No, Senator Kamala Harris is not ‘hysterical.’ This is not even a debate.

I’ve had to write about Senator Kamala Harris putting up with some BS twice in the span of one week. At this point, I’m ready to declare Sen. Harris as The One. Let’s just start working to elect her president in 2020 right now, okay? Because I am here for it. Last week, Sen. Harris was questioning Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein when she was interrupted by the committee chairman and told to be “courteous.” She happened to be questioning Rosenstein about how independent the independent counsel really is, which is a subject that has come up repeatedly this week. Then, at the Jeff Sessions hearing, Sen. Harris was interrupted again when she had Ol’ Elf on the ropes. Well, Sen. Harris tweeted some stuff, including a fundraising link to re-elect more women to the Senate.

These tweets are excellent as stand-alone statements regarding Jeff Sessions’ testimony and all of the bulls–t Kamal Harris has put up with so far. But they also work as efficient non-reactions to a stupid controversy over whether or not Kamala Harris is “hysterical.” Former Trump spokesman Jason Miller said Sen. Harris was suffering from “hysteria” during the Senate hearing. The exact quote was that Sessions “knocked away some of the hysteria from Kamala Harris and some of the Democrats who wanted to make this a big partisan show.”

That word is the last refuge of misogynists and a–holes. You’re a bitch or a slut or you’re “hysterical.” Ugh. This world.

Yea the host was not having it. Hysteria is rooted in misogyny if you know anything about psychology. Only women were diagnosed with hysteria which is code for “omg this woman has string feelings and is expressing them help”
Also did we see the news that McCains wife is getting a position in the WH? So can we stop pretending McCain is anything but a GOP shrill?

    • SusanneToo says:

It was obvious long ago that McCain was “all hat, no cattle.” Sad!

      • Becky says:

It’s ridiculous and obvious misogyny. If it was a man asking those questions they would have been praised for their tough questioning.

    • susanne says:

What year is this, 1850? Her uterus is roaming about her body and causing her to open her mouth? This is some hystery if you’re interested…https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3480686/
Harris is a bright spot of hope for me in this mess…we need some heroes right now.

      • Dbw says:

I hope her uterus roams onto some of these jerks and menstruates/cramps on them! That’s the only legit time to call it “hysterical”

    • DeniseMich says:

So, I don’t think Kamala Harris should run for President in 2020. The Democrats need to win because nothing will be achieved in these 4 years.

America still clearly has issues with women leading especially brown women. Combine that with the fact that she is a 1st generation born in America, the Republicans will make her life a misery.

Let her continue to do great work where she is and let’s reduce the number of old misogynistic Republican males elected to any office.

I think McCain and his wife are two separate entities. I read that Ivanka turned Daddy on to Cindy and he was only cordial to John to get to her. Cindy does good work for child sex trafficking. I see no negative in her working with any US president.

      • Alba says:

        @DeniseMich
I hear your concerns but exactly who would be a guaranteed win for for the democrats? I am assuming you are saying it should be a white male? Who? Biden must be the only white male candidate who would probably be in with a great shot but I am not even convinced he will.
Yes, America has an issue with women candidates but Clinton despite being a woman did win the popular vote and that was Clinton who lets face it has a lot of baggage and has been a divisive figure for decades. Apart from Obama many great qualities in part I also think he managed to break through the glass ceiling because he did not have as much political baggage as Clinton.. The longer Harris stays in the senate the more she, like most politicians will have to compromise and accumulate baggage that right wing demagogues and puritanical Bernie bros alike will attack her with. So am not so sure its necessarily better for her to wait until she is old like Clinton.

      • Alex says:

The issue is that again McCain is supposed to be a check to the POTUS. When family members start becoming part of their administration its a huge conflict

      • Birdix says:

Alba, I like Harris and would welcome her running for higher office. But she already has baggage for conservatives to unpack from her time in the DA’s office in San Francisco.

      • Alba says:

        Birdix
Everyone who has held public office would have some kind of baggage but come on she has nowhere near the baggage of Clinton thats just a ridiculous assertion.
I mean if you compare her to the other candidates that are being touted theres Cory Booker who has actual damaging baggage in how he has operated as a politican with his ties to big money, pharmacy, Devois and Trump kids. Hes recently been trying to reinvent himself as part of the resistance but that stuff is going to come back to bite him if he runs. And lets be real theres Bernies past voting record which isn’t always as pure as his fans would like us to think. His record on black issues, gun control and LGBT issues really isn’t that impressive. And I seem to remember some republicans or media people saying GOP had made a whole dossier on Bernies leftish past from the 60 and 70 and 80s and how they would have destroyed him if he had been the candidate. Seriously anyone who goes up against the GOP will be vilified. They tried that with Obama too and he was so squeaky clean they couldn’t find anything that stuck so they innvented the birther conspiracy theories.. lets just say it will be tough whoever it is.

