Was Melania Trump’s white Michael Kors hat some kind of nod to Beyonce, maybe?

President Donald J. Trump welcomes President Emmanuel Macron

I admire the bloggers who completely avoid discussing Melania Trump’s fashion. They’re so strong! Personally, I try to only cover Melania’s fashion when it’s notable or very bad or very funny. This is one of those weeks. The Trumps have been hosting the French president and French first lady for days for an official state visit. Yesterday was the big daytime press conference and White House greeting, and the evening was for the state dinner. The state dinner was completely overshadowed by Melania’s giant white hat during the day, and the hat was overshadowed by typical Bigly shenanigans. First off, The White Hat of Doom: Melania’s entire white ensemble is Michael Kors. She didn’t take the hat off all f-cking day, not even when they were inside. Some of the videos that went viral were… amazing. Here’s Bigly’s baby fist trying to hold Melania’s hand:

Doesn’t it look like he thanks her for finally acquiescing to holding his hand? She also wore the hat so it would be more difficult for him to kiss her.

The hat was very much IN FORMATION.

And here’s the video that made me guffaw:

Here was Bigly trying to hold hands with President Macron, who clearly feels sorry for our senile-traitor president:

And here’s Bigly brushing dandruff off of Macron’s jacket. I can’t.

As for the state dinner, Melania wore custom Chanel. Ivanka Trump and Precious Jared were there too.

    No.

    I wish, but no.

    • Psu doh Nihm says:

It’s like Hostile architecture but with fashion.

      • Snappyfish says:

Love the Hostile Architecture analogy. For a former model Melania seems not to understand fashion. The white was far too stark for the time of year and the day. The hat…ridiculous & not appropriate for the occasion.

Not to be mean & I usually love Chanel. The evening dress was wrong again. Too sparkly, more Met Gala than State Dinner. It is amazing how she keeps gettting it wrong.

    • SNAP says:

So she wants lemonade but is stuck with an orange…

  2. MostlyMegan says:

I get that people want to believe Melania is sending messages through her clothes. She doesn’t’ say anything verbally. She literally and figuratively stands beside her odious husband and yet appears to despise him. I just don’t think the waters run that deep with her. I truly, truly believe she and her stylist thought, “nice hat… Let’s do the hat” – and NOTHING more.

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

      Agreed.

    • Betsy says:

You are probably right. But literally all this woman has is her clothes and her child; it’s not totally insane to assume she’s telegraphing messages as just about every other public dresser in the world seems to do.

    • Becks says:

AGREED. She’s not sending us secret signals via fashion. She’s just not. I think there’s such a focus on that (not just her clothes, but on “WHAT DO HER CLOTHES MEAN”) because there’s not a whole lot else to talk about. But, like you said, the waters just aren’t that deep.

      • imqrious2 says:

I just think after all this public humiliation by Dump, she just wants everyone to “see” she is repulsed. She had to know that the little “hand holding” thing would be videoed and make the rounds. And honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me that the hat was an actual physical “barrier” to keep him at a distance.

She should just learn Morse Code and blink out an SOS lol

    • Merritt says:

      Agreed. She is not deep.

    • naomipaige says:

Agreed! I’m not too sure she has many thoughts!

    • Indiana Joanna says:

She despises and is repulsed by bigly. I don’t see any depth or personality from her either. It’s always someone else who brings out a flicker of smile or humanity in her (the Pope, more recently President Obama).

      The hat is to hide.

      • Christin says:

I don’t get any witty, engaging vibe from her, either. It’s always someone else who brings that to the equation when she’s around.

It was just an ensemble. No “messaging”, other than maybe how can I make a buck when this is finally over. Overpriced watches and oversized hats, anyone?

      • Trillion says:

It’s dual function: to hide and to keep space between her and her grotesque husband.

      • AnnaKist says:

I’m with you, Trillion. I also think she kept the hat on as long as she could for those reasons, but also because hat hair. And hat wiglets. She’d have needed a hairdresser on hand to sort that situation out had she removed it.

    • Lua says:

Agreed. I’d like to think the people who dress her are sending little messages out to us through her wardrobe, though 😛

    • Rhys says:

Dis anyone really thought that she is sending messages? That’s silly. I thought the idea is obviously just for laughs and everyone understands that.

    • Dr. Mrs. The Monarch says:

You’re right. There is nothing deep here. She just wanted some time off from her wig.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I agree. She gets far too much credit for not doing anything. She’s a blank canvas that people project onto .

The headlines on CNN yesterday about her “making her mark” with fashion and the dinner was nauseating. Talk about being celebrated for doing the bare minimum.

    • dilettante says:

The hat is to distract from her recent face lift. Compare photos from the last few months to those of Macron’s visit. And, hasn’t she been MIA??

