Brad Pitt, President Obama vie to be most stylish man with the best abs

It seems everyone is doing some kind of “Hottest Hollywood Dad” or “Most Handsome Man” poll these days. Vanity Fair’s “Most Beautiful Man” poll is still going on, but the Twihards need to step up their game – Robert Pattinson has dropped from 59% to 51% in just two weeks! Go, Twihards, go! Anyway, I suspect most of these polls are to honor Father’s Day, which is this coming Sunday. Thus, we have two new polls, all to honor the famous men in our lives. What’s shocking to me is that President Obama and Brad Pitt, two men in their mid- to late thirties, seem to be locked in some kind of hottest, coolest, most stylish death match. All for the glory, baby.

The first poll that I found is definitely the lamer of the two. Allegedly, Jockey International Inc. asked women which celebrity dad they would most like to see in their underwear. Brad Pitt apparently won hands down, and President Obama claimed the number five spot. Do these women realize that Brad’s abs aren’t up to Thelma & Louise quality anymore?

Sure Mark Wahlberg and David Beckham have sizzled in their skivvies in sexy underwear ads. But, neither of them is the man that ladies really want to see strip down.

According to a pre-Father’s Day poll done by Jockey International Inc., Brad Pitt is the celebrity dad most women would like to see in his underwear.

The Inglourious Basterds star beat out Matthew McConaughey by just five percent to claim the top spot, and Hugh Jackman, Will Smith and President Barack Obama complete the top five.

The second poll is a bit more reasonable. The British clothing company Thomas Pink polled 3000 men to determine the twenty most stylish men they could think of. Shockingly, President Obama won hands down. Brad Pitt came in second. The president of Thomas Pink commented, “World leaders and politicians are not known for their dress sense, so it’s refreshing to have Obama who seems to genuinely care about his appearance.” I disagree. Obama looks nice in his suits and his casual-wear, but he doesn’t seem like he cares about clothes at all.

President Barack Obama has been named the most stylish man in a poll of 3,000 men.

The president, who moved into the White House in January, has impressed fashion experts across the globe with his sharp suits and smooth sense of style.

Brad Pitt, the Hollywood actor, came second thanks to his ability to look stylish in a sharp suit and dressed down jeans.

Jonathan Heilbron, President & CEO of luxury shirt company Thomas Pink, which carried out the poll, said: “Barack Obama has a great sense of style, which no doubt adds to his popularity. World leaders and politicians are not known for their dress sense, so it’s refreshing to have Obama who seems to genuinely care about his appearance.”

Third place in the poll of 3,000 men was taken by David Beckham, whose trendy style has seen him become one of the most photographed men in the world. Daniel Craig, the James Bond star, is at number four, followed by The Godfather actor Al Pacino.

George Clooney was voted into sixth place, with designer Giorgio Armani even saying that the former ER star makes a suit look “simply fantastic”.

Bill Nighy, who has recently been on the big screen in The Boat That Rocked, came seventh, while painter and filmmaker Andy Warhol was at eight. Clint Eastwood and Will Smith completed the top ten.

The poll also asked what they considered to be the most essential fashion items in a man’s wardrobe; a crisp white shirt came first followed by a pair of blue jeans and a casual t-shirt.

The nominated ‘most stylish’ men have all been photographed numerous times wearing white shirts, each adding their own individual stamp to this most timeless of looks.

Jonathan Heilbron, President & CEO of Thomas Pink, said: “These guys have access to the latest designer trends and can get away with wearing virtually anything, yet time and time again they are seen in a sharp white shirt with jeans or a suit.”

[From The Telegraph]

I think quite a bit of President Obama, but I don’t really consider him all that stylish. He’s a nice-looking man, but his clothes aren’t all that awesome. I actually like that he doesn’t seem like a clotheshorse, that he seems to only care about style as far as what is functional. Unlike Brad Pitt, who seems to really care about his clothes even if he sometimes looks a bit overstyled. Between the two of them… well, I daresay I considered President Bush a better dresser. Bush had great suits, and you could tell he cared about tailoring. But I’m all over Bill Nighy and George Clooney on this poll – both men look fabulous, and they make the effort.

