The last time we saw Josh Brolin and Diane Lane in paparazzi photos, Josh looked annoyed and Diane seemed mildly amused. That was before Josh was supposedly busted cheating, with the details published in last week’s In Touch. Josh and Diane were photographed out together earlier this week, and they were both smiling and Josh was hugging Diane in a show of solidarity. (The photos are exclusive to INF and we can’t post them, but you can see them in the latest In Touch with the Gosselin’s split on the cover) Maybe nothing happened between Josh and that woman who spent the night with him in New Orleans in a “private location,” maybe Josh convinced Diane nothing happened, or maybe she knows he’s stepping out on her and has decided to put up with it. Whatever is going on with them, they’re still together and they want us to know that everything is fine.
In Touch claims in their follow-up story this week that Josh’s stepmother Barbra Streisand convinced Diane to make her marriage work:
Diane Lane is vowing to stick by her husband, Josh Brolin, even after he was caught red-handed with another woman, and it’s her mother-in-law, Barbara Streisand, who is encouraging her to fight for her marriage. As In Touch revealed, Josh was caught getting cozy in New Orlands with local Melissa Green, and even though Josh, 41, insisted to Diane that it was nothing more than harmless flirting, an insider says that the… actress still has her doubts.
“Diane loves her husband more than anything, but she’s fed up with his bad-boy behavior,” the insider says. “This is not the first time she’s heard stories of his wandering eye.”
The insider says that Diane, 44, is now planning to spend more time in New Orleans with Josh while his finishes filming the movie Jonah Hex, an idea suggested by Barbra….
“Diane wants to make it work for the kids.”

Did Josh cheat on Diane and get caught? In Touch had plenty of evidence that there was more than just harmless flirting. Josh was photographed with the woman at night at a bar, and they were both photographed leaving a building together the next morning. A witness supposedly saw the other woman Melissa, 30, sit on Josh’s lap and make out with him at the bar. If all these details are true, it looks like Josh got busted cheating. It’s hard to imagine any other scenario considering that they were photographed outside the same building the next day looking guilty. It’s possible they were staying in separate rooms, but then why did they leave at the same time?
It looks like Diane is standing by Josh, though. They each have children from earlier marriages. Josh, 41, has son Trevor, 20, and daughter Eden, 14, from his marriage to Alice Adair, which was from 1988 to 1992. Diane, 44, has daughter Eleanor, 15, from her marriage to Christopher Lambert from 1988 to 1994. Given how close Eleanor and Eden are in age they could be good friends as well as step sisters.

Sometimes I am baffled by the choices some women make.
Example: my friend is 52, her husband (of 14 years, but together 22 years) is 42. He has been cheating on her with a 19 year old for the past year, but the girlfriend lives far away, so it was in the form of basically a few trips, texting and phone calling. THEN he decided to bring up the girlfriend for the summer…and live with the girlfriend IN THE SAME HOUSE as his wife (my friend) and their 10 yr old daughter.
And she is allowing this. (Despite my all but bodily throwing her into a lawyer’s office). She is so desperate to keep this jacka$$ she is willing to have this teenage girlfriend thrown in her face, in her home, in front of their child and will do nothing to stop him.
A friend who works in family law once said (based on cases she’s seen) that men think with their d*cks and women are terrified of being alone.

Melissa Green was just one in a million, fast-food like i heard someone said. There’s a lot of things to think before you decide to divorce or leave someone. There’s childrens, the story that you have together, but most of all, money. I read somewhere that Sean Penn, one of the buddies of Stupid Broshlin(Josh Brolin)had cheated on her wife several times, and one of these times we went on a vacation with her, rent two different rooms, one for him and other for his wife, and left without any excuse. But after she got tired of being alone in the room,she took the elevator and knocked on his door to chat a little while. Surprise! When the door opened, Sean was half naked there with two russians prostitutes. This is cheating at the best! Next to Sean, Josh is just an apprentice, and to think they are good friends. To no 28#, What’s Going ON: Josh Brolin & Diane at this past Oscars was about him & his Oscar nod! On the red carpet the photographers kept asking Josh to step aside & take pictures of Diane even though she wasn’t up for an award. Josh got a little pissed & walked off, letting go of her hand & she felt his discomfort! And who can blame him! He seems to be in her shadow, considering she is not a very strong actress. He’s much more talented as a writer, director, producer & actor than she is -Diane herself has said that! Well, i was married for four years and i was cheated by my husband at least one time, he told me cause the girl revealed that she was pregnant but he was very sorry for everything and told me that was just one night. We tried to make things work cause altough we didn’t had any children, i thought i loved him so much and he love me so much that we should give it a try. But the nine months of pregnancy were horrible.The girl was always calling and always making excuses for him to go after her. The last time she called, she said she was feeling some pains (witch was a big lie). It was 2 a.m. and my husband told me that he had to go cause it was his child. That’s when i realized that i would have to put up with that crap till the end of my life. I was tired, not of my husband, but of the situation. The love and passion that i felt for him just went away and i couldn’t see him with the same eyes anymore. When he arrived at home that morning, after spending the night with her, i ask him for divorce and i felt so released.The act of cheating destroys everything, even a solid marriage but give us strengh to go on and fight for other things and for our own happiness. All of this just to say that maybe Diane Lane is standing by her husband now, but i’m sure that she doesn’t look at Josh Brolin with the same eyes anymore, and sooner or later, she’s gonna leave him and try to find her happiness with someone else.

