Donald Trump’s daily tantrums: ‘I hate everyone in the White House!’

Embed from Getty Images

I haven’t covered many political stories this week, but don’t take that to mean that Donald Trump has been quiet. If anything, I feel like the more I ignore him, the crazier he gets, and he was already batsh-t insane to begin with. I honestly feel like Donald Trump is jealous of all the attention Harvey Weinstein is getting this week. Trump is literally miserable because someone else is getting all of the “rapist/pervert” headlines. It was supposed to be All About Trump! This was the one-year anniversary of the release of the Access Hollywood tape. Instead, Weinstein is dominating headlines. What is poor Misery Guts Trump supposed to do? Whine. Endlessly whine about how much he hates everybody and everything. Vanity Fair has a not-shocking exclusive about Trump being unhinged and miserable and it actually brightened my day considerably. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

Bob Corker’s “adult day care” slam really hit home: It brought into the open what several people close to the president have recently told me in private: that Trump is “unstable,” “losing a step,” and “unraveling.” The conversation among some of the president’s longtime confidantes, along with the character of some of the leaks emerging from the White House has shifted. There’s a new level of concern. NBC News published a report that Trump shocked his national security team when he called for a nearly tenfold increase in the country’s nuclear arsenal during a briefing this summer. One Trump adviser confirmed to me it was after this meeting disbanded that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a “moron.”

A lunatic in crisis: Prominent Republicans “all describe a White House in crisis as advisers struggle to contain a president who seems to be increasingly unfocused and consumed by dark moods. Trump’s ire is being fueled by his stalled legislative agenda and, to a surprising degree, by his decision last month to back the losing candidate Luther Strange in the Alabama Republican primary.” “Alabama was a huge blow to his psyche,” a person close to Trump said. “He saw the cult of personality was broken.”

Baby Fists hates the world: According to two sources familiar with the conversation, Trump vented to his longtime security chief, Keith Schiller, “I hate everyone in the White House! There are a few exceptions, but I hate them!” (A White House official denies this.) Two senior Republican officials said Chief of Staff John Kelly is miserable in his job and is remaining out of a sense of duty to keep Trump from making some sort of disastrous decision.

War-gaming nuclear war: One former official even speculated that Kelly and Secretary of Defense James Mattis have discussed what they would do in the event Trump ordered a nuclear first strike. “Would they tackle him?” the person said.

Kelly is sequestering Trump: While Kelly can’t control Trump’s tweets, he is doing his best to physically sequester the president—much to Trump’s frustration. One major G.O.P. donor told me access to Trump has been cut off, and his outside calls to the White House switchboard aren’t put through to the Oval Office. Earlier this week, I reported on Kelly’s plans to prevent Trump from mingling with guests at Mar-a-Lago later this month. And, according to two sources, Keith Schiller quit last month after Kelly told Schiller he needed permission to speak to the president and wanted written reports of their conversations.

[From Vanity Fair]

I sound like a broken record, but Jesus Christ how are we not rioting in the streets? This is not normal. None of this has ever been normal. Where the f–k is Paul Ryan? Where is Mitch McConnell? They’ve sold their souls for tax cuts for the rich. They’ve sold the American people away to a baby-fisted lunatic who has to be “sequestered” so he won’t listen to war-mongering Nazis.

Additionally, in case anyone cares – if and when Trump does visit England, he won’t be meeting with the Queen. His trip has been “downgraded” and I strongly suspect that Queen Elizabeth II said something along the lines of “f–k him and the Nazi horse he rode in on.”

Yes, and to get attention back, or perhaps people told him do it while HW is the headline everywhere, today he is supposedly signing an executive order overturning key parts of the Affordable Care Act.

    • denisemich says:

Honestly the HW debacle was a relief.

I am so sick of #notmypresident. I just want him charged with obstruction of justice. Then I want someone to document what we the people need to do to get him to quit. Cause he is never ever ever going to be impeached by that congress.

Besides ACA, how is puerto rico, how are we removing his nuclear codes, how the fuck is EPA rolling back parts of the greenhouse act…etc.

  2. Beth says:

We hate having the crybaby in the White House. If he hates everyone there, why the fuck won’t he just leave?

  3. Shambles says:

    Then leave, bitch.

But seriously, this is not normal. We should all be leaning out our doorways every morning and yelling “THIS IS F*CKING CRAZY,” just so no one gets complacent. Impeach. Impeach. Impeach.

    • Megan says:

I just got back from shouting. We are actually having a conversation about what military officials would do if the president ordered a nuclear attack. This is so crazy they need to invent a new word for it.

      • Mo says:

Lol, they invented a new word for this insane clusterfuck of an administration in the 1940’s…called “Fascism”.

    • Kitten says:

Do you listen to The Daily podcast?

The episode this morning was an interview with Nicolas Kristof an NYT columnist who has had unprecedented access to North Korea. This is the third podcast I’ve listened to within the past week that discusses the NK conflict and while they are all terrifying, this one might be the worst.

It is just unfathomable to think that we could see a nuclear war in our lifetime. It all seems so surreal and while I’m not the type to live every day worrying about the potential for all of us to get turned to dust, I still can’t help but worry.

Every f*cking person who voted for this shitburger has blood on their hands. “But her emails–” F*CK OFF already.

      • Shambles says:

I love love love The Daily. It’s on my “I need to hear people talk about this sh!t so I don’t drown in existential dread” podcast list, along with Pod Save, Lovett or Leave It, & Rachel Maddow. I haven’t listened to this morning’s episode yet, because I usually do podcasts while I drive and I don’t have to be in the car until this evening. But now, with your recap, I don’t know if I should… it might not help too much with the whole existential dread thing.

Scary f*cking times, man. I truly wish we could go back to 400 comments about Benedict Cumberbatch and making jokes about Cheez Its, fake babies, and beige booty shorts. But now, it’s like a new layer of hell every day. The hurricanes, the wildfires, the shootings, the nukes, the rapists, the racism… it’s hard to be a human these days. *Hugs*

      • Kitten says:

If you’re feeling anxiety about a potential war with NK then yeah, you should probably avoid it, Shamby.