      • denisemich says:

@Alba, Harris is Basically indian (east and west). She went to a historically black college so there is a determination that she must be black.

This is hazy because at best she probably isn’t more than 1/3 afro Caribbean. She is also married to a white guy.

While not a problem for me, I have lost my faith in America. You can

      • Alba says:

“Harris’ mother was an Indian immigrant, a breast cancer specialits and her father, Donald Harris, is a black Jamaican immigrant and a Stanford University Economics professor”.

First of all I am not sure how this turned into a she’s not black enough contest?
Secondly I am curious as why the Indian part cancels out her black Jamaican parentage but the black part isn’t not cancelled out in, say Obama, whose mother, was white?
Thirdly do people really care that much about the color of the person she is married too in 2017?
Harris is one of the most vocal BLM senators out there, shouldn’t that matter more?

      • DeniseMich says:

Would Obama have won if Michelle Obama was white or other? I don’t know.
Elections are about marketing. What will Harris be marketed as? Is she Black enough for the black vote? Is she the Asian vote? Is she just the woman vote?

At present, Kamala has no pictures of her father on her site only her mother in a sari.

The DNC has to decide what she is and then sell that. I am not saying this is right I am saying this is how it is and how it has been done. Her sister is probably a better candidate.

Before we even dig into Kamala’s background she has too many 1sts. She would be the first Woman President, She would be the first brown woman president. she would be the first president with a racially different spouse. She would be the first president with Asian Heritage.

It is a lot. It would be easier to pick someone else. Also, no BLM isn’t enough because it isn’t the black vote. A lot of people support that who don’t vote or aren’t registered to vote regardless of color. I fear BLM lost traction by not placing their vote behind either candidate which means we can’t see how the movement would impact an election in the middle of America where it is needed. I don’t know if BLM will have as many politicians listening based on what happend in the last election. People like Colin Kap were not good.

      • Alba says:

Read about it, its already there they dont have do much just tell the story of her life. Harris was raised by parents who were active in the civil rights movement in the 60s. She grew up with some prominent civil rights figures around the house and was in a push chair on those marches. She and her sister sang in a baptist choir and grew up in a black neighbourhood. She attended the historically black college Howard.

If they could sell Obama who was raised mostly by a white midwestern grandparents in Hawaii to black people I really dont understand why they wouldn’t be able to sell Bay Area raised Harris to the same people. I mean black people voted almost exclusively for Clinton and you are telling me they wouldn’t get behind someone with Harris pedigree?

As for having a photo of her mom you dont think maybe the fact that her mom passed away and her dad is still alive plays more a part in her honouring her mother in this way than any say preference of one parent over the other?

Yes, the idea that she is too many first is a legit concern but lets remember thats what they said about Obama too.. If the candidate is good enough ( and I am not saying she is.. yet..) I think it can be done. I absolutely dont think democrats should give up on a female candidate because of Clinton, who for all her strengths had a lot of issues.
Finally if you look at elections going back to Bill Clinton the presidents have all triumphed over someone with far more experience so the evidence is there that Harris relative inexperience could be an advantage.
Curious to hear who you think is the better candidate, by the way?

      • M.A.F. says:

I wouldn’t mind her running but I think 2020 is too soon, especially on a national stage. If she were running for Governor of California, then yes, I would vote for her tomorrow. But I want to see her take on Washington a little longer, which is what I wish Obama had done. I thought he ran way too soon as well.

      • AnneC says:

Don’t agree. Voters seem to like neophytes without 20-30 years of political baggage. Obama was an incredible fresh and uplifting new figure in politics, that’s why he beat HRC in primaries. Harris can be that same kind of candidate and it doesn’t matter about her AG stuff in calif, Repubs will slander any dem who gets nomination. Of course the difference between TRump and Obama/Harris is that they are brilliant thinkers with experience in governing and policy making. Bernie and Biden (and even warren) are too old to run especially if trump is still in office.

    • Megan says:

I think he meant Kamala Harris causes hysteria in white men.

    • hmmm says:

Well, they believe climate change is a hoax, so belief in a travelling womb fits right in with stupid.

