Here are some photos of Gigi Hadid out and about in New York yesterday. This isn’t really her street-style – she was going to an event, and she just happily pap-strolled on the street ahead of the event so everyone could see her outfit. The ensemble is being called “rock ‘n roll Barbie” by her stylist. I am not feeling it. The leather suit is Kreist fall/winter 2017, and the platform shoes are by Aquazzura (they cost $950). I actually think Gigi is a really beautiful young woman, but this is not her best look, and I’m saying that as someone who doesn’t mind a fuller-legged trouser. Like, I enjoy a pair of pants with a flare. But this is just full bell-bottom, correct? I also feel like the jacket is TOO cropped.
Another problem I have with this is that it’s in a dreadful shade of Millennial Pink. By now, you’ve seen all of the thinkpieces on Millennial Pink and how the color is either The Color of the Decade or Already Over. I don’t mind pink in general, nor do I mind Millennial Pink in moderation. But the color isn’t happening in moderation, at all. It’s everywhere. It’s overdone. It’s on every book cover, dress, Pinterest and wedding. The combination of the Millennial Pink + Gigi Hadid feels like everything in these photos was manufactured in a lab by cautious tastemakers.

She’s one of the few people who can can carry that off. I’m a fan of hers, I like her expressive eyes. Not a fan of that color…it’s too close to the 80s dusty rose hue.

I don’t find her really beautiful. She’s cute and sometimes really striking but not beautiful. The suit is a pink nightmare.
I don’t like it but I agree with her stylist. The first thing I thought of was one of my barbie’s outfits from the 80s.

lol stinky, her pic and the WW actress’s were side by side and their noses looked almost identical. All Hollywood noses end up looking the same!
She has great hair. She is starting to look too thin (I get that it’s her job to be thin, but she looked better when she had weight on her). Seems like her sister is taking over the jobs Gigi and Kendull used to have.
People still speculate about Gigi’s weight loss even after she explained it is due to her thyroid problems.

I don’t think the fabric works with that kind of extreme flare. The seams are sinking back into themselves, and it looks odd.
How warm is it there? I would be sweating just walking from the door to the car! Then I would have problems getting out of the outfit.

I love it! Not as a wearable outfit obv but it’s almost artistic, costume like. She looks fabulous if completely nuts. But I’m really here to wow over the prep. As someone who has had the same chipped nail polish for over a fortnight I’m in awe of her nail / lipstick / outfit coordination game. Please can someone lend me whoever sorts that stuff, my life badly needs them in it.