“But now, it’s like a new layer of hell every day. The hurricanes, the wildfires, the shootings, the nukes, the rapists, the racism…”

It really is just too much to take. I usually have a personal rule of not drinking during the week but ever since 45 won the presidency, that rule has been tabled. It’s just so frightening right now and there’s too much terrible happening. If I’m going to end up as dust, I’m going down in style with some good f*cking beer in my belly.

      • Shambles says:

I’ll probably avoid it, then. Give me Jon, Jon, Tommy, and Dan.

Good beer and good weed. Cheers to you, friend.

      • Honeybee Blues says:

Thanks, Kitten. It’s nice to know relaxing my “Beer Friday” rule is normal. I killed an entire bottle of merlot last night. Which is really too bad, as now, reading this, I’m thinking wine for breakfast would have been fitting.

      • Me46 says:

I’m resigned to the fact that there will be a Nuclear War. If we make it to Thanksgiving/Christmas,I’ll be shocked.

      • Lightpurple says:

@Shambles, I am building a “shelter” in my basement which I am stocking with Cheeze-its, Comet Sophie ingredients and bacon. There are several American girl dolls down there, including a baby one, so we have a fake baby covered. I’ll paper the walls with a beige booty short picture for your entertainment. Now, I must go tie up the VP’s fax machine with copies of the 25th Amendment

      • Shambles says:

        LP, I’m moved to tears.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Kitten, you are such a good source for podcasts! I’ll add The Daily to my list.

      • Jayna says:

I know, Kitten. It terrifies me, and the Deplorables are standing up for him, posting finally a president is doing something, or, he knows what he’s doing.. They are idiots. No, President Moron does not know what he’s doing. He’s a reactive man-baby acting like he’s playing war. He’s a nutcase.

      • magnoliarose says:

Now I understand why my grandmother firmly believes in her early evening “highballs” aka martinis. 2 every single day. I went over to visit and I joined her and I will be damned if it didn’t take the freaking edge off. Martini Wednesdays, 5 o’clock EST.
IPA Fridays sound good. Maybe Merlot Mondays and Old school Mixed Drinks Saturday. I suggest Vodka Gimlets, G and Ts, Old Fashioneds…Toke it Tuesdays for the weed crowd.

I have resigned myself that the end of the world is neigh. I cling to hope but I equally know I can’t change anything.

      • Heidi says:

I used to be a pacifist, now I include the Pentagon staff in my evening prayers to the universe. Maybe I am naive, but I am deeply convinced that the military guys at the White House would make sure that Trumps orders concerning a strike on North Korea (conventional or nukes) would not be carried out. No tackling necessary.

The frightening thing is – Trump probably thinks there would be a normal Christmas after a first strike. And he is obviously unable to understand that the U.S. already has more nukes than it will ever need.

General Kelly, please find him a distraction. How about a puzzle with the face of his “Russian Idol” Putin that comes in 5,000 parts? That should keep him busy for a while. Or a high-end prostitute who pretends that she is the First Lady and wants to hold hands.

    • marjiscott says:

Can’t impeach. At least for the present. The House of Representatives have to hold a vote that passes, then the Senate will have to hold hearings to go forward. Takes a while to do this. Don’t see that happening by those fools, do you? Hopefully, I am reading that Article 25 is a whispered possibility by the Senior White House staff.

    • someone says:

Read the article in the Oct. 5th Rolling Stone magazine – it does a great job of explaining what it takes to get impeachment or the 25th amendment invoked.

      http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/features/taibbi-madness-of-donald-trump-removal-25th-amendment-w504149

    • Giddy says:

Shambles, I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday and I asked her for Xanax. I’m getting it filled today because I’m at the point where wine and weed just aren’t enough.

      • Shambles says:

        *big hugs*

      • Mltpsych says:

Agree. Upping my klonopin dose, can’t deal with much more

      • Lorelai says:

I was just about to reply to the above comments about cocktails that I’m more of a Xanax girl, myself — but there isn’t enough Xanax in the world when the reason for taking it is the possibility of Donald f*cking Trump STARTING NUCLEAR WAR.

    • Tiffany :) says:

“what they would do in the event Trump ordered a nuclear first strike. “Would they tackle him?”

You don’t think that is normal?

      • magnoliarose says:

Nowadays it is so normal I actually thought to myself, without missing a step mind you, I wonder if they should body slam him or pistol whip him to make sure he stays down. I wasn’t even horrified and that in itself is horrifying.

      • Tara says:

That made me laugh out loud. We live in a terrifyingly accurate Onion article.

Still pondering whether I want to rewatch Dr Strangelove tonight.

    • still_sarah says:

@ Shambles. “Then leave bitch”. Best answer. I need look no further down the comments 🙂

Years ago, I worked at the post office. There were some (OK, many) complainers there who would go on how it was so horrible there. I would always think “You’re not a slave, okay. If you don’t like it, just quit”.

So, yeah, just leave, bitch. Like you said.

  4. Rapunzel says:

He’s threatening to let Puerto Ricans die this morning And victim blaming them.

    • Nic919 says:

This is horrible. What president has ever attacked victims of a natural disaster like this ever? He is so deranged.

    • Alix says:

I admire their restraint in not tackling him en masse with torches and pitchforks when he came to toss paper towels straight from heaven. Puerto Ricans must be incandescent with rage; I hope they’re plotting some ingenious revenge, a la the Count of Monte Cristo.

    • lightpurple says:

And he still has made no mention of the four Marines killed in Niger or the California wild fires.

      • ArchieGoodwin says:

PM Trudeau tweeted about the wildfires, that he spoke with trump about it. I can only imagine trump’s response : what wildfires? did they kneel?! they deserve it.

      • swak says:

Was wondering if I had missed him commenting on the wild fires. But guess I hadn’t. Also have read that Congress is waiting until the tax reform passes to do something about him (got to get their tax breaks first!).

