ummm. oksana wasn’t there, another unrelated woman who looked like her was. it was very awkward indeed. he started off calmly but did not finish that way. I don’t blame him for being pissed at being photographed during mass the week before and for having his communion reception status broadcast like it has been, scandal aside.

How many years a couple has been married has ZERO bearing on getting an annulment. What counts is whether or not the marriage was sacramental. This is to say, a marriage that was a valid LEGAL marriage, might not have been sacramental for the Church. In particular, it is not valid if any of the part didn’t believe in the “till death us do part”, if it’s not open to children, if exclusiveness (aka fidelity) isn’t believed into.

Snoop, I agree with that sentiment, and it is an admirable one.

In Mr. Gibson’s case, he has openly committed adultery and humiliated his wife and children. He has also said, as a very public person, hateful things about Jews. Whether those things were said out of true bigotry or out of habits he learned from his home in childhood when expressing rage…it calls into question some basic things about his character.

It’s not about throwing stones. It’s about seeing someone who has everything this life can offer a human being…just throw it all away and then have the balls to say people shouldn’t be upset with him or question the wisdom of his bad choices.

If he would sit down, shut up, and live with some quiet dignity from now on…people would stop questioning him.

You can’t have your cake given to you, eat it in front of the international media, and expect that people will not formulate opinions based on the performance.

My mom got an annulment after 25 yrs and 5 kids. Dad was a raging, violent drunk. She agreed not to remarry unless in the church and went to tons of counseling, and paid “fees” she really couldn’t sfford. I can’t see my mom’s church alowing him to rant either – this does not ring true for a Traditionist Catholic church – let alone a post VaticanII church. Big money apparently does buy salvation on earth. He needs to shut up and quit embarrassing himself and his former family. Can’t wait to see how my former church reacts to this racist elitist.
