Lindsay Lohan wants a ‘Vanderpump Rules’-type reality show about her Greek club

Lindsay Lohan at Super Trade LGBTQ Party

God bless any of you who can actually sit down and read a New York Times interview with Lindsay Lohan, much less read the interview and transcribe parts of it. Bless New York Magazine for taking the time, because I’m just going to use their hard work. If you’re a masochist, you can read the NYT profile here:

I wonder who at the New York Times was like “hey isn’t it weird that Lindsay Lohan is still alive and about to celebrate her 32nd birthday? Can I go to Mykonos and interview her?” And the Times was like “sure!” Anyway, what did we learn from this piece? Some highlights:

Her weird accent is gone: the NYT notes that there is “no trace” of her vaguely European accent now.

Her future plans as a club designer & reality star: Lohan is focused on her Mykonos club, Lohan Beach House, which she designed “down to the playlists.” She’s going to open up another club soon in Rhodes, as well as designing an island in Dubai. On top of that, she also wants to launch a Vanderpump Rules–style reality show about her nightclub, which is a truly incredible idea.

She lives in Dubai & she loves it: She loves the fact that “no one knows” about her life allows her to “focus on the result of things….I think success is the best revenge — and silence, as a presence. When I chose to change my future, my life, I was like, ‘Where’s the one place I can find silence?’ It’s less demanding. America is always like, ‘Go go go go go!’ …I don’t have to turn on the news and see about the Kardashians. I don’t have to see anything anymore. I choose what I want to see and how I want to live.”

She’s not a cracked-out mess anymore: “People have to just let go of it and stop bringing it up because it’s not — it’s gone. It’s dead. And that’s the most important thing to me.”

On Donald Trump: “I have no feeling. I have no emotion,” she said. However, she did note that Tiffany Trump, who she has been spotted with, is “a really sweet girl. Nice person.”

Would you watch a Vanderpump Rules-style reality show featuring Lindsay Lohan trying to create an island in Dubai and a nightclub in Rhodes? I would not, because I think that show would mostly consist of Lohan screaming at the cameras while drunk. But who knows? We really haven’t heard that much about her in the past few years. I think I know what she’s doing in Greece and Dubai, but honestly, maybe she really is slightly more “together” these days. I mean, hey, she managed to survive, I guess.

She looks like LeeAnn Times now

  2. kNY says:

And if Hollywood welcomed her back, she’d be at Chateau Marmont in a heartbeat, cocaine dust everywhere.

  3. Jane says:

No…please no. I do NOT want a reality show with this woman. She is a persistent and never-ending train wreck. I think America has enough drama in real life to deal with.

  4. Eleonor says:

Courtney Love too is still alive…I think the journalist wanted to spend some days on a beautiful Greek island.

  5. darkladi says:

Something nice: good for her & good luck with her new life.

Real Me: Her face is never coming back, is it?

    • Zaria says:

I agree, I loved her face! LiLo circa 2006 was the most beautiful girl ever! I can’t connect the face she had before with the one she has now.

      • Jess says:

        Something nice from me too:
As a kid I was obsessed with the parent trap and freaky Friday so I will always have a soft spot for her. And then as I was coming out i was obsessed with her and Sam Ronsons relationship. In some ways the visibility of their relationship helped me as a 14 year old in the middle of nowhere. It wasn’t like today when there’s a lot of visible lesbians and bisexuals in the mainstream and every other Hollywood actor is an alley.

      • Pilar says:

That mid-late 2000 gossip era was the best. What happened to Ronson by the way?

  6. grabbyhands says:

I think success is the best revenge…

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Good one. What next, her own line of “vitamins”?

Just be grateful you’re still able to find someone to finance these things and call it a win, okay?

PS – the world is dealing with enough trauma right now, so no one needs you to add your reality show to the mix.

    • annabanana says:

Who finances her business endeavors? Will her name bring in clients? She’s not bankable anymore and hasnt been for a long time

      • Snazzy says:

I do wonder about this… I mean how does she get the financing to run these projects? It’s not like her name will bring people in, and I’m pretty sure she can’t even spell business plan let alone write one …

      • SamC says:

I think, like Trump, she just licenses her name vs making a financial investment, and makes the periodic appearances.

      • annabanana says:

But who would want to license her name? Does her name really attract anyone at this point?

      • SamC says:

I don’t get it, but C/D list celebs seem to be popular in that region for some reason. See also Tara Reid.

      • grabbyhands says:

Someone in Dubai is giving her money – apparently being en escort is still lucrative for her.