      • Megan says:

Green berets are the bravest of the brave, they go into situations no one should ever be asked to go into. And yet Trump can’t spare a single tweet to recognize their sacrifice?

As for the wildfires in California, the planet is pissed we didn’t get the message with four major hurricanes, so now it is taking away our the only thing getting us through this nightmare … wine.

      • BJ says:

He doesn’t have time to Tweet about that.He has to focus on NFL or “fake news”.#moron

      • Angela82 says:

        But Benghazi!

    • Mermaid says:

      @rapunzel
It’s awful. It’s like America has gone rogue. I feel so badly for the people of Puerto Rico. We hate you too Dotard.

      • Carmen says:

I have friends and in-laws on the island. They say it’s like living in a post-nuclear apocalypse. Trump doesn’t give a sh*t. Why should he? They’re brown and speak Spanish.

      • magnoliarose says:

I am so sorry Carmen. It is so horrific. Geez I hate that lunatic.

    • jwoolman says:

I just read his crazy tweet. He’s threatening to pull out FEMA, first responders etc. from a place filled with people without electrical power and without sufficient food and water, watching family members die as a result. Their crops are gone. Grocery store shelves are empty. Morgues are full. He only visited a minimally damaged, financially comfortable community and thinks that’s how it is all over. He didn’t even know why flashlights were among the supplies to be handed out, he thought they didn’t need them any more.

Trump really is an f’ing moron.

And he is still bleeting about their debt, as though creditors will be able to get anything out of people left in this condition. The bankruptcy king himself, in hock to Chinese, German, and Russian banks since no US bank will loan him money anymore, the guy who wants to drive the US debt up to record levels, fulminating about Puerto Rico’s debt. What a world.

      • Kitten says:

I just looked and I just cannot, I CANNOT with this terrible f*cking person anymore.

I avoided his Twitter for the past two weeks because I just can’t take the anxiety and the overwhelming rage that his tweets provoke in me.

He is subhuman, a f*cking straight-up monster. My heart is with the Puerto Rican people and I feel so ashamed that they have to endure this insult to injury.

      • Giddy says:

He even complained that he didn’t get proper credit for the “beautiful soft towels” he lobbed at the Puerto Ricans. Bigly’s ego didn’t get stroked, so he’ll let Americans die.

      • Tiffany :) says:

        He’s such a f*cking heartless idiot.

    • holly hobby says:

Yep not a word about the Nor Cal fires. I guess he doesn’t care since CA is a blue state.

  5. Alix says:

Was he ever “raveled” to begin with?

I suppose it’s good to know that WH staffers are trying to control him and mitigate the damage he can do, but this situation is untenable. He’s a danger to the country and the world. When his orange head finally explodes in a toddler rage, I hope it’s televised.

Good on HM for not meeting with him; she knows scum when she sees it.

    • Esmom says:

Yes, at least someone recognizes that Trump should not be offered the same treatment as real leaders. I agree that this situation is untenable and cannot possibly be sustained. Gah.

    • Megan says:

HM, May and anyone in the White House with two brain cells knows the protests outside of Buckingham Palace would be a PR disaster. If Trump goes to London I’m sure his visit will be tacked onto the end of a vacation at his golf club in Scotland.

    • ORIGINAL T.C. says:

Trump is a blantant Neo-Nazi sympathizer, maybe our UK peeps can correct me but I’m guessing the Prime Minister is required to meet with Trump for regular government business but HM inviting him to the palace is not a requirement??? A personal invite made towards a Neo-Nazi sympathizer to the palace would leave a lifelong smear on the house of Windsor. It might bring up articles of initial sympathy with Hitler by some members of the family prior to WWII. Can you say PR nightmare? Personally I think HM loved the Obamas and their class act, Trump is the complete opposite and a bottom basement representative of humanity let alone US leaders.

      • Annetommy says:

I agree with you wholeheartedly re the atrocity that is trump, but the Queen has hosted dinners in the past for some pretty shitty leaders, I doubt she had much to do with this decision.

  6. Giulia says:

I think Trump has put the U.S. exactly where Ryan and McConnell want it to be. The more chaos and disarray we fall into, the more opportunity some people have to enact their agenda without attracting much notice.

    • Elkie says:

The thing is, Trump hates Ryan & McConnell, as do the deplorables, because R&M have generally been quite resistant to a lot of the balls-to-the-wall ultra-racist and theocratic nutjobbery of the even further right factions of the GOP and the Trump base. They might be spineless weasels beholden to Wall Street & the NRA, but at least they understand that legal migration is necessary for the future economy and that The Wall is a moronic idea.

If anything Trump has actually hindered their agenda with his toddler tantrums. If Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio or John Kasich were president there would probably be no ACA and three tax brackets right about now.

      • H says:

You know it’s bad when you think think crazy Ted Cruz or lazy Mario Rubio would make a better President.

      • Tara says:

Problem is the Trump residency has shifted the bottom drastically. After him, almost anyone and anything will seem reasonable.

    • Kitten says:

Ryan won’t be there for much longer. You can’t avoid town halls and not have that blow up in your face. Meanwhile, Randy Bryce is on the ground, shaking hands and doing town hall after town hall.

    • Triple Cardinal says:

Talk about enacting an agenda without attracting much notice…

Trump is quietly stacking lower court judicial positions with right wing radicals who are anti-choice, anti-consumer and anti-LGBTQ.

The Dakota Access pipeline is in full operation.

Sorry, I’ve forgotten just now what other outrages Trump has been successful at, but my point is that he’s flying under the radar in changing important aspects of our lives. He’s failing at legislation, but he’s been fairly successful at making changes that the MSM are not covering.

      • Frosty says:

Exactly, Triple Cardinal. Not to mention the gutting that’s in process of EPA and food safety regulations…

  7. Nic919 says:

Trudeau’s face is totally saying “get me out of here”.

    • Alix says:

Happy to oblige, Two Scoops. Bend over and I’ll kick your sorry ass straight to the bowels of hell.

