I didn't start liking sports in order to please my husband. With Jessica, maybe Nick never made sports-watching something they could enjoy together, but Tony has. In watching The Newlyweds, episodes with Nick watching sports always showed him intensely into the games and getting really angry if his team wasn't doing well. That doesn't look like a fun time, and maybe that's why she made fun of him. It also helps I'm sure that she wanted to watch Tony play, and now has a team to root for because someone she cares about is playing on it.
