Milo Ventimiglia won’t discuss girlfriend: ‘I try and remain anonymous, invisible’

In this age of oversharing celebrities, it’s kind of refreshing when an actor wants to keep his private life just that, and now we have another reason to love This is Us star Milo Ventimiglia.

The handsome 40-year-old, currently shooting the upcoming big screen comedy Second Act, where he plays Jennifer Lopez’s love interest, made the promotional rounds this week to promote his partnership with Kelley Blue Book and the 2018 Best Buy Awards. When talk of Milo’s love life came up, he told PEOPLE that he’d rather have his acting in the spotlight. He said, “I try to minimize myself so people can see the character and can really dive into the work. I try and remain as anonymous and invisible as I can so it doesn’t take away from the experience of the men that I play.”

Milo played off his fame with an “Aw, shucks” attitude, even though he stars on one of TV’s most popular dramas, confessing, “I don’t know how interesting my life is any more than anyone else’s. I got to feed myself, I got to get to the gym, I have family, I have close friends and loved ones.”

One of those “loved ones” is Milo’s (rumored) girlfriend, 31-year-old marketing coordinator Kelly Egarian, who was spotted for the first time in public with Milo at the Emmy Awards back in September. Milo hasn’t publicly confirmed that he and Kelly are an item, and when asked by Extra earlier this week if he was seriously dating anyone, he replied “No, not right now. I’m kind of committed to the job.” He added that playing a Dad on TV hasn’t aroused any paternal instincts just yet, admitting, “Not yet, man, I get all the practice without the early a.m. wake-ups…At some point, I will have a family. But not yet.”

As for that job, Milo is putting in more than just his own sweat and tears into the role, he’s also sharing something from his own garage. During an interview with Access Hollywood Live, Milo said that the car Jack Pearson drives on the show is his very own classic Chevrolet Chevelle, which he named Evelyn – well, as he put it, “She picked it.” He went on to say that the producers initially wanted Jack to drive a Camaro on the show, but he suggested to them that “You can’t put Jack Pearson in a Camaro.” He offered his car for the show on one condition. “I go, ‘Okay, well you can use my car no problem, but whatever you’re going to pay me for it goes back to coffee trucks and burger trucks for the crew. Make it work for the crew.’” What an awesome, Jack Pearson-y thing to do.

As for the inevitable fate of Jack, Milo told Extra that fans would soon know how he lost his life, revealing, “Yes. It’s coming up very quickly. Very quickly.” Executive producer Isaac Aptaker corroborated this, telling The Hollywood Reporter that, since we’ve already seen how Kevin breaks his leg, the end is nigh for Jack. He said, “The last element that needs to fall into place before we can reach that day is Randall meeting the girlfriend that we see in [episode] 201. If you’re keeping track, we’re definitely quickly approaching the time of his death.” As much as I am not looking forward to that, I am looking forward to the return of This is Us on January 2.

His choice to not put his personal life out there. I think it’s fine if a celeb is consistently low profile. And how cool that instead of more money he asks for something that benefits the crew. Awesome.
I’m not ready to relive jacks death

I honestly don’t know anything about Mr. Ventimiglia but I do agree 100% that he is a handsome 40-year old. I love people that look natural like he does.

  3. Louise says:

Genuine question – does anyone know if those rumours about him abusing Alexis Bledel were true?

    • HeidiM says:

yes and Hayden P as well. I just can’t look at the guy. I’ve been watchng the show with friends who love it, and i have to bite my tongue when his smug face comes on. I’m kinda shocked that the girlfriend is not 18.

I like the show and the acting. Milo is a fine looking chap, and it is wise to have a separate life. It is much healthier on the psyche and for relationships. You don’t have to sell your soul and every detail of everything to have a successful career. It is a choice.

  6. Mia4s says:

This guy never quite works for me. How old was Hayden Panettiere when they started dating?

  7. African Sun says:

Sometimes actors literally act like not answering the question makes them an auteur and it just makes them look pretentious and annoying.

  8. Harryg says:

I really can’t stand the “oh I’m so private”-act. Why are you an actor then – clearly you want to get noticed? Also, they pushed this show so much it was irritating.

  9. Peachy says:

I love Milo. He was good in that horrible D film with Jason Statham. He played a whiny gangster. He’s a solid actor.