  3. Becks says:

I like her dress for the state dinner. I don’t usually like her formal fashion but that one was nice. Ivanka looks like a clown or a milkmaid or something though.

I also roll my eyes at the attempts to normalize Melania. The press constantly wants to act like she’s secretly part of the resistance. She’s not. she hates her husband, but honestly I think most people around him don’t like him. Like Melania, they stick around because of what Trump can do for them – money, power, etc.

    • Erinn says:

I think I’d like her dress more without the bottom portion. I’m a sucker for sparkles even when they’re not good ones. I’m also not a hat person, but I don’t loathe the hat. It’s weird that it was on ALL day.

Ivanka looks like she’s going to milkmaid prom. It’s weird. The pattern, fabric and color are very prom. But add in that floral applique and it just makes it even MORE prom.

I agree with you though. I don’t think she likes him at all, but I also don’t think she’s about to rebel or make a break for it. She’s too deep, and she’s had too many benefits at this point. She’ll ride it out like the rest of them. It’s not like he’s a picture of good health, so she’s probably just counting down. But resistance? I think it would take him doing something absolutely off limits to HER to have that happen. If he effs with Barron MAYBE.

      • Christin says:

Add a crinoline, and that dress is 1980s prom.

Anyone who doesn’t know what a crinoline is, should be thankful. It was the 1980s throwback to the 1880s.

    • trumptrickle says:

Ivanka looks like a clown or a milkmaid or something though.

This. I look at that outfit and calliope music starts playing.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Grifter Barbie tries so hard but usually looks and acts ridiculous.

      • Hoping says:

I agree. If I remember well it’s a Rodarte piece and even Kirsten Dunst could not pull it off…

      • Oliviajoy1995 says:

        Ivanka is a dolt.

I actually like Melania Trump. I can’t stand her husband but I do like her. Obama making her smile at that funeral was funny only because I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile. But then I’m reminded she went on national tv and also perpetuated that whole birther movement against Obama. But I still like her.

      • AnnaKist says:

I want to put a ping pong ball in her mouth and cross my fingers for a prize.

I love this story. It’s been a sombre day in Australia, so now that ANZAC day is over, I’m glad of the laughs I’m getting here. I really should get a twitter account. Who should I follow, and why?

      • ORIGINAL T.C. says:

Let’s just be honest here, Ivanka was trying to upstage Melania. She knew Melania would have to wear more somber clothing so she gent all “Spring in France”. I too liked Melania’s outfit. I’m not a fan of hers for staying with a racist, NeoNazi, unethical, corrupt pathological liar though. And no one can convince me that she stays with him for the benefit of her son. It’s like keeping your child around the worst role-model or a mob-boss ever for his own good. Trump corrupts everyone within a 5 mile radius of him and his children come to think Daddy’s way is the way to be. But perhaps she shares some of those values.

      • imqrious2 says:

Original TC: I don’t think the kids necessarily think “Dad’s way is the way to be”. I think they’re parroting more so for the approval (Daddy wasn’t that attentive, except to Daughter-Wife), until they were “old enough to understand business” (as per Ivana). AND they want to stay in the will/trust.

So yeah, they will parrot and support him NOW. Wouldn’t surprise me if some shizz comes out when he dies, and they have their hands on whatever $$ is still actually there. I, as many, believe he’s not worth a fraction of what he says (due to mismanagement and debt owed on properties’ loans). When the kids find out, the shizz will fly lol

    • Kitten says:

I like it too! I also roll my eyes though. So I’m with you on both fronts.

I know I’m one of a small minority here but I generally like Melania’s style. I even loved the absurdly expensive flower jacket that everyone despised.
      *runs and hides*

      • NΞΞNΔ ΖΞΞ says:

ITA… I usually like Melania’s fashion choices and think she looks great. She has an eye for sophisticated, well-proportioned style and wears it like a model. As an aging fashion addict, I appreciate the effort… even if I reject nearly everything else that she and her family represent.

      • Veronica S. says:

I think she actually has a pretty decent sense of style, myself. She has the occasional misstep, but she has model proportions for the most part, so the high end clothing usually works for her. But then, having money and not much else to do leaves a lot of time for fashion.

(I do, however, think wearing a hat inside is a bit of a social faux pas. I was always told to take it off indoors.)

      • Betsy says:

I generally like it, too, vulva sleeves aside. I actually like the hat, but the dinner dress is just very blah.

    • Darla says:

What IS Ivanka wearing? It looks like a shower curtain.

  4. RBC says:

That dress Ivanka is wearing is very “unique”…..

    • Betsy says:

1960 prom at a rural high school “unique.”

