the fall guy. I just think that’s how DT ‘manages’.

    • Rapunzel says:

I think Ivanka would take daddy’s side in a minute over her hubby. So yeah, Jared, boy, you in danger.

  24. adastraperaspera says:

We have to get these grifters out of the WH. Keep calling your reps, even in red states (like where I am). This mob family is putting the world at serious risk.

  25. JRenee says:

He keeps that cocky smirk on his face. It’s a sad day when he’s the point man for policy and Bannon is pulling the strings in the background. None of these people have this country’s best interest at heart.