    • Rogue Economist says:

+1 to Alex. Just the very word “hysterical” is rooted in gender bias. No woman should be referred to as “hysterical” at all, ever.

Hypothesis test: What would a pundit have to be intending if he referred to a MALE as “hysterical” and he didn’t mean “comedic”? He’d be aiming to emasculate the subject. That’s why it’s rarely, if ever, used to describe an aggressive man.

And if ever used for ANY male politician, I’d nominate Mr. Dixie Snowflake AG himself for “getting nervous” about being cut off from his time-wasting. Harris had 7 minutes to get answers from him. He was all about running the clock.

Harris is a former criminal prosecutor who knows when a witness is being evasive. No shit she went assertive on his vapors-getting-azz.

  2. SusanneToo says:

This tweet sums it up nicely:
    http://twitter.com/anandwrites/status/874770184082477056

Those men, and so many others, aren’t fit to shine Ms Harris’ shoes.

    • AnnaKist says:

Thanks for the link, SusanneToo. I’m not American and don’t have twitter, so it’s good to read what ordinary people (as opposed to politicians) are saying. There were some great tweets in there, as well as a few of the usual nasty comments from trumpsters. Always love reading your many posts, too!

      Kamala Harris is magnificent.

  3. astrid says:

    Yup, 2020!

    • INeedANap says:

Kamala Harris for anything with power at this point. Grand Poobah? Supreme Court Justice? Queen of My Heart?

Imagine being so up your own a$$ you can’t perceive the brilliance of a woman of Kamala Harris. What a shame for them.

    • Anna says:

I would love Kamala Harris to run but to be honest, I think Hillary is planning a rematch for 2020.

  4. Honey says:

That’s not hysterical. At the most, I’d say frustration and impatience. Nothing wrong with that

  5. Indiana Joanna says:

Sessions was the one looking on the brink of hysteria practically fanning his sweating self as he was squirming when trying to get out of answering Senator Harris’ direct questions. He’s quite the antebellum character with his “I do declare you are making me nervous” and smelling salts at the ready while being asked which self proclaimed legal procedures allowed him to obfuscate.

    • Esmom says:

I totally agree. You could see the panic and anger in his eyes at times and it was really unsettling to see him fight and scramble to stonewall. And what about his tantrum when Sen. Wyden was questioning him? Definitely bordering on “hysterical.”

    • Olenna says:

IKR. Beauregard is quite the actor, too. He could have played the stereotypical peevish, sociopathic little man with aspirations too big for his little pants in any of those 1940’s gangster movies.

    • OhDear says:

Plus how he threw a tantrum during Senator Wyden’s questioning.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

Exactly. I thought she was absolutely cool, calm, collected during the whole sh*tshow. She was prepared, she was not having it. “It” being his foolish display of “Oh I don’t recall.” She also got in a few “if you don’t know, maybe you’re not fit for the position” zingers that did not make him look good. He started to look like the put-upon little racist elf that he is about 3 minutes in. The mask slipped and it was glorious. I would happily spend the rest of my career making her coffee.

I can’t even comment on the “hysterical”. It’s not 1890. Moving on.

    • ORIGINAL T.C. says:

Yep, Sessions was the hysterical one. Stephan Colbert had a great takedown in support of Senator Harris: @2:20 https://youtu.be/DYw7MGYmUoQ

  6. Eric says:

It’s an extremely rude comment from Mr Potato Jason Miller. The word derives from uterus (hysterectomy) and it’s very sexist to say at any time. Shut this clown down. Why the hell does CNN have this overripe sweaty-palmed imbecile on to shill for Emperor Zero?

I only watch MSNBC because CNN has Mr Potato and Jeffrey Asshat Lord on.

    • Beth says:

He’s so obnoxious! Jeffrey Lord is smackable. Last night during a discussion about yesterday’s shooting, Jack Kingston tried to start talking about when Hillary got donations.
They’re guys who will say absolutely anything to support Republicans, no matter how foolish it sounds

    • Betsy says:

Considering Jason’s filthy extramarital life, he should pipe down.

      • Mel says:

Do tell!!!! I can’t stand the guy!!!

      • Jaded says:

        From The Palmer Report:

“Jason Miller raised eyebrows on Christmas Eve when he suddenly resigned as White House Communications Director just two days after he’d been appointed to the role. And now it turns out Miller was quitting even as another Trump advisor, A.J. Delgado, was publicly referring to the married Miller as her “baby-daddy” – thus turning the Trump show into something resembling the Jerry Springer show.”

