Sienna Miller wonders aloud if there’s a ‘vendetta’ against her

Many commenters have pointed it out, but I only realized this recently – Sienna Miller loves to play the victim. Most recently, Sienna’s interview in Vogue was a study in the push-pull of Sienna’s own victim complex. She talked on and on about Jude Law and what had happened between them (re: the nanny), and how she was in a different place, all of which was designed to make us remember “poor Sienna”. Meanwhile, she only made some cryptic allusions to her on-again relationship with married Balthazar Getty, saying she was “naïve and trusting”. Let me point out – Balthazar is an extreme douchebag, and I’m not absolving him of his fair share in the culpability of this affair. He’s the one who is married, but for her part, no one is forcing Sienna to wander around topless with him month after month.

Unlike many of the celebrity girls with a martyr complex, Sienna has never and will never be a poster girl for The Sisterhood. But she’s trying! After the scandal with Sienna dropping out the Russell Crowe version of Robin Hood, some sources (Sienna’s people) went around complaining about how Sienna was just too young, thin and beautiful for the role. Sienna is now trying to roll that back, saying that the casting of Cate Blanchett was “better”. She even describes all of these rumors as part of some vague “vendetta”:

Sienna Miller has insisted she holds no grudges against Cate Blanchett for taking a film role she was originally meant to play.

The actress was initially down to portray Maid Marian in Ridley Scott’s epic Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe, but the role was recast to Oscar winner Cate.

“Cate’s 10 years older than me, which is more suitable for the script,” Sienna told Total Film magazine. “The script kept changing and evolving to the point where I was no longer appropriate for it.”

She also admitted: “If they’d recast with Keira Knightley I’d have been heartbroken but they’ve gone for something different – and better in my opinion.”

“If I had the choice between Cate Blanchett and me I’d go for Cate Blanchett.”

Sienna also hinted she thought there was a “vendetta” against her in the media.

“There were several people supposed to be doing the film who no longer are but because it’s me it becomes this enormous drama – I think it’s a Sienna thing! There’s just a vendetta against… I don’t know.”

“Films take two-and-a-half years to come out. I understand why I made them at the time but I’m absolutely not there now. I have to be more strategic in the choices I make.”

Sienna is one of those young stars who needs a really great publicist, and she needs to learn how to take career advice. Someone needs to sit her down and explain in detail that people don’t have a “vendetta” against her, we just think she’s rather trashy, drunk, narcissistic and trampy because we’ve been provided with lots of evidence. Doesn’t Sienna have good representation? Someone to tell her to break it off with Balthazar for good, and maybe give one interview where she takes some responsibility?

    I have a vendetta against that t-shirt.

  2. Kaiser says:

Jaybird: Agreed. It’s not kitsch, it’s just ugly.

  3. Hieronymus Grex says:

Why? Just because they hire her for a movie part when Kate Beckinsale is too pricey?

  4. rzrlvr says:

    @Jaybird

I know! I was just eyeballing that shirt and thinking…that wasn’t even cool in the 80’s. And everything was cool in the 80’s. All she needs is a side pony tail with a big scrunchy and a slap bracelet! It’s hideous!

  5. Ned says:

Keira Knightley is much more younger than Sienna, and Cate Blanchett is wolder but not pretty.

Sienna’s age is exactly in the middle of those two, so they should have replaced her with someone pretty in her 30s like Sienna. Say, Keri Russell, or Natalie Portman (even Reese if she might be interested).

They are doing the same mistake that was done when they chose Maggie Gyllenhaal for the Dark Night.

Those heroines should always be pretty and preferably petit.

You don’t imagine Robin Hood with anything like Cate and as talented as she is, this is more of a role of romance and not of serious dramatic work (not that Keri or Natalie would not be able to do serious acting).

  6. Green Is Good says:

I can’t believe the narcissism of this talentless hag.

“Sienna Miller has insisted she holds no grudges against Cate Blanchett for taking a film role she was originally meant to play.”

Cate Blachett didn’t “take” the film role. The film makers realized Sienna’s only scary brilliant talent is between her legs, which she rarely closes.

This is yet ANOTHER “star” who’s career seems without purpose. You dont get the idea that that she has any real passion for the work or the art and seems to mostly be in it for the clothes and men. She comes off as bland and banal as you can get. Other than “Layer Cake” where once again she was cast as the great, irrestible beauty and you just dont see WHY. Like Beckinsale (well Kate’s really pretty) she’s pretty without any real talent. When Beckinsale got the Ava Gardner role in “The Aviator” that was HER chance to show if she had the chops, which proved that as an actress she was very pretty. Sienna seems to flit from role to role without making any real IMPACT on you. Its not like Cate Blanchett who COMMANDS the screen, Sienna like so MANY of the newer female stars seems to think acting is standing around overly thin hunched over from hunger, wearing improbable often ugly clothing, and going to rehab. I bet once they looked at the dailies they realized she was bringing NOTHING to the picture and the audience really doesnt know or CARE about her or her acting. She’s the Posh Spice of movies.

  8. Eileen Yover says:

Jaybird: Yes my thoughts exactly. Tribal print + Mickey = WTF?

  9. Obvious says:

You know…when the whole Jude Law thing started I was pro-Sienna. But now I’m with Jude (besides the fact he’s hot) here she is being the other woman, frankly i’m amazed that Jude put up with her as long as he did.

His nanny was a major upgrade!

  10. RobN says:

Lots of advice here, but what she really needs to do is to just shut up. Really, it would be such a nice break that maybe somebody would actually miss her.

