Blake Shelton tried to pretend his bitchy ‘karma’ tweet wasn’t about Miranda Lambert

48th Annual CMA Awards - Arrivals

Miranda Lambert “homewrecked” another married man’s marriage. Miranda’s new boyfriend is Evan Felker, who was a married man when they began their relationship in February. Miranda was in a relationship too, with Anderson East. Anderson dumped her pretty quickly when he learned about Evan, and Evan’s wife apparently filed for divorce around the same time. The story just came out last week. I believe the story would have scandalous enough without Blake Shelton – Miranda’s ex-husband – chiming in. But Blake is still damaged from whatever Miranda did to him (she apparently cheated on him A LOT), so he tweeted this:

The tweet came on the heels of the confirmation that Miranda and Evan are together now, so people knew what it was about. Blake didn’t have to directly tweet @ them. They knew. We knew. The guy Miranda was dating when she and then-married Blake Shelton first got together knew too – Jeff Allen blasted Blake in some now-deleted tweets where he called Blake an “arrogant S.O.B.” and pointed out Blake’s own infidelity. So now that Blake has thrown himself into Miranda’s drama, what does he have to say for himself?

After seemingly tweeting about his ex-wife Miranda Lambert’s relationship drama, Blake Shelton is now staying mum. The country music singer, 41, tweeted about “karma” last week following the news that Lambert is dating married musician Evan Felker, and fans immediately speculated he was calling out the “Tin Man” singer.

“It was a personal thing that’s in a small circle of my people and that’s why it was written the way it was, and then people took it and make it into what they want to make it into, which I don’t want any part of that,” Shelton told Extra on Monday when asked directly about his tweet. “But at the same time, I can’t help but to think it’s funny how these fires get lit and it takes off and I don’t have time to care. That’s why I’ve kind of moved on.”

Shelton spoke to Entertainment Tonight about his tweet as well and said it wasn’t fully intended for his fans to understand.

“If it was meant for people to know exactly what it meant, it wouldn’t have been so cryptic,” he told the outlet during a Facebook Live interview. “But I can tell you it’s been, actually, very entertaining to watch the world run with it and assume what they think it’s about,” he continued.

Shelton said most guesses as to what his tweet was about were not entirely correct, adding, “I’ll say this, people are way off the mark. But I don’t have time to worry about it.”

Sometimes, people are like “Blake is such a good ol’ boy, he’ll never be LA savvy!” But… he’s trying to be LA-savvy. He’s trying to play it off, like he didn’t jump into his ex-wife’s drama. He’s trying to “aw shucks” his way out of being called out for his hypocrisy. What’s interesting is that I suspect Blake will be asked these harder questions (if you want to call them that) while Miranda will get to skate. Interestingly enough, the second half of this People Magazine article included some interesting details about Miranda and Evan’s relationship:

While Blake Shelton demurred on who or what he was exactly tweeting about, multiple sources previously confirmed to PEOPLE it was indeed about the 30-time ACM award winner. One Shelton insider says he feels “vindicated” after news broke that Lambert was dating the Turnpike Troubadours frontman, who filed for divorce from his estranged wife Staci Nelson two weeks after meeting Lambert for the first time in person.

According to another source close to the estranged spouses, Lambert and Felker, both 34, connected via text message before his band opened for the country superstar during her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour for three dates in early February. Lambert’s split from former boyfriend Anderson East was made public in early April.

“They had never met and she had started texting him about looking forward to playing together and getting to know each other and maybe they could write because she really liked his writing sort of thing,” the source said. “It started very much about work. He was completely thrilled. By the time he was leaving for tour, it had become a lot flirtier.”

The source continued, saying Lambert and Felker got closer in the three-day tour they were on. When Felker was supposed to return home to Nelson in Oklahoma, he allegedly skipped his flight, telling Nelson via email, “I’m not coming home this week,” according to the source.

I’m not even joking anymore: Miranda Lambert is some kind of sorceress. She was with Evan Felker for THREE DAYS and he left his wife. That’s not just “an affair” or “fooling around.” Evan was ready to throw away his marriage after a matter of days with Miranda. As for Blake… yes, of course the f–king tweet was about Miranda. It’s not that f–king deep.