And she looks… different. Did someone get a refresh?

    • Salted Watermelon says:

My first thought was, “Oh, Ivanka… NO.”

    • hezzer19 says:

And according to the Daily Fail it cost almost $16,000!!!

      • trumptrickle says:

Must come from the same company that sold Ben Carson that table set. Thanks taxpayers!

    • Swack says:

      It’s fugly.

    • Tate says:

      You are kind.

    • Khadija says:

I think someone (maybe Dakota Johnson?) wore that dress to an event or in a photoshoot some time last year but I can’t seem to find the specifics via a quick google.

      • Hoping says:

Kirsten Dunst, it’s a Rodarte dress.

      • GreenBunny says:

It reminds me of the dress Kate Hudson wore recently. Is that what you’re thinking about?

      • Khadija says:

@Hoping – yes! that’s the one. She’s loyal to the brand but that was a leap too far even for her.

@GreenBunny – yes, it does remind me of a lot of her style of outfits too – it was between Dakota Johnson and Kate Hudson in my mind, even though it was Kirsten Dunst! I think I just had a lot of frou-frou type dresses and fashionista actresses mixed up in my head.

      • lautie says:

yes @Hoping, it soooo much reminds me of Kate Hudson’s dress. Like Khadija i kept thinking, who was it?? cos i remember i saw the pic on celebitchy

    • HK9 says:

She looks like a moldy cupcake.

    • KLO says:

Hmm, I must be crazy then but I actually really like Ivankas dress, I think it is lovely. I also liked Melanias white hat-outfit and her silver sparkly dress.

The outfits are not the problem here.

  5. Eleonor says:

Barbie Ivanka goes to state dinner.

    • wood dragon says:

Smile now, Ivanka, you’ll be lucky if you escape some form of indictment.

    • Esmom says:

Exactly. She clearly loves playing the role of legit advisor/diplomat/human.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Exactly, EsMom. She appropriates everything from other designers, the work and words of genuinely accomplished people, and tries to dress the part with a lab coat. The only thing that she really gets is a puffy pout as she emulates others because it’s a good marketing/photo op. She is so disturbingly fraudulent in how she does not understand that authentic accomplishment takes decades.

      • Esmom says:

IJ, Yes. It’s all dress up for her and all the time in the world give her any authenticity. Fifty years from now she’ll be the same fraud.

      • Lightpurple says:

While demonstrating rudeness every chance she can get. Last week, addressing a room full of strangers as “tu” instead of “ustedes” in Peru. This week tweeting “Bonne Nuit” to total strangers with daylight shining all around her. Sure, Nagini, thanks for wishing us all a good night sleep.

  6. Onerous says:

That video with the hand holding. She tells him to stop and he keeps right on. He’s so disgusting!

I also think it’s interesting that she continues to try and avoid holding his hand in public when she knows it’s going to blow up in the media. Like – she cares enough to stay but not enough to fully play along? The whole mess is confusing to me.

    • KLO says:

      nothing confusing – hehe.

she probably “cares enough to stay but not enough to fully play along”, just as you said.

    • Morgan says:

It confuses me, too. She clearly hates him and can’t even pretend not to for a couple of minutes in public. But I guess this is another thing they get a pass on – the Obamas would’ve been ripped apart by conservative media, but as long as Trump is married on paper that’s good enough for the same people who believe against all evidence that he’s a pious Christian.

    • Pamela says:

I am divided on Melania. Can’t say I feel bad for her…the “birther” crap made that impossible.

But I don’t think she stays 100% voluntarily. I think Trump has threatened her. He is an asshat, but he is still the POTUS and extremely wealthy. I think she is afraid for her parents and especially her son. Whether Trump could really do anything to take her son from her or not…if he told her that he would, I don’t think she would risk it. Look at the things he HAS done and gotten away with, it the most precious thing to me was being threatened by Trump, *I* wouldn’t take that chance either.

She clearly loathes him, he knows it. And yet there she is.

      • Esmom says:

I don’t think it’s fear that keeps her with him. I think their arrangement is 100% financial and she can’t break the contract now no matter how much she despises him. Hopefully she doesn’t get paid according to how well she can act like a happy wife.

  7. Mamasan says:

That title photo is creepy. No eyes. 😳

  8. Loopy says:

The Beyonce formation means had me rolling…they have redone the entire song . Lmao

  9. Beth says:

Melania? Are you somewhere under that big, ugly hat?

  10. Millennial says:

Well, I’ll be nice for a minute, i like both of her outfits.

I really do not understand why Macron was here pandering to Trump. Even the Queen avoids him.

