As Katherine Heigl promotes the hell out of The Ugly Truth, she’s been forced to talk about some subjects that she’d honestly rather not. I think first up for Heigl’s worst topics is her smoking habit. Personally, I’m not a hater (about that, anyway). It’s tough to quit, and it’s even tougher to get to that place where you think “Okay, I can quit now and really stick with it”. Think about this way – could you “quit” caffeine? They’re similar addictions. I know some (many) think smoking is worse than illegal drugs, so whatever… agree to disagree.
The second weird topic for Heigl is the whole baby thing. The one thing I’ll never understand is why everyone is always asking Heigl about babies. She’s obviously still a smoker – she will have to quit before she gets pregnant. I guess the tabloids (and perhaps, we, as a society) look at someone like Katherine and we’re all “she’s married now, she should have babies next!” According to In Touch Weekly, this is just what is going through Katherine’s mind too – according to their sources, Heigl has informed Grey’s Anatomy producers to prepare for a pregnancy:
According to an insider, Katherine has informed Grey’s Anatomy producers that she and her husband Josh are trying to start a family, so that her pregnancy can be written into the show’s storyline.
“They are ready for a child,” says the insider. “She gave her TV bosses a heads-up, just in case she gets pregnant soon.”
Katherine and Josh reportedly also plan to adopt a child from Korea (where Katherine’s sister was adopted from), but Korean law requires that a couple be married for three years prior to adopting. Since they’ve only been married for a year and a half, they’re trying for a biological baby first. Says an insider, “They are hoping for a big family.”

Meh to that report. I don’t buy that Katherine’s trying to get pregnant (because she’s still smoking), but I might buy that she and Josh are considering adoption. But why does it always have to be from South Korea? Just because her sister was adopted from South Korea? That rumor has been percolating for a while, and I’m not sure if anything will come of it.
Katherine also talked about her body image, dieting and pregnancy to Star Magazine. She claims she’s “scared” to get pregnant because she knows she’ll get fat:
Q: You are curvy, which translates as: You don’t diet yourself to death. Do you have a quick beauty fix?
KH: I stop eating! I’m not small-boned, and my bra size went from a B cup to 32DD when I was 18, so there’s only so much I can do.Q: Are you and Josh thinking about babies?
KH: One day, sure. But pregnancy scares me. I know I’ll be one of those women who looks pregnant all over the body. I’ll get fatter and fatter from my toes up!

So, which is it? Do you think Katherine’s trying to get pregnant, or trying to adopt? Or none of the above? I really don’t think she‘s into babies right now. Her career is going at a steady clip, and she probably doesn’t want to break that rhythm for a little while longer. And besides, it’s her business, not ours.

Jennifer Aniston is a heavy smoker. I saw her outside of Serafina’s a few years ago chain smoking with Vince Vaughn. How come nobody ever cites her smoking habit as evidence she’s “not ready” to get pregnant? Let’s face it, there are some women who smoke throughout their pregnancies despite the fact that medical evidence shows it causes low birth weight and health defects.
Anyway, I think these two women are similar in that neither of them will be pregnant soon. In my opinion both are more likely to adopt. When Katharine was promoting knocked up she said she would ‘never’ get pregnant.
{Katharine, I’m not sure why you decided to make this about Jennifer Aniston.} LOADS of celebs smoke, most of them keep it out of the public eye for the sake of their reputations. I kind of like that Heigl doesn’t try to hide it… it may the only thing I really like about her, in fact.
What does Jennifer Aniston have to do with Heigel getting pregnant? So, they both smoke, so do many celebs!
Anyway, I am afraid for Heigel to get pregnant too. Then there will be two of her!
I don’t think it’s a bad thing that Heigl would adopt from South Korea “just” because that’s where her sister was born. It’s admirable that she would want a cultural connection between her sister and daughter.
And that’s probably the only nice thing I can think of to say about this woman, so I’m done.
Maybe she’s JUST NOT READY. God, the pressure that’s put on women.. When you’re single, you’re asked why don’t you have a man. You get a man and you’re asked why don’t you get married. You get married and it’s why don’t you have kids. That kind of pressure would have me running to the cigarettes, gotta be honest. At least they don’t ask me questions.
As a younger person (22) who has been married four years, I HATE that people think just because you’re married it’s time to start popping out babies. They’ve only been married 18ish months, her career is actually going somewhere and they don’t need to be in any rush to have kids. We ended up adopting but that was more because everything just kind of happened. I say we leave her be.
I love to see KH pregnant. I am sure she and Josh will be great parents and the baby will be adorable.
As for smoking…so what? it is time you weirdos lay off about her smoking. She will quit when she needs to.

I don’t smoke, but I’m not real keen on the comment that the woman will ‘have’ to give up b4 getting pregnant. She doesn’t have to, it is advised of course.
i don’t want to see her pregnant because from what i can tell she seems pretty selfish. and of course she might want to stop inhaling 800 cigarettes a day, too.
Wow! I didn’t mean to bring Jennifer Aniston up offensively, I just noticed a comparison between the two women in the way they are treated by tabloids. It’s just that when I think of women the tabloids consistently claim pregnancy against, JA immediately came to mind. It seems like she’s accused of being pregnant everytime she has a new boyfriend.

Personally, I just noticed a comparison. And the tabloids always write that these ladies are “quitting” as evidence they are on the verge of getting knocked up. When it really isn’t proof considering some women chose to continue to smoke throughout a pregnancy.

Plenty of people quit smoking when they find out they are pregnant. My husband used to smoke it took a while of him going outside to have his break. But now he has quit.
Most people talk about her smoking because it is a nasty habit and she is a nasty woman.
That dress is horrible. Her boobs are hanging down to her waist. Does she not know about supportive bras?
i think katherine is thinking about pregnancy, not planning it.
Since the poor woman got married everyone is always asking her when she is going to have kids. She has said many times she would like to start a family and adoption is certainly something they would consider but right now both her and husband are focused on their careers. She said when she has children she wants to be able to give them the time and devotion they deserve and need and when she makes that decision obviously her career will take a back seat. It is a pity more people are not so responsible.
As for smoking she did recently say that she has managed to give up and hopefully she can stick with it. She spoke about her first smoke free week in about 6 years.
I also happen to think she looks amazing in that dress and I like her brown hair too.
First off. I am not a celeb and I am a heavy smoker. I also have 3 beautiful, healthy babies. People can quit smoking while pregnant. I can never give it up completely bc I always pick it right back up after baby is born so it doesn’t matter who smokes and who doesn’t. Second, I swore after my 1st and 2nd baby I was done..but now mommy of 3 so just because someone says they do not see themselves getting pregnant, doesn’t mean they can’t change their minds. It’s all about when you think you are ready. And if you don’t think you are at a point to where you can really devote time into motherhood and you don’t see that time in the near future..then so be it. AT least she isn’t just out being a baby popper when she doesn’t think it’s the right time in her life. That is called being SMART. Babies need lots of time and love so kudos to Heigl for not being some selfish person who just has kids..bc.

Katherine is super hot no matter whether she smokes or not. She is always looking damn good. Her Chucky’s Bride and Under Siege 2 roles in the 1990s showcased that sexy body of hers.
You could tell back then she would continue looking smoking hot now. She can have red, black, blonde or brown hair, and will still look hot. Katherine reminds me of the hot redhead Alex on American Horror Story.
