This video is so incredibly sweet, it’s sort of heartbreaking. Shia LaBeouf was being interviewed by Meredith Vieira on the Today Show (all for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) when she pointed this young woman that Matt Lauer had spoken to outside of the studio. This girl is some sort of Shia-loonie, and she asked Matt if Shia was going to be coming out. Lauer must have invited the girl - named Samantha - inside to meet Shia, because at the end of Meredith’s interview, she asks Shia if he saw the girl. Shia says, “”I like Samantha a lot. She seems like a real special person. I would love to meet her – is she here?” Meredith brings Samantha on camera to meet Shia. Samanth seems very young - I’d put her around sixteen, but Lauer announces that she’s 20. She looks a little like Miley Cyrus, in my opinion.
When Samantha comes out, Shia is so sweet and gentle with her, it’s just incredible. Samantha is overwhelmed when Meredith asks her if she has any questions for Shia. She stutters out “I don’t know what to ask … I’m in shock … what kind of girl are you interested in – honestly, honestly. Just be honest.” Shia answers her, in a flirtatious way, “I don’t, no.” Meredith screams, “He doesn’t have a girlfriend!” While Samantha just says “Oh my God!” Then Shia leans in and asks Samantha, “What are doing for the rest of the day? My day is boring. Samantha says that she’s with her four friends and Shia looks thrilled and says, “Let’s round them up!” People has a little more:
There’s nothing like having Matt Lauer put in a good word for you, which certainly worked for an ardent admirer named Samantha on Thursday as she vied for the attention of Transformers star Shia LaBeouf while she stood in the plaza – talking to Lauer – outside the Today show’s Studio A.
Inside, in front of the cameras, co-host Meredith Vieira informed LaBeouf that there was a young woman outside who “wants you to go out.”
The actor’s response, after having watched Lauer chat with Samantha: “I like Samantha a lot. She seems like a real special person. I would love to meet her – is she here?”
Cue Samantha, coffee in hand, entering the studio. Ever the gentleman, LaBeouf, 23, calls her a sweetheart and laments not having a seat to offer her.
“You look great,” the actor says and asks if she is wearing her “say nice things to Shia outfit” – which the “shocked” young lady admits she is!
“I’ve been planning this all week,” Samantha says, “and I bought this [points to her floral skirt] … I can’t believe this!”

Okay, sometimes I think Shia can be a little creepy and weird with all of the talk about how sexy his mom is, but I give him epic bonus points for being such a cool guy to his fans. It was really obvious to me from this video how Shia has learned to treat his fans with a lot of respect and kindness, and that goes a long way in an industry populated by divas, both male and female. Here’s something else to think about - I bet Shia really did make time to hang out with Samantha and her friends off camera, and probably not in a sleazy way, either. I bet he signed autographs and took pictures with them, and just made their year.

I LOVE Shia! I want to do unspeakable stuff with him. Don’t care about the crazy mom crap. I am pretty sure he doesn’t want to get dirty with his mom! I am completely envious of this “Samantha” girl, whoever she is! Just kidding. He is yummy. I think him and Adam Sandler top my list. I know neither of them are the absolute best looking, but their “personalities” make them hot to me!

wow am feeling a bit envious, not gonna lie. the kid is certainly growing on me. the last time i saw him, he was this extremely annoying little curly top of a brother on even stevens and now…he completely turned me around.
some may not agree but i can see the boy get with kristen stewart for some reason. for such a very young age, they’ve got the smarts, the realness, and determination not all hollywood scenesters have. i feel like those two really should define the good side of young hollywood and not the other cutesy popturds out there. i can actually see them last in the industry and rule it in due time.
p.s. i know some are rolling their eyes with the mere mention of stewart (i would do the same if i didn’t give the girl a chance–ya know look beyond that twilight shenanigan) but she’s got that aura and quality of becoming a genuine actress. just give her time.

Can I marry him yet? Yes, he has demons-but he’s handling them, and the opedius complex is a bit off, but he’s funny, cute smart and look how he treats his fans. He’s worth it.

OMG im so jealous. I am sooo crazy for shia. my bf gets so mad when i tell him to shut up whenever hes on tv. i wish i could meet him, at least once! hes beautiful in his own perfect way! =D

I can’t watch it. I really wish I could, but my crazy brain just wont let me watch it because I will be embarrassed. Is that crazy? Not like “I’d do my mom crazy” but like, “why is that girl sitting in a dark corner staring at me” crazy?
