Mariah Carey has always been famous for her curvy figure. She’s also taken some heat for it at times – sometimes she looks fairly trim, while at others some websites have pointed out that she’s barely straddling the line between heavy and curvy. The most amazing thing is the way she’ll appear to gain or lose twenty pounds overnight – her figure-hugging clothing can really confuse the eyes.
One of Mariah’s friends admits her weight bounces around, and says Carey loves to eat, especially when she’s enjoying herself. But it sounds like Mariah has a pretty relaxed and fairly healthy attitude about her weight, everything considered. Plus it keeps her name in the press for the whole “Is she/isn’t she pregnant” thing.
UNLIKE some starving show-business stars, Mariah Carey (above) celebrates her success with much-deserved meals. “Mariah loves food. Right now she’s making an album and eating everything and anything she wants. She has put on about 15 pounds, but she loves the curves,” said our source. Our tipster adds, “She’ll definitely tone up again when she releases her album, but as of now, she’s stuffing her face.”

I’m sure some health nuts will argue that 15 lbs is too much to bounce back and forth between, but frankly if you’re a bouncer (and some people just are), it’s not that bad. Janet Jackson bounces up and down by at least 60 pounds. She’ll just disappear and you’ll see a few shocking fat grocery store photos of her, then after a year she’ll be back with 8 pack abs or something. It’s insane. Mariah’s fluctuations seem fairly normal to me, and she never lets it get out of hand. Personally I think she looks good curvy, and it’s nice to see women who are comfortable with their bodies whatever their shape or age. I’d like it if she’d tone down the skin-hugging mini dresses, but that’s not an age or shape issue, but one of style. She’s been rocking that look since 1992 – might be time to mix it up a bit.

Correction: Mariah has been rocking the curve hugging mini dress look since 97 when she was separated from Tommy Mattola. Before that he had her wrapped up in flannel shirts and cut off jean shorts.

Why is it that when a woman has large breasts it’s called porn star and automatically asumed to be fake? I have EXTREMELY large breasts that are NATURAL!!! I started growing them when i was 10. Depending on my weight at the time they can be anywhere between a 34 DD to a 36 JJJ. This is only a 30 pound weight difference. I gain the majority of my weight in my chest. Yes I’m a yoyo. No I do not enjoy it. Seems to me those that are so down on people with large breasts have breast envy. I think Mariah is beautiful curvy. Unfortunately she knows it too well and her narcissistant personality makes her ugly.

Because hers ARE fake and they do make her look like a porn star. Look at older pics of her and then at pics of her now. She has very obvious implants and they look terrible on her. They are way out of proportion to her body size and don’t fit her at all.
No breast envy here. My 2 best friends are both very busty, as well as my sister in law. Between the nasty comments from men who think it’s perfectly okay behave like jerks just because a woman has large breasts, to the back pain, to the sagging, to having to buy more expensive specialty bras, to never being able to find clothes that fit properly…no, you are mistaken that I envy women with large breasts. I am very happy with my C cups and wouldn’t trade them for anythign bigger. Bigger is not always better.

and if you get fake ones put in that are THAT big, people will call them porn star boobs because it’s mostly porn stars (and other attention-seeking women) who get implants that are that large. To add, it’s partially the big boobs that make her look heavy.
regarding her weight gain, I don’t think a 15 pound up-and-down fluctuation is that major. That’s what MOST women deal with throughout their lives.
Alecto: I don’t think barnes and kate were implying that all women with big boobs look like porn stars. Just the ones with obviously-fake, bizarre-looking tits like Mariah. Sorry, but there’s no way those things are real. And I’m a D-cup, so I’m not saying this out of jealousy.
I think she’s curvy enough to pull off the big boobs. Unlike Tori Spelling and Jordan Sparks to name a couple who look ridiculas.
She was on Oprah after she had lost about 30 pounds. She had a chef and told Oprah she learned that she had to give up certain foods but it was worth it. She bragged about the wonderful meals her chef was preparing and her workout.
Guess all that has gone by the wayside.

To me, it has never really been about her weight. It’s about her unflattering outfits that make her look heavier than she really is. That dress up there is the best thing I’ve seen her in. Most of the time it’s painted on pants with stripper heels. Oh and a baby doll t-shirt with Hello Kitty on it that shows her belly.
It would be the most wonderful thing if What To Wear got ahold of her. But I have a feeling she wouldn’t have it.
Alecto-I am slightly jealous of the fact that you gain weight in your chest considering when I gain weight NONE of it goes there! lol. I would be happy with barely a C cup. But generally I’ve found that the bigger breasts you have the fatter you look.
As for having breasts as large as Mariah Carey, I don’t know for sure but I don’t think she has been growing them since she was ten. Does anyone know if that woman from Mad Men has fake breasts or not? She has HUGE ones and I think they look lovely on her. She has a classy vibe to her that Mariah doesn’t have. Hence the porn star boobs.
Mariah is cool. She’s like a little girl playing dress-up. She can truly sing, unlike so many of our pop stars, and I’m glad she’s in a good place right now, with an adoring husband by her side.

Her boobs are fake, I researched it. I think that’s why she looks fat. There is nothing wrong with being fat but, in the celebrity business you are expected to be less fat. I hadn’t noticed till recently she looked heavier. She has never been thin but, she looked better before. If she got rid of the fake boobs maybe she would look thinner. Not skinny but thinner.
