Kim Zolciak: Marlon Wayans comparing me to White Chicks ‘inappropriate’ due to MeToo

No we are not in production on White Chicks 2. The fuck?!

A post shared by Marlon Wayans (@marlonwayans) on

Earlier this week, comedian Marlon Wayans posted a screenshot from The Real Housewives of Atlanta featuring Kim Zolciak’s plumped up overdrawn lips, blonde wavy wig, and her face looking like it’s melting (like it always does). He made a reference to White Chicks, his 2004 film in which he and his brother went undercover as Paris Hilton-type white girls, looking similar to Kim in this shot. Kim saw that and posted a comment because of course she did, and then her husband, football player Kroy Biermann, came to her defense, bringing up Wayans’s daughter as if that’s at all relevant. His wife gets in feuds with people for her job and she’s “39,” she’s not a teenager. US Magazine has the details:

“Was always a super big fan of yours and my kids loved you,” the 39-year-old reality star commented on the post. “This hurts but I guess its all for laughs.”

Kroy Biermann… came to his wife’s defense in the comments of the post.

“You should hope & pray that one day a grown man never takes this kind of dig at the expense of your daughter. Grow up dude,” the 32-year-old wrote.

According to an alleged screenshot from Comments by Celebs, Kim’s frenemy NeNe Leakes also commented multiple laughing face emojis and a lip emoji on the post.

[From US Magazine]

After that a TMZ paparazzo caught up with Kroy and Kim at the airport, where they were all too willing to discuss this minor feud in detail. Kim brought up MeToo, which is not AT ALL relevant to this but she thinks it is, and Kroy called it “disrespectful to men in general.” What? I transcribed the relevant part of the video so you don’t have to watch them say all these inane things as Kim plays with her fake hair.

What do you think about this hate coming out of Marlon Wayans, that’s pretty wild right?
Kim: That’s pretty disgusting.

Would you forgive him if he apologized? Do you think it’s comedy?
Kim: I think it’s inappropriate that a grown ass man in this MeToo movement is knocking a woman, I think it’s gross.

Were you upset?
Kroy: Enough about upset, I just think it’s disrespectful to men in general. Be a man. It’s not being a man. Total coward move.

Do you think there’s a comedy pass that you give them?
Kroy: No because it’s not funny. Are the Wayan brothers relevant? They’re trying to make themselves relevant.

I know you said you guys were disappointed and [that] you were fans. Is that going to change?
Kroy: That’s just ignorant and it’s not funny. It’s not setting a good example.

Any parting words to that guy?
Kim: No. Live and learn.
Kroy: Educate yourself buddy, get some education.

We ran into Marlon and we asked him about it. He claims that “I didn’t come up with that,” he tried to slide under…
Kroy: even more of a coward. You can’t even own your own words? You say them, but then you f’ing deny saying them?

[Transcribed from video on TMZ]

I never paid much attention to these people, but Kroy is not the brightest bulb right? It’s like he rehearsed his talking points with Kim ahead of time, they pledged to bring up MeToo and all men like Wayans’s joke was an affront to his gender and to women, instead of a commentary on Kim’s face looking like a plastic dyed mask. That’s how these people are and that’s why they’re famous. Kim is perfect for the Real Housewives franchise because she can dish it out but she can’t take it. She’s always feuding with people. Plus she’s been called racist by her costars. I’m not surprised she’s claiming that Wayans is being sexist against her. I’m sure she’ll do a bunch of interviews about this and act like it’s the worst thing ever. That’s what reality stars do.

  1. Stella in NH says:

I don’t watch any reality television and when I saw Kim Zolciak, I immediately thought of White Chicks. She looks just like them. She should be thanking the Wayan brothers because they had the look before she did.

    • Lindy79 says:

Comparing this to the #MeToo movement? Have a seat Kim.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

She just confirmed what most people who have seen her know: she is a colossal idiot.

    • naomipaige says:

I agree. Also, what does this have to do with #MeToo? Am I missing something?
Personally, I found it funny AF!!

What she’s a loud to say mean things about others, but can’t take the heat when mean things are said about her. WTF!!!!

      • Rumi says:

Yep when I saw her for the first time I thought of the white chicks too. Oh please nothing to do with meetoo more to do with overdoing plastic / cosmetic surgery. Alot of these reality stars look awful and fake.

    • whatWHAT? says:

agree completely. plus, she CHOSE to look this way. it’s not like he’s mocking someone with a facial disfigurement or deformity.

and I hate to break it to him (no, I don’t…and WTF kind of name is “Kroy”, anyway? ) but the Wayans are WAY MORE relevant than he is.

