He is telling the truth, however Michael kept it secret as she wanted, and I am sure he gave very few details about it, to Matt Fiddes. Michael protected their love just like he did his kids and they had planned to be together after he stopped touring, singing etc. She did not wish to be chased down by the paparazzi and open up her life to the public just yet. I always thought of him as a Large Child, certainly not someone that would harm a child in any way. I don't know why some people would take offense in believing that he might have been gay, I see nothing wrong with that. I have gay friends that are in loving relationships. I personally don't know what to think, perhaps he was Asexual. Bottom line is that I wish Michael would have found someone special to share his life with, someone that saw the real person, NOT the super star.