    • Swack says:

Because according to some articles I’ve read, Macron thinks he can make France great again by cozing up to Trump.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

I just can’t believe Macron or any other world leader (including Netenyahu) thinks drump is anything but a buffoon, a moron, an idiot. However, they need the US and to be on board with their agendas. I think Macron is an expert at flattery and hasn’t done anything that hurts drump’s infantile ego.

      • Esmom says:

IJ, yes exactly. Macron is figuratively holding his nose as he deals with Trump, without a doubt.

      • Lightpurple says:

I don’t see Macron as cozying up to Trump so much as exploiting him. Macron, Abe and several others have figured out that Trump will pretty much give up everything for a little flattery. Their facial expressions openly mock him.

      • magnoliarose says:

        @IndianaJ

Netanyahu is a raging bigoted soulless corrupt creature, so of course, he likes the whipped salmon molded Teletubby that is 45.

I really don’t understand how any woman can climb into bed with him. Over and over again I have tried to find the breaking point a woman must have but I can’t. I know money and everything, but I wouldn’t even go near him for 5 million in an offshore account. That would barely cover the around clock therapeutic companion I would need for the rest of my life or the vodka and weed I would need to make it through the day.

      • The Recluse says:

        Me too, magnoliarose! Me too.
There isn’t money enough in the world to erase such a horrible, nauseating memory from my mind.

    • Div says:

Macron’s poll numbers are terrible. To be fair, he’s doing slightly better than Sarkozy and Hollande were at this point in his presidency but that’s not saying much.

There are issues with the economy, social cuts, etc. and strikes. My guess is that Macron figures kissing Trump’s ass, despite the bad optics, may be worth it for trade deals, etc. Also, no one wants us to pull out of the Iran deal and apparently Macron is trying to convince him to keep it. Being credited with convincing Trump to stay in the deal would be good optics.

      • Kitten says:

Yeah but keep in mind that French people are a really tough crowd. It would probably be the same level of backlash if they had say, Trudeau, whereas Trudeau is almost lionized in a country like Canada. I’m not blaming the French at all, just saying that they have a history of being discontented with their leaders. Hey, better than being cool with a sh*tty president, right? I honestly wish we had the same “problem”…

      • Div says:

        @Kitten
Good point and yeah, we’d probably benefit from being so exacting/a tougher crowd with our leaders.

And again, to be fair even my far left cousin who isn’t fond of Macron at all admits that the rail system needs to be reformed (something he’s doing which is getting backlash).

      • Amelie says:

The French are never happy with their President. I honestly can’t remember a French President that ever had good poll numbers. Maybe Mitterand did but I don’t remember his presidency as I was a baby. Maybe Chirac?? But I was a kid and didn’t pay attention.

Honestly if somehow Barack Obama could be the President of France (and the French WORSHIP Obama) he would probably do terrible too.

      • Parigo says:

Completely agree with Kitten. It’s a tough crowd. As for the current strikes I think a majority of French are for the reforms. We have the same strikes every year, it’s really nothing new.

    • LP says:

I’m thinking it’s because of the Iran deal. The best thing for the free world is for the US to honor it, and Macron knows that. He beat Le Pen in the election, France’s own Trump. He knows what’s at stake.

  11. Merritt says:

Those pictures of Macron and Trump are disturbing. Especially when we know that Macron is married to a woman who groomed him for abuse as a teen.

  12. Va Va Kaboom says:

The whole bit about Macron’s “dandruff “ was such a ham-fisted powerplay I literally cringed watching it.

    • Betsy says:

It really was embarrassing, the kind of move someone who thinks they’re slick pulls.

    • aang says:

Ugh….I wish Macron had reached over and brushed cheeto dust off his lapel, or adjusted his comb over. Or just punched him in the nose.

    • Indiana Joanna says:

That gesture was horrible. I hate drump and his seriously pathetic need to demean other.

    • Lucy2 says:

That was horrificly embarrassing. No adult should behave that way, let alone someone who supposedly a leader.

  13. SM says:

Honestly, Donald trying to catch Melania’s hand is like watching someone who is afraid of cats trying to tame a tigger

  14. Betsy says:

This supports my thought that Melania is not in a healthy or safe marriage. Hot take, I know, with Donnie Doom as her other half, but I cannot imagine the forces that are keeping her there.

    • Kitten says:

I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying that it’s easier for me to believe that she hates Trump but has agreed to stay with him for the duration of his Presidency to preserve his image. It just seems more likely to me that they have a mutually agreed upon monetary arrangement for the sake of optics. She probably agreed not just for the money, but for Barron and to avoid the stress, embarrassment, and public scrutiny of divorcing the POTUS during his term.

