Shia LaBeouf is rather famous for being a bit dysfunctional. He seems like a sweet enough kid, but I think his parents might have done a number on him. In an interview with the June issue of Playboy, Shia told the magazine that his mother is “the sexiest woman I know… She’s an ethereal angel. Nobody looks like that woman. If I could meet my mother and marry her, I would. I would be with my mother now, if she weren’t my mother, as sick as that sounds.” Shia grew up around his mother’s naked goddess circles, and also claimed that Mom (and her goddess circle friends) never even put on her clothes when he had friends over.
Now we’ve got more evidence that Shia’s mom did some long-lasting damage. Shia gave an interview to Parade (excerpts from Huffington Post) where he apparently said that his sense of humor comes from “ seeing my parents have sex, smoke weed, my mom being naked.” Yikes. I’m all for being natural and open with your children - but when your kids have vivid memories of their parents having sex, perhaps it’s time to stop hitting the bong.
Shia LaBeouf, 23, is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Parade magazine. Inside Dotson Rader describes theTransformers actor as “foul-mouthed, resentful, funny, prickly, quick-witted, and charming — a package of contradictions.”
LaBeouf says the source of his humor is from “seeing my parents have sex, smoke weed, my mom being naked … [and] twisted R-rated humor.”
“The good actors are all screwed up. They’re all in pain. It’s a profession of bottom-feeders and heartbroken people.”
LaBeouf also says, describing what caused his split with China Brezner, whom he dated for three years.
“Maybe it was career pressure. … Maybe I chose work. Every man has those feelings of escape and survival. I know you shouldn’t be that way. I’m trying to understand it and find the answers. I don’t have them now. Why did the love of my life and I break up? … Man, I have no idea. What was that all about? I have no answers to anything. None. Why am I an alcoholic? I haven’t a damn clue! What is life about? I don’t know.”

The question that always has to be asked about Shia in particular is “How much of this is his normal bullsh-t?” Shia gives a great interview, but I sometimes wonder about the stories of his childhood. When he was on the cover of Vanity Fair, back in 2007, he quite famously told many stories about his hard-knock life, many of which he later claimed to have exaggerated. Shia’s just the kind of guy who will never let the truth get in the way of a good story. And yet, I kind of believe this story that his humor comes from seeing his parents have sex. Something messed that boy up, that’s for sure.

Theres something wrong with everyone, and nobody knows those answers (at least not without searching) but hes doing the right thing by asking. Few people want to admit, that theyre all confused and lost, while they still are. They usually completely deny it and are unaware, or resolve it unconsciously and then one day realize while lookig back….
But he knows it now. Thats great.
My point kinda is, searching isnt necessarily an indicator of being more screwed up, its a sign hes intelligent and introspective enough to KNOW and to care to work at it, moreso than others. *ehem Lohan*Even when hes able to kid about it.

Am I the only one who thinks a lot of what he says is tongue in cheek? Eh, if he was really in love with his mum, he wouldn’t put it out there like that. I agree with teehee that he seems very self-aware. Me, I like him and think he’s a character but then I have a thing for people who are a little bit off the wall. Not Megan though, in my opinion she’s trying wayyyy too hard to be edgy and doesn’t have half of Shia’s charm or talent.