    • lightpurple says:

Those faces. Either an annoyed Melania just said something Orange Voldy didn’t like or one of them just farted.

    • RBC says:

Melania’s face is saying: “ Damm, Sophie lucked out with Justin. Where did I go wrong? Oops! my poker face is fading. Quick! Think of the money, think of the money…..”

    • swak says:

But Princess Nagini got to sit next to him! Bet she was happier than all get out.

      • Carmen says:

“Princess Nagini”? God damn, and all this time I was trying to think who she reminded me of…. you just won the Internet. 😂😂😂

      • swak says:

@Carmen, I have to give full credit to LightPurple as she gave Ivanka that name and uses it constantly when talking about Ivanka. I just used it because it fits.

    • AnnaKist says:

And look at trumpaloon. He’s there, but not. He’s a dead-set cretin, who’s off with the pixies.

This all reminds me of a song from my favourite band:
“There’s a loser in the House and a puppet on a stool.
There’s a crowded way of life and a black reflecting pool.
And as the people bend, the moral fabric dies.
And country can’t pretend to ignore its people’s cries…”

  8. happyoften says:

    Finally! Something we agree on.

Adding… the image of kelly tackling the president… truly sublime. The fact that it is being discussed… truly terrifying.

  9. AnnaKist says:

Oh, shite, is he still around? Tsk.

  10. Surely Wolfbeak says:

Occupy. Occupy the National Mall. Occupy America. This is terrifying.

  11. lightpurple says:

If only we had a Constitution that had provisions to deal with such a crisis in leadership. Something with language like:

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. The Constitution, Article I, Section 3: The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.

    Or something like:

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Oh wait, we have both those provisions. Where the f**k is Paul Ryan?

    • Shambles says:

      You are my hero.

    • Lulu says:

Speaking of the constitution, did you see the quote in Vanity Fair where Steve Bannon referenced the 25th Amendment, to which Trump’s response was literally “What’s that?”

He swore an oath to uphold the constitution and he doesn’t even know what’s in it. He did the political equivalent of scrolling down Apple’s terms and conditions to just click accept – and he did this for the most powerful office on earth.

      • Esmom says:

Yeah, I was at parent teacher conferences the other night and was flipping through my son’s 12th grade government textbook while I waited. My first thought was “Trump should probably read this, should have read this a long time ago,” and my second thought was “how f&cking extensive are their rewrites going to be for the next edition?”

      • Triple Cardinal says:

        Lulu, you don’t get it.

The only way to understand the Constitution is to sit down and READ IT.

Trump doesn’t read. Unless it’s the Collected Speeches Of Adolf Hitler, he doesn’t read.

      • Erica_V says:

I am still not convinced he can read.

      • swak says:

@Lu Lu and Triple Cardinal, it must be confined to one page and must be in the form of bullet points.

      • Heidi says:

Lulu, this comparison is genius! *frantic applause*

Unfortunately, it is inaccurate. We all know – whatever is in Apple’s terms and conditions – we have to accept it. Trump doesn’t care what is in the constitution because it doesn’t apply to him anyway. #sociopath

      • jwoolman says:

Swak – and you need to insert his name frequently because that’s the only thing that will keep him reading.

    • Rapunzel says:

We aren’t being governed by the constitution anymore, LP. If we were, Bigly wouldn’t be tweet-whining about revoking NBC’s “license.”

    • Esmom says:

      *sobs*

    • Tiffany :) says:

Come on Mueller. Force Congress to use these options!

    • Alexandria says:

      #WhereTheF**kIsPaulRyan

IMHO, public criticism on Dotard does not work, he doesn’t care. I firmly believe he has a personality disorder that would immediately fail any vetting for sensitive military or intelligence positions. However, somehow, the Electoral College, tolerates insane Presidents for the top job.

There should be more and very pointed criticism and questions towards Paul Ryan, until he cannot hide. Dotard’s antics are shielding Paul Ryan. I say step away from giving Dotard attention and aim for Paul Ryan.

  12. hey-ya says:

…I cant wait for the post term college speaking tour…if he lives long enough…& the books…absolutely cant wait…

    • Kitten says:

No college or university would invite this trashbag to speak on their campus.

Additionally, the old man can barely form a cohesive sentence now, there’s no way he will be fully-functioning in four years. Likely, he’ll be in a home.

      • Angela82 says:

@Kitten: Yes sadly Trump University was proven to be a scam and no longer exists. 😉

      • Heidi says:

Of course he will be in a home soon enough. That’s the only way to avoid jail. That is the American justice system for you – sane enough for nukes, but too insane to stand trial.

    • H says:

None of the current former presidents will have anything to do with Trump in the future. If we live that long, I imagine the Bushes, Carter, Clinton and Obama having a party and not inviting the Orange Turd. Can you see the Tweets? Please let it come sooner rather than later.

      • Andrea says:

He will stroke it out before then. No one in poor physical shape, who eats bad food, gets lack of sleep, and is angry 24/7 lives to 90.

  13. Indiana Joanna says:

Also prominent psychiatrists have spoken out in the past few weeks that given drump’s obvious mental instability there psychological assessments should be done on all presidential candidates.

I think Mueller is now closing in on drump and his criminal family.

As to your question why aren’t we rioting in the streets, I don’t know. Because drump promises every day to get us into a nuclear war, is destroying the ACA, depriving people their first amendments rights, promoting Putin and white supremacists, threatening to blackmail people if they don’t do what he dictates, tearing up Iran anti-nuclear agreement and grandstanding about how great he is at deal making regarding NAFTA. He’s monstrously insane.

    • swak says:

Being reported by Politico that Trump’s lawyers may offer Mueller a meeting with Trump. Can you imagine the major cluster f@ck this could be if no one is in that meeting with Trump to keep him under control? Trump may not be able to contain himself.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Are the drump lawyers hoping to “work” with Mueller so that he goes easy on drump? I can see drump by turns appeasing, threatening, bragging. He’s deeply disturbed.