He’s not famous/popular enough to get in these polls, I suppose, but Joshua Jackson is one of the most stylish men in Hollywood. He always looks great.

  2. georgiagrl says:

    They BOTH deserve it!!!!!

  3. crab says:

Is any one else seeing everything underlined?

  4. Celebitchy says:

    Sorry crab will fix that!

  5. Oenix says:

Because President Obama is tall AND lean, he can practically get away with wearing anything. In my next reincarnation I want to come back as a tall/lean man – all they have to do is jump into ANYTHING and they look GORGEOUS. Not the same for most women of any size/shape/height – may be it all depends on the current beauty standard.

  6. geronimo says:

Kaiser – agree. I’m all over Bill Nighy and Clooney on this poll too! The thing is, Clooney and Nighy (and Obama too) have an inate style, it’s not a clothes thing at all, it’s the way they wear them, the way they look just as good scruffy as formal, it’s them, it’s careless, it’s personality and the clothes just enhance and emphasise that. That’s true style.

Brad Pitt, on the other hand, comes across as someone who cares too much about the way he looks, therefore doesn’t work at all for me. No business at No.2. 😉

  7. Dirty Martini says:

this incessant fawning, Obama worship is just tedious.

    Stylish w/best abs? seriously?

  8. Kaiser says:

Geronimo – Yeah, I can see your point. The thing I like about Brad is that he cares, and he puts out an effort. Even if his style is a bit gaudy at times, he cares about good tailoring and good design. I think Obama has good taste in general, but I’m tired of seeing him in suits that need to be tailored for his long, lean frame.

    Team Nighy all the way.

  9. geronimo says:

K – they forgot to include Viscount Dandy. 🙂

  10. Kaiser says:

John Malkovich? Amen to that. I was just thinking it’s been a while since we’ve heard about my original crush.

  11. Kara says:

    Um … fact check please.

Obama was born in 1961, which makes him 48.
Pitt was born in 1963, which makes him 46.

Neither of them are “mid to late 30s”. Which, I think, is part of the point.

  12. Codzilla says:

    Oenix: Amen to that.

Brad’s casual wear is OK, I guess, but his pimp suits and silly hats are laughable.

  13. cara says:

Who the hell are these people who think Barry has abs??? (The guy is just skinny, prob cause of his tobacco habit). I thought one needed definition to have abs.

  14. XxX says:

Obama is not even close to Pitt. Holy cow! stop the worship already. O aint no god, he’s a politician.

  15. Annie says:

…So because we think a man dresses well, we’re equating him to God?

Then Jesus must be the snappiest dresser this side of the Mississippi river!

Quit the hating. At least Obama didn’t come out and say he “answers to a higher power” like some kind of divine right bullsh*t.

  16. cara says:

@annie….because he is his own higher power!

  17. hmmm says:

The photos of Pitt are not recent and do not reflect the current state of his abs.
Half the time we see Pitt’s underwear through his open fly or sticking out from the waistline of his pants. I am sure he is a nice guy but he is so not hot and classless. He always looks uncomfortable in nice clothing (like a little kid playing dress-up) and he always sounds idiotic – he’s an average guy who can be credited with being happy about being a father, a good career, narcissistic, and lending his time to good causes – but to credit him with his unbelievable godlike status, above average intellect, classy behavior, acting ability, and selfless behavior is ridiculous.

  18. BlueSkies says:

Please correct “two men in their mid to late thirties”. You should know the age of the president.

  19. barneslr says:

Puh-leez. This blind worship of messiah Obama has got to stop! He has man boobs, for crying out loud!

Be honest; if you had never seen or heard of him before-if he was just another ordinary person-if you saw him on the beach, would you think he was hot? Of course not.

He’s in reasonably good shape, sure. But he has far from a stellar, spectacular body worth “oohing” over.

  20. cry, repubs, cry! says:

bow down to your new messiah, bitches.

    HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
