Brooke sure has the money to have around the clock assistance and if her mother is able to walk and talk and eat and run errands, why on earth did she sent her to a "old home". I guess it's cheaper and easier. Maybe she doesn’t have dementia and it’s easier to be seen as a “good” daughter if you send your parent away, instead of having a caregiver to assist her while she still lives at home.

I guess it’s cheaper and easier.

They are there because they need be. While the reporter's actions are terrible, I myself am more outraged at the nursing home staff. My grandma is in a nursing home for dementia and she is not allowed to be taken from the nursing home by anyone not on a list approved by my dad who has power of attorney. Anyone can come visit, but not just anyone, even if my grandma claims to know them well, can come and get her. The nursing home should be sued and investigated. Who knows how many of the residents are being allowed to leave with random strangers who may or may not have harmful intentions for them? Shame on the nursing home staff!