  14. Wren33 says:

I don’t know if Kelly is being helpful or harmful. From what I have read, Trump really needs to vent to his toadies and pals, and this attempt to keep him focused and disciplined is actually making him crazier. At some point, the dark conspiracy in his mind is going to turn into a self-fulfilled prophecy, if it hasn’t already.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. I tend to think Trump has gotten worse since Kelly’s been restraining him more. It’s extremely distressing. But maybe Trump will crack up enough to resign. Ha.

    • Christin says:

Yet he apparently can make late night outbound calls to people. One of his longtime friends went on record this week to express concern about his recent behavior. That is very telling.

    • Lady D says:

Trump is just not used to hearing no. Years and years of watching people jump to fulfill his orders has left him expecting it will always be that way. He must be in a constant low-level rage at the amount of times he has been thwarted since gaining office. I’m surprised he doesn’t hate the whole world at the moment

  15. Nicole says:

And Reich posted about how several GOP members want to start impeachment….
…after they pass tax cuts for the rich so it looks like they did something.
So if you need more of a reason to hate people this morning there you go

    • Lightpurple says:

They don’t need him for their damn tax cuts. Pence would gladly sign that. They could invoke 25th Amendment and have Trump out of there in days with any challenge handled within two weeks with no power to do anything while he is challenging it.

  16. HK9 says:

He hates everyone in the White House? Well I’m sure by now they hate him too. Oh, and the American people and the rest of the world hate him as well so the feeling is mutual.

What does he want everything done for him?? This is a job which you are required to do whether people “like” you or not. If his whiny entitled bitch self can’t take it then he should get out.

  17. grabbyhands says:

He is a lunatic in crisis indeed and I’m more terrified now than I have been previously because he’s liable to push a button simply to prove he can. He won’t accept being thwarted or questioned in any way and will literally do anything to prove that he can do whatever he wants.

    And people still support him.

  18. ArchieGoodwin says:

Sophie Trudeau was there as well, I think that is who Melania is smiling at. Justin’s face is priceless.

NAFTA talks have been horrifying, I am reading. Not surprisingly.

    • Rapunzel says:

Trump’s trade decisions are gonna tank US economy. I’m in the CA central valley, and his TPP pullout is destroying Ag here.

    • Heidi says:

I bet when Justin was out of the Oval Office he called his buddy Macron and cried like a baby. Seriously, I admire how he was able to keep a) his mouth shut and b) a straight face.

Sophie probably said beforehand: “Close your eyes and think of Canada…” Poor Justin deserves a cup of hot chocolate. With Marshmallows.

  19. lower case lois says:

There is a new book out about Trump called

The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President
    ISBN-13: 978-1250179456, ISBN-10: 1

It is a good quick read. It is a collection of essays written by Psychologists and Psychiatrists about Trumps mental state. It is scary and enlightening. I am sure these Doctors will be sanctioned somehow by Trump administration.

  20. Lori says:

Im so glad republicans see how incompetent he is- I was starting to wonder if his personality disorders were contagious.

    • Lightpurple says:

They aren’t doing anything about it and they have the power to remove him.

      • Lori says:

Agreed. But at least they see it. Probably wont do anything about it though, since they would never admit to making a big mistake… they would rather watch the dotard ruin the country.

  21. Serene Wolf says:

    Then get the fuq out!
Go back to your golden (shower) days.

  22. paranormalgirl says:

“I hate everyone in the White House!”

Well, Trump, we agree on one thing.

    • magnoliarose says:

      Common ground. OMG!
I hate you for pointing that out. lol I can’t even be contrarian about it.

  23. adastraperaspera says:

Corker is not a heroic guy, or a nice guy (I am one of his constituents). There has to be something pushing him to bait the Cheeto. Probably not the spineless GOP. Maybe in his role as head of Committee on Foreign Relations, he’s come under pressure from NATO allies and other countries who are done putting up with this flaming fiasco. I can’t think of anything else that would make Corker act this way (including planning to resign). He loves power as much as the rest of them–even sucked up to Trump and hoped for the VP spot). Hmmm.

    • Giddy says:

You mean that Corker isn’t selflessly throwing himself into that black void to protect the country and the Constitution? I’m shocked, shocked I say! I think Corker has figured out that Bigly will be eventually run out of D.C., and he wants to be on the right side of history when the sh*t hits the fan. Seriously, maybe that’s the way to get Ryan, McConnell, and the rest of the black knights to finally do their duty and rid us of the Orange menace. We need to appeal to their egos: ” Sir, do you really want your legacy to be that you enabled a clearly insane man to remain in the Presidency? Can you tell us why you clearly put your party over the good of the country? Do you still consider yourself a patriot? “

    • jwoolman says:

He might be legitimately worried about Trump starting WWIII.

      • magnoliarose says:

I think so too. But I do wonder if Corker is ramping up the pressure to make him go too far so that it will force the vote.

    • adastraperaspera says:

Update on my opinion–I just talked with an acquaintance who worked with the legislature in the Tennessee State House for over 30 years. I asked her what she thinks is up with Corker, and told her I think it’s other countries pushing him. She disagreed. She said he is a billionaire who is angry that he did not get appointed VP or Sec. of State, and who is most likely just sick of Trump and his (dangerous/crazy/chaotic) antics. (She doesn’t know him personally.) Her take is that Corker doesn’t need money, isn’t getting any younger, and if he can’t go any higher in government, then he is in a position now to tell off Trump cheerfully. @jwoolman, she agrees that Corker also believes Trump is trying to start a war. It was interesting to get her perspective!

  24. Louisa says:

I never want to hear any Trump supporter rail about the footballers who kneel disrespecting the military again, when their own “dear leader” hasn’t even acknowledged the death of the 4 marines in Niger. I find it unfathomable that someone (Kelly?) hasn’t at least forced him to tweet something about it, even when we all know he doesn’t give a shit.

