When she was born, she was given the name Angelina Jolie Voight. When she started working, she dropped her father’s name and used her middle name as her surname. At some point in her 20s, Angelina made it official and legally changed her name to Angelina Jolie. Angelina never changed her name with her first two marriages, to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. I mean, she may have, but I don’t recall Angelina ever going by Angie Thornton or Angelina Miller (although both of those names sound cool). But after several years with Brad Pitt, she did legally change her name to Angelina Jolie Pitt. No more. After two and a half years of divorce proceedings, Angelina is officially back to Just Jolie.
Angelina Jolie just got something returned that has been near and dear to her heart over the years … her name. According to documents, obtained by The Blast, the “Maleficent” star’s moniker has been restored to the pre-Pitt status of simply, Jolie.
The Blast broke the story, Jolie and Brad Pitt were officially made single last week when they filed a judgment that allow them to dissolve the marriage while still working out the details of property and custody. We’re told it was very important for the stars to emotionally break away from each other and begin their new single lives, so the documents were fast-tracked with their private judge.
The former couple’s six children are also listed on the document, but their names will continue to be hyphenated, Jolie-Pitt.
Update: Brad Pitt has filed his financial information in the divorce with Angelina. The move could signify they are close to a final judgment.
It’s funny to me that there was so much financial-disclosure movement on their divorce right around and on Tax Day here in America. Did Brad and his accountants need to file his taxes before he could make any big financial disclosures to Angelina? Were his tax filings yet another reminder that he needed to get this divorce over and done with? As for the name change… I barely ever thought of her as Jolie-Pitt. The kids are Jolie-Pitts. But Angelina never was to me.

I actually didn’t realize that she had officially changed her name. It makes sense since the kids went to Jolie-Pitt, but it just never occurred to me.
I love her skin, so perfect. Why hasn’t anyone tried to get her for a makeup line? I would love to know her skin care secrets.
Botox is her skin care secrets. I really dislike when someone like say, Jennifer Garner, have these skin care commercials while sporting a face full of fillers. It’s offensive. Jennifer Garner has really bad forehead wrinkles, you can see them in her latest commercial. It looks like they tried to airbrush them out. If she’s using botox and/or juvederm, she’s doing it wrong.

Thanks for posting that link! I scanned through it again and was impressed with a lot of the posts – helpful & informative. Ironically, some of the older posters (50+) had a simpler, more pared down regimen than those in their 20s and 30s.
She uses Hourglass cosmetics and that was confirmed by the Founder herself.
Oh gosh it’s not all botox and fillers. She’s also genetically blessed; her parents are an actor and a model.
I wouldn’t be surprised is she uses some amount of botox or whatever but she also has good facial bone structure which also helps the skin not appear to sag as much.
The current trend in make-up, often described in positive terms such as dewy, radiant, glowing, etc.- comes off as a little too shiny sometimes in my opinion. In the extreme it’s unpleasantly greasy, oily looking. I miss the days of a little powder.
God, isn’t that the truth? One time I got a facial and my face was so greasy afterwards and the owner tried to tell me my skin looked dewy. It looked and felt greasy and I couldn’t wait to get home and wash whatever it was that the technician put on my face.

She was always Angelna Jolie to me as well. I really don’t think Brad was ever committed to the marriage and his drinking and long absences from the family appears to me like he wanted out. Angie I think was committed for the kids but when it became obvious to her that Brad was not and after the traumatic plane incident she gave up. Angie does not look back. So I see her moving forward and being committed to her kids. I see Brad being committed to what is best for Brad. Sad but relieved this has come to an end.
Of course he was. He was the one pushing for marriage in the first place… telling everyone the kids were asking for a marriage and telling him to buy mom a ring. LoL when Angelina was asked she said the kids don’t know what marriage is and just want a cake.
I feel the same and for some reason this made me think of something else about relationships. The “does not look back” part is relatable and once more depth/kids comes into relationships it’s interminable to get to that part. Is that unavoidable after your mid-20’s, I wonder? LOL. I miss just walking away and being done immediately.

This divorce is finally speeding up because Angelina had enough of Brad’s stalling and filed a default and got the divorce from a judge.
After 10 months, several extensions and several pr games from Brad, Angelina is finally free.

You can’t just file a default judgment because someone is stalling. In fact, if Brad filed any kind of answer or responsive pleading (which he did), Angie isn’t entitled to a default judgment at all.

It seems like changing the last name after marriage is the kiss of death for celebrity marriages. There are obviously complicated issues involved, but I can’t think of many celebrities with their husband’s names who are still married.

She did legally drop “Voight” after she adopted Maddox… I believe in response to her Dad being… who he is at heart… in 2002 her Dad went on tv and said she had mental health problems (while she was trying to adopt)… and he was the one to announce she was a mother… she said in some interview that they could have taken Maddox away because her father was publicly calling into question her mental health status… hence she didn’t speak to him for so long… Her og name change isn’t really new news… She released “First They Killed My Father” under her original name… it’s just paperwork… she’s claimed and reclaimed her name couple of times from a couple deadbeats… just saying…