Oh, and his wife was pregnant at the time, had her baby in January. What a sleaze-bag.

  7. rachel says:

I can’t believe that in freaking 2017 they are still doing this. Actually I can believe it. Also Session racism was in full force during his exchange with Harris. He wanted to insult her so bad, you could see on his face the pure outrage of having to being talk like this by what he thinks is the lowest group of people in his racist fantasy world.

    • Kate says:

      He was so outraged.

    • Honey says:

I’m a black woman and I don’t think that was racism. Maybe being sexist and extremely rude. Nothing was said about color

      • Shambles says:

You don’t have to explicitly say something about color in order to be racist? C’mon now, we are insightful humans here. Everyone’s demeanor completely changes when talking to Sen. Harris, moreso than when they speak to any other woman

      • Veronica says:

This is the guy that was too racist for TEXAS of all places. He may have learned to be less overt in his behavior, but it’s clear from some of the policies he’s pushing for (increased drug enforcement, harsher sentencing) that it’s still informing who he is.

      • littlemissnaughty says:

Uh, nothing was said about sex or gender either. Not during questioning. I don’t understand this argument. It’s not a secret that the man is a racist.

      • hmmm says:

Oh c’mon. He doesn’t even think she’s totally human.

      • Magnoliarose says:

I disagree. Honestly, Bo Jeffery was ready to spit fire. She made him nervous or so he said. He was nervous because he wasn’t sure he would not call her Gal before he could check himself

  8. Shambles says:

Is it 18 f*cking 50?! We aren’t even regressing decades anymore. We’re regressing centuries into the past. Back when nobody cared about women’s mental or physical health at all, every single possible condition a woman could have was labeled as “hysteria,” because women don’t matter. What a completely archaic, blatantly sexist, and insulting thing to say.

In the real world, Senator Harris is a no-bullshit empress of justice and logic, and the future president of the United States

  9. Kate says:

And note that McCain who was just there as a guest and did not even seem awake during Comey’s hearing took time out of his nap to scold Kamala because she was going too hard on Bigot Bilbo. Maverick, my a**!!

  10. IlsaLund says:

    #KamalaHarris2020

And no one can say a damn thing about experience or qualifications after voting this moronic bozo the clown into the White House.

  11. lizzie says:

you would think the top lawyer in the country would be more deft at responding to even the most skillful of prosecutors. but as session’s idol foghorn leghorn once said “boy i say boy you are as twisted up as a feather in the wind”

  12. Eric says:

    Another foghorn quote:
“He’s more confused than a mouse at a burlesque show”

    That’s Sessions

    • AnnaKist says:

I love this one (we had MathsOlympics at my school today!):

“I-I-I know what you’re gonna say son. When two halves is gone there’s nuthin’ left – and you’re right. It’s a little ol’ worm who wasn’t there. Two nuthins is nuthin’. That’s mathematics son. You can argue with me but you can’t argue with figures. Two half nuthins is a whole nuthin’.”

This might be too highbrow for Wanking Sessions.

  13. Katherine says:

Load of bs. I’ve met a lot of women like Harris, I always envied them because they could get appropriately aggressive without losing their cool. Funny thing, I’m becoming more like one of these women because sometimes things just don’t get going until you change your tone and press someone to acknowledge your interests. They haven’t seen hysterical if they think this is hysterical because this was professional, plenty of males in her position would use the same tone and manner. Like wth

  14. EsS says:

    Senator Harris delivers.
I love, love, love April Ruffin’s ‘How not to laugh at Sessions’. In my head, every time AG Jeff Sessions name is spoken, April’s voice over is automatically dubbed in. It’s the only way I made it through the testimony.
    https://youtu.be/IYeOCyNfdCg

  15. lower-case deb says:

Kamala Harris and Sally Yates should run together (Ted Cruz hightailing it out of the room after being given a thorough “education” was still a highlight of the year). and someone please give Ruth Bader Ginsburg an immortality pill already.

    …and that’s just for starters.

  16. Jamie42 says:

What I loved about her response both times was that she just relentlessly went forward after being rebuked by the men–no argument, no response at all on her part, except to stay on her own line of questioning. And what she got out of Sessions was that he had absolutely no reason for refusing to answer the questions–no policy, no legal justification, whatsoever.

  17. Kelly says:

Kamala Harris and Sally Yates are among the few reasonable adults in Washington now. It’s telling that women of both parties in Congress are the ones committed to being civil and acting like adults. Their male counterparts, especially those on the right, could learn a thing or two from them.

