Miss CA director: Carrie Prejean skipped too many appearances to name

Donald Trump and the Miss California organization has made it abundantly clear that Carrie Prejean was fired not because of her infamous response to the gay marriage question but because she failed to uphold the terms of her contract. Though Trump originally let Prejean stay on as Miss California (shocking many), he admitted that she’d duped him. According to Trump, Prejean was sweet as candy to him while being a complete bitch to everyone else.

Pageant director Keith Lewis told CBS’s ‘The Early Show’ that Prejean skipped out on “tens and tens and tens” of appearances, and said it was so many he couldn’t even begin to name them all.

[CBS anchor Julie] CHEN: Keith, let me begin with you. What appearances did she skip out on, and how many appearances did she skip out on?

LEWIS: More than I could name off the top of my head, tens and tens and tens. So, she was unavailable. She didn’t want to make them. She didn’t want to make any appearances in Hollywood. She was just really difficult to work with.

CHEN: What was her excuse? What would she say?

LEWIS: Well, different things at different times, from I’ve got other commitments to I’m not just Miss Hollywood. I need to be other things and making other things in the state.

I think the important thing is the fact that we came to a meeting of the minds in New York. We said we were putting it behind us. We were moving forward. We were going to get back on track. And that was really far from what happened.

CHEN: In your history of working with the Miss California organization, is that not typical behavior for a Miss California to miss as many appearances as you say she missed?

LEWIS: Yes. It was a combatative relationship. It was just very difficult for us. We tried to meet halfway, and it was obvious that wasn’t going to happen. And finally, there was a point where the organization really had to stand up and say, you know what, it’s time for us to move on and get back to the business of beauty.

And Mr. Trump agreed with us. He’s the one that came forward and said, go ahead and give her her walking papers.

Lewis also said that they’ve only spoken through their attorneys, and noted that Prejean’s lawyer is also the attorney for the National Organization for Marriage. He said he didn’t think Carrie will fight their decision because while it seemed like she wanted fame, she didn’t actually want the job and the responsibilities that come with it. Really, how often do you hear about the Miss [Name Your State Here] after the pageant? Unless they do something shocking, never. Carrie’s got her bit of attention, and she’s worked it for a lot more fame than she ever would have if she’d followed the rules of her contract.

Prejean has said she was offered a Playboy shoot which she declined, and believes that’s part of why she was fired. She was also offered a spot on “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here,” which she also passed on. It was $70,000 for one episode of $140,000 if she stayed for three – along with money to a charity. And while there’s generally no way you could get me to watch reality TV, I’d break into someone’s house if it were the only way I could watch Carrie Prejean and Heidi Montag in the same room.

Oh man, if she had been on with Heidi it would’ve been Jesus MANIA.

The episodes with Speidi were insane! It was “Let’s say a prayer” every fucking minute. And then it was all “HALLELUJAH!” and “PRAISE JESUS!” at every possible random moment.

Funny…they’re so religious yet I seem to recall Heidi doing the whole pregnancy scare bit on Spencer on the first season….premarital rampant sex…so Christian like. God would LOVE that. PRAISE JESUS!

Just because someone is religious (Christian, Buddist, Jewish etc…)doesn’t mean they are excluded from dealing with everyday issues that people struggle with.

Having said that, SPEIDI still sucks!

I love the gloating look on Tami Farrell. She’s much hotter than Carrie and seems a bit less brain dead.

SO glad to see how few comments there are here. PS Celebitchy, I love ya guys but choosing videos that start automatically playing is a little cumbersome!

Wow, I don’t agree with Carrie Prejean’s political views AT ALL, but they are selling her down the river!

I thought that they’d maintain a professional silence, and just issue a brief press statement or something, but this guy is just telling her business everywhere.

Carrie Prejean is going to be huge (on Fox News) because of this, there’s another pageant show on TV(“miss California is being televised for the first time!”), Shanna will get to continue to work, Tami Farrell gets a title, and those lame asses NOM are in the press again… *sarcastically* everyone wins!

Did anyone else read the emails between Carrie and Keith on FOX news? I think the way she was vilified after the pageant was wrong, but she has turned about to be one extremely rude, selfish person. Another one of her former agents even came out saying how difficult she is to get along with, and that’s why the let her go. I do not feel sorry for her about being dethroned, she needs to get over herself.
