I don’t want to sound stupid, but I honestly don’t understand how it’s not possible given the fact that we KNOW Russia interfered. It was not a valid election and he is not a real president! 😒
There’s no provision in the Constitution for do-over elections. For presidential elections, the failsafe is supposed to be the electoral college. Even if there was massive fraud and rigging of the popular vote, the electoral college members (electors) still voted the way that they voted, and no one is seriously suggesting that the votes of the electors were miscounted, as they’re all a matter of public record. If a president takes office off the back of assorted election-related crimes, you have to impeach, go through the succession process, and then hold the next presidential election as scheduled.
It all sucks and is enraging, but there’s no legal mechanism to simply nullify the result of the 2016 election even if the result came about through cheating. We have to throw the cheaters out, fix the system, and do better. This in-between period feels like dystopian insanity, though.
To provide comfort….can you IMAGINE the commercials the next democratic presidential candidate will be able to use? There is just so much material available.

The only thing that they’re covering right now are the three NK hostages that were released (two captured under Trump’s watch) and little-to-no coverage of Essential Consultants and the pay-to-play scheme. There is NO NEED for every single news outlet to be covering *official white house news* via Twitter when there are huge stories that will not be acknowledged by the Predator-in-Chief or his GOP sycophants. Gah! DO YOUR JOB!! Report on the incessant corruption, the indelible STAIN that this administration is leaving on the Oval Office, this country’s legacy and our international standing.

I’m with you! I’ve limited my twitter exposure over the last few days because we knew this was coming. Trump’s popularity is going to reach an all-time high (wouldn’t be surprised to see it at >50%) and I just can’t even begin to voice my displeasure. The release of the detainees are not because of his actions, they are because we’re being played by Russia, China/NK. We are in a weaker position but apparently millions of Americans don’t give a damn. As long as he’s pushing his white supremacist agenda, they don’t care about his corruption, his conspiracy with Russia and his attacks on our democracy. We’re so incredibly screwed as he gets more people like Pompeo & Bolton on his cabinet/admin but sadly it’s not just us… every western democracy will suffer if we fall.

I think part of the reason it is getting buried is that AT&T paid Cohen $200k, while they were trying to push a merger with Time Warner, which the administration would have to approve. It is TOTAL CORRUPTION, but unfortunately, the media conglomerates are a part of it.

Because I know I speak for a large swath of Americans when I say that we want this corruption exposed and front-and-center. I don’t need reporting on every one of Trump’s tweets. I can see them for myself and I know they don’t deserve the attention.

I subscribe to several twitter feeds and they were all over this. Some suggested that this is why net neutrality was “killed.” Can’t wait for Mueller’s report. He knew and interviewed these companies in November 2017!

You know, people accuse Avenatti of being a showboat or whatever but I am so relieved that he’s out there. As he said, he’s doing TV so much because it WORKS. He’s gotten a lot of information from people coming forward because he’s been so visible and accessible. I understand the criticism of Michael, but honestly I’m happy to have him fighting so hard right now.
I’m grateful for his work, too. Apparently there were 2 Suspicious Banking Activity reports made about Michael Cohen’s money transfers. Avenatti is demanding the reports be released. He’s really shining a light on so much corruption.
I was lucky enough to see one of (if not) the first TV appearances MA made in mid-March. He’d been her attorney for about three weeks. I was impressed. Some showboating, sure, but he’s also shown enough common sense and humility to make me think he won’t crash and burn. I think he really is aiming for the truth, for the people.
I may be proven completely wrong, but from an early point I felt that he was going to be a key part of possibly unraveling this mess.

