In fact from my experience, it's usually the less intelligent who possess that heightened appetency toward a petty, spiteful, pathological mindset. It has a lot to do with how they manage feelings of inadequacy and their own insecurities. As another saying goes: So much emotion, so little brain to contain it. “Sometimes I doubt she’s as calculating as people claim, simply because she’d have to have at least a somewhat average level of intelligence.”