    • Giddy says:

Those brave men were protecting their country. He should have immediately acknowledged their courage and sacrifice. He should have called their families and expressed the shared sorrow at their loss. He should meet the lane that brings them home. But no, he’s too busy threatening to pull FEMA from Puerto Rico and further crippling Obamacare. He is not in any way a true leader, and he is the farthest thing possible from being a statesman.

      • Lightpurple says:

He was golfing when the plane carrying the bodies landed. Princess Nagini and Melanoma haven’t acknowledged the deaths either

  25. detritus says:

    Penguins went to see Trump.
The traditional gift from a hockey team to the Pres is a jersey.

They gave him a golf bag.

    • Lightpurple says:

Did they let him touch the Cup? Pictures I saw they were keeping it away from him.

      • detritus says:

I think technically anyone can touch it at that event, but yeah they were trying it seemed.
Hockey is strongly apolitical, to its detriment sometimes, but I enjoyed this greatly.

    • Esmom says:

That’s some pretty unsubtle shade, isn’t it? I love it.

    • A says:

F*ck the Pens & f*ck Sidney Crosby too. I’ve been a huge fan but the comments that he made abt the White House visit have really put me off him. I’d be put off the team too, but I’m hanging on by a thread for Phil Kessel alone. I’m so angry with everything. F*ck ’em.

Here’s an interesting interview with a Swede who was deep undercover with the European alt-right. He pretended he was an eager new recruit. He also was in Charlottesville:

    https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/10/11/16424576/europe-alt-right-nazi-racism-trump-brexist

He paints a pretty grim picture of what we are up against. This isn’t going to disappear when Trump goes off into exile in Dubai. One interesting comment he made was referring to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, and the Breitbart site as “alt-light”. Heaven help us.

    • Esmom says:

I look forward to reading this, thanks. I was alarmed to read that our town’s GOP women are bringing in a young alt-right speaker for one of their meetings, this guy who started a McCarthy-esque watchlist of liberal college professors (which is of course, not mentioned in the brief bio they provided). I’m not sure if they’re ignorant about his real agenda or if they are now moving further to the right. Both options are scary.

  28. Lindy says:

Sometimes it just feels like… Pure insanity. How are we not all rioting in the streets? How is there a single human being who looks at this unhinged horrible person and thinks, “yeah, that’s a great president!”.

  29. Amelie says:

Then why doesn’t he just… I don’t know, QUIT. You are making Americans just as miserable as you feel Donald.

He can go back to being a private irate citizen who just rants and raves on Twitter all day long and we can all go back to ignoring him. Also not to arm chair diagnose him, but he definitely has to be mentally ill? I don’t know what it is but I’ve always said early stages of dementia. Puerto Rico being surrounded by “a lot of water, big ocean water” kind of cemented it.

    • Kitten says:

It’s only been nine months still plenty of time for a war or two.

    • Lady D says:

That’s your criteria for a good president? At least two wars out of Bush. Obama must have been a real bummer for you.

    • A says:

I’m hoping that the journalist who threw those shoes at Bush is willing to come out of retirement for a second act. But I think he’s been traumatized enough by what happened after he threw those shoes, so maybe he’s better left alone.

  32. ORIGINAL T.C. says:

He hates everyone in the Whitehouse and since he can’t control them all he is out to control their leaks to the press by trying to take down NBC and CNN. It’s hilarious to see NBC and CNN standing for the first amendment and private business rights when they Just finished weeks of “all sides are equal” regarding Trump’s attacks on NFL players, their freedom of speech and sticking his nose into a private business.

  33. smee says:

Well, I guess we’re even then.

  34. Radley says:

There’s been a lot of stories about him being close to snapping. As long as it doesn’t involve nuking anybody, snap away. Lose it. Go nuts. Strut into the oval office naked. Repeatedly call Bob Corker and ask if his refrigerator is running. Appoint yourself Ambassador to KFC in an elaborate ceremony. Whatever as long as it leads to the exit, permanently.

    Bye b!tch!!

  36. boredblond says:

And he just signed an order that starts the gutting of health care…is his mannequin mrs always present because she’s carrying his meds?

    • jwoolman says:

Trump started sabotaging the Affordable Care Act on Inauguration Day. He told the IRS by executive order to no longer enforce the individual mandate. But getting all those healthy people in the pool is how real insurance works, and that was how they convinced the insurance companies to remove lifetime caps and hassles about pre-existing conditions and got them to accept mandatory coverage of certain important things such as prenatal care and mental health.

Trump has continued with efforts to play games with the subsidies, which convinced the insurance companies to jack up their premiums several times as high as they had previously planned because of the risk. The insurers have been quite vocal about placing the blame on Trump for destabilizing the market and pushing them toward the big premium hikes. They say the Affordable Care Act was not the problem, it’s all on Trump.

  37. why? says:

Why won’t twitter ban the Dotard?

“”Puerto Rico survived the Hurricanes, now a financial crisis looms largely of their own making.” says Sharyl Attkisson. A total lack of……..accountability say the Governor. Electric and all infrastructure was disaster before hurricanes. Congress to decide how much to spend…….We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!”-The Dotard

The same governor who told reporters off the record that The Dotard’s response to the hurricane was not adequate? Why does the governor say one thing in front of the cameras, but another when the cameras are off and the Dotard can’t see or hear him? PR major problem is it’s governor. How much of what PR is facing is due to Rossello’s complicity? Rossello was and is still more concerned about stroking the Dotard’s ego and his decision to put the Dotard before PR is causing more and more harm. Rossello gave the wrong number for the death toll(he told the Dotard that it was 16, but after the Dotard left PR, he announced that it was really 34)l, sat by and did nothing while The Dotard insulted PR and it’s officials, and is now misplacing the blame. The lack of accountability lies with The Dotard, FEMA, and Rossello.

How can the Dotard claim that PR financial problems are of their own making, when his failed golf course was added to their financial problems? His golf course added $33M to their debt.

