An award for “expanding women’s roles in film”? HOW? She plays the same whiny, sad, romantic-loser victim roles. How is that MEANINGFUL for women?There are a lot of wonderful actresses taking on challenging and interesting roles out there. I LOVE KATE WINSLET. She’s done SO many interesting roles. Same goes for Charlize Theron and Reese. This award is a slap in the face to women. All it says is be popular and make cheesy, crappy movies that make money and we will reward you for it. Don’t go out on the limb, don’t try to stretch your talent, don’t take unique, intersting or edgy material. THIS AWARD IS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO WOMEN.

I do not read tabloid crap, I simply do not trust what is printed. My exposure to them extends no further than the grocery check out line. I do follow interviews done in magazines like Vanity Fair, People, and live interviews such as Oprh and Barbara Walters. I thought my post was more than long enough, so I did not reference the interviews where she has stated the distasteful remarks.

Please google 2005 and Aniston’s interviews. Don’t forget to read the Vanity Fair article in 2005 as well.

sanaiya, I don’t need to go to a Jolie thread and ask that, since, as stated, she doesn’t interest me. I asked you. But your point appears to be that since people do it to Jolie, that makes it ok. I find that beyond childish, but if that’s your answer, so be it.

And yes I do feel free to question posters when their goal seems to be posting as much negativity as possible about someone they dislike so. The same people never resist an opportunity to make a vile comment. You might find it normal behaviour in your world, but claiming to be such happy people while posting nothing but hate and nastiness seems like a major contradiction to me. That isn’t directed at you, since I’ve never noticed your name before this thread, but it applies to enough in here to be a valid point whether you acknowledge that or not.

This site is called celebitchy. This is where we come to read about celebrity gossip. If you’re so concerned about women being raped and murdered then how come you’re not on a different website?
It IS weird that she gets an award for playing the same character over and over again.
The movie Marley and Me was a big hit because of the dog, not her. It also helps that it is a popular book.
But seriously, I have never seen a role she has played besides Rachel Green where I have thought to myself “She is the only one who could do that.” Any other actress could do what she does and probably for less money.
I don’t hate Jennifer Aniston. If it wasn’t for the Bermuda Triangle no one would even care about her. Getting a divorce from Brad was the best career move she has ever made.

I dont know why people have such a hard time believing JA can receive an award. she has received countless awards for her career. now she gets honored for women in film and the world just cant wait to say something nasty. when was the last time you were recognized nationally? if AJ were the one being recognized i would take the time to reflect on her career, not how many people she has slept with.
The dress is hot! it would look like shit on alot of other people! For once can we recognize her for working her ass off(physically and professionaly)because her and many others, AJ included, deserve it?!
