Jordan Peele placed his Oscar face-to-face with his Emmy, in front of the ‘Get Out’ chair

Even though this year’s Oscars were not the best, there were a few bright spots, like the fact that Jordan Peele became the first African-American to win Best Original Screenplay. The entire Oscars should have been that: just that moment on a loop, and then they could give Peele like an hour to make an acceptance speech. Amazingly, Jordan’s former comedy partner Keegan Michael Key was attending an Oscar party and this is what happened when Jordan won (I’m so glad someone documented this):

Keegan posted an Instagram slideshow of his reactions to Jordan winning too. This is about to make me cry!!

Man-on-man PRIDE! Keegan is so purely happy for his friend. It’s amazing. Jordan tweeted some stuff on Monday too, giving props to Whoopi Goldberg:

And this amazing photo of his Oscar meeting his Emmy.

And that is THE Get Out Chair in the background.

Ooooooh, that’s hilarious!! 😂😂 Now I’m going to YouTube to watch those clips.

I need them to do a skit as the valet’s about Peele winning a oscar. It would give me LIFE. It would be amazing.

What a ride he’s been on. So deserved.

Key and Peele make me so happy! They’re so pure and wonderful and I’ve always really appreciated their specific view on comedy (I’m also mixed, you think that wouldn’t be difficult for people to handle but, oh boy, it is!). So happy for Jordan!

I clapped and screamed so loudly that I feared my neighbors would call the police. Such a great moment…hopefully leading to a movement.

My favorite win of the evening, I was so excited for him! My bff & I we’re texting throughout and I texted how the ceremony finally got interesting. It gave me a little bit of hope that Director & Picture were within his reach.

  6. Lucy says:

Bravo, Mr. Peele. This will hopefully be the first of many wins!

  7. Eric says:

    Well-deserved Oscar!

Can’t wait for another original film from him. Love the juxtaposition of Oscar/Emmy with THAT chair.

    Tea anyone?

    Keegean and Peele!! Yay

Similar to the writing win for Juno, it’s nice when the academy can acknowledge not every best of the year movie is a straight up drama.
Congrats to the actual best movie of the year.

I hadn’t gotten so emotional over an Oscar win since Diablo Cody won for “Juno” (still one of my all-time favorites for so many reasons), but Jordan got me right in the feels. I adore that man, and Keegan Michael getting his Roberto Beginini on at that party warms even my cold, dead heart.

Wonderful win! And so lovely to see the joy.

  11. Insomniac says:

Thank you. So nice to see something purely happy today. I’m so happy for Peele, and that picture of Key jumping sky-high with a cheering Colin Hanks when Peele’s name was called is awesome.

  12. Bethany F says:

love to see how happy Key was for Peele! so sweet.

Also Colin Hanks looks so much like his dad, wow

    also: DRAXX THEM SKLOUNST!

    Love Keegan’s reaction!
I’m so happy for Jordan, and I hope he takes the time to enjoy this, and then gets to work on more movies. Get Out was really good, and I hope he has a long, bright future ahead of him as a filmmaker.

  14. Joannie says:

I thought “Get Out” was a weird show. Didn’t like it at all.

  15. holly hobby says:

OMG love the reaction from Keegan. The unfiltered reactions are the best. I also liked how those awards were posed.

  16. Ang says:

I totally cried when he won and I haven’t even seen Get Out yet!

  17. Ozogirl says:

I have no interest in that movie, but I’m so happy for him and I hope it opens many doors that might have otherwise been closed. I look forward to seeing more of him! I loved his show with Keegan!

  18. Anare says:

Love the pic of his two trophies and the caption. Lol!