FEMA has not been amazing. Did you see what the FEMA director said about the mayor of SJ? He said that they tune her out. What type of person says things like this? The mayor of SJ was the one standing up and informing the press about how PR lacks water and people are resorting to drinking rain water or water from creeks. She warned the press, the Dotard, FEMA, and the governor. The governor needs to take responsibility for how his complicity continues to hurt PR. Now the PR are getting sick from drinking contaminated water. It’s time for the governor to do the right thing. This isn’t about making the Dotard feel good about himself. It’s about making PR better and if Rossello can’t understand that, then he needs to step down. Under Rossello, PR isn’t healing or getting better.

    • jwoolman says:

FEMA should start tuning in to the mayor of San Juan. She also explained why FEMA’s requirement that people fill out their forms first just wasn’t working in such a situation. People can’t get on the internet or get to FEMA offices. They can’t even make phone calls.

FEMA is grossly understaffed, thanks to Trump, which might be a lot of their problem. But haven’t they ever had such a situation before, where power and communications were all down for most of the community? Certainly the military knows how to get around such problems.

If they can’t deal properly with Puerto Rico, what’s going to happen in an even bigger emergency?

    • Annetommy says:

I think Rossello was probably bribed with paper towels. But that tweet was just one more in an unending line of atrocious tweets. PR has been treated appalingly, even given the pretty inadequate response to other storm hit areas. If only I could come up with a theory as to why that might be….

  38. why? says:

After seeing how Jerry Jones and Gooddell gave into his pressure(threatened to withhold tax breaks, called JJ 4 times in one day), the Dotard seems to think that he can bully the press into only covering favorable things about him.

“With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!”-The Dotard

The only thing bad for this country is the Dotard. He is acting like this Russia. It sounds more like the Dotard is repeating what his puppetmaster Putin told him to say.

“Network news has become so partisan, distorted and fake that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked. Not fair to public!”-The Dotard

This is coming from the same man who said that Obama wasn’t born in this country and wiretapped Trump Tower. This is what Putin does in Russia and it sounds like The Dotard is just repeating what his puppetmaster Putin told him to say.

  39. why? says:

I’m not buying that John Kelly is the adult in the WH. Kelly is just as complicit and unstable as everyone else in that WH. Remember Kelly was caught on a hot mic telling the Dotard to use the saber on the press. Kelly has also repeated some of the craziness that The Dotard has tweeted. When Kelly changed jobs, we were told that Kelly would stop the leaks, but Kelly is a major leaker. All of these stories depicting Kelly as the victim, adult in the WH, and in a positive light are being leaked by Kelly. Notice how The Dotard has gotten worse since Kelly took over?

Kelly didn’t fire Bannon or Gorka, that was all just an act. Bannon still has access to the WH via Stephen Miller, Gorka’s wife, and Kris Kobach who is writing articles for BB and Bannon while coming up with schemes to suppress votes.

The Dotard isn’t just now unraveling. He was already unraveled. He spent the first day of his term doing what? Arguing that his inauguration crowd size was bigger than Obamas.

  40. why? says:

It’s been 10 months and this country has drastically changed for the worse. The Dotard, is destabilizing every aspect of this country(healthcare, environment, education, campus policy on rape, women’s health issues and pay, NK, Iran Deal, LBGTQ community, not implementing Russian sanctions, allowing Devin Nunes to hijack the Trump Russian investigation, and sports). Who knew that this country could be so easily destroyed from the inside out by simply making the dumbest person in the world president? You would think that the GOP would stop him because The Dotard and his administration are creating a world that their kids will have to live in. This country can’t deal with 7 more years of the Dotard(if the GOP continue to be complicit the 3rd party who got him elected in 2016, will do it again). It’s is going to take years to undo the damage he and his administration have done.

I wish the press would stop falling for “the economy is doing well, so things can’t be that bad” false positive. The economy is “doing well” because the WH is stocked with millionaires and billionaires who still have not divested from their businesses. What happened when the Dotard announced that he and Apple came up with a deal for a factory in Wisconsin? The stock market saw a huge boosts a week later from Apple stocks. Then there are the Mercers, the very rich family who backed BB and Bannon and The Dotard. Isn’t the press at all concerned about how their money is impacting the numbers we are seeing for the stock market?

    • Esmom says:

Yeah, I’m floored at how fast things have descended into chaos. The night of the election I, too, thought the GOP would stop him. I thought someone, anyone, would have some integrity.

  41. Bliss 51 says:

Ok, if Trump somehow someway leaves office (and I know Pence will be worse) does the Mueller investigation end?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snTaSJk0n_Y

    • jwoolman says:

It should continue considering it involves foreign interference in an election. What happened after Nixon resigned?

  42. Betsy says:

Give us our marching orders. I don’t know where we’d put the kids, but it’s time.

    • Heidi says:

BEST. IDEA. EVER. A march on Congress. If you would actually start walking, millions would follow your lead. I really believe that.

Sadly/fortunately, I don’t live in the U.S. If he is ever dumb enough to come to Berlin, I’ll be the first one to protest. I already have a slogan for the poster: “I’d rather go naked than wear Ivanka.”

    • jwoolman says:

May I suggest leaving the kids in McConnell’s and Ryan’s offices? They don’t seem to be doing anything useful otherwise.

  43. Reid10 says:

I don’t always agree with Kaiser on celebrity gossip but when it comes to her perspective on politics and trump….AMEN! I’m with her all the way!

  44. Who ARE These People? says:

Stopped by to give myself the pointless satisfaction of writing, “I hate everyone in the White House too, honey – you included!”

  45. why? says:

Once again John Kelly confirms that he is not the adult in the WH. Did you hear what Kelly said about the Dotard’s tweets on Puerto Rico? He said that the 3 tweets that the Dotard wrote about PR this morning was “exactly accurate”. John Kelly is just as complicit and unstable as everyone else in that WH.

Since the Dotard added to PR dept with his $33 M failed golf course, couldn’t he reimburse PR for that amount? It’s not like he doesn’t have $33M. It was reported that the Dotard raised over $106.7 M in inaugural funds and still have a considerable amount of that money left over.