    • annabanana says:

Yup she really does look like the characters from white chicks. She’s not the first person from the housewives franchise to use metoo for something totally unrelated, brandy Glanville also used it in reference t her thing with Gerard butler

      • Raina says:

I honestly don’t know what she originally looked like. She could have been an old man for all I know. She looks like a foreign species you see on the discovery channel or a drawing of what scientists think people looked like millions of years ago. I have No idea what this is. Dead serious.
And, moreover, she puts herself out there for the public. People are gonna say what they’re gonna say. She makes money from them saying anything.
But, honest to God, what IS this…

    • AnnaKist says:

I don’t watch reality shows, either, and don’t know if her show is even on in Australia. I have never clicked on any story about her before. Oh, my gosh, but she looks tragic. What does she see when she looks in the mirror? I wonder if her husband ever tells her that enough is enough? She needs help, and not from a cosmetic surgeon. The Wayans thing is pretty funny and that’s because there’s a huge helping of truth in his tweet.

Wait. I DO watch one “reality” show. It’s called Bondi Vet. It’s very interesting, informative and warms my cold, cold heart. 🐕 🐈 🐸 🐢 🐟 🐍 🐨

      • whatWHAT? says:

the veterinary reality shows are the best. Doc Pol is my favorite.

      • Ange says:

I saw the Bondi Vet at an event a few years ago. It was a casual event on a very hot day and he cheerfully went and got beers for his whole crew. That struck me as a pretty nice thing to do.

    • still_sarah says:

I saw the movie and enjoyed it. Terry Crewe is great in it. And Wayan is right – there is a resemblance.

  2. Lestat says:

Being mocked on your appearance when you don’t feel confident enough about it always hurts.
Men really like to bully women and I do understand her being upset about it.

    • Bridget says:

She’s actually quite confident in herself and the massive amount of work she’s had done, to the point where her daughter is doing the same thing.

      • Snowflake says:

^^yes. I can’t believe kroy doesn’t have a problem with it. She doe’s look ridiculous and her daughter is so young. My dad would be curious with my mom if she and I went and got plastic surgery. Especially at Brielle young age

      • Lestat says:

I doubt. The very fact that she rebuilt her entire face says otherwise. She probably is very insecure.
I don’t condone people being idiots to other women and bullying their appearance.
I also don’t understand how we being such liberal feminists pick and choose which women we support in those cases of bullying. If Kim felt hurt who am I to tell her that her pain is nothing?

    • Dee says:

It was a joke, and if she was confident enough in herself, she would have laughed too. Someone told me last week I need to get my teeth fixed and I laughed because I know I do but heeeeeey I don’t have all that spare time and money to get veneers. No one’s comment about my appearance would ever make me hurt.

      • Lestat says:

you are unfortunately a minority. Most of us are insecure because we can’t achieve the beauty standards.

      • Izzy says:

They really said that?? You should have told them to go get their soul fixed.

    • Needlehole says:

“I also don’t understand how we being such liberal feminists pick and choose which women we support in those cases of bullying. If Kim felt hurt who am I to tell her that her pain is nothing?”

      Well said Lestat.

  3. Nicole says:

I see she subscribed to the Taylor Swift school of “feminism”

  4. the better bella says:

    Yikes.

Her and her husband are stupid. I would fear for their daughters but they are doomed already.

  5. RBC says:

Someone please tell me that photo of Kim has been photoshopped to give her those obscene looking lips? That can’t be something she is actually proud of! Yikes!!

    • tmbg says:

It seems like it’s every reality star’s goal to look like Janice from The Muppet Show:

      http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Janice

    • Kitten says:

I literally gasped when I saw that photo.

Generally-speaking, I feel badly for people who are mocked for their appearance, but this is voluntary surgery–she CHOSE to look this way. So sure, what he said was mean but I think she needs to let it go. If she’s happy with the choices she’s made in terms of her appearance then this shouldn’t bother her.

    • N.L. says:

      She looks awful.

  6. Lucy2 says:

I think the comment was kind of mean, coming from another celebrity who knew it would get lots of attention, but it has nothing to do with #MeToo.

  7. Suki says:

A mean comment and I am on her side.

  8. smcollins says:

Well I thought it was funny, and a pretty accurate comparison. If that makes me awful and immature so be it.

    • K-Peace says:

I thought it was funny! Kim is ruining her face, and, even worse, is allowing her young daughter to get the same face-ruining surgeries. Which is just awful, IMO. Maybe this will give her a badly-needed reality check.

And comparing it to the MeToo movement is just wrong and totally inappropriate.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I think that is what her reaction is about… she’s gone too far with the face jacking and she may be reconciling with it.