      • KLO says:

@Kitten i agree, the whole thing is for Barron to have a stable childhood. I think she IS a very devoted mother. Once he is grown up, I think she will be gone. It might be in part because she sees how her husband has pretty much erased Tiffany from her life after divorcing Marla Maples.
Melania has stated many times how close she is with her family members (parents, cousins etc). So i don`t think she is as lonely as she seems.

      • lightpurple says:

Melania’s parents have been living with them. Yes, they were in the White House for a while but they may have moved somewhere else nearby. Notice Barron is NEVER seen, not even in casual pictures of him roaming around the grounds? I think he’s boarding at school.

      • Betsy says:

It’s definitely possible, but you’ve undoubtedly heard the worst accusations of Donald’s behavior toward underage girls, you’ve heard he raped Ivana, he had Stormy threatened, he loves throwing out immigrants… I don’t think it’s a simple thing. I don’t think she’s staying for the money, which she must realize is smoke and mirrors and likely to be seized at some point…

Or she could just be staying for Barron. I literally don’t know.

      • Marianne says:

        @ Kitten. Yes. Totally agree.

    • Veronica S. says:

Oh, he’s an absolutely garbage human being, and I have no doubt being married to him is miserable. I just think that his reputation as a shitty husband and father was well known by the time she ran into him, so that’s her own fault for buying into it for the money.

      • Betsy says:

How many women think it will be different this time, with them? She may just be a gold digger, and she certainly knew he was a cheater, but I doubt she understood the depths of his depravity, I don’t think Ivana’s rape story had been published yet… and I know you aren’t saying this, but I keep reading the “marry for money, earn every penny” and if she is an abused woman, that’s incredibly insensitive and cruel.

      • Veronica S. says:

The accusations of rape came out in court in 1989. That’s sixteen years before she married him, and his affair with Marla Maples, treatment of his daughter Tiffany, and his accusations of racial discrimination by the federal government all occurred before she met him. In fact, she has stated that he was seeing another woman when they first encountered each other. She knew all of this…and she married him anyway. Then she brought a child into the world by him. She backed his birther movement against a black president in the late 2000s. She chose to downplay his potential abuses of other women during the election. She’s not an impoverished woman weighed down by the care of five children lacking options and locked in the White House. We’ve seen her live separately from him for several months when he first moved into office. She could very well leave him if she wanted to, and perhaps now more than ever because he’s under the national spotlight.

I don’t believe she deserves to be abused, and if she comes out with actual accusations against him, I will support her decision to leave him, and she will have my sympathy. I do, however, think that she’s an asshole. She didn’t have a problem singing his praises or supporting him when it benefited her financially. It only became a visible, public issue when he became president.

      • Betsy says:

@Veronica S. – she may well be just an anus, but if she is an abused spouse, she was no less so before. She may believe in that birther mess, or she may have been compelled against her will to promulgate those points, too.

And Ivana’s rape story was one of those ones that came out, landed, and disappeared like it had never been spoken of. I’m not sure that Melania knew of it, and again, how many women think it will be different with them?

      • magnoliarose says:

I have no sympathy for Melania. She’s not a victim by any stretch. She is a street smart and world smart in a way that is culturally different. Melania sees dollar signs when she looks at 45 and nothing else. The woman is hard inside and out.
And she is definitely wearing the hat on purpose. She’s not an academic and is shallow, but she is plenty wise about how she portrays herself in public.

      • Veronica S. says:

Her husband was a public figure whose past was easily dug up on the Internet. If she didn’t know, it’s because she didn’t want to. Don’t infantilize her. Melania was not a naive teenage girl getting thrown into a situation beyond her control. She was 28 years old when she met him. She was with him for seven years before they married, more than enough time to understand who he is. She is not responsible for his abuse if there is any, but she is responsible for choosing to ignore all of the giant red flags that existed before she married him. The fact that he was racist, adulterous trash was well known even if the abuse accusations flew under the radar.

  15. Kitty says:

I bet she wore it to make it more difficult for trump to kiss her

  16. Roxane says:

Lmao. Leave Beyoncé out of this mess.

  17. kate says:

Don’t drag Beyonce’s name into this racist white woman’s mess please.

    • Lucy2 says:

      Thank you!
I highly doubt Mrs. Where’s His Birth Certificate there is doing a nod to Beyoncé.

  18. OriginalLala says:

Macron and his wife look so pained to be there!

    • Chrissy says:

Well Macron himself has a mission, to keep the Iran Nuclear Deal afloat and he is smart enough to know that a little flattery goes a long way with the Orange Menace, so he does what he has to. I find it very amusing though, that when they are together with all their touchy-feely stuff, it looks like he’s leading his senile old uncle by the hand. I feel bad for Mrs Macron, she looks incredibly uncomfortable and would rather be anywhere else.