It’s the tangerine man toddler in chief, Sessions, Cruz, McCain, to name a few who are the actual hysterical snowflakes who need their safe spaces.

  18. Mel says:

You know what I hated ? The elf’s little smirky face when she got interrupted. I wanted to smack that grin off! He got all dude bro with the others. You could hear them think “that’s why women’s place is not in Washington.”
F… you Beauregard for stonewalling! Poor soul got “nervous”?! I feel like Scarlet O’Hara could have kicked his butt at this point.

  19. Rapunzel says:

Kamala is fabulous and I’d vote for her in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I can already hear the smear campaign against her…. It’s already starting. I’m not sure my heart can take yet another awesome qualified woman suffering such public slander. It’s so disheartening.

    • Alba says:

The worst thing is the Bernie Bros are already on the warpath. They are belittling this woman and talking about how women like her …”because identity politics.” I swear the most fanatical Bernie supporters are as patriarchal and misogynist as Trump supporters.
Why is it identity politics when we women vote for a women we are impressed by but just politics men vote for a man they are impressed by?

      • adastraperaspera says:

I wonder if some of these “bros” are the bots swarming back.

      • Kitten says:

Do you have links? Curious to read.

      • Alba says:

        Its all over twitter.
Note: Bernie Bros supported Sanchez over Harris in the cali election.Harris and Sanchez occupy more or less the same positions but with the noted difference that Harris has not made Islamophobic comments, nor was she the one who ended up offending Native americans with the whole war cry gate and make insulting comments about Vietnamese people. Whats more Sanchez claimed that Obama only endorsed Kamala because they are both black. I mean this says it all to me… Apparently if a candidate fit their idea of anti establishment they are willing to overlook all kinds of gross comments about minorities and women.. sigh..

      • Tiffany :) says:

“I swear the most fanatical Bernie supporters are as patriarchal and misogynist as Trump supporters.”

I agree. I’d like to think that their rage re: Clinton was just about Hillary herself…but I think it is honestly more than that. And I think your clarification is important. It isn’t ALL Bernie supporters, but the most fanatical.

      • Kitten says:

@Alba-Wow. Firstly, thanks for that background because I didn’t know that about Sanchez vs. Harris. I wish I could say I was surprised but some of the hardcore Sanders-supporters are both vindictive and misogynistic AF, sadly.

They blew a gasket when Ellison lost to Perez and they turned on Warren when she finally endorsed HRC. They never forgot about that BTW and still slam her incessantly, despite her consistently great work as a progressive Senator who fights for what they believe in.

        Sigh.

      • Magnoliarose says:

The Bbros are gross but some of them are Russians posing as supporters. Some of them are fake. It was part of Russia’s plan to put a wedge between HRC voters and Bernie voters. Take some of it with a grain of salt. Some but not all.

      • LittlestRoman says:

Magnoliarose, that makes a lot of sense re: Russian bots. I continue to marvel at the spitting-hatred tone that pervaded the Democratic primary last year. Foreign interference makes a lot of sense. To be clear, I’m not discounting the existence of actual, misogynistic Bernie Bros. It just seemed to me that the vitriol was completely over-the-top.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I do agree some are fake/Russian bots, but I think a lot of what they did was spread misinformation to be consumed by actual voters.

I know some Bernie Bros that were lapping up the misinformation during the campaign. They’d share an article from a dubious source about Clinton corruption and absolutely RAGE about Hillary. The Russians were the source of the misinformation, but many Americans swallowed the lies and shared them. Those Americans are still going to be voting during the next elections.

      • Hannah says:

They tried that in the uk too to discredit corbyn. But the people didn’t buy it. Very interesting because media commentators are saying murdochs news cooperation influence is waning in Britain as its the first time the party he backed didn’t get the majority.
If those Bernie bros buy all the fake scaremongering about Hilary it appears they aren’t very intelligent.

  20. Rapunzel says:

Oh, and can we skip the word “hysteria” for a second and focus on how Miller phrased the rest of the statement? He said Sessions “knocked away some of the hysteria from” Harris. He’s basically implying Sessions gave the black lady a beat down. Substitute another, less misogynistic, word for hysteria and it’s still a gross statement. He could’ve said nonsense or rudeness. It’s still a white dude implying another white dude manhandled a black lady. It’s not just sexist; it’s racist and implies violence.

  21. Anon says:

As a former elected official, albeit on a much smaller stage, I dealt with this type of misogyny for years. Being interrupted is the norm, and having limited allies to back you when you persist is exhausting.