    • naomipaige says:

      It’s friggen hysterical……

I’d bet money she isn’t anywhere done with the surgery. And now, her daughter seems to have joined in the quest to be a blow up doll. 🙂

  9. sus says:

It has nothing at all to do with MeToo, but I’d rather men not give their unsolicited opinions on women’s looks. No matter the woman.

    • Kitten says:

You make a good point. It is really tiresome.

    • Kayahead says:

Meh, I understand this opinion on just about any other career out there but I feel like the whole purpose of these reality stars is to put themselves out there to be a spectacle, to be talked about, and being fodder for jokes may be a side effect . Not like actors, politicians or singers from whom the spotlight is a side consequence of doing the job that they love… Not sure if I’m making sense here, just processing out loud.

  10. OriginalLala says:

I don’t follow the real housewives, but I dunno…she has had so much plastic surgery to the point that she looks made of wax, this tells me she likely has some serious body image issues so I don’t really think it’s cool for a major celebrity to pick on her, but also, what a culture we live in where women feel they need to disfigure themselves in order to be considered “beautiful” 🙁

  11. jenna says:

It’s a mean joke (that I giggled at), and she has every right to be hurt by it because the joke was on her. But she’s also an idiot and the MeToo analogy made no sense, so I can’t offer much beyond a shrug to all this.

  12. deets says:

    Misogyny is still misogyny.
She didn’t deserve to be body shamed publicly by a comedian looking for a laugh.

We’re chosing the dude who made his career off of jokes about women, over the idiot who was body shamed? Because she’s annoying with bad surgery? Kay.

    • Bridget says:

      How was she body shamed?

      • Her face is, in fact, part of her body — if he had made a similar joke about butt or breast implants, or jacked up lipo or any number of procedures that can go wrong…it would be considered body shaming.

I agree with Deets — just because we dislike the target does not make the ‘joke’ ok.

    • annabanana says:

      Body shamed? How?

      • deets says:

You don’t understand how being the punchline of a joke about your face is body shaming? Did you think comparing her to himself in white face and drag was a compliment?
        Come on now.

      • Lyka says:

@deets, What’s so shameful about drag?? Not everything that’s NOT a compliment is body shaming, like daaaaaamn.

    • pan says:

seriously? y’all… no. this knee-jerk (over)reaction to everything is exhausting. i don’t know how folks do it!

    • Asiyah says:

No I think people are “choosing” him over her because of her history of lying, body shaming other women, tearing down other women, borderline racist comments, etc. etc.

  13. Mar says:

To be honest – it’s refreshing to see people being called out for destroying their face and bodies. It’s enough already. My 10 year old thinks it’s normal to have fake boobs – nose jobs – fake butts- even though she doesn’t want any of this ( right now) it seems all of the “ role models of self esteem” are beyond plastic.

    • K-Peace says:

^^This. This culture of famous people ruining their bodies with gruesome plastic surgery, is influencing the young people of society in horrible ways. That, to me at least, is a bigger problem than racist Kim Zolciak having hurt feelings over a joke. So, though it technically might’ve been rude of Marlon Wayans to insult a woman, I personally think overall it’s a good thing that other famous people point out how awful these plastic-surgery addicts actually look. It’s a much-needed dose of reality, to point out “Hey, you know what, this overly-plastic look is NOT attractive!”. It might make some young person who was considering lip injections, to think twice before getting them.

      • Mel M says:

Totally agree. My kids are growing up in a world where it almost seems like a right of passage or only a matter of time before you get something tweaked, tucked or puffed. I’m so glad I didn’t but it is incredibly worrisome, especially for my daughter. You can only do so much as a parent to try and plant the idea that they are enough but by the time they hit kindergarten, since it’s full time nowadays, they spend more time around other people then you.

    • psl says:

I point out how fake this is to anyone who admires these women who pay to have themselves deformed in this fashion. It is SO damaging to young women, especially young ones.

I cannot wait for “natural” to come back in style again.

    • The rise of the internet has given license for all kinds of ‘refreshing calling out’.

I am not a fan of the aesthetic regarding the huge lips, hair extensions, fake eyelashes, fake fannies, 6 inch heels for every day wear etc. but they are PERSONAL CHOICES that these people can afford.

Some of these people have some good work done (looking at you Jane Fonda) and others look like caricatures. Still a PERSONAL CHOICE…

I don’t find anything at all refreshing about a well known name getting cheap laughs off of someone’s looks.

    • Dee says:

Agree! My niece is ten and she keeps saying she’s ‘so fat’ and needs ‘lip’ and ‘bigger boobs’. SHE IS TEN!!!

  14. Bridget says:

Not body shaming, not Me Too. Kim has happily been remodeling her face and body for years, and will continue to do so. I’m actually just surprised that this hit a nerve, she is one of the most shameless people on Reality tv. Isn’t this a woman who tried to tell everyone that she wears a wig because she has cancer at one point?

