Everybody hated Ed at GoT? Really? I mean it’s cool if you don’t like the guy, but he was barely part of a single scene. Big freakin’ deal.

    • INeedANap says:

I don’t like Ed Sheeran but weirdly enough him singing in that scene is the only time I’ve liked his singing voice.

    • QueenB says:

I dont like him but I also wouldnt have liked to see anyone else in such a cameo. I dont want to see that in GoT. It fits better to a comedy imho.

    • Louisa says:

Don’t watch GoT and not an Ed Sheeran fan, but LOVED his cameo in Bridget Jones’ Baby. In fact, that movie has been my “go to” since the election because it’s so hysterical.

    • Cee says:

It stood out too much, like “THAT’S ED SHEERAN, WTF”. Took me out of the narrative.

    More Ruffalo and Cheadle, please!

  3. MeleeOfSloths says:

No mention of Martin Landau’s passing?

    RIP sir.

    • seesittellsit says:

+1,000 – an amazing actor who never phoned it in and always left an indelible stamp on his characters.

      • MeleeOfSloths says:

I’m not exactly sad since he was old and enjoyed a long productive life. But I am sad because he is a perfect example of how you don’t have to be a leading man to be a freaking star and I wish more people (audiences and actors both) would remember that. In North By Northwest dude stood out against Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and James Mason (swoon….) – such a jealous, scheming little b1tch! Even weensy little parts (The X Files movie) were made memorable by simply being his.

    • Tiffany says:

      And George Romaro.

    • seesittellsit says:

@Melee – totally agree with all you said. In addition to other films mentioned, he was also terrific as the law professor in “Rounders”, which I think was an underrated film. And +100 on James Mason. My mother on a visit to London in the 1960s passed him once in Hyde Park, walking quietly along in an elegant suit, eyes down. She almost went fully past him by before realizing who he was. I always watch “Odd Man Out” when they run it, although it’s so terribly depressing.

      • third ginger says:

Gosh, I love James Mason. The voice!!

      • Jerusha says:

Check out Pandora and the Flying Dutchman(1951). James Mason and Ava Gardner. His voice, her face. Wonderful. I was seven when I saw it and remember loving it.

Cumberbatch resembles the Grinch in that header pic.

    • Bee says:

I do believe his head is growing longer by the day. Can only assume it’s caused by his expanding ego. Legit question; does anyone actually care about him anymore now that (once awesome) show Sherlock went so (shockingly) bad?

      • Anne says:

Big yes if you’re talking the US. He was trending during D23 and got a standing ovation. But I am also cheating–I can see this type of market research for work. He’s clearly more established now, more well known and with a high positivity score to boot. Sherlock’s a cult show in the US, so it wasn’t doing much for him beyond “web fame,” which translates to nothing in reality.

I will say he did a great job in the D23 interviews. Lainey’s right, he was professional and gracious.

Kinda unrelated, I do wonder how much longer Tom Holland is going to find Stan and Mackie amusing. I get it’s a joke, but it’s going to get grating.

  5. milla says:

    R. Kelly…oh my. I liked his music and this makes me sick.

    • GiBee says:

He filmed himself urinating on underage girls. This has been public knowledge for a long time. He’s scum.

  6. Gina says:

Olivia Palermo and Joely Richardson at Wimbledon… Swoon.

“Everybody hated Ed Sheeran on Game of Thrones.”. Why?

He was on the show for 5 minutes tops and he did just fine. He has a great voice too. People are so overly critical for no reason at all these days. Smdh