I hope this is the outcome too, but the big hitch is that he’s Stormy Daniel’s attorney. He has to do what ever is in her best interest and what she chooses to do. It’s possible that she could be offered an enormous amount of $ to drop her case, and if she decides to take it, the case and MA investigation goes away. In the case of that scenario I guess what’s left is Mueller’s case or the NY FBI branch case against Cohen.
They can accuse Avenatti of showboating all they want, they are mad that he’s beating them at the media game. And he is there to advocate for his client and take in the world’s most powerful leader, not give makeup tip or talk about the size of his nuclearbutton. This same media was attacking Comey too. Trump butters their bread.
Avenatti is playing the Magat playbook and those bums are mad. I’m glad someone is giving them a dose of their own medicine. Is he a showboat? Sure what trial attorney does not showboat? The Twitter MAGATs are so disturbing, right? My BF warned me when I recently got a Twitter account how bad it was out there, but even he couldn’t prepare me for this. The dark and disturbing (and nonsensical) memes attacking anyone who dares to criticize Trump, the perpetual targeting of women (particularly black women) in positions of power, the unabashed and relentless animosity towards Obama and the left…it’s nuts.
Twitter (and Facebook and tumblr and….) never fixed their little Russian hired gun problem, and we just got confirmation that Russia paid to boost alt-right websites. Yes, some of those are real people (and scary in their utter ignorance and bombast) but they are not a large group. We are being actively lied to.
It’s also darkly hilarious to remember all the accusations of corruption and pay-to-play that were leveled against the Clinton Foundation and echoed endlessly by the MSM, incl. NYT, because they were such good clickbait for Hillary-haters. This is what REAL pay-to-play looks like, with an added soupçon of money laundering. Good times.

I watched her set live, and could not figure out what “they” saw versus what I’d just witnessed on TV. Media figures did not like being called out, and took up for Sarah as a convenient diversion.

Some of the blame should go to Democrats in Congress who are completely silent. When Republicans are in the minority the holler and shout pretending their is a fire. They fight for their policies until the bitter end. Democrats have sat down on their hands while President Obama’s policies have been eliminated. They were silent on fighting for Obama care until we the people got loud and forced them to fight, the have been silent on all the bank deregulation policies that Trump has re-enacted. The Paris climate agreement, where were the Dems in Congress. DACA, they folded in less than 24 hours. The Iran nuclear deal, they were more likely to agree with Republicans that “it didn’t go far enough” than to defend it. I see the same handful of 4-5 Democratic men in Congress doing media interviews. Everyone else is staying silent and raising money for their re-election. It’s depressing.

I read that Congress got enough people to support putting net neutrality for a vote (49 dems plus Susan Collins). They need 51 to overturn. Now wondering if Treason Turtle will actually allow a vote.

Angry hateful people are black holes and I no longer have time for them. It is a waste and you know what they say about staring too long into the abyss. I try to Focus on building/contributing to the positive changes needed instead. There are plenty of examples to emulate rather than giving time to people who have no intention of changing their mind, listening, or caring. Most of the time, they just want attention and handholding for their insecurities. They are trolls and I do not feed.
Call it pay-to-play if you’d like but Mr Mueller with a huge assist from Mr Avenatti are uncovering bribery. It occurred well into this current administration, as recently as November 2017.

What are your thoughts on the NY AG situation? Do you think the change in AG will hurt the efforts to change NY law regarding pardons/double jeopardy? I was feeling confident about the Mueller investigation having state charges as a back-up measure to prevent pardoning, but if NY considers state charges on a pardon to be double jeopardy, then I worry we might be screwed.

It really doesn’t matter who the NY AG is. The cases are handled by staff attorneys (the AG is just the face or the top name we put on the pleading followed by the attys who actually handle the cases) so just because Schneiderman is out doesn’t mean the case stops. It doesn’t.

Just finished reading about the various transactions, which include wires from a Swiss pharma firm. I knew the name rang a bell, and sure enough, they hold a patent for an expensive Parkinson’s medication. They claim of only one meeting with the lawyer, yet continued a 100k/month retainer????
Is it any wonder medications cost so much in the US? All of this makes me sick, but the only cure will be (hopefully) found in November…if people will do their homework and VOTE.
At least we can understand why it is taking Mueller’s team so long….it is beyond convoluted and every day, some new piece of corruption pops up! I have no doubt he is being meticulous about every single thing but we could be in for a long wait. 🙁

The Dotard threatened to take away the press’ credentials today. This is no one’s fault but the press. They had a chance to do the right thing and they decided to defend Sarah and attack Michelle Wolf, even going so far as to claim that Sarah isn’t really a liar because the Dotard is keeping her out of the loop and giving her faulty information. The press never questions the role that the bots are playing, even though we have been told many times that the bots have organized rallies and fueled cultural wars. Last week, all the press did was suck up to the Dotard. They were giddy with joy because the bots got his approval rating to the 40s and increased Melanie’s approval rating. It would have been helpful had the press questioned the authenticity of these numbers considering that the Dotard has had nothing but bad weeks and Melanie hasn’t done anything for her numbers to increase.
Then there is the attack on Mueller and how they are trying to destroy his case by going after the lawyers.