  15. barrett says:

She is not able to hear that she’s gone beyond tasteful minor work she is going into body dysmorphic, can’t really see herself as she really appears.

This is a wake up call.
no one is making fun of what she was born w! She looks like the caricature of a human.

  16. Relli80 says:

Please, she is the first to make comments about someone else’s appearance or money situation. Also, a big fan of Marlon?!?!? Sure Jan, name one thing he has done recently. She is just using this for attention because that is what she is good at. She is a terrible person and that’s why she is good for reality tv.

    • K-Peace says:

^^Yes it’s true that Kim is the first one to make fun of other people’s appearance. I haven’t watched RHOA in awhile but I remember her continually making fun of Nene Leakes in a mean-spirited way by calling her “The Moose” just because Nene is tall & big-boned. And that is something that Nene was just born with! The characteristics of Kim’s face that Marlon joked about, were caused by plastic surgery that Kim CHOSE to have done.

  17. Tan says:

And it makes ok for Marlon to make fun at her expense?

Would you say the same thing if it was a black woman at receiving end?

    • pan says:

a black woman who jacked up her face ala lil’ kim? yeah, she gets it in buckets so your comparison yields a zero. kim z intentionally DID this to her face. it’s not shaming, it’s telling her she got a crap surgeon and should ask for her money back.

  18. Veronica S. says:

I’m torn because I get that there’s a broader issue at play here in terms of how women are constantly pressured to look attractive, punished when they aren’t, so with the right resources they can be convinced to do this sort of thing to themselves –

    – but on the other hand…she did do this to herself. She’s a wealthy white woman of adult age. And while she may be a victim of social pressures, that’s not at all comparable to the real violence that gets perpetrated against victims involved in #MeToo. Also, “get educated” has some really awful racial connotations when directed at a black men, so sympathy points lost there, too.

So like…sit down, Kim. But think about the implications of your words a little, too, Wayne.

  19. Lara says:

In the picture of her in the spotty dress I had to do a double take because I thought it was Ivanka Trump

  20. Melanie says:

I think it’s hilarious. Sorry, but she is so plastic.

  21. Zondie says:

I thought the movie White Chicks was funny. There is a scene in that movie where the women (not the Wayans) are in a dressing room and although they are very attractive, they are super critical of their looks. It was funny but also sadly true of how we make women hate themselves.

  22. brutalethyl says:

I was watching something on tv and there was Marlon. He said (and I paraphrase because I can’t remember the exact quote) “Kroy said that shit, but what he was really thinking was damn, I’m glad somebody else finally said something to her about those lips so I didn’t have to.” lol And I think it was Marlon. I was drinking. 😉

  23. Cupcake says:

I love White Chicks! Shout out to Terry Crews!! She’s a charicature. She did not want to look like a normal middle-aged woman and she will never get accused of looking like a normal middle-aged woman so I guess she achieved her goals.

  24. Tanya says:

This woman demonstrates that infantilization that some women possess. Get a grip, girl. You looked like the “woman” in the movie. Don’t like it? Don’t screw up your body.

  25. Rachelina says:

    Truth hurts.

  26. No Doubtful says:

It’s cruel…but she does look terrible. Those lips are tragic.

  27. ladida says:

I have no idea who is this person is or what she puts out into the world, but it’s not appropriate. Mocking someone in a way that highlights their race and/or looks is unkind at best, and racist at worst.

  28. Hotsauceinmybag says:

Honestly tho… the resemblance is uncanny. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  29. Alex says:

hahahahaha totally uncanny, she reminds me to the weird blond puppet looking woman in dinner for schmucks hahahaha

  30. Charlotte says:

How is the movie White Chicks not racist? Turn the tables and there would be outrage if two white guys wore black face to depict black women! It is wrong and disgusting and forgive me if I don’t want to laugh along with the creator of that movie. The double standards on this site are getting ridiculous….

  31. Beer&Crumpets says:

That woman is a friggin moron and a ridiculous person who promotes herself by any means necessary. I don’t really care about her emotional/psychological inner climate, she’s an asshole who made herself into an asshole so when others treat her like the asshole that she is, I don’t feel bad for her. If that makes me a shitty feminist and/or a terrible person, I’m comfortable with that.

  32. Charlotte says:

Just because I think ‘white-face’ is wrong doesn’t mean I think that ‘Black-Face’ is OK!!! We all have to be better. Two wrongs don’t make a right…

  33. Charlotte says:

Oh, and by the by, just because one thing doesn’t happen as often as another doesn’t mean it is alright….