I agree with Ms. Harris, we do need more women representatives in local, state, and federal offices, but the cost is much higher emotionally, socially, and professionally. Your spouses and children are targets for scrutiny, and your male peers have no regard for deadlines, and think nothing of being ill prepared and require much more time while in session to review information they should have otherwise been very familiar. Sessions and meetings always took four times longer than they should because my male colleagues couldn’t be bothered with preparing by reading materials that were delivered to their doorsteps weeks.

  22. adastraperaspera says:

Like Kamala, my life partner has been an attorney for many years. She constantly deals with male clients shouting her down in meetings and on con calls and telling her to speak faster “get to the point” or slow down “make this explanation more business friendly” (dumb down) and etc. Men often raise their voice to her, but never to her male colleagues. Sen. Harris knows this kind of treatment of women lawyers is everyday stuff. She swatted it out of the way like a fly. She has prosecuted many liars and knows what one looks like. She is a total pro! She also looks like she could be a leader on the Amazon island in “Wonder Woman.”

  23. Dawnchild says:

I think the first woman president will be a WOC. It takes more strength to withstand and thrive in spite of racism and sexism…builds the fighter even more. And I see more women of color who are able to stand on their own without deferring to a white patriarchy for a benchmark. After all, if only one Clinton had a shot at the presidency, why couldn’t it have been HRC who went first? But no, Bill (with all his political Achilles heels) had to go first. God forbid a male ego shouldn’t be put first.

  24. Ann says:

He does, what men have been doing for centuries: defensive projection. Have you ever noticed that anything women are alleged to be men are: men are terrible drivers (they cause most accidents), hell hath no fury like a man (scorned women rarely kill the men who reject them), men as a group are terrible at handling money (hello 2007), men overreact to any real or imagined slight with exaggerated emotions and violence (I’d call that hysterical). Bill Cosby, the greatest liar of them all, calls the 60 women accusing him “liars”. And so on.

  25. Joannie says:

I am the only woman working in an office of men. They treat me the way Ms. Harris was while questioning Sessions. They talk over me without answering whenever I challenge them. They try to make me feel insignificant. Men feel threatened by clever women who dont back down so they resort to the “hysteria” bs. They are small men and it has nothing to do with height.
    I admire her tenacity.

    • Kate says:

Joannie, I admire YOUR tenacity. Your coworkers sound like dickwads!

      • pinetree13 says:

My work place is sexist as well. Only it’s all subtle stuff, nothing you could go to HR for. It’s very depressing.

  26. Giddy says:

I’d vote for KH for anything. It’s so difficult for men like McCain to deal with an intelligent woman. Not only is she brilliant, but she knows how to question, and Sessions was clearly filibustering her. It was his way of refusing to answer. The chairman should have directed Sessions to answer instead of calling Kamala Harris down. She remained cool and did not react to the incredibly misogynistic treatment. Kudos to California for electing her. I remain totally embarrassed and humiliated by the two Texas toads, Cornyn and Cruz.

My goodness this feels like watching a movie. America what is this? A lot of sexist f**tards on this Harris case alone. I’m not American but yea please make Harris 2020 happen.

**i guess this comment would also qualify as Hysteria Mr “Former Trump spokesman”**

I loved Colbert’s response. Towards the end in this link https://youtu.be/DYw7MGYmUoQ

She’s my woman crush! 😍 We need more Intelligent, badass , ballsy female leaders..I hope she runs for president or at least gets on the ticket as VP.

Hysterical and hysterectomy come from the Latin root word that relates specifically to women. It was a sexist comment.

Thank you for that headline. And incoherent John McCain trying to shush her is extra galling. (A biographer mentioned recently that his nickname in high school was McNasty, so I guess he was always a jerk.)

As a potential 2020 candidate, however, Harris shanked herself by giving a Trumper a pass, right before entering congress:

I don’t know if that will matter greatly in the long run. There’s a question about how much she was personally involved in investigation that case anyway.
If she keeps up the good work in the senate the people will associate her with that not some stuff that happened when she was DA in Cali. There’s 3 years to go and she just got started as a sentator. I see a lot more potential in her as a transformative candidate than various older candidates. She has emerged as one of the leading lights of the resistance and she just has to keep working.

  32. Shannon says:

Wow. Hysterical? Really? I loved seeing that woman take up for her though. “Oooh, I’m doing my job well and asking tough questions, that’s so hysterical, I must be bleeding from somewhere.” OMG *rolling my eyes so hard*