  11. Pole says:

To me she seems stupid and selfcentered. She seems totally unable to understand why many people doesn’t like a person that keeps avoiding taking responsibilty for her actions by playing a victim. I wish her 15 min. were up.

  12. KateNonymous says:

KateNonymous wonders aloud if Sienna Miller knows what “vendetta” means.

  13. diddy says:

She is full of shit, i agree she needs a good pr team where is the great Stephen Huvane when you need him lol

  14. Correct says:

Kaiser, you forgot to mention one thing…

    She is BEAUTIFUL!

  15. yikes says:

Ned, seriously you are absolutely deranged. I don’t even know where to begin with your comments. “Pretty and petit” Cate is “wolder but not pretty” ughhh! Please don’t EVER come to the USA, you will be sadly disappointed.

  16. sheryl says:

This is such a laugh…here she goes again, everybody else is so mean to Miss Sweet and Innocent, while the way she treats people never seems to cross her mind. And…if she wants to talk “vendettas,” what about her personal vendetta against Jude in the Vogue interview and several interviews prior to that? Yeah, he ALSO made a mistake, apologized for it, and moved on, but she wants to pull that **** out every single time she needs it because she CAN’T SHUT HER MOUTH ABOUT HER PERSONAL LIFE…YOU KNOW, THE ONE THAT SHE WISHES WASN’T SO PUBLIC? GEE, WHAT A FREAKIN’ CONUNDRUM! I agree with whoever said she needs to: a. Shut up talking already. If you continually talk about your personal life and don’t let other people’s mistakes against you get laid to rest, then don’t expect YOURS to…you get what you give, sister! b. Start doing some halfway decent acting and let your work be your publicity. You should try it sometime, it just might take you where you want to go. c. Quit blaming EVERYBODY ELSE FOR EVERYTHING BAD IN YOUR LIFE. Take responsibility, act like a grown up instead of an 18-year-old acting like a 14-year-old, and again, JUST SHUT UP! IF YOU DON’T WANT MEDIA IN YOUR BUSINESS, THEN KEEP YOUR BUSINESS OUT OF MEDIA. But you know how it works…..quit pretending you don’t. You courted it until you had it in the palm of your hand…and now it’s biting you and you’re just disappointed that your latest and greatest uses of the media haven’t exactly went your way. Time to regroup (see a., b., and c. above). To be honest, I think you’re just an attention addict myself, which is why you can’t shut up. But we’ll see.
P.S. The continual whining is just tiresome. That’s all.

  17. Mimi says:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, true. But I don’t find her attractive at all. Her looks are so bland and blah. She looks like every other girl (albeit older) I grew up with.

  18. Tania says:

I love it when she talks, because she is so completely and utterly stupid she has no idea that she is just continuing to reveal that she has no soul or social conscience whatsoever. Keep talking, baby. You’ll talk yourself out of a career!

  19. Jazz says:

Perhaps she should stop screwing married men, apologise to the wife and kids, and actually take some responsibility and there will be no ‘vendetta’. Oh, and stop wearing such nasty t-shirts!

  20. sheryl says:

And quit dragging other people into her drama….better yet, just quit the drama and stay out of sight.

  21. Ursula says:

Vandetta against her? I wonder whether she seriously thought sleeping with married men would endear her to anyone. No one likes adulterers.

  22. j. ferber says:

Ned, it sounds like you’re reading from the Male Chauvinist Pig Manifesto with “those heroines should always be pretty and preferably petite.” Is there a preferable shoe size, too, like anything over a size 7 is verboten? I believe that is one criticism Peter Bogdanovich had of Cybil Shepherd: her size 8 feet. Cate Blanchett has always been perfect in whatever friggin’ role she’s taken. A true gentleman would know that.

  23. dlisted says:

SM is a wh0re. this fact is obvious to anyone with an IQ larger than their shoe size.

  24. Zoe (The Other One) says:

Yes Sienna, yes there is a vendetta against you. A big one. We all hate you and wish you’d f*ck off back to where you came from you talentless, media-wh0ring oxygen thief.

    Any questions?

  25. Trashaddict says:

My thoughts exactly, Zoe. Can a female be a putz??? “Cause she is the female version of one.

  26. fern says:

Translation: SM is very, very, very, very, very, very disappointed because she thought that the Vogue interview was going to redeem her career and image; so much so that she would be able to resume flauting her affair with the married man without having to face the consequences of her actions. Image her surprise when she learned that even in 2009 that people still have sympathy for RG and her 4 kids and don’t find her antics with a married man “cute” or “romantic”.

  27. fern says:

    This statement just shows that
    1) SM is her own worst enemy. I agree, she needs to for once in her life acknowledge that she is wrong and stop passing the buck. It’s stupid to keep blaming others, when she is sticking her breast in the married man’s mouth or her tongue in a married man’s ear and wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt to make it look like the married man was thinking about her on his kid’s birthday because he supposedly bought her a shirt from Disneyland (considering that he doesn’t even care about her to file for a divorce, it is extremely unlikely that he bought her that shirt; so now she is buying her ownself gifts to make it look like the married man loves her).

2)SM underestimates the public and media. For some odd reason she thinks that she can manipulate people into tolerating the affair. Why would people tolerate an affair, where 5 people are being hurt on a weekly basis? The sad part is that SM still hasn’t learned her lession. Instead of doing the right thing, she is going to keep up with this very public affair and then whine when she doesn’t get her way. I wouldn’t be surprised if photos of her spending the holiday with BG surface.