      • OriginalLala says:

their faces and body language are painful to watch. They (esp Ms Macron) do not look like they are happy. at. all.

      • Beth says:

All that friendly touching went too far and it was obvious Macron was doing it to flatter the egomaniac who loves to be admired and flattered. That was embarrassing to watch. I thought Trump was a germaphobe, but I guess he doesn’t mind French germs. Wiping away dandruff, kissing, hugging, shaking hands nonstop aren’t things a real germaphobe would do

      • whatWHAT? says:

he’s no germaphobe. I think he uses that as an excuse to NOT do whatever it is at the time he doesn’t want to do.

a germaphobe doesn’t usually have unprotected sex with a sex worker.

  19. Chrissy says:

I kind of think that the less said about Melania and her dress sense, the better. After all, since she does so little as First Lady, she must spend all her time pampering herself and shopping for said clothes anyway. Her clothes don’t really matter, she’s just playing dress-up and stays with Orange Turd for the lifestyle she gets out of the arrangement. She’s a bomb as First Lady and she doesn’t care.

    • Kitten says:

Agreed. She doesn’t even try and she doesn’t have to in order to receive reverence and respect from The Deplorables.

  20. grabbyhands says:

I think that is giving her waaaaaay too much credit. I think she just picks something, figured that at least she looks nice and the thought process stops there.

Macron must be desperate indeed to let himself be so publicly humiliated by 45’s pathetic little power plays.

    • Sofija says:

Here in Europe I read so many reports that were saying that Macron is there to try to convice Trump to stay in Iran Deal. So he will do whatever he needs to do I guess…

  21. Kittylouise says:

Kate Hudson wore a similar version of Ivanka’s hideous frock to an award ceremony this year (or late last year). It wasn’t well received!

  22. Canadi-Anne says:

In the hand-holding video, watch her face instead of her hand. Her disgust is palpable. She appears to say, “Stop,” while he persists on trying to clasp her hand. Once he gets her hand in his, he seems to say, “Yeah.” She has truly sold her soul.

  23. Chef Grace says:

The all white ensemble means OMG HELP I SURRENDER.
The Hamburgler in chief trying desperately to find someone, anyone, to hold his tiny little hands.
I use to sit and ponder what the world thinks of us with our Twitter-pated Shitler reality show prez. Now I just eat, drink and pray a lot.

  24. Eric says:

Melania is signaling to Mueller and other prosecutors that she is a “white hat,” especially after it’s plain to see that Emperor Zero not only lied to the FBI about how many nights he spent in Moscow (Nov 8-10 2013), but lied to the FBI DIRECTOR!

He really is a fucking moron; thanks Rex Tillerson for your best contribution to this “administration.”

  25. Lizzie says:

i very seriously doubt melania is familiar with the Beyonce catalog and has ever heard or seen the video for formation. i’ll say its a shame she’s the one wearing (she’s trash) it b/c that white suit is GORGEOUS.

  26. Truthie says:

The white suit is great… but Michelle Pfeiffer wore it first in Scarface.

    • lightpurple says:

Right? That suit is gorgeous, one of the best things she has worn, but her style seems to be straight out of the 1980s, like she is living in an episode of Dynasty.

      • Truthie says:

You know it. I could just see Joan Collins wearing this to storm around in Dynasty, without changing a stitch. It’s one of her best looks, but is she trying to out fashion the French president & his wife? “You may have Paris & the legendary couture houses but I can bring the fashion too!” *throws down an 80s power suit from Scarface/Dynasty*

  27. Shoshana says:

Melanie looks gorgeous regardless of which party you vote for. She looks IMPECCABLE.

    • Beth says:

I loved her white suit, but that ginormous hat was distracting and ruined her awesome outfit. Her dress last night was very pretty, but I couldn’t get that ridiculous hat off my mind. If she had left the hat in the closet, she would’ve looked excellent all day

    • No Doubtful says:

Impeccable? Meh.. Pretty on the outside, but ugly on the inside.

  28. Really says:

That suit fits her so well.

  29. Jayna says:

I had to laugh the other day. Brigitte Macron loves her short dresses right above the knee. She’s petite, so that length suits her. So what did Melania wear the other day when they were all together? A shorter dress than Brigette and spiky heels. It was the black cape dress. I have to say Melania has fabulous legs. But I did not like the cape dress.

The silver gown was very elegant on her. She looked pretty.

What was Ivanka thinking with that pink gown with ruffles? Her face looked odd, also.

I don’t like the white hat with the white suit. It feels too much. Melania does wear clothes well, though, even when I don’t like the clothes.

    • Kitten says:

Ivanka’s face is probably just puffy from crying into her pillow every night over the fact that she and Kush are going to jail.

