Hayden Panettiere wears a tiny see-through lace dress on The Late Show

Hayden Panettiere was on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and she came out wearing a tiny lace dress. It didn’t look as revealing on camera as it did in pictures, although she seemed a little self conscious when she sat down and was kind of perched on the corner of her chair.

I watched the whole interview hoping that Hayden would say something quotable, interesting or funny so that I could report on it, but she really didn’t. Maybe it was just her demeanor, which was friendly enough but just kind of uninteresting and bland. Hayden was promoting the teen comedy I Love You Beth Cooper, which opens this Friday. They showed a clip from the film and it looks like crap.

This years’ Wimbeldon winner Serena Williams came on after Hayden and she was much more personable and warm. I really enjoyed her interview and found her very likable, down-to-earth and inspiring.

Hayden talked about how she went swimming in the Bahamas with the wild dolphins and she also discussed her misspelled back tattoo, which says “live without regrets” in Italian, but with one extra “i”. She said she learned about the fact that her tattoo was spelled wrong when she was in Italy and someone pointed it out, but that she doesn’t really mind. The thing is, she already told this to the press so it’s really not news, and neither is the fact that she likes dolphins. At least she risked her life to save dolphins a couple of years ago, and we can always focus on that tiny dress. She seems to be wearing some kind of stick-on support pasties and very small white underwear, although it’s hard to tell. This barely counts as a distraction, but I’ll take it today.

Good Lord, does this chick have a stylist? If youre going to try to pull off a dress like that
    a. dont wear it on Letterman
    b. DONT WEAR WHITE PANTIES UNDERNEATH.
Not a good look. I guess shes trying to get people to see that crapfest “I Love You blah blah” any way she can, because it looks like a stinker.

Now, I’m a big fan of see-through lace done right, like y’all remember that Britney one? GORGEOUS. I’d rock it.

    But this one looks sloppy.

If the bottom had more coverage, or if it was entirely opaque, I would love this. The top is cute as hell, and she has a nice figure. The white panties? Mixed messages, Missy! Either rock it slightly slutty with commitment, or choose something else! :)

Why didn’t she just wear nude panties?

Annie- Loved Britneys dress and thought of it while reading this post. Britney did it better!

Of course she doesn’t care if her tattoo is spelled right or wrong. She’s like every teenager I’ve ever taught. Literacy is just so not important. Yes, it’s in a foreign language, but if it’s your tattoo, you’d better get it right. She reminds me of Posh “I’ve never read a book in my life” Spice.

I like it but think it’s too dressy !! for the letterman show.
She has a good overall look, shoes, make up, hair.
I just would have added some lenght to the knee (always the best fit) and doubled the bottom part with a nude coloured underlay.

I watched the interview and it seemed like she was trying way too hard to be sexy and interesting. I’m sure it’s her age.

Nothing wrong with the dress, shouldn’t be wearing white underneath though. Not sure it was right for Letterman – maybe an awards night?? Slutty look for teens has been around a while, I remember dressing like this myself (quite a while ago). Lots of teen actors are not very interesting – what do they have to talk about exactly? Still, they can’t all be Jodie Foster, pretty, talented and intelligent. Shame Hayden can’t act but at least she’s pretty.
