Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner are too busy to attend this year’s Met Gala

Costume Institute Gala 2013

For years now, Ivanka Trump was a somewhat prominent figure in New York society. This is part of the reason why she is so Precious to her orange madman father – Ivanka was part of the glitzy society which often looked down on Donald Trump (for good reason). Bigly was always desperate to be accepted by the cool people. While I would hesitate to say that Ivanka was one of the cool people, she was always more accepted by those high-flying society people than her father. It also helped that she married Jared Kushner, and that their circle of friends included Wendi Deng, Anna Wintour and more. All of which to say… Ivanka and Jared attended the annual Met Gala many times over the years. They got to rub shoulders with movie stars, models and elites and all was well. Now that Ivanka has the nuclear codes and Jared is in charge of everything, they no longer have time for the Met Gala. SAD!

The theme for this year’s Met Gala, hosted by Anna Wintour, is “Avant-garde,” we’re told.

The Vogue editor and her team are already in the intense planning stages for the glamorous event, which takes place in early May, and the dress code will be devoted to the unusual and experimental.

Missing from this year’s host committee are Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, who usually attend every year, but we are told they will be too busy in the White House to act as co-chairs.

Seriously, imagine the outcry if they did attend the Met Gala. My guess is that if they confirmed their plan to attend, Wintour would have to deal with an outpouring of rage and disgust, and many celebrities would cancel their appearances. If Ivanka and Jared did attend, they would probably get booed and heckled on the carpet. Which sort of makes me wish they would attend, just because that would be funny to see. But yeah, obvious story is obvious. Of course they won’t attend. They’re too busy changing Bigly’s passwords and trying to avert disaster at every turn.

All these photos tell me is that Kendoll and Nagini have always had dead, soulless eyes and that this is not a result of receiving the dark mark.

  2. Sam says:

More like folks at the Met Gala would shun them and want nothing to do with them. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even get an invite. Their appearance would not be worth the hassle and the appearance of other more well known celebrities is way more of importance than having Ivanka and her husband attend the Met Gala.

    • Megan says:

I wonder how Anna Wintour politely explained to them that they are now, and forever more, persona non grata at the Met Ball.

      • Zapp Brannigan says:

Anna Wintour took payment from the Assad regime for that article bigging up Bashar al-Assad’s wife Asma in Vogue. If you have money you are in is about as far as her taste and discernment goes.

      • Sam says:

There’s a huge difference between Vogue the magazine and the Met Gala. They’re connected because of fashion and Wintour but the Met Gala goes beyond just being about Vogue and Anna.

      • Cara says:

Great delivery of the facts Zapp Brannigan. Anna Wintor – renowned democrat – is a hypocrite who follows the money. What a surprise.

    • derpshooter says:

Yeah, I’m thinking of that bit in the documentary about Wintour when she’s trying to rearrange the seating charts because people don’t want to share a table with someone. Can you imagine her seating chart problems if these 2 came?!

  3. Lora says:

    Holy, she looked sooo bad

  4. minx says:

    Can’t stand these grifters.

  5. Tiffany says:

Her face is different in every photo. And her sidekick is thining out. Like his soul told him, ‘I’m Out’ and just left.

    • QueenB says:

      He never had a soul.

    • Lightpurple says:

      Her boobs change too

    • Pumpkin Pie says:

You are right about her face.
She doesn’t realize that despite those plastic surgeries time makes its mark. And the worst thing is she spends so much money on making herself ”beautiful” on the OUTSIDE, but she is not working on her INNER beauty.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

The fact that Jared looks has his eyebrows waxed every week and has botox and fillers just like his wife gives me the creeps.

  6. Kyra says:

I wonder when the Met Gala will become self-aware enough to make the theme, “Nepotism”.

  7. robyn says:

Is she is busy planning another strike in Syria? According to her brother she played quite a role in the first strike.

  8. rachel says:

Kushner really looks like Tom Jedusor, It’s frightening.

  9. QQ says:

Aw the poor Darlings… the horror of their Circumstances .. No time to Party and socialize while installing a kleptocratic Monarchy in place… so Sad.. breaks my heart #Injustice

    • Christin says:

They probably realize they’ll be shunned, just like Daddy Orange and his plastic-bot plus one were treated at a televised NYC charity event last year. Hardly anyone acknowledged them.

  10. Nancy says:

Daddy look how sad this picture is, bomb them please. Oh the power this spawn has, in addition to absolutely no style. Her gowns are hideous. How the eff did this happen. It just doesn’t register.

  11. QueenB says:

I still would like to know if Wintour told them to not come. This PR statement is obviously best for everyone to save face but still.

  12. Slowsnow says:

As much as I would like to believe that people would boo them I am pretty sure it wouldn’t happen. Maybe a minor remark or two from no-bullshit people and nothing more. It’s more for the media than for the situation itself.