These people need to stop Boot Scootin’ their loins over to other peoples husbands and wives.

  2. Lilly says:

    Oh piss off, Blake.

  3. Jag says:

Just shut up, Turtle Killer and Cheater Blake.

    • Ann says:

He is a turtle killer! People don’t bring it up enough. Ever since I read that years ago I have not like him. He gleefully runs over turtles for fun. I hope every woman he gets with cheats on him. Come on Gwen, do it for the turtles!

    • Eggsbenedict says:

Was it ever confirmed that he ran over actual turtles? Where I live we call the circular bumps used to mark lanes “turtles”. They’re not, they’re road markers. There have been times, especially when I first got my license, where I purposefully ran over the “turtles” to see if I could drive perfectly on the line. No actual animals were harmed. Was he making a joke about that or is he actually going out of his way to hit actual turtles? Ones a rude joke and the other is sadistic so I’m curious if Blake ever clarified that tweet?

      • Jag says:

After doing some research, apparently it was a bad joke that when he was questioned about, he was rude in his replies. So reading about the “joke” and then him being a jerk afterward, I believed it. I can’t edit my original statement, so hopefully people will read these posts, too.

Thank you, Eggsbenedict, for making me take a closer look.

    Own it, dude.

  5. Cate says:

That first picture was a really good look for Miranda.
Blake, if you’re going to be a petty jack@ss then at least stand by it. He’s in his 40’s. This would be embarrassing behavior from someone half his age. It’s pathetic for him.

  6. lucy2 says:

“I don’t have time to worry about it but I’m going to stop and talk to a bunch of media outlets about it and try to convince everyone I was talking about some unrelated inside joke because oh shit people remembered I was a cheater too and now that karma comment is coming back to bit me in the ass so I’d better make up a lame story about it.”

  7. Bridget says:

    Sure, Jan.

    • Christina says:

Bridget, you win!, lol!!! Blake is a misogynistic idiot. You got played by a woman, dude. Own it.

  8. justcrimmles says:

Sure it wasn’t. And we believe you!

    😉😉😉

  9. Clare says:

Jesus, this guy is so pathetic. I almost feel bad for him.

Only known to a ‘small circle of friends’? Then why the F was it in your public twitter account?

  10. Kitty says:

I’m sure Blake knows all about karma…he got some of his own when Miranda cheated on him while they were married

  11. Neelyo says:

Can’t stand this beady eyed homophobe. Go take a seat with your melting candle girlfriend and STFU.

    • brutalethyl says:

IKR? He looks like some pissed off Chihuahua and her boobs are bigger than her face. I don’t see what’s special about either one of them. Sexiest man alive? On what planet?

  12. Mia4s says:

Boy he sucks at the shade game. No one was talking about his own nonsense until he threw stones. Just stay quiet man, she needs no help looking like a garbage person. And the new guy is clearly trash too. What a charming bunch!

  13. Lady D says:

Love how they casually toss out the “30-time ACM winner” I don’t know if 30 awards is mediocre or not in the country music world, but to me a 30-time winner is kind of amazing.
That is some bruise on the back of his hand in the second pic. It looks like someone took a bat to his hand. Did someone get caught with their fingers in the wrong cookie jar?
Blake and Jessica Simpson’s husband could be brothers.

    • Bridget says:

      I’m pretty sure that’s lighting.

And if the Carrie Underwood mess has taught us anything, it’s that it’s wrong to speculate on people’s injuries and what might have caused them pain.

    • Amanda says:

      It’s a shadow, not a bruise

  14. Nicole says:

I don’t believe that. Tweeting an “inside joke” when you have millions of followers doesn’t make sense. He tried to be slick and people called him out for his own messy drama. You’re not that smart sir

  15. No Doubtful says:

Damage control….and NOBODY but his dumb fans are buying it.

  16. Ks says:

Blake doesn’t have time to care but he talks about it during an interview. Okay 🤨.

Evan was clearly done with that marriage. Anyone willing to leave a marriage so quickly has been done, and is looking for an escape. Very sad.