    • why? says:

The reactions from Kelly’s briefing are interesting. The bots are praising Kelly. Several people were questioning the narrative that Kelly is the adult in the WH because after today’s briefing, they now see him for the complicit puppet he has always been.

More talking points from Kelly’s briefing:

The Dotard’s biggest frustrations are the media and Congress. What’s wrong with Kelly’s statement? What is wrong with Kelly? There are fires in CA and Puerto Rico still hasn’t recovered from the hurricane, but the president of the US is concerned about Congress and the Media. What is more concerning is that this doesn’t bother Kelly.

The Dotard has the right to attack members of Congress when they criticize him.

The press need to get better sources.

He is not quitting or getting fired.

We should be concerned about NK.

He was just thinking hard in that photo of him with his hand on his face. The press is misreading those actions, in those photos it looks more like Kelly is fighting the urge to laugh because he agrees with everything that the Dotard says.

They will stand with American citizens in PR until the job is done, but contradicted himself when he said that the Dotards tweets about PR were exactly accurate.

  46. robyn says:

The feeling is probably mutual. Everything Trump does is like a grating annoying drip, drip on the brain of reason. That he is president of the US still blows my mind every day. He lies like a sidewalk and yet still has enablers and supporters. It’s insanity and destructive for the world. And on those rare occasions when he tries to be cute and “funny” it’s like watching a clown drown. The only thing I can do is to wait for justice and to see him removed from office.

  47. MFM008 says:

What a coincedence. I hate everyone in the White House as well….

  48. why? says:

The press fell for Kelly’s con act. Despite the fact that he chastised the WH press reporters and basically called them liars, they called him charming simply because he didn’t react to them the same way that Spicer and Sarah do. Kelly said a lot of lies in his briefings and one WH reporter said that he was truthful. I wish the press would stop feeding us this nonsense that Kelly is the adult in the WH, especially when there is enough evidence to contradict them. The WH reporters are doing a great disservice to use. Just like the GOP, they have become complicit. The WH treats these reporters horribly and they just sit back and take it.

It’s interesting how the WH reporters version of Kelly differ from what the viewers on twitter saw. The WH reporters have decided to go along with the narrative created by the bots.

    • why? says:

Ali V sat in for Lawrence O today, and he and the 3 guests didn’t fall for Kelly’s con. They pointed out all the things that were wrong with Kelly’s briefing today. The press has one job to do and they often fail, so it’s nice to see that some members of the press aren’t falling in line with the narrative that the bots and the WH press reporters are spinning. I just don’t understand why the WH press reporters are so complicit to the where they refuse to say what they really thought of Kelly’s briefing.

Finally someone was brave enough to call out the governor of PR for being way too complicit and not calling out The Dotard and his administration for inadequate help.

  49. Elysium1973 says:

I’m not sure what thread to post this in but I thought I’d share. I knew we were in trouble when my 70 year old mother- a very moderate republican who hates Hillary (which goes back to the 90’s when she tried to pass healthcare because my dad is a physician) told me in October 2016 that she was reading nutty stories on Facebook from her other upper middle class friends that Bill and Hillary had Vince Foster killed. ON FUCKING FACEBOOK. That was circulating around at the time. My dad, who I love, is Mr/Dr Fox News and we got into horrible screaming crying fights over the election. It’s part of the reason why I closed on my first house and have seen then twice since July. The other thing is that I live in a Houston suburb. When I went to vote there was a mile line around the one polling place. I’ve always voted since 1992 and I’ve never seen anything like it. I couldn’t vote because I ran out of time. Something is majorly fucked. I hate the orange one with a passion that I’ve never felt better and it’s just getting worse.

  50. why? says:

Each day just keeps getting worse. Putin came up with the best way to destroy America without sending his troops. Elect the dumbest person in the world as president and then surround him with WS and complicit GOP members who put party above the people every time. It also doesn’t help that the press are failing to do their job. They don’t factcheck the Dotard or the GOP members who spread lies. They tiptoe around calling the Dotard a WS and purposely sabotaging Obamacare.

“The wonderful people of Puerto Rico, with their unmatched spirit, know how bad things were before the H’s. I will always be with them!”-The Dotard

The Dotard continues to blame PR, even though his failed golf course contributed to PR’s debt. If he will always be with them, then his tweet would have been completely different.

“Hard to believe that the Democrats, who have gone so far LEFT that they are no longer recognizable, are fighting so hard for Sanctuary crime”-The Dotard

Once again, the Dotard is trying to start a cultural war. If he was serious about crime, he would do something about the WS.

“ObamaCare is a broken mess. Piece by piece we will now begin the process of giving America the great HealthCare it deserves!”-The Dotard

The Dotard whines about fake news and then he spreads it. Obamacare isn’t a broken mess, which is why the Dotard is doing everything possible to sabotage it(decreasing advertising funds, reducing enrollment duration, ending subsidies, and allowing people to buy plans out of their state). The only reason he is launching this attack on Obamacare is because he is jealous of Obama. The Dotard is only hurting his base(the supporters that are left over once you subtract the fraction that are Russian bots).

“Sadly, they and others are Fake News, and the public is just beginning to figure it out!”-The Dotard

This is coming from the man who has been falsely spreading that Obamacare is in a death spiral and imploding.

“The Democrats ObamaCare is imploding. Massive subsidy payments to their pet insurance companies has stopped. Dems should call me to fix!”-The Dotard

The Dotard whines about fake news and then he spreads it. Obamacare isn’t imploding. The insurance companies have stated that they dropped out and that premiums are rising because of the uncertainty created by The Dotard and his administration. The Dotard is hurting his own base(the number minus the Russian bots) and he doesn’t care.

“People are just now starting to find out how dishonest and disgusting (FakeNews) @NBCNews is. Viewers beware. May be worse than even @CNN!”-The Dotard

The Dotard is projecting. People are seeing just how dishonest and disgusting he is. The Dotard whines about NBC, but isn’t he still a producer for The Apprentice?