    • Lisa says:

I think that there would still be a few a**-kissers at the Met Gala trying to get an in with the First Family (ugh!) Kanye, anyone?

      • Lady D says:

…and that’s why they’re not going. It’s not because they are afraid of being booed, that would require humility and the human touch which they so badly lack. They want to avoid the hundreds of common folk trying to curry their favour.

  13. jill says:

Did she get fresh veneers before she set off to the White House? Cause she’s looking like a bunny rabbit….

  14. SusanneToo says:

Lining your pockets while destroying the world is very time intensive.

  15. Cannibell says:

They can’t come to the Met Gala because they’re Biglysitting.

  16. third ginger says:

It won’t be the same without them.

  17. Lightpurple says:

So many countries to bomb, so little time to host galas in NYC.

Kaiser, I really think you are being far too kind to Princess Nagini the Corrupt of the Most Sacred Horcruxed Vagina. She’s not trying to control the Bigly Orange Turd to prevent disaster. She supports him in all things and is riding shotgun for him as he drives us all, careening wildly, into Hell as she scatter shots the internet with pictures of her kids and robs us blind.

  18. Jayna says:

Too busy running the country with their 1 billion jobs Trump gave them, with zero experience. Ugh. I can’t take much more.

  19. Whyme says:

I don’t think they try and avoid anything anymore. They are beyond complicit now, enabling and active participants in this mess now. No longer able to say they didn’t know what was going on, when everyone is landing in jail. I wonder who will care for their children. I hope they thought that far ahead. Morons.

  20. Who says says:

Hey they are not the most popular family in town ( New York City) right now. After the Tiffany Trump incident during fashion week, where there was not much love from the Designers, maybe the prospect of mingling with the liberal Hollywood elite and bad press, and there will be bad press, is a little bit too much for them. To think they gave up their New York lifestyle for Emperor Baby Fists to be dragged through the mud. Sometimes I wonder, in the long run, what Ivanka and Jared gain from advising Baby Fists. They certainly wont be welcomed with open arms back by many New Yorkers. The New York City metropolitan area is basically blue, so Jared won’t be able to come back and run as a Republican for any seat in Congress, so what is it?

    • Lisa says:

Money and connections. Having her kids singing in Chinese to the Chinese Premier has to count for something. I feel bad for their kids being used to hoodwink the American public while the White House is burning and America is a laughing stock.

  21. detritus says:

I’m glad Judas and Herodias are taking their Orangutan wrangling seriously.
Plus side, he won’t need to send that suit to the cleaners yet again.

  22. CK3 says:

On one hand, I think they weren’t invited. On the other hand, the Fashion Industry has never been one to shy away from dressing a rich white woman and they have more or less the same record with people of color that the Trumps have, so maybe the Kushners were too busy.

  23. Kitten says:

    I hate these people.

  24. senna says:

Apropos of nothing, I am feeling super gross about how attractive Jared Kushner is to me. I loathe everything he stands for, every choice he’s made in the political season, his willing allegiance with Trump and the rest of the regime, his poor managerial skills via that great exposee from his former employee, and his liberal-exfoliation nonsense.

And yet! Kushner, lookswise, is exactly the type of slightly effeminate, genteel man that just totally turns my crank. Usually knowing someone is a terrible person is enough to kill this attraction, but not for him. Every time I see him I’m like “yup, I would still hate-f–k him.”

    WHY?! I have issues, right?!

    • Who says says:

We all have faults and unusual attractions and fantasies towards certain people. I think it is called being human.

    • perplexed says:

When he’s in preppy clothing and not jeans, I do think he is physically attractive. I know that Ivanka is rich, but before I learned of his loyalty to Trump I actually kind of wondered how she managed to land him, because I think his face appears to at least naturally be his while very little of her face is real. Now that I know more about I do realize that fakeness in both looks and personality is not a deal-breaker.

      • senna says:

Ivanka is so puzzling in her looks – in pictures she looks pretty good, but in motion she’s like uncanny valley personified. Yes, the loyalty to Trump factor must have (weirdly) been part of the deal of being with Ivanka? I imagine if he were a hardcore democrat her father’s politics would have been unpalatable – though Trump IS a former Democrat voter, so maybe Jared is just a pure opportunist.

  25. Froma says:

Jared Kushner totally looks like Heather Christie ,who is the mother of Everly Bear, who is the son of Anthony “All my girlfriends are 22, but I am allowed to age” Kiedis.

    Weird face on that Jared.

  26. adastraperaspera says:

Hard to believe that the Met gala crowd would give them any trouble if they attended. Hmmm. Not sure what the real reason is, as like her father, Ivanka is a wannabe. Of course, god help us if she now really believes that she’s a bona fide princess and the gala crowd is beneath her.

  27. Achoo! says:

Meh……I’m always too busy to attend the met ball. Even if I was invited .

  28. Pandy says:

Tom and Gisele would have saved them a seat at their table.