Diane is a fine actress, but i think she doesn’t have any control on her personal life, especially when we’re talking about her marriage. It’s horrible. There’s no way she is happy with josh, like i’m sure that he’s no happy with her. I read somewhere that the problems in their relationship started a long time ago on the set of Unfaithful, a movie that Diane starred with Richard Gere. It seems that Richard was fed up with Josh because he was always inside Diane’s trailer, and she kept comming late for the shootings constantly. On the set, everybody could hear them scream and fight like two crazy persons, and one day, Diane just disappeared from the shooting location without any excuse and was away with Josh for hours. This problems didn’t went to public at that time cause producers kept everything in secret, but Richard said that he would never work with Diane again and that she had to much problems in her personal life. Thanks god, the movie was jackpot, and that’s why Richard decided to give it another try in Nights in Rodanthe (witch he shouldn’t cause the movie was pretty awful).
All of this just to say that Diane and Josh relationship is really toxic, violent and not good for any of them, especially for her. Hope to see her divorce this guy anytime soon.

During that time he was filming “Coastlines” in 2002 but it came out in 2006 at the Sundance Film Festival. He was also filming “Mr Sterling”. Both away from Los Angeles & at the same time that he & Diane ONLY began dating. He also was raising his children at home. Stop with the Tabloid garbage to trash Josh. WE know he’s made his fair mistakes but so has Diane. YES he has a wandering eye & its disrepectful to her & their kids. First of all, Diane didn’t date for about 10 years prior to her relationship with Josh because of her 1st husband & her ADMITTED TWO BRIEF AFFAIRS WITH MARRIED MEN. She was devasted afterwards & backed-away from men. So what goes around comes around. Diane Lane may look sweet on the outside like many of us girls but like so many she too has her own demons. It’s called Karma people & it happened with both of her husbands cheating on her. Totally agree with you Ava. It takes two to Tango, not just one. The fault is in both sides. Maybe Diane is not the same woman Josh married 5 years ago, maybe she’s changed, maybe he changed. It’s hard to stay married with someone, plus i once read a interview with her telling that she never had a day-in-day-out marriage or relationship, and she’s was trying to learn how to do it. We can’t judge any of them based in news of maganizes. Only Diane and Josh, and their families can tell whats going on. Maybe they just need some time to figure out if they want to save this marriage, if they still love each other. This is normal in any kind of relationship. Everybody makes mistakes and nobody is perfect, remember that.
My opinion is that Diane and Josh are in different stages of their lifes now. Josh is now making money and getting some reconigtion for his work, and Diane just retired from acting and is now totally involved in her charity projects. Based on that, and by the fact she told that she was tired of hollywood and the latest lame roles that she has been given, we can take two conclusions for what is going on her marriage:
1) She’s really mentally, physically and emotionally tired because of her own failures and Josh is paying for that.
2) Or, she’s just tired of his public bad boy behaviour and is stepping away from him.
Weither the way, time is the best remedy to solve their problems. I believe they gonna find a good way to do that, with a divorce or with a true (not false like smiling to paparazzis to show everything is ok)reconciliation.
Take all the Hollywood glamour off, like make-up and beautiful clothes, put one couple with a hudge temper inside a house living with children, dogs, bills to pay and other problems that come from stupid magazines, and let’s talk about a marriage.
A married man tends to look for sex outside the house if he ain’t getting any of his wife, but at the same time, is hard for a woman to feel in the mood to have sex with her husband when he is constantly getting in troubles and embarressing her in front of the media.

I don’t think Josh & Diane have ever been ‘glamour & make-up’ people, it’s not their style. They’re very much everday people. The issue here is they happen to be everyday people caught up in the daily spotlight glare. They are two people going in opposite directions in terms of their personal & professional careers. Josh cheating in the past & present is wrong. But Diane has had her share of romances with other people’s men. Bon Jovi was one of them. She wouldn’t leave him alone even when he was seeing someone at the time. Josh & Diane will decide if their relationship is worth saving or go their seperate ways permanently! The latter might be the best solution here.
There are some good blogs on this page. Really insightful advice, good if Josh Brolin comes over here & check it out. I’ve heard him say he’s a huge fan of blogs & reads them regularly. Josh strikes me as a guy who always has to be In The Know, probably is interested in reading his own press. So here’s hoping he pulls out his Blackberry & finds these pages.
How weird since he hooked up with this Diane Lane, his life has played out like a real bad movie. I don’t hear much about Diane Lane, who is she anyway? I read somewhere that Josh Brolin was first married to his teenage sweetheart & they were together for years, had 2 kids. I know he wasn’t a big star at that time, but we never heard of any rumors of beatings, cheatings & arrests going on? Same with his ex-girlfriend Minnie Driver. I think Minnie Driver is more famous than his wife. I mean maybe some stuff happened but nothing like this was ever in the press. Well maybe because internet blogs weren’t around. Just sayin…I still think Josh Brolin is the sexiest moustache man, YUMMY!

and maybe some al anon for you Diane. one person cannot “make” a marriage work..both people need to take a look at what’s going on. hoping you both find the peace you deserve.