I wasn’t crazy about the black cape dress either but it wasn’t the worst I’ve seen. She seems to really favor simple, clean lines. I think generally, that style works really well on her.

  30. IsaidwhatIsaid says:

I think she looks really nice in both outfits.

  31. Q T Hush says:

Hum, maybe Melania can get one for Emperor Zero since both of them seem to have bigly issues with their hair. M needs to throw in some extensions to bulk up her baby fine, thin, straight hair. Also enough of the Mod Squad ie Peggy Lipton, long hair. Time to cut those scraggly and split ends. Melania is as vacuous as the K-trash Klan and cares only for materialistic pleasures which the orange Anus Mouth provides her with. This still water doesn’t run deep.

  32. Chloeee says:

I hate to admit this but I love the suit/hat. Maybe a little out of place with the hat for this event but still. It fit her to a T and looked good.

  33. JRenee says:

Melania may not say much with her clothes, but I think sometimes it’s the stylist who’s projecting. Think about the timing of her wearing the pussy bow blouse.
When I see the Kushners at these events, I keep wondering how did we get here. They, nor 45, have no business near the highest office in the land.
    And her dress is awful.

  34. Veronica S. says:

What’s with the tulle hem on the sequined dress? It brings down the whole look. It would be a decent one to look at otherwise.

I honestly can’t imagine wasting this much of my life on somebody I despised. I’ll never get it.

  35. KiddV says:

I like the suit, the hat is a bit much. Is this what she wore when they were planting trees? I’d wear a hat if I were standing in the sun for that, too.

    Love the evening dress.

You all have no idea how it pains me to like anything Trump related, even if it’s just Melania. LOL

Ivanka looks ridiculous. I like the rural prom analogy from up above.

  36. No Doubtful says:

Beyonce did it better. Just sayin.

The hand holding thing was hilarious. It is clear that she cannot stand him. It’s bizarre to choose a life of unhappiness just for money.

  37. Abby says:

I actually really like Melania’s outfit. The Beyonce Formation resemblance is so strong though.

SO CRINGEY watching all these videos! Surely by now she knows the media will pick apart her every move and diss of her husband? It’s so incredibly apparent she can’t stand him.

    I miss the Obamas.

  38. otaku fairy says:

    Hate her. Love the outfit.

  39. Amelie says:

Ivanka looks like she’s wearing a weird version of a tutu.

While I am so conflicted about how I feel about Melania, her outfit here is very fierce and looks amazing. Brigitte looks great too though she looks like she’d rather be anywhere but there.

I understand why Macron plays nice with Trump. He is trolling him at the same time as flattering him (the “Make Our Planet Great Again” initiative being a big one in response to Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris Agreement) and understand why it is beneficial to stay on Trump’s good side. However I can’t imagine this is doing anything for his poll numbers in France and it’s incredibly obvious what he is doing but it will be interesting to see where the heck this goes. Maybe he can convince Trump to resign!!

    • Hazel says:

I don’t understand the handholding thing. What past president of the US ever did that with other leaders? Why did Macron put up with it?

      • Lightpurple says:

Macron and several others have figured out that if they tolerate this stuff from Trump, it knocks him off guard and they can exploit his naïveté and stupidity when it really matters

      • magnoliarose says:

He is not well. Seriously it was excruciating to watch, and I thought they would collapse into a kissy pile at any time or 45 would pull Macron onto his lap for a warm fuzzy.

  40. bella says:

I am an unabashedly hat lover, and the protocol about woman wearing hats inside–is a do. Men, on the other hand, at a dinner table, men are supposed to take the hat off, women do not.

  41. Citresse says:

I could see the look of resistance on Melania’s face turn to resignation when she finally held hands with Trump. She looked good in the white outfit and her hat looked beautiful.
Melania probably has threatened a few times to leave the White House. It’s reminding me of the last tour of Charles and Diana in S. Korea. Melania, like Diana, couldn’t stand to be anywhere near her husband.

  42. LittlefishMom says:

    It’s a no from me.

  43. madonami says:

I really don’t give a sh*t what messages she’s trying to telegraph, if any, and I doubt there are any. If she wants to send a GD message, she can divorce his arse, schedule as many interviews with Mueller as he wants, and spend the rest of her life working her arse off for various good causes to TRY to make up for what SHE HATH HELPED WROUGHT.

F-ck Trump. All of them. F-ck Melania. And f-ck Michael Kors and Chanel too, assuming these are custom. And f-ck her stupid hat and constant scowl. B-tch, if you don’t like it, give up the f-cking credit card and get lost.

  44. madonami says:

Also. As far as the Trump women go, this is what they came for. This is ALL they came for. Dress Up & Fancy Party Time! They thought this was going to be one big years-long pap stroll. And that’s IT. Work? LOL. Integrity/principles? F-ck no.