      • Laura says:

People in this area of the middle east/Mediterranean love them some washed up former stars.

    • Lovey says:

Revenge against what? She’s the one who wronged everyone.

  7. Ali says:

Why oh why did the NYTimes even interview her?

  8. boredblond says:

“our greatest export reveals..”…evidently the NYT is shooting to match the journalistic excellence of People and Us..hehehe…

  9. Birdix says:

They also mentioned that she feels so safe in Dubai that she leaves her penthouse unlocked. That’s like bait for the crazies…

    • Snazzy says:

probably in a secure building anyway. BUT, how does she even afford a penthouse?

      • Ladykeller says:

She can’t afford anything. But some of her “clients” are pretty wealthy.

  10. SamC says:

If she’s jones’ing for a reality show she doesn’t love that noone knows about her life and is so NOT uninterested in getting back into the fame game.

    • tealily says:

Right? Also, she doesn’t want to turn on the TV and see the Kardashians… why does she think we would want to turn on the TV and see her?

  11. adastraperaspera says:

She should pick up her phone and dial 1-800-CALL-FBI, to shine some light on how her “clients” are running global human trafficking businesses and gunning for western liberal democracies. Now that is a show I would watch!

  12. Tiffany says:

I am more curious as to HOW she is able to live in Dubai and Greece.

How the hell does get get visa approval for months, let alone years at a clip.

    • Starkiller says:

I’m always curious about that too. If one of us normals with a rap sheet as long as hers tried to enter England or UAE we would never even make it into the airport.

    • jwoolman says:

I was wondering the same thing. Dubai is not cheap living. Neither is a penthouse. Maybe she holds on to money better now that she’s not paying for all those lawyers?

If she’s licensing her name and making appearances, maybe she doesn’t have to do other things any more.

It must be good that she’s been so quiet for so long. But please – no reality show. Ever.

  13. minx says:

I subscribe to the NYT and couldn’t believe they bothered with her.
She just looks so old. I’m sure she’s in Dubai because some men over there are paying her way.

  14. Jordan says:

Still willing to swap Lohan for Ledger in terms of what celebrity to bring back.

  15. huckle says:

I follow her on Instagram just for kicks and I don’t really understand what she’s doing for the club. Is it for marketing purposes? What services does the club provide? Is it just a night club? I don’t get any marketing for it from her posts. Maybe it’s just lost on me.

  16. tealily says:

When she says she designed her club “down to the playlists,” I’m sure she means she just designed the playlists.

  17. The Original G says:

I don’t know. Her gossip was so entertaining circa 8 years ago or so. But, she couldn’t even show up for a reality show about HERSELF. I wish her well, but I think she’s going to have to earn back trust for reals.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

She has truly burned those HW bridges, such was the awfulness of her behaviour. She stopped getting work as they couldn’t get insurance for her – the were many stories of her not showing up on set for days, turning up high/drunk, abusive to crew/cast and there was one story that she turned up to set with her entourage and then left again to go party.

Even if by some miracle she gets her act together she will never work in HW again. The entertainment industry is well and truly done with her. Its sad as she had potential.

      • The Original G says:

I don’t know. She’s just not that bright or that interesting. I do think that she had some charisma and some real sensitivity as an actor but all that is so obscured by her history and she’s done nothing to develop herself as an artist.

I like second chances( and third and fourth) for people so I hope she heals up as a spirit and finds her way. Somehow, I don’t think that’s show business.

  18. Sarah says:

Looking at her makes me want to spray my computer with Lysol.

  19. CatFoodJunkie says:

I wish some interviewer would ask her what happened to London, where she was able to go out without photogs and take a run with anonymity (her words). It was so blissful and, again, she could turn on the tv without seeing celebrity trash shows (her words, again). Is this her thing now ? Country to country where each place is “just what [she] needed to feel at peace”, while still trashing America? Which country is next ? The old saying ‘everywhere you go, there you are’ could not apply more to this girl.

My MIL is like this – she moves from house to house and city to city and can only stay a short time before she decides there’s a better place for her somewhere else. She won’t even consider looking inward. 😐

  20. K says:

She did what everyone suggested she do if she wanted to survive, which was stop driving around LA like a menace, stop pretending to be an actress in garbage films where porn stars showed her up by being 10x more professional, cut ties from her toxic family (I assume she’s left some of them behind) and leave the country for some quiet. I’m glad she didn’t die and I hope her addictions are under control, but I don’t want to hear about her ever again.

Stay in Dubai, please and thank you, Lindsay! We don’t need any more nonsense. America’s overflowing with it!