Look at Ivanka. She’s THRILLED about going to a fancy party, wearing a fancy dress and having the world see it. The ONLY thing Melania puts any real effort into as “first lady” is her clothes.

    Cyberbullying. SMGDH.

    F-CK. THEM. ALL.

    FOREVER.

  45. phatypopo says:

It’s clearly an homage to the departure of Scandal. Unfortunately I don’t think Olivia Pope would appreciate Melania donning the “white hat.”

  46. Severin88 says:

F*ck her and that hat she rode in on. All I see is a birther with not much of a gag reflex. 🤷‍♀️

  47. lobbit says:

    Yeah…no. Definitely not.

  48. Amber says:

I would laugh my ass off this post if it wasn’t so sad

  49. Dee says:

I hate to be on the defense here, but Melania is giving off the same vibe she’s always given off. Cold, closed, uninterested. They never really did PDA and she was never this like smiley go lucky person. I think this is just her. Nothing much else to it. I like the outfit minus the hat. I like her silver dress. I like almost everything she wears, truthfully. Her shoe game is on point.

    • liriel says:

This! I totally agree. To be honest I don’t even know what her teeth look like so it probably means she’s not the smiling in public type. Yeah, her shoe game is on point and I too like almost everything she wears. It’s kind of crazy how good her stylist is. One of the best I’ve seen, that’s for sure. I’ll always admit that. If she wasn’t married to trump she’d be on every single best dressed list for sure and if she was a democrat or in the BRR she’d be a style icon.

  50. HannahF says:

My problem with Melania is with her actions/lack thereof as opposed to her clothes or staying with Trump. As First Lady Melania has the ability to endorse a cause and help its growth. Most First Ladies have done so. After her death there was much talk about Barbara Bush’s work with literacy. Nancy Reagan had Just Say No, Rosalynn Carter worked on behalf of mental health issues. For Michelle Obama it was childhood obesity. And it’s not just the modern day First Ladies who engaged in these activities-most have done so.

At first glance of the first pic I saw of Ivanka, I wondered what Miley Cyrus was doing with Jared. (Not the pic above–something from the DM yesterday)

  51. why? says:

Melanie wore a white hat and the press lost their minds. This is why no one should buy into those stories that Melanie is miserable or unhappy in the WH. She is just as unkind and self-centered as her husband.

  52. liriel says:

I can not like her but I love how she looked all day. The evening look is also amazing! BRR take notice, that’s a good job of a stylist!

  53. Patty says:

Well Macron totally Punked Trump during his Congressional address. Trump is such a narcissist it only takes a little flattery to influence him. That’s what Putin has exploited so well. Compared to just about every other major world leader; DT is a lightweight. It’s sad really.

    • Claire says:

The biggest lightweight is Trudeau. He’s a joke! I think Melania looks great. Best I’ve seen her in a long while.

  54. Lisa says:

    Elvira Hancock!

  55. madonami says:

    p.s. #IfHillaryHad

Can you EVEN IMAGINE the total meltdown the Fox-iverse would be having if this was HRC and Bill, or Barack and Michelle?

  56. Shine on says:

The region where Melania is from has only exported genocide, ethnic cleansing & death squads. I highly doubt Beyoncé or anyone her shade was getting a sign.
The Beyoncé worship here comes off disingenuous and much too Lainey.

FFS, it’s a lovely hat on an ugly regime.

    • Sofija says:

O really? I live in that region…but please do educate me about that region? OMG you people really do believe that she escaped to freedom of USA from some poor and lost country

  57. HollyGo says:

My god he has some strange hand issues.

I often wonder if the whole Melania persona is another play to his so-called base. Remember, they don’t really care that he behaves badly. But they would have some expectations of her – and her reactions to a husband who cheated. Because we’re all supposed to believe she’s only hearing of these things like Stormy Daniels as we do. So not only would some frostiness be expected by women supporters, the men can then also feel sorry for Trump for her being cold to him.

  58. Ettig says:

At last Melania has a stylist who dresses her in modern clothes. But what was Ivanka thinking?

  59. Chelle says:

Why is Ivanka there? Their family dynamic is so bizarre.

  60. Mar says:

Why do I love this outfit ???? It’s just so Dynasty and awesome!!!!

  61. CairinaCat says:

Nope, it wasn’t. It was white. And Melania wears this hat not in the same way Bey wears hers. Bey looks strong rebel and threatening and Queen: And her hair supports that. Some native Americans did wear their hair in two pigtails and sometimes they would even wear some kind of felt hat. Melania just like some trying-to-be-sexy by shading my forehead white lady in white and her hat keeps her hair out of her face.
